The 1st time we dined here, it was absolutely amazing, both food and services. Unfortunately after 2nd visit, we are all quite disappointed with the differences in services and food limit even though both visits we ordered the same family set (for 3 to 4 pax). On the 2nd visit, sauces were served differently (in mini pouring jug instead of saucers which is great) but instead of unlimited papadum like the 1st visit, we were only given TWO single papadum and when questioned about unlimited papadum during previous visit, we were told that each craving set only comes with ONE papadum… seriously? ONE? Surely papadum doesn’t cost that much to provide more than one piece per craving set, after all, the family set is catered to feed 3-4 people as per menu… so we are supposed to crumble the papadum to share between 4 people?? 4 people sitting at the table, only 2 banana leaves were provided and had to ask for the other 2. Instead of side dishes being served in bowls for self-serve, 2nd visit had to be served scoop by scoop from the waitress until we asked to have a bowl for self-serve. Other than the above poor experiences, food does taste delicious. If you only care about delicious food but nothing else, then do try it otherwise you’ll just have to try your luck to see which waitress is working on the day to serve you.

Very good banana leaf rice place. Order their standard set which comes with unlimited rice. Add on your favorite meat or vegetable dishes. We had the deep-fried squids and brinjal as side dishes. Washed down with our teh tarik

Being a resident in Malaysia, I was pretty shocked to find a BananaBro in my native Perth. And you know what? The flavours are all there and they're all good :D Sure I gotta pay more than 3x times the normal ringgit price, even though it's not 3x as good, but my guess is cost of living is higher in Perth than in KL. And they're actually using a full-pledged banana leaf unlike many banana leaf places in KL nowadays. My small complaint is the lack of ventilation that made my clothes smell like I live in Brickfields.

Air-conditioned casual dining place. We ordered the set lunch for 2 and had the fried squid and eggplants for side kicks. Food was served on a banana leaf. All dishes came in a small stainless bowl. The fried squid was crispy and chewy. The savoury eggplants were soft and went well with rice as it was a little salty. Our favourite free flow side dishes were the cabbage. Generous servings of fried onions and fresh cucumber in yoghurt salad.

Didn’t expect at all that this restaurant would be so tasty. Walk in sit down and you choose their banana leaf 🍃 Craving set which includes unlimited rice, fried onion baji, cabbage masala, cucumber raita, 4 types of gravy and a pappadum. All for $16. Then you choose their sides on top of that for extra. Got to say all the food was tasty and walked out so, so full. Their fried food is good and you don’t feel like a greased up sponge afterwards. Good value, yummy and you can free top up for your craving set which is unbelievable. Use utensils 🍴 or use your hands to eat. Dont matter as it is all Yum yum 🤤

If you get Jenny as your waitress, you are in for a treat. She's fast ,efficient and friendly. Food is excellent, delicious to the last grain of rice with all the flavoursome curries.

The banana leaf set meal is quite good for Perth. But it would be way better if they use proper low starch content rice such as Basmati or Ponni rice for this kind of meal. Sticky rice ruins the enjoyment in eating South Indian curries, even they use low starch rice for any Indian curry stalls all over Malaysia too. The other dishes like the onion bajjis (crispy onion pakoras) that accompany the set is definitely intoxicating. Other curry gravies are ok to my tasting, not really potent enough to real South Indian standard, but still good enough for Perth. Brinjal Masala was definitely my favourite here! While the lamb varuval was a bit over excited in using the whole spices (green cardamoms, cinnamon pieces and star anise). Apart from the above, the service here is definitely spot on and won my heart.

Finally banana leaf rice! Beautiful fluffy rice served with crunchy battered onions, raita, turmeric cabbage with mixed curries. Ordered fried fish and squid. Omg, this was the bomb! Especially the curries! The fish was fresh and so yummy. Teh tarik was awesome as well. Ordered roti canai due to overconfidence. I have had to tapao back. But it was awesome too. Highly recommended for Malaysian food lovers. 👌
