Beers are excellent and food is very good. Regrettably the downfall of this place is the staff. They are so rude and unwelcoming every single time. Upon asking a question or querying about beer selection, they are quite dismissive. After this last visit, I am not sure we are coming back, as a staff member by the name Dylan rolled their eyes a upon being asked for tomato sauce, which we found not only rude but disrespectful...

Took the family here to try it out as it was recommended to me. It was alright.. The place was packed and very loud! The staff were friendly but I'd much rather have ordered through an actual person than having to download a QR scanner just to order on my phone? My partner said his chicken parmi wasn't the greatest, not something he would he ever order again, and I got the mussels and garlic bread, the cheesy garlic bread was great and the mussels were delicious! BUT by the time I got home an hour later, I've been stuck in the bathroom for 4 hours..... It was the only thing I've eaten in over 24 hours so I know it wasn't anything else. The drinks were great they definitely focus more on the bar side. Wouldn't go here again but thanks for the experience.

Terrible food. How can you ask someone to pay money for this kind of stuff. You call that a salad? Is your chef too lazy to mix it? Pretty sure chicken schnitzels aren’t meant come With bones. Also too hot in here.. it’s 30 degrees outside with all the doors and windows shut and no aircon on. Just a average ceiling fans on a slower speed.

The 1kg pot of mussels was beyond expectation, highlight of the trip to Perth. Cozy atmosphere with a quiz night ongoing in the background. My Belgian colleague gave a big thumbs up for the Belgian frites (fries).

(Translated by Google) Very nice Belgian tavern right in the center of Perth. It offers a wide range of Belgian beers. Good atmosphere, during my visit a lot of people were dancing in front of the bar it was magnificent. The restaurant is also good, we ate well, the prices are correct and the staff are friendly.

Had my 50th Birthday party here last night. Fantastic!!! Couldn't have picked a better spot to hold it. Naomi was a fabulous coordinator and made sure our every need was catered for. Not a single complaint from my guests. I was blown away by the platters (see pic) and the food was delicious. Can't praise the Belgian Beer Cafe crew enough. They even packed up the leftovers for us. Such a wonderful experience!

Went in to try their food & beer. However, the beer we wanted to try from the beer menu wasn’t available on the day. We ordered Fish & Chips and Burrata dish for lunch. The fish & chips has huge portion & decent fish. Sadly the tartare sauce has lack of flavour. Burrata was alright with their honey black garlic sauce & tomato pesto but the grilled sourdough was very stale & dry so it made the whole dish sad. The temperature inside the pub was so high since it was a very hot day when we went in. Probably no air conditioning to keep the indoor dining area cool Overall, pretty average experience.

One of my favorite bars 🍸 when I come to visit Perth. An overall great atmosphere with a great selection of European 🇪🇺 Beers on Tap. Friendly Bar staff too which is rare these days. Keep up the great work 👍

Edit: They stopped serving the steak sandwich and the replacement beef baguette is nowhere near as good. Bit disappointing to be honest as the steak sandwich was a classic! Please bring it back 🙏

A good place for beer but not for food. I like the vibrant atmosphere there but the mussels and chips are just so so.

The beer is good, smooth, the food is just about ok. Considering the portion, flavour, price, this is just a normal bar, bit pricy type for flavour. Can visit, if you walk passing by.

Cool atmosphere and pub vibes. Obviously as the name suggests the pub is focused around European beers. Went here to watch the Matilda’s play and got a seat in the beer garden. Ordered some snacks including the anchovies, which were lovely if you like anchovies. Worth a visit if you are in Perth.

This is a local hangout after dance training at Kings St Art Centre for our dance team as it’s conveniently located on the corner of Murray St, a few minutes walk from KSAC and CPP free parking on weekends and after 6pm weekdays. Two of the team were having the popular cherry beer on tap, so I had a large one too $17 - I think I like beer now! Highly recommended 😉 Meals are reasonably priced and we bought the houmous dip plate $14, squid $16, chips $13 & garlic bread $14. Service was friendly & they brought our drinks out to us from the bar once ordered. Only panic moment was in the toilet when I couldn’t access the locked toilet paper! - see video on how to open the toilet compartment 😅. #belgianbeercafe

Awesome place in the city, can get very busy in the afternoons, quite a wide selection of Belgian beers and western beers. The place itself offers also outdoor seating as well with a smoking area annexed.

Came here for dinner and chill .... Big space cafe I must say. The staff are friendly... Ordered the mussels and waffles for dinner and they were yummy. There's a good selection of Belgian beer on tap (including La Trappe). There's also a backyard area where you can dine in a rustic atmosphere with natural light. Overall, it was a pleasant dining!

My recent experiences at this place have been inconsistent, and it's definitely not what it used to be. In the pre-pandemic days, it was always one of my go-to places in Perth. However, since then, a lot has changed, particularly when it comes to the food quality. I visited on a quiet Monday evening with only few other guests in the placd. I ordered the chili calamari and mussels in white wine sauce. Both dishes were OK, although the calamari was a bit soft (not crispy as expected). Disappointingly, when I decided to have dessert after finishing my meal around 8 pm, I was informed that the kitchen had just closed. I decided to give the place another go and returned on Thursday night, which happened to be much busier like most places in Perth. This time, I ordered the mussels in tomato sauce along with their Belgium-style fries. The food was served while I was at the bar to get another beer. Which wouldn't have taken more then 5 minutes at the most. Unfortunately, the chips were a major letdown. They were nowhere near the quality of the delicious Belgium-style fries they used to serve. Instead, they resembled average pub chips, slightly salty with numerous small and broken pieces, and about a third of them were overly brown. I only ate a few, and the rest remained untouched. Now, about the mussels. Despite ordering them with tomato sauce, I received the white wine sauce again. Moreover, unlike the steaming hot mussels I had on Monday, this time they were almost cold. The bread accompanying the mussels was so hard and brown that it seemed to have been toasted twice. Interestingly, the mussels served to the table next to mine and later to a table opposite me were piping hot, with steam still rising from them for quite some time. This suggests that the temperature of my mussels couldn't be attributed to the few minutes I spent at the bar getting a second beer. It's purely speculative, but to me it seems likely that my order, with its incorrect sauce and over-toasted bread, had been sitting in the kitchen for a while. However, I managed to finish the evening with a decent waffle and ice cream for dessert. Overall, I would rate my experience on Thursday night a 2 out of 5, and considering the entire week, I would give it a 3 out of 5. I won't be returning for a while, especially not for food, as there are plenty of other options available.

The best Belgian restaurant/cafe in town. The food was amazing. Their burger and the sausage plate is highly recommended. No need to even mention their big selection of beer menu.

Amazing place! We stayed in the Nightcap Belgian Beer Cafe and had a few dinners at Belgian beer cafe with a discount plus a few free drinks. First dinner we ordered a pork knuckle and it was a blast. Juicy inside with a crispy skin, came with veggies. I should worn you it’s huge! Easily can feed 3+ adults. We couldn’t finish and asked for a take away box. It’s gone next morning as an amazing cold cuts on sandwiches. Next night we had beef burgers, and they were awesome. For kids we took Belgian waffles and they were super delicious. Not greasy, not sweet, but crispy outside and tender inside with a beautiful butter cream caramel sauce, ice cream and cookie. I would highly recommend this place for its atmosphere and delicious food and beer.

We used to frequently visit here but due to a decline in the service and food it's been almost 5 years since our last visit but I must say we were pleasantly surprised. The service was excellent and the food and beer selection was very good also. We had a great night!

Our recent lunch at the Belgian was yet another great experience. I had the pork chops (Kassler) with the special mash (Stoemp). Exceptionally good quality meat done to perfection. This dish was massive. Could only fit in one pint.

So amazing!!! Great vibe and super kind staff, everyone had a great positive personality which is always so good to see. I have been there a few times and one of those times I caught up with my girlfriend and we played some scrabble in the corner of the tables and drank some amazing drinks whipped up for us by the staff. The atmosphere was so homey and made for quite a romantic but casual, comfy experience.

Hello I’m Tony what a pleasant bar restaurant. So very clean and tidy. Beers very cold. Food is amazing with a wow factor. Decor is amazing. A very child friendly place. It was a delightful experience to come to this place in the heart of the city.

  • 5/5 Nancy G. 3 years ago on Google
Dropped in for the first time on a hot Friday for lunch. Even though it was full, we were lucky enough to get a table. We had the fish and frites, veal schnitzel and the pork kassler. We were pleasantly surprised the meals arrived quick even though it was very busy. Loved the look of this old style pub, the decor and the old style ceiling fans. Only negative is the menu is small and the pork kassler dish was far too salty for my taste. Would recommend visiting this old style pub in the city for the fast service, perfectly cooked meals and well priced.

Apart from my thoughts that they need more variety of Belgian beers.... (I know, it's not economically smart to do that all this distance from there) Everything else was fantastic. Friendly, polite and professional staff, both on the tables and behind the bar. The food was great, as was the atmosphere.

I love this cafe! I have been many times and it has consistently served delicious food with a beautiful interior. I recommend the iced matcha latte drink, super smooth and a good matcha flavour . The croffle, "croissant waffle" is a favourite dessert too, flakey and buttery, both are very enjoyable! Some items can be a bit sweet, eg. sparkling fruit drinks, although not overpowering as they do use real fruit to make the syrup. It can get quite busy on weekends and friday nights so I suggest coming a bit earlier if you need a table.

My favourite bar in all of Perth, great food and excellent beers, can't fault it. I was there with a bunch of friend's a couple of weeks ago, we were served by a guy named Tiago, he was first class, great service, even when me and my friend's were drunk he treated us like gentleman, he truly has the patience of a saint. Would recommend any one with a desire for fine beer, good food and great service to go and check this place put.

Beer and mussels? Say no more. Was drinking my all time favorite beer, Belle-vue Kriek along a pot of very well steamed and delicious mussels with a side of frites while chilling outdoor on a lovely breezy Sunday afternoon, life couldn't get any better. Nice little beer garden out back. Preferred the seating on the front pavement, there are ample of indoor seatings. Good selection of beer and friend staff. Really want another Belle-vue Kriek just writing this review 😁

I only went here for a few drinks but I really liked the place. Drinks are well priced and the venue is very large, offering the ability to sit either inside, out by the street or in the back which has hearing provided and covering from the elements. If I had more time, I would loved to get a meal here.

6/11/21. Dropped in today for a late lunch. I've been going here for lunch and dinner on and off for absolute years. I've never been disappointed with the quality of the food or the value for money. It has a good range of beers but I was a bit disappointed that there is no Heineken 3 today given the types of beer the bar covers. It has become my goto place in the CBD for a reliably good meal with a couple of beers. The staff are always friendly and helpful and right on point. A good meeting point for a trip into town. This place never disappoints.

Met a friend for lunch and a couple of beers over lunch. Staff were great, friendly and helpful. Courtyard was a nice place for beers and chat, though very few patrons. Everything was good ordered a burger which came with fries. The burger was enjoyable but the fries had been reheated, honestly guys reheated fries have a stale taste and is noticeable

Great selection of beer and ordering from table with QR code was very effective. A lunch time rush meant tables were not cleaned very quickly and the trigger happy staff member with the spray and wipe does need a little direction! Closest I have been to getting spray and wipe in my drink and mouth. Food took a while but was absolutely fab and fresh when it arrived! Supervisor was very apologetic about how busy they were. Can only assume staff were off with COVID so giving them the benefit of the doubt

Great pub in Perth CBD but disappointed that the majority of outside tables (out the back are reserved) on a Friday arvo. We would have loved to sit outside but had to make do with inside. We spent 2 hours there and none of the reserved tables were used during that time.

Wednesday evening. Arrived 21:20, ordered 1 round of beers, go to order another round at 21:40- BAR IS CLOSED. You know what? Even if your opening hours are until 00:00 and you decide to close early because no clients thats fair enough. But not doing a last round call? Informing us this is the only round we can get when we arrive at the bar ? Thats very unprofessional in my opinion. Took an uber for the outing and had to return 30 minutes after. Maybe a new shift manager should be hired.

From our experience last night it was excellent. We only came in for drinks but the service was good. It's wasn't packed which was a bonus for me. Drink prices were fair. I thought it was great. Only improvements would be, stop reserving tables and keep the tables cleaner.

Used to come here often. Tonight I got "There are no more drinks please move along." Not coming back here again. To clarify, we were seated at a table and were about to finish our drinks (first drinks of the night, not drunk). There are ways to say this in a polite way, like "sorry we would like to clean up, I hope you had a good night, see you next time"

Wait staff were exceptionally rude Meals were late coming out and then blamed us for having to cook an extra meal when we were just waiting for the last meal to come out. Told 5 of our group to get lost. Food and drinks for 15 people, think they would have been a bit nicer. Would never go to this place again and I will make sure I tell everyone about this disgusting experience

A lot of people I know endorse this place, so I might have come at an unfortunate time (a Thursday at 1 pm). The staff were not very friendly, rudely saying we should just take a table when we asked if they had space. We were not offered complimentary water, so when I asked (another staff) they looked annoyed but gave us a bottle. I came a second time, and not impressed with the hospitality. The chicken parm and fries were mediocre at best. In their favor, they've got a pretty cool selection of beers, and Stella on pint.

Kind of an ideal pub, in my opinion. Great range of beer, including authentic Belgian brews that are pricey, but not as expensive as I was expecting. The food is also excellent, the staff are friendly, the atmosphere is lovely, and they play exactly the music I'd like to listen to at this type of venue.

Myself, my partner and my parents have just had THE MOST fabulous Christmas Day lunch. Absolutely everything from the moment we stepped in (to Christmas 🤣) was brilliant! The food, the atmosphere all brilliant; but most of all the staff were incredible!! Thank you all so much for giving up YOUR day to make OURS so special. If I could give you a bazillion stars I would! 🤩🤩🤩🤩
