πŸ‘πŸ‘ A true blue Aussie pub with a great atmosphere, very well laid out and well run. We were there on Thursday night for their spin the wheel give aways and had an absolute ball. Happy hour is Monday to Thursday from 4.30pm till 5.30pm. Bulmers cider goes down from $11.50 to $6 a pint during happy hour.... People often mention good, room, pool, great, staff,

A back to basics pub without pretention, cheap drinks, decent pool tables (free on Sunday) and some good banter. So much better than noisy brass and glass places with overpriced drinks.

A true blue Aussie pub with a great atmosphere, very well laid out and well run. We were there on Thursday night for their spin the wheel give aways and had an absolute ball. Happy hour is Monday to Thursday from 4.30pm till 5.30pm. Bulmers cider goes down from $11.50 to $6 a pint during happy hour. On Thursday every purchase from 5pm till 6pm gets a free raffle ticket. Then from 6pm till 7pm, Roger the manager draws as many tickets as he can. You can win all sorts of prizes from a whole cooked roast chicken, to a $100 bottle of spirts from the bottle shop. Only 1 golden egg $100 bottle a night is given away, but lots of drinks, whole chickens, Jagger bombs and bottles of wine given away. I had 4 tickets and won 2 x middys, which I turned into a free pint of Bulmers cider. Very happy. Pub is in a very good location with lots of parking and right across the road from the Maylands train station. Well worth a visit and we enjoyed it so much, we stayed much longer than we had planned. Two really nice pool tables for $2 games of pool and free pool tables all day Sunday. Limited food menu but nice chicken and hamburgers for only $8, which is great value. Allow extra time when you visit, because you won't want to leave.

I had my 50th birthday at Peninsula Tavern in the Nelson room. At first glance this room is dated but the space is really well set out with a large bar area, dance floor with party lights and disco ball, sound system, ample chairs and tables, and a fabulous break out area with lounges and event room specific bathrooms. I had around 90 people but we could have comfortably had up to 200. There is loads of parking behind the venue for guests and a door into the event room so guests don't have to walk through the main front bar. The bar staff were friendly and efficient, the event coordinator was so helpful and accommodating, and management were really intent on making sure we had all needs met and the function went smoothly. The customer service in this place is faultless. They allowed me into the room days beforehand to set up tables and chairs, and the day before to decorate, and that morning to meet up with companies setting up the dancefloor and sequin backdrop which reduced the work I had to do on the day of the party. They also allowed me to leave the pack up till next morning which was so much better than the end of the night. The only thing I'd give feedback on is the hot food platters need more variety and a few fancier options, but what came out was really delicious and enjoyed by all. I also think in summer some airconditioning over the dancefloor area might be required. I highly recommend this room to anyone wanting to book an event, it is a room with loads of potential when you have the creativity to decorate it well. Thank you so much to staff and management for faultless service on the night of my event, all guests are speaking highly of the venue.

Used the BWS drive thru bottle shop and service was fairly slow for only one other car in front of me. 2 staff members serving people. Prices were good however.

Used to be my local. The boi^s @ the BWS are lovely, swing past the TAB, chillin, but these days I do a walk thru the public bar, scan the beer garden and it's flat, grey. It's not got a vibe. Staff still sweet, I think they just banned too many people all the funsters have left the building.....

Check out this time capsule - surely it's days are numbered. Bit rough around the edges but you see the sense of community it has

One of the last old school drinking holes in Perth. Good place to lurk around at the bar or play pool.

It was terrible 20 years ago and it's even worse now. As I entered via the small outdoor seating area there was local customers openly using drugs.. the place stuck of marijuana. I don't care but its illegal and certainly not somewhere to bring the family. $8.40 for a can of Export..!! The most expensive Ive ever paid by far... It's just rough and rubbish.!! Take my advice and avoid like the plague, especially as there are so many other great pubs near by.
