This is a beautiful surround! I enjoyed the memorial and exploring the surrounding area. There was some light show in preparation, would probably be much more lovely in the weekends! Highly recommend trying out the escooters here, such an enjoyable way to tour the area!

A place always emotional thinking of those who paid with their lives for our freedom. King's Park is more pleasant to walk around.

State War Memorial at Kings Park Visited on 25/5/2022 Visitors to the Kings Park will notice the 18m granite obelisk, with the Swan River in the background. The Returned and Services League (RSL) is the custodian of the memorial. I never feel comfortable to see lists of names of men and women who died in wars. What a waste of precious lives due to humans' irrational behaviour. While memorial like this reminds us of the cruelty of wars, humans do not learn any lesson at all: new wars and conflicts continue to take place, lives continue to perish. Lest we forget. The latest casualties include those who died in Afghanistan, Iraq, Fiji and Solomon Islands.

Lovely place to take the family or walk on a date. Shows the best views of Perth and lovely to see sunrises and sunsets. Very clean and well managed. You can no longer walk inside underneath though, not sure why.

What can you say. It's so spiritual, special, wonderful, and a grounding experience. All Australians should visit here, as with the Australian War Memorial in Melbourne along St Kilda Rd. There are others of course in other capital cities. Canberra's is the best.

A large and imposing war memorial. The ground level lists names from many conflicts. The Memorial itself is very imposing, located overlooking the Swan River to the east and south. Reflect upon the significance of the memorial while taking in the panoramic CBD views.

An inspiring memorial erected after ‘The Great War’. Be sure to walk around the back and enter beneath the memorial where the names of those who made the ultimate sacrifice are engraved. A beautifully maintained area of Kings Park with excellent views of the City and Swan River.

Walk up King's Park and arrive at the beautiful state war memorial - with 62,000 knitted poppy flowers- red ones each representing a soldier that died during World War 1, white ones for the nurses and the purple ones for the animals that passed away. You get a beautiful view of the city and the Swan River from this height. The experience is worthwhile! The experience of the city being beautifully lit up during the night is something that could make one go speechless.

Beautiful. This spot holds a lot of history, offer many excellent photo opportunities and has the best views of the city available. Highly recommended for visitors to Perth or locals, even on a cloudy day you'll get great views of the Swan River and City of Perth. Take some time to stand in silent contemplation by the pool of reflection and the eternal flame.

A beautiful and tranquil location to honour all our brave men and women who lost their lives fighting for our freedom. Well looked after memorial plaques with all our fallen Western Australians who fought in the Wars. RIP our brave Australians. You all deserved so much more life!!

Lots around this area of kings park to explore. And some fantastic views across the city. The war memorial has some great memorials and information of the different services they were created to remember.

The view is spectacular, the gardens are brilliant, the memorial is very well done, a nice tribute to the men and women who fought for this country. Make a special trip up to kings park, the views of the city and the river are worth it. The tree top walk is great. In the summer there are often concerts on in the park, there are also places to eat, and plenty of playgrounds for the kids. Just all in all it’s a great place to spend the day.

The War Memorial, located on Mount Eliza in Kings Park overlooking the Swan River, is one of Kings Park's most iconic features which was completed in 1929. Usually attracting over 40,000 visitors for the ANZAC Day Dawn Service annually, although covid has changed this over the last few years. The Flame of Remembrance is located within the Pool of Reflection and is surrounded by orange marigold flowers. The orange blooms express passion, deep feelings, optimism, good luck and also symbolizes grief, despair and mourning. Have you experienced the Whispering Wall?  The parting of the curved walls create the entrance to the War Memorial's Court of Contemplation. Sit at one end of the walled seat and person sitting at the other end of the wall can clearly hear your conversation when made close to the wall. This wall was dedicated by Queen Elizabeth II in 1954. The Honour Avenues are lined with approximately 1800 magnificent trees. At the base of each tree, lies a plaque in dedication to an individual service personnel who gave their lives while serving in time of war. "At the going down of the sun and in the morning. We will remember them." - Laurence Binyon Ode from For the Fallen. #Officially_perth

A beautiful and solemn memorial. We were here for the Anzac day Dawn service. It was a beautiful ceremony as we watched the sun rise over the city . If you are ever considering attending a dawn service I would highly recommend the one held her each year in late April. Dont forget to bring your camera to catch the beautiful autumn sunrise.
