Nearly needed a wheelchair when leaving the place as we ate so much. Who ever is the pastry/dessert chef deserves a gold star as the desserts were magnificent! Views of the city across the Swan are brilliant. We will be back for sure.

Had a very wonderful experience here! I booked a table for two on 20/04/2022 at 7:00pm. We ordered a dozen oysters and I loved their Russian baked oysters! It reminded me of lasagna. It was very warm and flavourful. The watermelon + lime granita oysters was unique! I was quite pleased with it, but would have preferred if the lime flavour was stronger to balance out the sweetness of the watermelon or add a little bit of salt. For entrees, we ordered the poached prawns and smoked beef carpaccio. The smoked beef went so well with its parmesan and capers. It felt like the beef was melting in your mouth because it was sliced so thinly and it was just amazing! I’ve had plenty of beef carpaccios around, but using smoked beef was definitely a very nice change in flavour. I highly recommend it, and is definitely a dish I would come back for. The poached prawns was nice, but would have preferred if it was seasoned a little. The most interesting element in that dish for me was the brandy soaked grapes! I enjoyed having that very light hint of alcohol flavour bursting with the grapes’ sweet juices when you bite into it. For mains, we ordered the beef fillet and grilled barramundi. The barramundi was cooked perfectly, and the skin had a very nice crisp to it. The mirin + miso butter sauce was so sensational; full of body with strong flavours of umami - but the potato + edamame mash balanced it out so well. It was definitely a wow dish for me. The beef fillet was cooked nicely to our medium-rare request. The potato tartiflette was delicious too, and the portion was just nice. With 5 dishes, 4 drinks + sparkling water ordered, our bill came to a total of $244 - which was way below what we were expecting to pay. I was expecting anywhere between $300-$400, but what a nice surprise! Amazing food, great pricing, wonderful service from staff, beautiful atmosphere within and stunning views outside. I would definitely come back and would be recommending this place to others. Much preferred it in comparison to Nobu or C Restaurant.

The food quality is great, two entrees we ordered are both very delicious. Staff here are super nice and friendly, kid-friendly. We had our wedding at the Boatshed restaurant on the 28th of December 2023 and from the point of first contact with Graham to picking up all our belongings the day after the wedding, everything was perfect. We had the ceremony on the banks of the river and then we all entered for the reception. Thank you for the delicious food and attention to detail. All the guests loved the food and you were able to cater to everyone's dietary requirements. The view is absolutely gorgeous at any time of year but that is not the only thing that makes this venue amazing. We only needed minimal decorations to enhance a beautiful restaurant. My father is a hard man to please but he was so happy with everything. Thank you for making our day so perfect! Love sash and shashi

Really nice meals and great service. It's very fancy and the fish was amazing. Possibly the best fish I've ever tried. Very pricey meals though but it's definitely worth it for the quality, presentation, the service and the view of the city. Great experience.

The Hidden Gem On The Shoreline I originally booked The Boatshed Restaurant knowing nothing about it. I had assumed that if it was anything like the other Boatshed (market) it would be very fancy, catering to the more refined local residents of South Perth. At the very least the food would be amazing. Good to know I assumed right just not in the way I expected. The view was absolutely breathtaking. With a backdrop of Perth City, it's colours lighting up the night sky and drafting across the river, it was a sight rarely seen or appreciated out side of a postcode or photo for tourism. Inside was warm and welcoming with the wooden floors and long snaking bar area all pointing your eyes in the direction of a small deck serving as a frame for the scenic cityscape just outside. Service was prompt and attentive with just enough gaps between courses to digest, reflect and have polite conversation. The entrees came out after a short, but not unreasonable, wait and every mouthful was nothing short of heaven. The bar had been set. All was too good to be true. Then main course arrived and, effortlessly, the bar had been raised. From the first bite I had to tell myself to slow down and enjoy it the struggle wasn't to finish it was to not inhale. The food is unpretentious and imaginative and the menus assembly was done by someone extremely skilled both technically and in flavour matching. By the time we had to leave and get the cheque I was pleasantly surprised to find that such a fulfilling meal was as affordable as it was with 3 people barely breaking $300. Will becoming back. I think this is my new fine dining go to.

Simple, beautiful and classy

The Cafe is nice on a cold morning. The coffee is OK, nothing exceptional. It's just that it's conveniently located by the river and offers a kids play gym and indoor /outdoor seating. It’s all about the view here. We went here for our anniversary and it was great to have a beautiful view. The food was nice and so was the service but it was nothing exceptional.

We had a wonderful lunch at The Boatshed Restaurant this afternoon. I ate the twice cooked pork belly with seared scallops and had the olive oil cake for dessert. Both were delicious (though the pork belly crackling was a little hard). My mother-in-law had the barramundi and my husband tried the roasted lamb rump, and both raved about their dishes. We had spectacular views of the city and the service was impeccable.

Lovely little cafe with a great view situated on the river. There is also an enclosed playground for kids at the back of the cafe. We had the fish cakes (really delicious), calamari (was ok, not as flavourful as we thought it was going to be) and had the sliders of the day (was quite tasty!). High chairs were available for the little ones should you need one.

The cafe setting is such a great place to go brunch with kids with the outdoor tables and enclosed playground. The menu is lacking in options for kids which I found disappointing. The customer service we received brought the vibe of our outing down also. With some improvements this could be an amazing place as the food was great and I had the best coffee from there 😍

We went in for lunch. The service was great. Greeted with really friendly waitress. But, we thought Long Chim is supposed to be a Thai cuisine? No Tom yum no Pad Thai. Ordered the safest papaya salad and stir fried eggplants. None of them are spicy. Papaya salad wasn't even sour. :( My Malaysian bf made better Thai salad than this to be honest. Even my 6 years old daughter who couldn't take chili can even eat the two main dishes. Price wise.... So overpriced. Food quality is too far from authentic Thai cuisine. Perhaps more like a Thai fusion. Maybe it's more suitable for amateur Thai food lover. PS: the decors were absolutely lovely but the toilets were too dim worse than nightclubs it's actually fairly dangerous. Hopefully the dinner menus were better than the lunches.

Very average, service was friendly and great but the food was very bland and we had to get the set menu due to crowd size and it was a rip off for what you get, definately not enough to feed everyone. Most dishes where just greens with no flavour and lots of big chunks of raw onion.

Awesome restaurant They stuffed up my booking but quickly found us another table, we're super fast and apologetic. Food was spectacular I loved the crispy prawns starter and had a wicked ginger cocktail. Beautiful location on the banks of the Swan River with very efficient, well presented and courteous staff. The food had small portion sizes but that's to be expected in a restaurant of this type, however, it was nice. The chairs could use some upgrading to something more comfortable, but apart from that it was a pleasant experience.

My 12yo daughter has told me to write a 5 star review on how delicious the kids spaghetti Bolognese is. I wholeheartedly agree this place is worthy of a great review. The restaurant was shut on Monday which means the cafe seating stretches across the restaurant and you can sit right next to the waterfront which made our visit even more special. In fact we liked it so much and since we had another appointment in South Perth in a couple of days, we went back! Sadly the restaurant was open and we only wanted cafe food so we had to sit on the cafe side, seats aren't quite as lovely and the view isn't quite as good but it's still a remarkable location and if you have young ones there's a cute little play area you can pop them in while you enjoy a delicious coffee. My meal was enjoyed with a generous glass of the Moscato and I'd happily go back for this. My only complaint would be the cheese on the crossiant was on the bland side and could use a nice little salad to make it feel more like a all round meal but otherwise this will be our go-to place in South Perth to bring family or those out of town guests to give them a nice little Perth experience. Oh and if you're there long enough you're bound to see a cheeky Willy wagtail come and visit and the majestic black Swan enjoying the Swan River.

We originally wanted to try an Italian restaurant nearby but they were fully booked so we googled what was near by and found the Boatshed. We were pleasantly surprised with the aesthetic and service! It overlooked the Swan river and the city, very picturesque at night. Fancier than what we’re used to as students but it was so worth it and such a nice treat! The seafood linguine was fantastic. The amount and quality of seafood was the topic of conversation for a while! We were so impressed! They also had different specials that looked amazing! They have a very long list of wines that are well priced by the glass and I’m sure everyone would be content by the choices because there is something for everyone’s taste. My friend had the crèmeux dessert and it was to die for! Although everything on the dessert menu looked amazing to be honest. Next time my parents are in town, I’ll definitely take them there because as a student it is on the pricier side.

Went here for a 3 course meal. Every dish was perfect and cooked well. Would recommend if you want to enjoy a really nice whilst enjoying an amazing view.

Oh dear, you know when a place has past its prime. Lights flicker on and off, half the tables empty on a Saturday night yet still they struggled to get our courses out to us. Once they did arrive the meals were good. The view was divine. The staff were professional. All the elements were there for a thriving business.

I had the worst Valentine’s Day ever! My husband and I were extremely disappointed with the restaurant. We waited for about 30 minutes just for water and bread! The first drink took almost an hour to arrive. The food was not great and lacked freshness. The oysters were downright disgusting. Considering the price my husband paid for this Valentine’s dinner course, I expected exceptional service. Unfortunately, the staff didn’t explain anything or offer an apology. There was a lot of movement around our table—chairs being shifted, tables rearranged. It made me feel quite uncomfortable. It’s heartbreaking because this place used to be special for us, but we won’t be returning."

I went there 1st time with my partner and his father. My partner had 30th birthday so I thought that restaurant would be lovely place to have our birthday dinner. Unfortunately, we all had to disappoint! 🥺 I ordered Barramundi which was dry and overall way too over seasoned with different seasonings. “Less is more” but they haven’t followed it in that dish. My partner ordered Pork Belly. Looked great but was absolutely dry! Haven’t had this dry Pork Belly NEVER! My partners dad ordered seafood pasta. He wasn’t happy with that either! Lastly, I ordered Panna Cotta. I loved that!

Edit: Booked a table last minute for 2 for Valentine's day, Graeme and staff could not be more helpful. The menu was to absolutely die for. We can't recommend them any more highly. Will definitely be coming back. Booked a table for 2 on the 6/1/24 for my partners birthday. The staff at the boatshed exceeded all expectations dramatically, The food was absolutely amazing. We come to The Boatshed Restaurant every year the week before valentines day, we have been doing this for 3 years and it is ALWAYS a wonderful experience. The staff are super friendly and attentive, the food is elite and the beautiful views are breathtaking! We even entrust our wine selection to the staff to go with our meal and so far they have nailed it every year 🥰 The staff even came and pointed out a pod of dolphins in the water for us and our little one to see, just magical. We always leave super happy 🥰

I went there for friend’s wedding. Staff were fabulous and friendly. Nice intimate setting to celebrate special occasion, also very wonderful scenery overlooking Perth city. Easy finding car park space also. Food served was nice and fresh. The beef dish we had were super yummy and delicious, the fish was ok, and entree (salmon and potato) was another superb dish, never get to try the chicken dish, but my friend said was nice too. Nice table setting.

Dinner out last Thursday night was certainly one to remember. The menu catered for everyone's taste and the food delivered to the table was piping hot and delicious. Have been to the Boatshed restaurant several times in the past few years and the service and food have always been of a high standard. The cafe next door is always great for a more casual coffee, snack or quick meal.

I had never eaten here before but made the choice based on a google rating of 4.3 out of 5. Usually this is reliable. The view was awesome, the service was good, but for the price, the food was very disappointing. We were a party of 5, we all ordered different mains and they were all well below average for a restarant that is charging between $35 and $75 for a main. Sadly, based on this experience we will not be returning. Our neighbour told us this place was great 20 years ago but then went down hill. Wish i had spoken to him before we booked. There are much better establishments in Perth worthy of our hard earned cash.

We visited this restaurant for a birthday celebration and were given a window table which overlooked the Swan River and across to the city of Perth. Iconic black swans glided by as we watched. The staff were extremely attentive and welcoming and the food was excellent.

Great place for breakfast lunch and dinner! The chai lattes are awesome, so was our breakfast!

AMAZING! We had a table right up front by the water with lovely views of the water, wildlife and city. The food was so incredible and different in the best way. Our go to restaurant for quality food without the fine dining pricetag. It was a triple birthday celebration and the staff did an amazing job in having a celebration note on the desserts. Food was excellent. I did however find the fillet steak not as good as last time. Still very good though. Remains high on our list of favorite restaurants. nice

A wonderful view of the Perth skyline, overlooking the Swan river. Off to the right along the Swan are the coloured lights of the new football stadium and Matagarup bridge. We were fortunate to have an almost full moon sitting above the stadium and reflecting along the river. The beef fillet was cooked perfectly and was a quality cut. Very nice. My friend loved her salad and lemon tart. Very nice meal. The staff are very friendly. Overall a beautiful night, great food, great service, good price and amazing views/setting.

Nice view, but that is about all. Very slow on the service and the food is rather average. If you don't mind waiting half an hour between entree and main then go for it, but the staff tend to ignore you and leave the empty plates on the table for quite awhile. I was almost tempted to clear the table myself ! Whatever you do, don't get the sticky date pudding, it looks like a thin slice of banana bread with a ton of syrup. First and last visit.

Today we celebrated a second big family event at The Boatshed Restaurant. Last year it was an 80th birthday and today a 21st birthday for our Granddaughter. Both events went of seamlessly. Today we were seated right in front of open windows that took full advantage of the river views and the beautiful weather Perth dished up today! I can't thank the staff enough for their friendly accommodating service. The food as always was delicious and beautifully presented. Right down to the birthday cake. Thank you to everyone that helped make our day such a success :-) We will be back again very soon.

We held a family lunch function for 16 people ( including children) and The Boatshed was the perfect venue. The staff were helpful and accommodating. The set meal turned out to be the perfect option. The food was excellent and everyone commented on how well cooked and presented it was. The wait staff were friendly and helpful. I am so pleased that we choose to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary here. And of course the view is perfect. I am happy to recommend The Boatshed Restaurant especially for group functions.

Fancy restaurant by the Swan Lake with not so fancy building, fancy platting for of course since its $$$ taste was ok. Great for wedding Venue or any event but not keen to go back just for a normal lunch or dinner

Everyone was so so impressed with the professional service, the friendly vibe and the fabulous food! I would highly recommend The Boatshed for an intimate lunch or a group function. The ambience and view over the river is stunning.i love anything "river",so this is the perfect place.

If you want to really impress someone for about $30, take them here and buy two coffees and two desserts. The best coffee and the yummiest cakes made on site.....enjoy sitting by the Swan River in a lovely shop.

Setting is great: lovely view of the marina and of the marina “beach” Food was good, but spoiled by the mass of salad. We both had the fish and chips, the fish was done to perfection, the chips were “wow”, half a plate of salad leaves with some lost carrot shavings was disappointing. We were there before noon and I realise that the serving staff were still setting up for the day, but one would expect the person taking orders to acknowledge you whole they’re wiping down surfaces - don’t hold your breath on that happening. The young lady that brought our food was very friendly and efficient. On balance: so-so reception, good food, good service

Keep walking ! Attended with 20 team mates from work, entire time we were made to feel we were interrupting. Refused to accept a booking, we just trying to do the right things as we knew there was going to be a few of us. What is the real shame is its such an incredible location, place should be full, but the experience explains why its not !

Excellent friendly service and fresh delicious food

We were a later lunchtime arrival with no booking, yet we were made to feel like we were meant to be there! A warm welcome, followed by friendly and attentive service. Delicious meal, including for our youngster. Great drinks pairings, too. Even as we were the last table approaching their 4pm closure, we were never made to feel like unwelcome stragglers. Highly recommend!

Really nice friendly staff. Absolutely loved the roast duck, the Pad Thai wasn’t the best but it was still good. The pandan pudding is definitely a must try! Overall it is a nice ‘treat yourself’ meal - and the atmosphere inside is nice and cosy.

The vibe and decor of Long Chim are cool without obviously trying to be and the staff and friendly and efficient. I would like them to leave slightly less time between checking in but they were very busy when we were there. The food is excellent but be warned that nearly everything has some level of spice and heat, so be prepared. We started with the pork skewers and vegetarian spring rolls and had a chicken green curry with jasmine rice and the duck fried rice for main. We could have probably gone another main but didn't leave hungry. The food can't be faulted and I could eat the pork skewers for ever. The flavours were well balanced and the meat was lovely and tender. The husband's highlight was the green chicken curry and he's pretty much an expert at green curry so you'll have to give his recommendation extra weight. The prices are slightly higher than we would spend on an average date night but if money is no object or its a special occassion it is well worth a visit.

Amazing dinner, good service and delicious cocktails. My wife and I came here for our anniversary dinner. It was a great meal full of flavour and very enjoyable. It was busy and staff were very courteous.

Had a fantastic dinner here. Chicken wing entree were some of the best wings I've ever had. Pad Thai and Charred noodles were excellent, full of flavour with good serving sizes. Banana Roti was incredible, Pandang pudding was also great. Staff were attentive and friendly.

Grilled beef was amazing. Expected there to be a Pad Thai, but nowhere to be seen. All staff were excellent, very attentive to our table and quite friendly. If anything, I would come back just for the customer service! However, I believe the menu needs to be tweaked a little in order to make it more accessible for the general population

Came here for a Work End of Year dinner and thoroughly enjoyed myself! Not only was the food amazing, but the drink choices (as a non-drinker) was just as great. The food took a little while to come out, but it was jam-packed. Once the food was out, it was like a feast. Amazing food and well worth the visit!

Only one word comes to mind; disappointing. All the dishes that we wanted to try were unavailable and we ended up leaving shortly after still hungry. Even though the place comes highly recommended, the staff seem unhelpful and the kitchen fail to have enough food on hand to cater for the evening trade. Definitely needs to lift its game or it'll be another place that was good.

Our waitress was lovely and enthusiastic, but unfortunately the food was a little disappointing. My mother-in-law is Thai, so perhaps I have higher-than-average standards. One dish was spicy/hot, but everything else we had was ok. On the positive, we did discover a lovely local Riesling.

I would rate this restaurant amongst the best in Perth. Fantastic food, great flavours and nice presentation accompanied by attentive, knowledgeable service.

The Thai green chicken curry was amazing.

Went for dinner with family, four adults. Nice uncrowded seating, lighting a tad dim but tables adequately lit. Front of house staff pleasant and helpful, all drinks and meals/entrees ordered promptly. Of the 4 entrees, 2 came out in good time, however the other 2 were nowhere to be seen. It took several requests to finally see them arrive however far too long, they apologised and we werew comped for them which was nice. The wings were fresh and hot but somewhat lacking in flavour. I had the fried fish, which if I say was disappointing would be an understatement. The sauce and seasoning was fine but the fish was almost inedible. Dry, tough, chewy, consistency of fish jerky. I didnt bother finishing it, it was tiring. I'm not sure if that was the effect they were trying to achieve or did they just get it wrong. I didn't bother mentioning it as I had already complained about the entree and didn't want to appear to over winge. The rest of the party had a mixed bag of results as well. So three stars because of the front of house staff, they were great.

Don't ever accept a double booking. We were told we had from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm and then, AFTER we had started, were told we had to vacate the table by 7:45 pm. Very disappointing!

Long Chim in such a classy location, is the coolest Thai restaurant around. Full bodied authentic flavour, as much chilli as you need or not if you don't and a great drinks menu including tasty cocktails. The menu is uncluttered yet offers excellent choice. Love the staff who gave full attention to cuisine and advice rather than pretention yet maintained an air of sophistication and quality. Challenge you to get through a bowl of chicken larb - one for those with a taste for sizzling hot spicy adventure. I'll be back! Thanks to JJ for the special attention and knock out desert. A master of the cuisine and yes, actually from Thailand.

My Wife and I had dinner here, we waited over an hour for sub-standard food that was partially cold and under seasoned. Underwhelmed and overcharged.

Best Thai food I’ve ever had. The staff were beyond friendly and had excellent customer service. This restaurant really goes above and beyond. I have the siamese watercress and I didn’t expect much, but when I took the first bite I was shocked at how flavourful the meal was. 10/10 for both the staff and the food. Definitely a must visit if you’re here in the CBD.

We had a delicious dinner here on Friday to celebrate our engagement. We arrived early and had a cocktail at the bar. The waitstaff were lovely and attentive, in particular our table waiter, Alesha. Also, having a dairy free diet, we were able to eat most dishes on the menu (including some desserts!).

Terribly overpriced. We had the $65 banquet. Not value for money at all. The chicken curry would be lucky to have 3 tiny pieces of chicken in it. A lot of hype about this place. Won't be coming back....

Nice location and friendly staff. Unfortunately the veggie/vegan options were very limited, and the dish I ordered tasted quite burnt.

Fresh spring rolls! Crispy prawn salad was beautiful and fresh with the mint an coriander. We had the roast duck and the deep fried fish as mains(keep in mind one of those mains could feed two people). It was all soo delicious! We will be back! The staff were so lovely and welcoming too!

Over priced for what was on offer, they have a limited menu at the moment due to covid-19 supply issues and it unfortunately didn't live up to the hype for me - I would however try again when they get the full menu back as a few things on that looked good

Beautiful setting for breakfast. Directly across the Swan River from Perth city. What a spectacular view. I've been here for breakfast many times in the middle of summer and in the middle of winter and the view never fails to amaze me. The staff are very friendly and happy to oblige when asked to leave out or add items from menu choices. The restaurant prefers tables to have one bill only which is the only down side. I would give 5 stars but for that.

The Boatshed not only delivers with its fantastic service, but also with great flavours. Had the avocado bruschetta with poached eggs, and this was prepared with clear consideration for flavours and texture. I’m a huge fan and will definitely come back.

Quick late lunch. Ordered the steak sandwich and friend chose a juice. Juice arrived, not freshly made, but Bottled which was surprising. The steak sandwich was quite alright, not sure the large amounts of chips was necessary, especially as some of them were a little raw.

I can always count on this venue to deliver great food, service, and the dining experience I am looking for when entertaining somebody I either love or want to do business with.

Polite staffs are very efficient on cleaning up the empty dishes. W.C is clean and immaculate. Scenic views if you can sit next to the window. Midday and midweek are not busy.

This review is for the cafe-not the restaurant. Stunning location with beautiful views of the Swan River. Staff are always friendly, approachable and helpful. Unfortunately the drinks have been consistently bad. The coffee is weak and tasteless. Their milkshakes were basically flavoured milk with no thickness and very,very sweet. Avoid the cafe and head to the better cafes along Mends Street.

Service was excellent from all the staff. Seafood pasta was disappointing however the crayfish special was good. If you book I recommend asking for a seat near the window so you can see the view.

Lunch was great 👍 I had the eye fillet cooked to med rare perfectly . M wife had the blue nose emperor .. battered . Both meals were awesome .. Also we had sticky date pudding to finish. Probably the best we’ve had .

Wild mushroom arancini was amazingggg! Barramundi was fresh and great. The slow cooked lamb shank was also nice and tender. We had an awesome time here!

Ten of our friends and neighbours shared my 70th birthday dinner at Boatshed last night. The location and views are stunning. It’s a large venue with high seating capacity but the venue was sparsely attended. The food was absolutely superb. I had the battered red emperor which was perfectly cooked. My husband had a steak which was perfectly cooked and delicious. We all ordered something different and every plate was enjoyed with great comments from everyone. The olives, almonds and bread with truffle butter to start was perfect. Good selection of beverages and service was pretty good too. Atmosphere was a bit lacking and the bar was closed at 9.30 which was a bit disappointing but we would certainly eat there again.

One of the nicest restaurants ever! Staff are lovely, they all engaged with our group very well. The choice of food and wine were broad enough to appeal to everyone on our table. Seating and dinnerware was nice, comfortable and suiting the lovely venue. Surprisingly not busy for a Fri night. I guess 50% busy. The view across the river of the city lights was very nice. Parking is paid on council land and you will need a torch / or your phone for this as there's no lighting and the parking meters are not backlit. This is not a cheap venue. However it was a special night and we all had a wonderful time. Yes, I thoroughly recommend the Boatshed Restaurant !

Today we celebrated my little wedding luncheon here and it was absolutely fantastic. From my initial booking with the lovely Jade and her giving us the best table.. to the actual day. Wow we had mums 80 th birthday there today, from the moment I walk into this place I couldn’t fault it . Graham and his impeccable team were wonderful. The food was absolutely beautiful the staff were so attentive the view was amazing. Thank you, go try it for you self , you won’t be disappointed I promise you 😊
