Best place in town to have dinner. Better than any pub/tavern nearby. Safe place for people with disabilities and families too. They have a great menu and also specials everyday. I recommend the cheeseburger or the fish and chips as seen on my photo. I do bring customers here once or twice every week and they always receive us with a smile. Great and friendly service at the bar too. I recommend this place 100%.

A really good reliable place to eat. Good service, can be quite busy at lunch time. One of the rare places to get the mouch sort after Cristmas plum pudding with proper custard, cream ice cream and a strawberry

Great pub. Nice food. Friendly helpful staff. 2 pool tables. $8 pints of 150 lashes beer. Huge $19 meals with a pint of beer. The parmi meal pictured. Also beautiful chicken pie meal for $18 pictured. Happy hour Mon to Fri from 5 till 6 and Bulmers cider comes down from $12.20 to $7 for Happy Hour. They also have a drive through bottleshop and a TAB. Restaurant on one side and public bar on the other side. Will be back.

$42 for a reef and beef and the smallest piece of beef I’ve ever seen came out. There was no sauce. The herdy burger was average- as in bacon barely cooked but a bigger serve than the reef and beef. The “wait to be seated” sign is pointless, no one comes so you end up seating yourself. Good points - the wait staff and bar staff are great and the calamari was really good. *We didn’t have to pay for the reef and beef

Been on Sunday lunch time and place packed, chicken parmigiana was outstanding - 5 stars. Went on Thursday weeknight 2 weeks later Aug 12th, and had chicken parmigiana again but was 2 star rating: chips dried out;needed more salad dressing; needed more sauce for parmigiana.

The Herdsman Lake Tavern is a place I visit regularly. The Manager Samantha and her team always ensure our experience is amazing. The food is great and table service is always very quick. I highly recommend the Mediterranean stack…absolutely delicious.

This place is great, we stopped in for dinner as we were in the area and we got a table with no problems, the place was not overly busy which was good. The rib eye was cooked to our liking and they even made us garlic butter to go on top even though it's not part of the menu. Highly recommend.

Had a lovely night at the Herdsman Tavern For my beautiful granddaughter Shaneece's birthday Even though I left the cake at home. But the tavern came through with 3 slices of mud cake beautiful decorated on a plate with candles and a sparkler. Thank you

We when here all the time as it is close to our house. They the indoor playground which my kids loves. The food is good with nice portion. A good selection of kids menu. It love to ordered steak as it is reminding me of casual dining steak pub style. Beer tap and other drink menu were nice. Staff was friendly.

A spacious dining area with an inviting atmosphere, suitable for adults, family and children as they have a playground to keep the children entertained while waiting for meals. Staff were all very attentive and friendly and took our orders promptly. It was the wait time for food to arrive that was the let down for the evening especially when it wasn’t a full house. Kid’s meal ‘pizza chips and juice’ arrived, it was quite disappointing. Juice wasn’t even a juice box or pop top but something poured out of a big bottle/carton into a little cup. Pizza has next to nil toppings and tasted like frozen supermarket pizza… all these for $12 was definitely not worth the value. On the contrary, the Malaysian lamb curry was delicious. Flavour for the Malaysian curry was not what I was expecting from an Asian’s taste bud but it was still tasty enough for me to finish the entire plate. I personally found the seafood linguine nothing overly fancy in flavours but my husband enjoyed it. A place worth trying especially if going with kids but just pick kids meals carefully… not sure what other kids meals will be like.

A great family venue but stopped going regularly for a while as menu wasn’t satisfactory and chopped and changed regularly. Tried it again with family this week and what a change!! New Menu was fabulous and tasty - kids grazing plate a good idea. Staff and service wonderful. Overall terrific and we’ll be going again regularly

We had a wonderful lunch today at Herdies - it was perfect for the rainy day! The meals were delicious particularly the Cottage Pie and the Seafood Linguine! Staff were fantastic, friendly, efficient and so obliging ( the kids ran out of sharpened coloured pencils at the colouring in table and they were swiftly replaced!) The inside kids’ playground was a hit too! Prices and parking were spot on too! We are already planning our return visit with the rest of the family 😊

Our recent visit to Herdsman Tavern presented a mix of experiences. The summer menu offered more reasonable prices, although the steaks seemed thinner, they were still acceptable. While my husbands meal was on the small side and he found the garlic sauce to be subtly flavored, the pepper sauce I had was quite enjoyable. The kids relished their meals - the kids portions were ample and satisfying. However, we did notice a delay in drink delivery when using the table app to order, so we just went to the bar to order. There was a noticeable decline in service since Tim's departure. On a positive note, this visit showcased a larger staff presence and more affordable prices compared to our previous visits. We've been regulars for many years, and while we've observed consistent menu changes, this was the first time we've seen such an improvement in both pricing and staff availability. Nice work on the improvements!

Sam the waiter had amazing customer service. He was kind and engaging and apologised if food took too long to come which it did not. Manager Jordan is friendly and engaging Food especially the pumpkin salad and sticky date is delicious. We come here once a month for date night.

Just had our Xmas lunch for 30 people at the Herdies today! Gavin, the FANTASTIC Manager made sure everything went like clockwork despite being short staffed due to the awful bushfires that was happening in the Northern suburbs. From the amazing Xmas table settings, to wonderful table service with a smile and the lovely cool Aircon (it was an 40’C day) our Xmas lunch could not have gone better! Everything was over cooked. Asked for my steak (surf & turf) medium-well done & it came out somewhere between charcoal & incinerated. My dad's fish (pensioners fish & chips) came out so over cooked he had trouble cutting it. My mum had a steak sandwich which she said was tender but bland tasting, steak was not seasoned at all. The staff were great, very friendly & helpful

Friendly, family orientated, spacious, clean, staff service excellent. Recommend this place fully. We have enjoyed both our meals there. Jack Daniel coated spare ribs are to die for.

Great service in the bistro - all staff well-trained, helpful and attentive. Meals tasty and great value. We hadn't been before but will definitely be back.

Best pub for familys, and kids. Food is average but priced accordingly. Drinks are good. But just to have a meal in peace with the kids entertaining themselves is worth it. Most people in the pub are easy going, not bothered by kids being a bit noisy walking around.. relaxed carefree environment.

Good place to have dinner every now and then. Customer service is amazing. Kids playground is definitely a plus for adults to have good chats while children having fun at the playground.

Not bad for a local pub but nothing fancy either. Pretty good deals in a relaxed environment. I ordered cheeseburger the other night but got served the veggie burger instead. They had the tennis on, which was good, but then antique road show came on and we asked them to switch it back, which they did. Good for an easy feed, relaxed service and nice carpet

Impromptu lunch with the family on a Saturday. Service was excellent & the food did not disappoint either. 3 people in our party had the fish & chips, 1 steak sandwich & 1 burger. All agreed the food was delicious. Will definitely be back 😀

Although the staff and beer selection are very good the system for Tap, order & pay did not seem to work for me. Waited 20 minutes for food order on a Monday night and my drink order never appeared I ordered the Monday schnitzel burger for $12 and thought that was good value.

Close local. Had kids playground, lots of tables, food is pretty good, can watch sports on large TV's. Just a bit noisy. I go there for the food not the drinks. Always have a table for last minute bookings

This place is family friendly atmosphere with great table service from the staff. The food is delicious with wide range of choices on the menu. I have been here many times for Dinner and lunch every time the food and service experienced is of a high standard. Parking is easy and entry is accessible for all people as there are on stairs to navigate. Yes I recommend this place for great value for money and I will be back here in the near future.

I really wanted to give this place a good review. The staff are friendly, the food is about what you'd expect for this price. It's quite clean and there's ample parking. But the sad reality is the wait time from kitchen to plate is simply too long for the price point they are pitching at - and their staff aren't able to give reliable estimates of wait time because of this. I don't know if it's a staffing or logistical issue, but the three times we've been there on reasonably quiet midweek nights, it's taken them at least 45 minutes to get a Chicken Parmigiana to the table. One order took over an hour. Overall, a nice pub. But don't go there before the movies

This was the 1st time visit to The Herdsman lake tavern and we were pleasantly surprised..Good choice of meals and drinks available. service was polite, friendly and prompt. Meals were of substantial size and although Pub meals which in most case you would expect them to be slightly cheaper than a restaurant they were actually on the slightly higher price. In saying this as mentioned them were all of substantial size, and cooked to perfection. There was a table of 6 of us and we all enjoyed our meals, deserts, teas and coffees and great service. Will definitely be back
