The whole family enjoyed their time at this magnificent place. Taking a tour is recommended as you get to see and understand more. Nice place. Location is easy to find. Close to other attractions too. Recommended

Highly recommend The Perth Mint tour. Our eloquent tour guide made the entire tour and history so interesting. Absolutely fascinating watching him pour liquid gold to make an ingot. Fabulous place, well worth a visit.

The Perth Mint was overall, quite an enjoyable experience. The tour provided a wealth of information about the history of gold in Western Australia, and I found it fascinating to learn about the significant role this region has played in the gold industry. One particularly intriguing highlight was discovering that The Perth Mint houses the largest piece of gold in the world. The tour also included a captivating segment where the guide demonstrated the process of melting and crafting gold, which added an entertaining element to the visit. It was truly impressive to witness the skills and dangers involved in working with this precious metal. However, I must mention that the tour fee for our group, consisting of three seniors, one adult, and one child, amounted to $94. While the experience was informative and engaging, the price may be a factor to consider, especially if you have other plans or attractions you wish to explore in Perth. Additionally, The Perth Mint features a jewellery shop where you can access without purchasing a ticket. However, as someone who isn't particularly fond of jewelry, I decided to skip this part of the visit. Nonetheless, for those interested in acquiring gold jewelry, this could be a noteworthy stop. All in all, The Perth Mint offers a short yet informative tour that sheds light on the history of gold and its significance in Western Australia. If you have an interest in gold or are looking for an educational experience, it's worth considering a visit. However, if you have budget constraints or aren't particularly drawn to the subject matter, you may want to explore other options in Perth. Take note that the tour timings are 9.30am, 10.30am, 11.30am, 12.30pm, 1.30pm, 2.30pm.

The Perth Mint might not sound like it should be on peoples list of places to see in Perth but you'd be wrong. Our tour guide was great in telling us the interesting history of the building, fossicking and the timeline of minting currency in Australia and worldwide. There was an impressive collection of coins, historical items and stories, followed by a gold pouring demo. This gold pouring demo alone was well worth the ticket.

It's a nice one hour tour. Easy to get there in Hay Street in the CBD. You get to see some incredible specimens and coins, and know a brief history about the place. An actual demonstration of melting/producing a gold bar like it happened back in the old days. Recommended and won't take much of your time ...

Perth Mint is a great experience for everyone young and old. My 9 year old son and I loved it. The tour is 50mins and worth the price, you learn so much and it's fun plus you get take home souvenirs and it's interactive. Job well done guys ! Great knowledge, you get to see and do a bit. Definitely recommend

It is a small gold processing facilty/museum in the middle of Perth. The day tour consists of an hour worth of activity inside the museum showing Australia's gold mining history. Inside you can see the largest gold coin in the world, actual melting and processing of gold bar, and actually try to lift a 14kg gold bar. Its an experience everyone should try.

Hugely disappointed! One star because I can’t leave a zero star review! No tours on due to COVID restrictions and it’s not mentioned on the website or Facebook page. If we’d known we would have postponed our visit. Officious staff insisting we redo our SafeWA registration on arrival as she didn’t see the green screen proving we’d done it. Looks like she’s had her face mask from day one and it hadn’t been washed, was also wearing it under her nose! No issues with the COVID restrictions in place and happy to adhere to all rules btw. #staysafe everyone So essentially visited a very expensive shop! Won’t be back!

Such a fantastic landmark in Perth. Recently had friends come to visit, and as a local, I had completely forgotten how fascinating and well planned out the Mint is. The tour guide - Greg - was a delight and provided us with so much information.

The Perth Mint is amazing! Visit part of WA's history. The one hour gold tour is captivating, informative and well worth your time. Our guide, George, was a terrific storyteller! The exhibit is great. The gift shop sells unique items. There is also the chance to purchase a medallion with custom engraving – a perfect gift for someone or a souvenir for yourself. Excellent!!

Our visit to the Perth Mint was an unexpected delight. The history is fascinating and the exhibitions very well curated. It was great to watch a genuine gold pour. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour with Jon. He was very engaging and enthusiastic, a born performer. He was a good storyteller and communicated clearly. His strong voice was greatly appreciated with such a big tour group.

The Perth Mint, the house of Gold, built during the Gold rush in the 1800's. A beautiful place and a heap of history, and presented by amazing tour guides. All of the staff are really helpful and have a buzz of energy about them. Overall a great experience with some mind blowing facts. On another note that really suprised me, was the jewellery store inside. I didn't expect to see high end Argyle Diamonds or other notable brands in there. I mean it goes hand in hand with Gold, but it wasn't expected. Seriously go have a look. Also Jeff was an amazing tour guide, very knowledgeable and a good cheeky Aussie sense of humour, making the Gold Pour Tour well worth the visit.

Very clean, lots of shopping options. The tour was very short. We spent 20 minutes sitting outside getting some stories. A brief viewing of exhibition items. Then a gold pour and the tour was over. I would have liked to see more.

This is a brilliant tourist attraction in the CBD. Amongst the tall, modern buildings you’ll find this historical and beautiful building. Brimming with interactive and informative exhibits, the Perth Mint is fun and educates children and adults alike about the discovery and processing of gold in the state of WA. I’d recommend a guided tour and a viewing of a gold pour (how they make gold bars). If you’re polite you can also get a free memento in the form of a gold coin!

This is the first place, which i explored in Perth. As a Numismatist, I have wondering for long time to see this heritage site. Their staffs are amazing. I have totally enjoyed the tour and the freshly printed souvenir. Moreover the world's largest one ton coin is outstanding. Must visit place in WA.

Probably the best short tour of its type I’ve experienced. Guide Fred and Gold pour demonstrator Oliver we’re both excellent. Humorous without overly so. The tour included some simple but effective interactive elements that aided understanding of gold and the work of the mint. There was more to see and learn apart from gold. I was surprisingly taken by the Argyle Pink Diamonds. The picture is of a very small one for sale at over $250,000. (Maybe next pay😀)

This place was really interesting. We loved to know about the history of the gold and the miners in Perth. We respect the elders and those who were there before us and work to serve the country and build what we can see now. The tour guide was amazing, very kind and friendly. We also spent a lot of money on the shops there, so many pretty things, difficult to choose just 1.

This is one of the landmarks you don’t want to miss. The Perth Mint was built in 1899 and is Australia’s official mint for gold, silver, and other precious metals. It was constructed after the Sydney Mint and Melbourne Mint by the British Empire during colonization. The construction was finished two years before Australia’s Federation and it now belongs to the State of Australia. The architectural style is described as Federation Romanesque Style. The front of the building is decorated with stone and a lot of arches, while the balconies are filled with intricate columns. They give a lot of different tours, all around the natural treasures of Perth and of Australia. I went on the “Treasures of WA – Gold and Pearls” tour. Visitors get to see many exhibits made from pure gold plus the gold nuggets and the world’s largest gold coin! Then we got to watch someone melting gold and turning it into a gold bar. After that we went on with the trip and watched the pearl harvest. It is interesting to see how a pearl is harvested from the oyster and there is no better place, since the Kimberley region is well known for its pearls.

Would be great if the Perth Mint could employ more staff to answer the phones. I called three times today, each call waiting 20 minutes plus and each time I couldn't reach anyone. I wanted to check if they had an item available in store before getting myself down to their store only to find out what I want is out of stock. I decided not to bother, they must be so busy with very long phone ques.

Excellent visit to the mint while visiting Perth recently. The guided tour was excellent and very informative about the history of gold mining and minting coins around Perth. The biggest coin was quite something as was being weighed to see how much you are worth if you were made of gold! The gold pouring display was really good and you come away with a printed ‘coin’ from the mint as a souvenir. There was a nice shop on site and you can even trade in any gold you have spare! The mint is situated in the centre of Perth, so really easy to access. If you’re in Perth the mint is well worth a visit.

Excellent place to visit if you’re in Perth. We loved the guided tour which had a lot of interesting facts and Paul was an engaging Guide with a lot of knowledge. The walking tour was easy and took about 1hour all up which included a seated session about gold pouring and the lovely female guide made a solid gold bar in front of us. She was great and also very entertaining. She e also had a special customised sterling silver coin made as a souvenir (that’s a seperate cost) because we were on our honeymoon. Also The Mint is easy to get to by bus in the CBD. Def recommend.

Excellent 45-min tour, hit way above expectations. See the world' largest gold coin, hear the stories of the world's largest nuggets, test your hand at holding a real gold bar, measure your worth of your body weight in gold, and watch an expert pour actual molten gold to make a gold bar. Fabulous, even the kids liked it.

First time posting a review in my life. been there many times, 99% of experiences were excellent. Today I went there to pick up some conis for my partner. My partner told me, he placed the order under his name and told the staff I would pick up the coins. I couldn't provide the order number as my partner changed his email, I assumed the email either sent to the junk or their staff sent the reciept to the old email. The lady in the counter tried to look for the order thru his name but she couldn't find it. She took my license and asked if it's placed under my name while I was talking to my partner. Then I heard the loudest sigh in my life from her while she was walking away to check the order. Luckily, she found out the order was placed under my name instead. She nicely explained to me, the order was placed under my name would help us to pick up the order easier. (That wasn't told on the phone while my partner placed the order.) I think there must be some miscommunication. Anyway, I totally understand everyone has emotions, just hope the sigh wasn't that loud (if that's for me), or sigh after I left the counter. Thanks.

(由 Google 提Popular with adults and children, the Perth Mint offers a fascinating glimpse into the history of gold in Western Australia. The Gold Exhibition displays the world's largest coin, weighing a whopping one-tonne, as well as gold nuggets and bullion. In the 1899 melting house, you can watch pure gold being poured to form a solid bar, and you can also ogle the largest collection of gold nuggets in the Southern Hemisphere. Hourly guided talks provide fascinating insight into the discovery of gold in the state and the history of the Perth mint, and the tours include a short film. You can even find out your weight's worth in gold. After your visit, stop by the gift shop for unusual souvenirs or enjoy a Devonshire Tea at the cafe.

Australia’s official bullion mint, the Perth Mint makes for a marvellous insight into the history of bullion in Australia. A visit to this old monument in Australia will probably never be as exciting as it is to the Perth Mint. Offering walking tours through the historic chambers, taking you through the processes such as the pouring of gold in the melting house, and indeed educating you on the glorious history of the bullion minting in Western Australia. The Gold Exhibition, or the live gold pour or the heritage walk all make for a wonderful experience. Then you can go on to engrave your own custom medallion, and check out the marvellous One Tonne Gold Coin at the heart of the mint. If you are travelling Perth, your trip to the Perth Mint will definitely be memorable.

Overall it's a unique experience. However, the tour was a bit shorter than I expected, and the collection on display was quite a bit smaller than the other museums in Perth, making the ticket a little bit overpriced. BTW, after lifting a real gold bar yourself, you would realise how ridiculous those bank heist scenes in movies can be. I don't think any normal human being can carry a large bag filled with dozens of bullions like nothing and can still run or fight 😅
