Amazing place to visit with so much history here. I never knew Maylands had so much history until coming here and exploring this peninsula farm / Tranby Cottage. Well worth of visit to explore the farm and then go for a lovely relaxing stroll along the pathways by the river or drop in to the cafe next door. A beautiful spot with so much history so close to the city, Parklands and the Beautiful Swan River

Lovely, quiet location right on the river. Cafe currently open with basic, but tasty options. Unfortunately the house itself wasn't open on the day we went. Check the National Trust website prior to going to make sure this doesn't happen to you. Enjoyed the atmosphere though.

The absolute cutest place with great service. However menu needs a revamp the food kinda sucks. For how beautiful the scenery is the menu needs to be better (no eggs benny).

I’ll be perfectly honest, they need to review the quality of the coffee and find something better. But I was very impressed with the gluten free cake selection (four options on the day I visited) and it is a beautiful establishment and view with a lovely afternoon breeze. I would recommend a visit but stick to the tea.

I've been to a lot of high teas in Perth and this is one of the least impressive and not great value. it looks like the owners have a tight reign on the budget judging by their selection of cheap bought in supermarket cakes. Theres also too much sweet and not enough savoury. I'd recommend going to Crown casino or Hyatt. It's not bad but its not great. It's an old open air building situated close to the river but no real views of the river. As its open air it's not suitable in very hot weather or rain. Not much choice of specialist teas & hard to get the staffs attention to top up tea or milk (common high tea problem in most places).

The Peninsular Farm Cafe- Under new ownership, this place has been revived to its best. Lovely peaceful pet friendly atmosphere on the waters edge of the upper Swan River. Good selection of food, snacks, desert and coffee. Great place to relax and enjoy the surroundings with family and friends and of course your fur baby will love it too.

Lovely place for a small events, picnic followed by a nice walk. The restaurant is lovely with great music and ambience. Be careful with the parking - we saw 3 cars get a fine for parking in a no parking zone!

Super popular and busy. Nice new Reno. Coffee, juice and toasted sambo were good. I look forward to going back for breakfast.

We did the tour yesterday & absolutely loved it. G was a supurb guide with a welcome insight for visitors that have an appetite tales of Perths' founding families that arrived on the Tranby. Learnt alot and recommend the experience.

This Cafe is in a lovely location with a view of the river. Staff were friendly and helpful and the food we ordered was very nice. The children's area is excellent and keeps the little ones busy while you can sit nice and close to keep an eye on them. A nice relaxing place for a coffee or lunch.

As expected, very busy on the public holiday long weekend. At least 45min for a seat and 20min for a takeaway coffee. Nice coffee thankfully! Limited parking but found more parking drive further up on the right.

As a part of my Sperm Donation Australia Tour came here after I was on the Channel 9 Today show that morning, I was feeling quite parched and had an awesome refreshing mango smoothy.

Loved this place, went on the weekend, the food and coffee were great, a bit of a walk to the venue due to a busy car park but well worth the stroll!

This is a spectacular cafe. What more could you want? Lovely old colonial buildings which have been faithfully maintained. You can dine inside or outside. Great food under beautiful oaktrees, awesome river views and the staff are amazing! Respectful, cheerful and give great service. Lots of grass for children to play on and paths to explore the the river after dining. Pet friendly. Your furbaby even gets a treat of biltong! (staff ask first) A beautiful and tranquil venue with disability access which is great as we had 2 wheelchairs in our group. Have wanted to try this venue for ages and finally had the opportunity last Sunday. Was not disappointed. Even though it was busy with a 30 minute wait we were seated within 15 minutes! (They have chairs on the grass so you can enjoy the river views while you wait.) Will come again as I want to do the Farm Museum tour on a day it is open. Enjoyed my outing so much I forgot to take photos, will do so next time.

Shout out to our local - I love my Wednesday coffee cake and business catchup days here. Also love bringing friends and family when the occasion calls for it, though it gets sooo freaking busy... Just good people, good food, great coffee, love all round! I love you guys! Keep doing you! <3

Great place for a brunch. And for a stroll around the farm!!!! The big brekkie was amazing, and so were the scones. Dog friendly and staff were very accommodating. Highly recommended!

Cafe located on the Swan River in Maylands, it can be easily accessed from a carpark nearby or cycle paths. The offer table service and were quick to take our orders on a busy morning. We ordered coffee which came out quickly and were served hot. The venue is nice, has a good view of the river. There is a small play area to keep children occupied while you enjoy coffee and breakfast.

We went there in the early afternoon with my parents for afternoon tea to be greeted with we have down our tea and coffee machines and not serving any food I thought was very poor considering it was only 2pm in the afternoon and they left the sign out saying they are open;. Don't waste your afternoon there go to a nice cafe that stays open on the weekend.

Great place for kids and adults alike. And there is a picnic area alongside the car park, so don't forget to pack some lunch!

Great location on the Swan River. If your on the bike path or walking past stop in for a coffee and refreshments. It's strange though that it is closed on some public holidays like New years.

Extremely disappointing, cafe potential is huge with its amazing location on the Swan River and heritage, however current cafe was poor, we ordered food and coffees, poor presentation, food was disgusting, coffee was like dirty water and no prices displayed ..Now we know why... Sorry but we won't be back...

I really enjoyed visiting this homestead. The tour guides are very knowledgeable and friendly. I gave myself a whole hour to meander through , asking a ton of questions throughout. It's quite hot in there during summer.

Beautiful heritage area - although we did not come for the actual Farm Cottage tour. We came for High Tea at the Tea Garden. Lovely setting with the option to sit outside overlooking the lawns and river. Service was good. A good selection of loose leaf tea and infusions. Lots of food on the a High Tea service tray which was impressive and quite yummy. However when the tea arrived in the silver pots the handles were wrapped in a paper napkin which looked really odd and cheap. It was meant to be a protective barrier but it didn't last long and we were left trying to deal with a very very hot handle. Also, the weight of the tea pot requirs you to put your hand in front of it as well, but it's on the hot metal so you can't. Suggestion would be proper tea cozies for the tea sets which allow guests to serve their own tea when they want to refill their teacup.

Beautiful spot on a spring day to eat food, gaze at the tranquil Swan River and contemplate the lives of the early settlers.

They have just reopened this week. This review page is a mix of old and new reviews/photos from before the renovations that happened recently. Beautiful!! The vibe of this place is immaculate, like Hamptons picnic! The renovations were so well done and it is perfectly shady and breezy on a hill overlooking the river. There are inside and outside tables on the paved area. There is also a children's cubby house, well stocked with Lego duplo, and play foods. Nicely shaded with old oak trees. I was looking forward to the Devonshire tea ($8one person, $15two people), but they had run out of scones! Ended up getting the grazing board($45), iced coffee with icecream($7), and a Bazinga juice ($9.50). Juice was fresh and icey, the coffee came with a generous scoop of ice cream. The grazing board came with three cheeses, some fruit (grapes and strawberries), olives, a couple of savoury corn fritters, chicken terrine, prosciutto, some pickled veg (carrots and fennel), and bread. It was nice, pretty standard. The chicken terrine tasted like rotisserie chicken from Coles/woolies and the corn fritters kind of tasted like the stuffing. I was expecting the Fritters to be warm but they were straight from the fridge maybe this affected their texture which was kind of doughy. We would have appreciated more bread for the amount of other things on the board. We ordered extra bread (2 slices for $4) so the board ended up being $49. Overall it is a lovely venue. The atmosphere was really great, and prices were worth paying for the view and ambiance. It's great to see that it was so busy just after re-opening. Would be so nice to have a glass of wine on a balmy evening or a slow lunch!
