I would never go again. The bread were over cooked and burnt already. The bread were also super oily. Salmon is not fresh and the scrambled egg was soooo oily as well. The croissant, again super super oily (see picture 2). Very expensive as well for this kind of taste. We spent $76 there for two dishes. Very disappointed.

A nice place for breakfast or lunch - that’s brunch right? It can be busy on a weekend which gives it an electric buzz vibe. We’ve been several times and every foodie experience has been great.

Beautiful place, gorgeous to look at with great food, coffee and wine!! Seemingly understaffed both times I've been, but I wasn't in a rush so it wasn't really a problem (other than desperation for my coffee fix).

Very very disappointing! Food is below average. We ordered the Pastrami benedict with potato rosti and asian claw. Pretty much its pastrami slices what u get from coles deli then a piece of overcooked rosti and just a poached egg with hollandaise and this cost $26. What a ripped off! The banana waffle is another disappointment. Dry and nothing special compare to other places that do waffles. Definelty not coming back here. Waste of $$$$.

This place is super slicko. All the electric genius of that Chinese Mars rover...want the bill? Here it is on screen, tap here, email receipt? Presto! The meal was pretty good good. Speckled emperor is local and respected. Sadly the beans were overcooked, the rocket sad, and the puree as unseasoned as a rookie eagle (local footy reference). $40 deserves a little better effort, even in a town where $40 is what a FIFO worker gets per 27 seconds. The brekkie was pretty good, at the pointy priced end. The coffee was even acceptable, albeit as foamy as the dishwasher when an 8yo decides how much powder to put in. The cinnamon bun was a huge let down. More cake orientated than the stretchy yum of pure yeast work, and with sugar as dominant over cinnamon, as China is over Tibet. But the place deserves your trust..

This is one of our favorite cafes in our local vicinity, as they serve really good coffee and food. The only reason why I am giving 4 stars is not because of the food or service (both of which are fantastic!!!) But it had never occurred to us before having a kid that it issnt the most child-friendly place. Whilst it's a big place with plenty of seating, we were a little disappointed that there were no high chairs available. Great experience nonetheless and would continue to patronise this wonderful establishment! Nothing that a $19.99 ikea made high chair couldn't fix 😆

It wasn't great overall. The food looked pretty but it didn't have much flavor and there wasn't a lot for the price. The food took a long time to come out. The drinks were nice, although not sure you can go wrong with wine. The service was okay, the server was friendly, but removed plates without asking, and when we hadn't finished. They had an attitude and it felt like they didn't want us there. It was hot beside the window. Wouldn't recommend it for the price and won't be back.

I use to really like Gordon St Garage. Now scrambled eggs on toast is one piece of toast with eggs on for $16! See photo.t And the lettuce you see on my coffee saucer was on the plate. I assume trying to hide how silly the little helping was. Anyway who wants lettuce with that!? Maybe you get more value if you order more. Walked out feeling like someone went through my pockets.

This place! Oh this place is like a slice of Vancouver's Gas Town District. Service is fresh, friendly, prompt. Music is new and unobtrusive. Kitchen serves up some great nosh. And they have Funk Cider... like many things here the focus is on quality: funk is made from actual fruit, not apple concentrate.

This used to be my favourite place and now it just feels tired. This is my third underwhelming visit. Service not especially great and the existing menu not done with any care. Breakfast was lukewarm and a dumbed down version of previous items. There are better, newer cafes out now doing this better for the same price. Hope they can lift their game because it’s an excellent space in a great location.

Went to The Gordon Street Garage for lunch and had few small tasting plates. Ordered the Octopus, Hot and Sour Chicken Wings, Double Roasted Chips, Humus and Croquettes. Chicken wings were heavily salted and the only hot was provided by the sweet and sour sauce on the side. The Humus was nice but dry, served with no oil. The chips were delicious and the dipping sauce was awesome. The Croquettes were equally delicious but not enough. Great surroundings with friendly staff. Great place to settle for a leisurely afternoon.

For the perfect breakfast, you must try the Salmon Benny. Light, bright, full of flavour...This new take on Eggs Benedict was truly delicious and something you must try. Recommended.

Popped in for a lunch with some colleagues and really enjoyed the Gordon Street Garage. It's in a great location, light, airy and relaxing. Great food choices on the menu; the miso pumpkin was especially good. If you're looking for a casual catch-up location with great food, drinks and super friendly staff be sure to drop in, I'll definately be heading back!

This is opposite the little Gordon street restaurant. The pastries are to die for and I could literally live on their croissants and cinnamon scrolls for the rest of my life. Their coffee is good to. My goto in Perth. Made fresh daily from 645am… yes I have waited..

I've been here a couple of times and while I absolutely love the interior design and find it great to chill or use the laptop, I've been disappointed about the rest in terms of service and food (if there was a 3.5 I'd give that). I had to wait 15 minutes to be served and while I got served a decent flat white (as I was deciding what to eat). I then had to wait another 20 minutes for the waitress to notice I hadn't ordered food. I opted for truffle with eggs and toasted sourdough. I felt the portion was too small given the premium price but also the eggs were too salty. I'll probably be back, though probably only for coffee and cake... and to get work done. Nonetheless it's a very popular place for meetings especially for early mornings.

Came here with a friend to have brunch and work from our laptops for a few hours. The coffees were delicious and the smashed avo was really enjoyable. Later on we asked one of the staff for a drinks menu, She brought back a menu that had alcoholic drinks on it and neither of us drink alcohol. When I asked to see a different drinks list (which we saw earlier on the back of the breakfast menu), she replied “I can’t give you that menu because that’s our breakfast menu and we’re serving lunch now”. We understood that lunch was now being served, but surely not everyone ordering lunch orders alcoholic beverages to go with? She then said she could read out the list of drinks on offer and proceeded to do so (while she did this I brought up the menu on my laptop because I found this highly frustrating and I’m a visual person, I like to LOOK at what my options are, not be told). It was just a really strange encounter, in the time she read it all out she could have gotten us a menu. The menus existed for breakfast, so do they just disappear at lunch? Anyway, we ordered a juice and a tea each which was nice. I liked the vibe of the venue.

Spacious and comfy indoor seating area, mixed industrial and botanical decoration. Had a gnocchi and a grilled chicken. The sauce of gnocchi was really nice, and the chicken, feeling like middle eastern infused, was nice too. The dessert was not really impressing.

It started great, nice atmosphere, decor, but the waiters took a long time to check on us and there wasn't much food on the plates for the price you paid. The staff were nice enough, I would have given more stars though if they hadn't charged us $5 cakeage fee per person which would have set us back $30, so we decided to eat the cake elsewhere, what a let down. Also, they do not provide high chairs for children. Very limited vegetarian options.

Decor was nice. Cool place. Very disappointed about food, service and staff. Paid $16 for 3 croquettes that were smaller then a golf ball. I was hungry when I got there as and certainly not full when I left....over priced. They were tasty but need to be much bigger for $16. All but one staff were a bit snobby and not very warm and welcoming. It seem to much trouble to find us a seat...even though there was no one there. That told us not too book because we "might not be eating dinner" but made seating difficult when we arrived. I kind of felt we were in their way and uncomfortable to be there. Overall, it was a nice place but not worth the price and would be better with more friendly staff.

A really funky place for breakfast. I'd been keen to come here for a while, it's just been ever so slightly out of safe winter walking distance from my apartment. The venue didn't disappoint, it's got a really good vibe.. nicely decorated, bright and open. The staff were also great. The guy who seated us and the lady who served us were both lovely. 5 stars for this aspect. The coffee was well brewed and the food came out quickly. My only issue is that I consider the prices to be a big excessive for what you get. The meals were tasty, but not fantastic, servings were smaller than comparable venues and prices were about 25% more than comparable places. 3 stars for this aspect. I would come back, expecting to pay more than usual, and I'd be happy to do so for the venue. 4 stars overall.

I cannot speak more highly of Gordon Street Garage. The food and coffee fare consistently delicious, the staff are attentive and as if that weren’t enough, each year they allow us to take a few family photos upstairs. We’ve created lifetime memories under the rafters and we’ll be forever grateful.

Located just on the outskirts on CBD, near the exit of highway. Great for work meeting catch ups and to grab a bite if you are out of office. Only qualm is finding parking as it can be a bit competitive with limited spots...

this shouldn’t even receive one star, the food was horrible. We had Crab Tagliatelle and the Fried Chicken for lunch. The pasta was very underwhelming. It was worse than the 10$ pasta available in food courts. Definitely not worth $26. The chicken was below average and not worth $29. If it was not spicy, it’s not edible. The salad was so sour, as if drenched in a gallon of vinegar. Definitely not coming back to this place.

Great spot for a coffee catch up if you and a friend live or work in the West Perth Region. My Mocha was brilliant and my friend said his cappuccino was one of the best he's had. Both had really nice Latte art too. Service was friendly and welcoming.

I had my 21st here last night, and it was a fantastic night. The chicken breast and the beef tartare were both amazing, the staff were very friendly! I will be coming back here sometime. Just a bit sad that I didn’t end up getting any photos! If I could offer more stars, then I would without a doubt!

Great building and reasonable food. The staff there hate their jobs though and illustrate this with their body language! Also, when asked if the water is filtered, they lie and tell you it is, despite it tasting like a dirty swimming pool. Good filters are not that dear!

great place for breakfast. i had corn fritters and the taste was perfectly mixed with the ingredients. chilli in the dish wasn’t spicy and gave a refreshing taste. coffee was good. the whole experience was good until i met the unfriendly cashier who doesn’t smile and only seem to glare at everybody. two ladies in front of me were trying to describe where they sat and she took a glance and said “nope it doesn’t help”. she could have been more helpful.

Eggplant pomegranate quinoa salad was divine, my partner had the burger and said it was good... we had 2 year old with us, not an ideal venue for kids, but that's understandable in a city locationi guess...(no kids seats) . Lucky he likes banana bread and fries 😄

Very cool very trendy, the truffle scrambled eggs and lemon meringue croissant were average. Good place for a conversation, though. Whatever they've done for noise dampening should be required in all open-space high-ceiling venues.

Walking into GSG always makes me smile. The combination of the high ceiling, cosy industrial feel, timber furniture and smiling team creates an instant feeling of not having to try too hard. While the vibe is relaxed, the team of floor staff and chefs deliver an exceptional experience. They say that you can judge the quality of a chef by their scrambled eggs and if that's the case then GSG is top quality. Their menu is small but more than enough to keep everyone happy and it changes seasonally. My coffee loving husband says that the coffee (which they roast and package as Mano a Mano) is excellent if you're into that kind of thing. The portions are not enormous but are just the right size for what an average human adult should be eating. I never leave hungry. My only complaint about GSG is that I live too far away and can't done there daily. One of my top recommendations in Perth and staffed by some of the best people in town.

Even at 7am this place is pretty busy, but I still got seated quickly and water was given to me before being asked about coffee. The fruit bowl has a creamy coconut taste and the fruits we're all fresh. Overall well balance with the mix of textures. This place is pricey but you get what you pay for

It was a good experience at Gordon Street Garage, good vibes and atmosphere. Might abit tricky to locate the cafe because it's situated at an alley, but you'll find it eventually. Could come back to taste other dishes on the menu, coffee is alright, not bad.

Gordon Street Garage is an incredible space. Huge, open, and vibrant. They roast coffee on site, and clearly have some talented baristas and chefs. A great place for a sit down meal, or a business meeting. I frequent Gordon Street, and I would absolutely recommend a visit if you are around. That said, a year ago I would have given this place 5 stars. I don't really know what has changed in that time. I can't put my finger on it exactly. The space is underused and seems empty. The menu is pricier, and the food not quite as good. Nor the coffee either. By no means is it bad, in fact it's quite tasty. Both the coffee and the food. But it's not what it was. I really hope they find what they've lost, because it is a beautiful place with a 5 star potential. A potential it realised and somehow lost, at least for me. Don't read this and not go. It is absolutely worth it, delicious food and coffee. But it's not my regular.

Friendly and thoughtful wait staff, our young son ordered a ham and cheese croissant and the waitress checked to make sure he'd be okay with mustard. Excellent coffee (nice latte art too!). Food was delicious, I highly recommend the corn fritters. Will definitely return.

Trendy setting, nice ambience, looks like a place where you're welcome to sit with your laptop and type away your next book. The wait persons looked like they are well trained and they do their job with pride. The chef to untrained eyes looked Jamie Oliver-esk. 😅 I can't remember what I ordered but I remember it has an interesting zing to it.

Extremely disappointed in this cafe. Has been on my list of places to try for such a long time and was so disappointed by my visit today. Coming with my one year old, they greeted us and said they did not have high chairs but he was welcome to sit on the bench seat...which would have out his head about the height of the table. The food was average at best, with very simple tomatoes on toast with no dressing whatsoever. I was then told very rudely by staff that there was nowhere to change my son and I was not welcome to change him on the floor. Will definitely not be returning.

  • 5/5 michal p. 3 years ago on Google
Staff seen genuinely interested in getting food or appropriately arranging cutlery. Food was surprisingly better than I expected as was the coffee. One of the baristas was very helpful to make sure I was not recommended a batch brew when I recommended a pour over. The single origin range is not huge but has a unique taste.

  • 1/5 Steph R. 3 years ago on Google
Cannoli was filled with Parmesan instead of sweet ricotta. Chef was rude when returned. Chicken on salad was pulled off a roast chicken covered in grizzle and fat. Service from wait staff was lovely - the only saving grace.

Nice airy and cosy atmosphere. Various beans available. Food is better than typical cafe fare which is also reflected in the price.

  • 2/5 B. Y. 3 years ago on Google
Insanely overpriced for eggs, toast, and very small piece of salmon. Consistency of the eggs were off; watery and mushy, toast was stale like its been sitting out for a while not freshly toasted, salmon was very small and unseasoned. All for the price of 30 bucks. The only good part of breakfast was the coffee. Will not go back.
