Sadly the both buildings are quite empty, maybe because of Covid lockdown or high rental. But very cool design. Even have a children playground above the big building. Wildflowers garden and water features too. Very cool good designs! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜Ž

Now coming to the review of Yagan Square. Located in the heart of Perth, WA, Yagan Square is a dynamic meeting place filled with an energy that echoes the Aboriginal significance of the site. It's not just a place for transit, but a hub of culture, food, and art. The cuisine offerings are diverse, catering to various food lovers. Its splendid architecture is an embodiment of modern design seamlessly blending in historical elements. In the evening, the nearby digital tower lights up, painting a vibrant and lively atmosphere. With regular events and an interactive playground for children, Yagan Square caters to both families and individuals. Overall, a visit to Perth would feel incomplete without passing by Yagan Square, the city's beating heart

Yagan Square is currently (July 2023) under redevelopment concurrently with the construction of the ECU University city campus. The open spaces are largely gone, and this space is essentially a wide thoroughfare linking the city centre to Northbridge. Ironically, the place is much quieter despite the masses of people flowing through the area. The open grassy knolls and water features, along with many park benches, are all now behind construction hoarding boards. Gone, too, are the many vagrants and homeless that used to live in the Square. It feels a lot safer and is less intimidating to walk through the square without dodging fighting families or loud drunks that seemed to emerge at nightfall.

There is no business staying open, a lot of anti social behaviour. The Shoe Bar is the best thing about Yagan Square

Was invited to a private function at this venue. Food was great and they had a wide variety of drinks to select from. The private room is quite spacious with enough room for roughly 100 pax and has its own joined bar. Great experience.

Great open area, full of cafรฉs, restaurants & pubs... There are the Markets inside, an excellent playground area for the children up the top near the Horseshoe Bridge... Rooftop Bars & Restaurants... Conveniently located near the Bus Port & underground railway lines.... Definitely worth a visit...

Lovely venue! Beautiful design and lighting at night! I was here to do a kids event! My daughter and her cousin Mason were performing! They did pretty well and enjoyed playing in the shallow water stream at this venue. It was a hot day so, I was kind of expecting it!

Chinese New Year celebration was going on. Including lion dance. There were many good trucks too. This spot on a weekend had always surprised me with its events.

I make a hyper-conscious effort to avoid this area because I don't feel safe walking through it. I make an unconscious effort avoiding it because of the smell. I have literally witnessed defecation occurring underneath that "Horseshoe Lane" sign. Waste of everyone's taxes.

Great location to hang out although it is quite confusing to navigate if you're new to the area. We don't go into the city much and were quite lost trying to find an entry into a restaurant for our first night out with our toddlers. Otherwisw great place to hang out and picnic.

I liked it because I visited it with my toddler and on the top level there is a children's playground, which has nice rubbery surface and decent views of the buildings surrounding the area. On the ground floor there are a couple of restaurants which seemed like good places to try out, they were quite busy. There is a big "PERTH" sign which lights up at night, so makes for a good souvenir photo. All in all, it was good as a casual visit but there can be so much more to it. Also, there is no parking available nearby unless you get lucky in one of the nearby streets, so that's a big inconvenience as well.

The whole place is well designed, especially the additional sections. Great for people of all ages, except many food stores in the eatery area and some of the shops are closed.

I went to the free Jazz concert put on by the Ellington Jazz Club last night Friday 6th October at the Ampitheatre A fantastic family friendly night out with extremely talented musicians and singers. I wish more people would have came it was such a privilege to have a free event in a wonderful setting with such magnificent talent.... We're so blessed to live in this wonderful city and I do not regret moving here in 2006 ever

Love Yagan square for a quick train visit to the city. It does cop a bit sun but there is also some shade. Toilets can be difficult to use (they were locked today, accessible by security).

Today I visit Yagan Square for the first time since it's completion. It wasn't crowded, possibly due to the time of day I chose, it was quite a lovely space to walkthrough and enjoy. The areas created would be perfect to sit and enjoy a short break in your busy day or to have a picnic lunch on a nice day as today was. Yagan Square makes a wonderful entrance to the CBD of Perth from busy Northbridge.

Woooow! Such an amazing place! We come up from Busselton, and our first place we visit is Yagan Square Wonderland! We had so much fun with the rides and the games, then there is the amazing rooftop water playground! It's so incredible! All the amazing places to eat as well! We just couldn't pick! I recommend this gem of a place to anyone who's in the city and wants to just sit back and relax for a while before heading home. Loved it here!

Family fun zone. Mini sideshow, food and kids rides. Free to get in, but you buy tokens for rides. Royal show type atmosphere. Small selection of showbags, some stalls to buy unusual handmade goodies. Keep the kids happy for an hour.

Roof top play ground in the CBD, perfect for children to play and explore amongst the building. There is water play if you have bathers. Toilets close by.

Great atmosphere. Exceptionally designed space with uniquely australian Architecture. Great little food court and public spaces around and within the Square. Definately a place to visit during the day and also during the night as the feel of the location changes throughout the day.

This place is beautiful at night. On the upper level you will be able to see the busy night life below. Lots of foods and drinks stores to tried out. They all pretty amazing. 10/10 will always come back.

Why are the water jets off on a stinking hot summer's day while kids are out of school? Why is there a dude with a leaf blower in the middle of the day cleaning up leaves while we're having lunch? Can't that be done after hours? Not a bad spot other than that

Yagan Sqaure is Perth's latest venture in modern civil architecture. It's a wonderful little space, that has suffered a bit due to COVID, and it currently undergoing some revamping. It's still one of my favourite haunts when I want to kill some time near the CBD

Am a volunteer community support worker within the Aboriginal community in Perth. This us where I go to hang out with some different Abiriginal Communities. Word has now spread, and different mobs, and their people come talk to me, which is awesome. I watched the amazing fireworks ๐ŸŽ‡๐ŸŽ† on New Year's Eve 2022. Git Video footage, but way to long for F.B. to accept it :(

Street Eats down Horseshoe Lane is always good. Especially the $7 pints. I found the food is better during the day. Must have a different chef at night. Meals are still ok, though.

Great adventure play ground up the top! Water play, soft play, slides, scopes, tunnels, small climbing wall. The best spot for a play in the centre of Perth.

  • 4/5 A G. 3 years ago on Google
This place continues to link the city to Northbridge seamlessly. It feels safe to walk through, is open and airy, with enough 'nooks and crannies' up and down, for it to remain interesting. Haven't walked through in summer heat but some shade will probably help.

Yagan Square is a place that is under construction, and as such the fumes from diesel trucks is quite bad and they seem to run machinary when people eat and that is not good. the few venues that are open are quite good, I tend to eat at Shoe once a week the coffee downstairs is good, the service excellent sometimes the diesel fumes get a bit much so we leave earlier than we usually intend

The park at the top is not practical at all the kids binoculars are to high that kids cannot even see out of them. I most definitely will not be returning here again at night-time it feels very unsafe and is very scary especially for children children in underwear swimming in the water features certainly not something that should be happening the middle of the city not a nice place at all

Awake 2023 with #bonifacioaurio performed at Yagan Square for a free public event alongside other interstate and international instructors and dancers with Perth locals. It was a great venue with plenty of open space to perform, stage for the music and singing as well as ample seating for the audience. Affordable parking is a few minutes walk away with two CCP parking options nearby.

great place in the middle of the city. the food options in the new section are really good despite not being that busy often... eaten at Street Eats, Hiss n Smoke, Troublemaker, the Shoe etc and very happy with all of them

This is a place of many faces! They've done it up really well, and the christmas lights are amazing at the moment. Some days and nights it's really good to walk around and explore, other times you get a lot of crime and police issues. It's the luck of the draw with this area. If you are planning to walk through here on a Friday or Saturday night, have your wits about you and keep your bag close. If you have to walk through here during the day for work, you may get some verbal thrown at you. Then there are times when they get amazing attractions in and the whole area is lit up and welcoming. Those times are fantastic ๐Ÿฅณ The police have stepped up to make this area more safe, but you can't win them all. It's a start! This really is a luck of the draw place where you roll the dice on what you get to experience!

Not much going on really. A couple of good bars, but mainly a connection between CBD and northbridge or Perth train station. Might be better once surrounding construction finishes.

This place was an absolute waste of money to build. Places like this are just to put a band aid on a bad part of Perth. This is the governments terrible planning and brainchild. Nothing but a place for homeless and vagrant people. Lots of drunks there also with street fighting going on there to regularly. Not a place to take your family with way over priced places to eat and a bad vibe.

This is a vibrant public space in the heart of the city, offering a unique and dynamic shopping, dining, and entertainment experience. The square features an array of food vendors, cafes, and restaurants, with cuisines from all over the world. The outdoor seating area is spacious and shaded, making it a perfect place to relax and enjoy a meal or drink. The square also has a large digital tower display that provides interactive entertainment, as well as a performance stage for live events and performances. The facilities are well-maintained, and the staff are friendly and helpful. Overall, Yagan Square is a must-visit destination for anyone looking for a unique and exciting experience in the heart of Perth.
