have
said,
the
service
and
atmosphere
are
fantastic,
and
the
drinks
menu
is
long
and
distinguished.
Unfortunately,
the
food
was
very
disappointing.
For
entrees,
we
had
the
duck
and
chicken
terrine,
and
the
mushroom
tart.
The
terrine
was
overly
salty,
and
the
mushroom
was
dessert-level
sweet
and
creamy.
For
mains,
we
had
the
duck
and
the
pork.
The
meats
themselves
were
cooked
and
seasoned
to
perfection,
but
the
flavours
surrounding
them
were
awful.
The
duck,
for
instance,
was
served
swimming
in
a
pool
of
grapefruit
syrup
which
ruined
everything
it
touched,
and
a
dollop
of
Nutella-esque
hazelnut
puree.
The
flavour
combinations
seemed
like
nothing
more
than
the
experimental
failures
of
a
casual
home
cook.
There
was
a
glaring
lack
of
subtlety,
and
the
end
result
was
a
set
of
dishes
far
worse
than
the
sum
of
their
parts.
A
fully
revamped
menu
would
do
wonders
for
this
place.
As
it
stands,
I
would
not
recommend
it
at
all,
especially
for
the
price.
PS
Who
the
heck
wants
a
long
black
after
dinner?
Get
a
damn
espresso
machine!
