I ate the cheesburger and was good. The service es good too, so easy to ask by phone the food and beverage and really fast. Well, I was alone in the venue asking food at 4pm. The toilets are really dirty… please, do it something with that because smells so bad.

From Scotland, was travelling the world the last 5 weeks, came from the “food capitol of the world” in Singapore and was left quite disappointed, however when I got to Australia I genuinely had THE BEST meals I’ve ever had in my life from The Generous Squire. The Hoppy Meal is a must-have, everything is cooked to utter perfection, the chicken tenders and the salad options are also out of this world. So good I could have eaten the plate it came on😂 Nothing comes close to the quality of food and service you get here, amazing prices too, you get nothing like this back in Scotland. We ate here every night we were in Perth, we even made a quick detour from the airport while waiting for our flight home for one last meal. MASSIVE props to Manuel behind the bar, he was an absolute gentleman & thank you for the pint glasses to take back home to Scotland (they survived)😂 I seriously cannot wait to come back and eat at this fantastic hidden gem of a restaurant ❤️

This place can get busy I'm sure. The food is solid and I really enjoyed it. Nothing overly fancy and technical here, just good honest pub favourites that pairs greatly with the on tap favourites made by James Squires. Pints are pricey here but it's to be expected for inner city popular places like this. Good pre gig location for RAC arena.

Had the burger tower between two and it was more than enough (definitely could have been between 3). Chicken tenders were huge but we were expecting full sized burgers so were a bit disappointed there.

It was a great place to stop by after work for a pint. Fifty lashes beer on tap. Portions were huge, great value for money.

Ok , so no issues with the beers. The Nacho's were shocking. No cheese??? I may as well have ordered a bag of crisps and paid $18. (See Photo) Service was atrocious. Ordered using QR code and after 20 min had to go and fetch my beer anyway. I would like to add to my review that my issue has been addressed in a very professional manner, and I will increase my service rating from 1 star to 5 stars. Its not always the issues that are annoying, its how the issues are dealt with. Well done

Great burger this month, "The Italian Job". Crispy salami and bacon, very tasty without being too huge.

This is a nice brewery that’s easily accessible situated in the city. There’s a wide selection of burgers and the special that was on was the Philly Cheese Steak burger. It was absolutely mouth watering and scrumptious with each bite taken. I will definitely check this place out if you’re looking for a good burger or a place to get drinks!

Visited from Melbourne to see my parents and so glad that we dropped in here. Beers and food were amazing! I had a mushroom blue cheese burger, which rates extremely high amongst the best veggie burgers I have ever had! Unreal! Also, the staff were so nice, welcoming and helpful - really was a lovely lunch and experience. Thanks heaps!

Best place I've been for a burger with the option for an accompanying cheese bath for not only your burger but fries or onion rings too. Nice live music, outdoor vibe area or quieter back restaurant area and even an upstairs function area with more bars

Have yet to try their food, so the 4 food stars are based on a trusted friend. The staff is amazing and the place has a cool design with a nice upper floor. Because it's a sport oriented bar with TVs showing footie, it pulls down the atmosphere for me personally. But for anyone who likes this, it might be a higher rating. They've got a cute outdoor seating area.

I genuinely had the best cheeseburger of my life last night at The Generous Squire. I just happened to be walking past and thought I'd give it a go. I ordered the "Hoppy Meal" which was great value. The cheeseburger was amazing, the tenders were delicious and perfectly done. All the staff I interacted with were friendly and attentive. Next time I'm back in town I'll be sure to visit again!

Good service and food quality. Had a couple issues with drinks orders but it looked like it was related to the QR code menus and the staff was quick to fix up all drinks after they noticed we were still waiting Will recommend as a good quality pub for large groups if you reserve the upstairs area

I came here on NYE with my partner for a nibble and a drink before going out, the food was super tasty and brought out really fast after ordering. It was also our anniversary and the staff gave us a complimentary drink which was a lovely surprise :) the staff were all so nice and friendly as well! Will definitely be coming back, cheers guys!

    1. no line-up to oder. so whoever speak up first gets to order first even thogh clearly you are there earlier. 2. i waited for my burger literally 1 hour. and i finally got it AFTER i talked about it. 3. beer and burger. taste nothing special.

The Generous Squire is situated in a small laneway between two major CBD streets so unfortunately you probably won’t stumble across this place. Thankfully it’s well known , and for good reason. The venue offers several dining areas and large bar with an open kitchen. Smashed Pattie’s were pretty good but probably a little to thin and crispy for my liking, but overall a great burger. Chicken tenders are the winner, would be nice if they did spicy tenders instead of just the hot sauce, but still, original tenders were very good! Prices are as to be expected for the location but you definitely don’t leave feeling you were ripped off. Will be back

Awesome venue, the bar staff were very catering in letting me and my brother try some beers before ordering. We ordered the no.67 burger with the cheese dipping sauce and was it a experience. Our food was spot on! Very generous sized portions that we couldn't pick any faults with. We did have a small weight for food but as they say, good things take time! Which wasn't a problem for us as we got carried away chatting over a cold beer with a good atmosphere.

I wish I could give you 10 stars the nicest cheese burger I've ever had!, the buffalo wings were incredible, even came back the next day to conquer the burger tower, AMAZING

Came for the wings & wasn’t disappointed. Buffalo sauce with blue cheese. Should of ordered the poppers as well… next time.

Honestly the best chicken, cheeseburger and Caesar salad I've ever had! So fresh and melts in your mouth. Multiple seating spaces for either a family night out, drinks or functions. The staff are so kind and passionate, i'll definitely be back !!

An amazing meal with my son, he couldn't belive the flavours in the burger. Staff were super friendly and helpful in selecting some good beer. Thank you for the great experience, we'll definitely be back.

Fantastic location in the CBD. James squire has been a solid regular local brewery for ages, enjoy it on tap! Burgers here are darn good, give them a go! Good sized meals. Got their snack pack today; cheese burger, potato and mash, two chicken tenders, and chips with tomato sauce and Frank's hot sauce. Delish. Chicken tenders are some of the best I've had, seriously hot fresh and crunchy and not oily. Come here for a feed and a burger.

Great pub in the heart of the city with selection of taps and huge menu.

  • 5/5 Trina L. 2 years ago on Google
The bar service was attentive and friendly. We had the mac and cheese bites - these were delicious and much larger than expected and had a flavoursome relish too. We also got the chips, they had a decent amount of salt/seasoning on them and I liked that they came with both tomato sauce and aioli without us asking.

Stumbled across this place after seeing it not as packed and the other bars and pubs nearby, which was the best decision ever! Thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor seating on the warm nearly-summers night while being entertained by the beginning of Perth's nightlife adventures. Excellent service by the staff, who was super helpful in recommending cocktails for these picky tastebuds!

Really enjoyed their burger tower, had 4 very full ppl at the table, could have filled 5 comfortably. On Thursdays it's even more value for money.

Decided to stop in for lunch, and absolutely no regrets at all... The atmosphere was really relaxed and pleasant, the staff were friendly, albeit not so attentive. The beers were great, but the food was AMAZING!!! Really fresh, really got and incredibly delicious, we were both so thankful we visited. Definitely want to come back again!!

Service was great, staff were super friendly, food came out quick and the place was really clean. The burger is the best I have EVER eaten. Juicy, tender and fresh. The cheese bath took it to a whole other level. The price is below what you would expect to pay. Highly recommend. We'll certainly be back 😀

I had the Constable for $22 last Thursday. The chicken was generously portioned, crunchy, juicy, and the hot sauce was nice and tangy. Fries were crispy and to die for. But...I really miss the amazing $19 Snack Pack. I would have been happy to pay a bit more for it, but it's just not available anymore. Our group would have settled for a few Burger Towers too, except it too is now unavailable outside of Sundays! I found myself wanting a bit of a bigger plate of food than just the Constable burger and fries, but couldn't find a way to order a small quantity of extra sides for myself with today's menu. Some of us also don't want to drink during lunch on Thursdays, so the new Hoppy meal isn't a great option. It's a real shame since the food quality was spectacular.

Grabbed there lunchtime special, which was a cheeseburger with chips, 2 chicken tenders and a side of mashed potato and gravy. And can say i was very impressed with the meal. In total all that was great value for $20. I would definitely go back again for that. I also tried the cheese and bacon loaded fries and while the serving was generous mine came out cold and simply lacking any cheese which was disappointing to say the least.

Good food, good beer, good god where did the time go. It feels exceedingly tucked in the corner then you see upstairs and it feels a bit more open. The burgers are better than grill'd which is just opposite it. The chips and the seasoning are very morish.

The Generous Squire, built on the legacy of Australia’s first brewer and situated in the heart of Perth City. 🍺 Featuring a fully functioning microbrewery, signature burger menu and perfectly paired beer list it’s the ideal spot for a post work pint, casual function or a meal with friends. The Mia tries are the burgers and the list of Pale Ales: One Fifty Lashes Pale Ale, The Swindler Tropical Ale, The Chancers Golden Ale and Mid River Pale Ale. Highly recommended 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

We were walking on Murray St on Fri nite, was attracted by the music from the pub and went in and took a look. At first thought it was a CD music but then discovered it was live music❤️ The guy was so awesome 😍 great voice and good range of songs. Me and my Sheila really enjoyed 🤩. Be back next Friday ;)

Went all the way to the city to get the cheeseburger, tenders, and mash and gravy $19 deal that was advertised for that day only to find out that the deal was not on that day because the chef was not in. However, the chef that was there was quite happy to cook a cheeseburger and chips which was basically the same deal for a marked up price.... Then told a 45 minute wait!! Also played 13 dollars for a pint. Absolutely ridiculous price! Plenty of decent places around the same area that are more reasonable in price. Will not be back.

A couple of us went on here for lunch and ordered burgers after hearing they were good. Didn't disappoint, I was actually surprised how good they were. Unfortunately it was about 45-60 minute wait which is not ideal when you're on your lunch break.
