I was having a lovely afternoon with my partner until he came back from the bar saying the staff member/manager wouldn't serve him because of his tattoo. We had already had a drink each and food from multiple friendly staff members there with no problem, my partner was polite as he always is, there was absolutely no reason for the discrimination and it totally spoilt a really lovely day. I'm really disgusted with the staff member/manager there and will never come back or recommend this place. Thank you to the other staff who were lovely but this person totally abused his authority there and ruined it for us. Looks like there are many other reviews about this pub discriminating against people! Maybe next time use that power over someone who is causing trouble not judge a person who's caused no problem to anyone who's simply out for a Sunday afternoon drink with his partner.

I really wanted to like this place, trying to meet up with people is harder these days to find food/location/time so we came here to dine in the restaurant. I'd already looked at the menu for dietary requirements and thought it looked nice. We did have prams and sat outside to not cause a traffic jam with other patrons; we were not welcomed. Firstly we were asked if we *actually* wanted to eat in the restaurant rather than the pub, then we were told we couldn't sit where we were sitting (because the prams took up space) but not offered an alternative table and said there were no high chairs. Look, we understand you need to access the tables but we were happy to move and happy to accommodate but we weren't met half way. We felt our waitress was quite rude to us and didn't want us there so we left. I can't comment on the food as we didn't get that far. Please note our kids are very young but they weren't being too loud or messy. It was pretty tight in there but there were options. The message we heard was loud and clear - people with prams are not welcome here. We will not return. We WERE welcomed at Automatic and had a lovely dining experience with both food and staff.

Such a shame that a beautiful venue is staffed with rude and moody waitstaff. The young girl waiting our table had a chip on her shoulder the second we sat down. Unhelpful, and set the worst vibe for a nice Saturday lunch. The food was well below par, exceptionally overpriced and lacked basic flavours. happy to pay $28 for a good salad, but 3 prawns, 1 tomato, and a bit of cucumber and capsicum really doesn’t cut it.

Had the chicken curry for lunch today. Was unbelievably dry. The chicken appears to have been cooked and then refrigerated sometime last week. It had a brownish dry exterior on each chicken piece. I had this dish a month ago and it was great.

Very disappointed. Had a large family booking for Easter Sunday in the Charthouse Restaurant. Was told on arrival they do not supply high chairs or do they do a kids menu. When we asked about them we were told, I’m not a friendly manner, that we will need to eat in the front bar if we wanted high chairs and kids food. I would have thought in this day and age, they would at least provide high chairs for their customers. Food we had was nice, but we did have to wait some time before our food arrived even though we did order fairly early before the restaurant was full and it certainly wasn’t due to lack of staff. One of the senior staff members was very abrupt and just didn’t seem happy to be working. The younger staff were delightful though.

Rude staff members. They often ignore me when I go to the counter to order something. I won't be coming back here. The pubs in Vic Park are much better, as I get served by nice people who are not stuck up or snobby.

Windsor hotel at the time I went was very quiet on a Thursday a lunch time however they did say it was fairly quiet compared to normal. Service was exceptional and food was of decent size and quality for a pub based meal. Price on food and drinks were reasonable for saying again that it was a pub. Friendly service staff and good atmosphere and location. Definitely worth a try but have also been at night and stayed for a meal in the garden which was much better

Nice bar with good urban area vibe. I was fortunate because the bar is one of many places that open till late in Perth. (Many places close early except Hotels) Another fortunate matter was there’s live music playing at night. That time was around 10PM when the band were still playing. Many product selection and very fast responsive bartender & staffs. Recommended Bar to visit in South Perth if you’re in the neighborhood, especially when the Price is just right around average alcohol pricing around town.

Went to the Charthouse last night with my family. The food was incredible and the drink selection was amazing. However, our server was appalling. There was no basic customer service present, which was such a let down. There was no smile, their tone of voice was completely rude, and we just felt more of an inconvenience than paying customers. Furthermore, not once did we get asked if we wanted more drinks throughout our meal, so we had to ask someone else.

This is one of the worst experiences I have ever had from a customer service point of view. I eat out often and I think the restaraunt at the Windsor thinks they are better than what the reality is. OK, nothing special. Went into the restaurant with my daughter and wife and after hanging around for 10 minutes waiting for anybody to help was told that they had no kids menu so would have to go the other side or order from the adults menu. Took a look at the adults menu and thought that their were a few options that could work, when I asked to be seated was told they had no high chairs so would actually have to go to the bar side (wasting another 10 minutes). Went to the bar side and waited 45 minutes for food after ordering. This was on a Wednesday so super quiet. Sort it out Windsor, this is shocking. Would not recommend and will avoid in the future.

I was at your venue with a friend on Friday the 20th Aug 2021, she approached the bar and was greeted by really lovely staff, upon her trying to order a drink she was refused due to having face tattoos, although the staff were pleasant in explaining it was the owners strict rule I find it completely backwards and discriminatory. It is literally like saying to someone wearing bright red lipstick that they cannot be served, these days tattoos are more of a cosmetic thing…. Like make up or hair die…. It’s really disappointing as it was both of our first visit to your venue, safe to say it will be our last.

The Windsor needs to review their staff. We have been regulars there for at least 6 years.. Never have we been spoken to as we were tonight. 23/2/23..by who was apparently the manager of the front bar..his manner was very disrespectful he strode up to us being 5 mature people and very arrogantly demanded that us and our tiny dogs on the floor who hadn’t made a sound for the last 2 hours remove ourselves.. his attitude left a lot to be desired.. he needs to be taught manners, I am hoping that someone will speak to him in regards to the correct manner to treat customers..

Food: 4.5/5 Service: 5/5 Went here very hungover on a Sunday for a roast dinner cure and it did not disappoint. After trying to get into our local JB’s which was full for the evening and most other places finishing up their roast at 4pm we thought we’d make the very short trip over to the Windsor to give it a go. Had the roast lamb which was delicious but the best part was the Yorkshire pudding and gravy. Also some nice beers on tap here that I hadn’t had before. We sat out the front which in hindsight was a mistake as every now and then someone on their “classic” car would roar past but there’s plenty of other seating and a beer garden out back, we just were bothered enough by it to move. Would recommend for the Sunday roast!

Could have been great but wasn't. Beautiful setting and good enough selection of beers but the food was just terrible. My steak sandwich overcooked and the bread day old. The wagyu burger looked good but the bun was doughy. My daughters nuggets were overcooked and bordering on burnt. My sons pizza was actually OK. I will give them one thing, the garlic bread was very good. Overall however wouldn't go back to eat. Maybe a couple beers in the many bars.

Fantastic meal again. The pepper fillet steak is spectacular. The garlic bread was disappointing as it was dry and not much garlic or butter. But everything else was brilliant. One of our favourite places to eat. Desserts are amazing

My initial phone contact to book at the Charthouse restaurant found staff to be friendly, informative and professional. I’d mentioned that three of our group had food requirements and was assured they’d be catered to. We had a great night! Fantastic food, special mentions for the seafood chowder, the spaghetti marinara and the lamb rack, the vegan pumpkin salad was full of interesting ingredients with a wonderful dressing. I don’t know if the ice cream was made in-house but it got rave reviews too. There was attentive service and lots of options for seating, it was a Friday night so it was quite lively, free parking with a parking voucher from reception; it ticked all the boxes. We’ll be back 😀

I will have to disagree, after a careful comparison, I believe that the The Windsor has the best steak sandwich in town. In fact willing to shout lunch to bàck up my claim.. Do you dare? The seafood spaghetti also been told was pretty good to.

Went there with a few friends and had a great time. Only small criticism was the service was a little slow but the food was fantastic so was well worth the wait. Live music was great as well.

Very friendly service. Music a bit loud outside so we choose to sit inside so we could talk. Dad had the steak sandwich and chips which he thoroughly enjoyed. Husband had the seafood pasta which he said was delicious and too much to finish. I had the mushroom risotto which was a great vegan option. Fill of vegetables, couldn't finish the large serving. The staff were wonderful. I would highly recommend.

Great food, they do great steaks and the Sunday roast is a fantastic deal at $32 with all the trimmings including a huge Yorkshire pudding (as of Oct 2023) If you enjoy a smooth pale ale, try their Oggys. Free parking if you book ahead otherwise parking is about $8 for a couple of hours (as of Oct 2023). Oysters are beat too.

It was a hot day and set outside under the tree canopy which was cool and pleasant. I thought the service was very good and well timed. I had roast of the day which is pork and a very big size which is welcomed together with most potatoes Yorkshire pudding and greens. The serving was a bit too large for me but I shared the pork with some of the others. The Yorkshire pudding looks great but was dry and uninteresting. You could have done with more fat in it. I had lemon meringue tart which was beautifully presented and tasted fine it was a bit lacking in strong flavours for me I was like to have far more lemon.

Best San Choy Bow ever, I got 2! Other than that the food is pretty bad and a rip off. Maybe the restaurant out the back is better.

First time visiting here, and we dined at the restaurant. The parking was complimentary which was fab. We just had to go inside the restaurant and ask for a ticket. The venue itself is lovely - there's a nice outside area with a bar and plenty of seating, and the restaurant itself was spacious and clean. The best part of this venue is the staff. They were incredible - friendly, professional and so accommodating. The food had very generous serving sizes, and was delicious. We will definitely revisit.

We wanted to go for lunch at the Windsor after a morning at the Zoo. On arrival at the Rest we were told , without asking anything, that they did not have children menus and this part of the Hotel was for seated guests only, and ala carte was served . We were told to go to the front bar. Our grandchildren are 5 years and 7 years old, well dressed and well behaved. I can not believe that we were turned away so rudely, the Rest and garden were very quiet at the time, plenty of room. We had to then eat in the beer garden , clean our own table and search for every other item needed, cutlery menu etc We go there very regularly and for 40 years but this was pathetic to say the least.

Everytime I have been here the food has been perfection. I must mention the excellent service from our waitress Oz. She made our whole table comfortable, relaxed and happy for my wife's birthday. My only suggestion would be for some kind of a side salad to come with the steak and potatoes. 🙏

A great spot, with plenty of different seating options, from the lovely restaurant which has inside and outside seating, and the bar area with a beer garden which was lovely! Very clean place, staff friendly, and the vibe is great. Food was good too. i had the prawn salad , and the prawns were huge. A mate had the burrger on the specials menu and said it was great and the chill muscles were a hit as well. The food didn't come out together though, burger within 5-7mins of ordering food it came out and then the last two meals took an extra 20minutes! Not ideal, you'd think they could time it so meals come out together and you can eat together, perhaps they had a burger ready to go and just sent it out?? Nice spot, for a feed, beer and plenty of options food wise in all area.

We dined at the Charthouse and both ordered the Eye Fillet. Hers was PERFECT, mine was only the tiniest bit overdone. The atmosphere is simply gorgeous. Nautical and unpretentious, with many pieces of decorative eye candy. Learn your signal flag alphabet and read the writing on the walls. A fun little mental exercise. The wait staff were friendly and efficient. They were appropriately cheeky and the experience was fun as well as delicious. My coffee was late coming with dessert, but they happily took it off of the bill. I left my bag and they actually phoned me and left a message to remind me to come back and retrieve it. Very grateful. We will definitely return periodically. Top notch all the way around.

Superb Sunday roast at Charthouse restaurant. Generous portions and every item on the plate was delicious. Great service and helpful staff. Couldn't resist the apple and rhubarb crumble and it was one of the best I have ever had. Look forward to going back again!

I went with 2 friends to The Charthouse Restaurant in The Windsor. Our table was in the beautiful vine covered, dappled light outdoor setting. The food was outstanding and the meals were more than generous (even the entrees). The service was impeccable and very attentive and the cost of the meals very fair. Can’t wait to go back again. Thanks to the team at The Windsor!

Good pub, decent food, the outdoor seating on a nice Summer day is really nice. Steak sandwich was loaded with cheese and tasty, charcuterie board was loaded with picked veg on leaves, could prob done with some more meats or bread for the pate for $27. Gluten free pizza base is no extra charge but didn't seem like it was made with much love. Friendly service and overall good atmosphere

Lovely place close to the foreshore and ferry port. Excellent choice of beers and good selection of bar food and lively atmosphere. The staff are so friendly and helpful, should be used as the Gold standard of the hospitality industry,so would definitely recommend.

Caught the ferry from Elizabeth Quay over to South Perth and during our exploration we dropped in to the Windsor for lunch and a cool drink. Enjoyed both very much. It has plenty of historical atmosphere a variety of indoor / outdoor seating choices. A great venue day or night, for small or large groups.

We had an interesting experience at this beautiful place. They asked us what water we wanted, yet never brought it to the table. We shared a Steak Sandwich and one half was absolutely beautiful, the other half was tough and grizzly. And it took a very, very long time for our steak sandwich to arrive.

Great atmosphere but unfortunately a bit noisy where we were seated so we asked to be moved which wasn't a problem, good value large servings and great service with a smile. I can highly recommend this establishment with confidence. 👍

Come often for work lunches on a Friday. The food quality is 90% always dreadful. Had a chicken parmy today and I could not eat it. And another worker sent their food back as it was raw. So my understanding of food it was cooked from frozen which is a major health hazard. The previous week other work members ordered the Charlotte what ever it is food board and half the stuff was off and slimy.

It has captured my heart as I walked in. Built-in 1898, about 124 years old. This beautiful Victorian architectural heritage building was constructed just before the end of the Swan River colonial period. Today, It still looks solid and awesome. Very nice internal decoration with a mixture of traditional and modern furniture. The Bar has awfully beautiful outdoor and indoor seating areas. The east side of the modern building's dining area was spacious and suitable for families and visitors. Clean, nice environment and good ambient. Good service. Cheers! (2022-04)

Came here for an early dinner at the Chart house Restaurant. The place filled up pretty quick even for a Tuesday night. There's a Wilson parking located at the rear of the hotel and diners can pickup a complimentary parking pass to park at the Wilson car park for free. Just head into the restaurant to ask for the parking pass instead of paying for the parking ticket. We ordered a 3 course meal. The quality of the food was very good and the service was fantastic. Food service was prompt. The menu was sufficient to cater for most tastes. Will be back again. Thank you Charthouse for a nice night out.

Friday lunch full of big groups of oldies. Standard pub fare on the menu. Nothing special and maybe a bit pricy. Ask for the days menu specials. Staff were nice and quite helpful, but kept very busy. Don't forget to get your free parking voucher and put it on your car!

Went for a few drinks on a Saturday night. We were a bit surprised when it got to about 10pm and the whole crowd seemed to change from more mature to young teenagers/early 20 year olds. Plastic cups for drinks after a certain time was a bit different. Some of the younger crowd were rude and obnoxious. Security was kept on their toes by patrons trying to bypass the front door cues and also saw them eject a few people that weren't wearing their wrist bands to prove vaccination. Reasonably good night but will probably choose to go on a different night next time. Had a pizza which was very tasty would like to try something else on the menu next time.

I always find the staff at the Windsor quite rude except the young gentleman collecting glasses with green eyes with the accent and the beautiful girl with the beautiful features who was serving the food. We left a lot of money there on Sunday and we go out to have a nice time. . I totally understand not everyone is having a good day and everyone has problems but it's not that hard to smile and be kind. Shouldn't your hospitality staff be warmer in nature? We go out to smile and have a good time not be met with these young staff with attitudes. Who is hiring these people? You go out to the other bars and everyone is so friendly behind the bar? Windsor do some quality control on your staff.

Had a great lunch at the CHARTHOUSE RESTAURANT today. The meals were tasty, good size and not too bad price given the setting, produce and level of service. The chocolate fondant was perfect and the house lager beer cold and crisp, perfect for a summers day. Will definitely be back again.

We had a family lunch in one of the rooms, the male staff member was amazing and so attentive to my children and treated them like little adults. This place is not kid friendly but they have hints on their website before going. Unfortunately I wasn't the one to book, no high chairs, kids menu, kids plates or cups, my two smallest were happy with chips and my big 10 year old was super excited to get the crusted pork cutlet in an adult size, and he demolished it, it was a massive serving and it was delicious!! Partner and i had the lamb roast special, it was ok, nothing spectacular. From looking around the room, each meal was a massive size.

I am the support worker for a client of mine who is very disabled with no communication techniques, and he has a wheelchair that resembles a seemingly trailer. Honestly finding a good restaurant that’s open with appropriate food in New York on a Monday night is fairly hard, so if a pub in south Perth couldn't, I would have understood. I didn't need to worry at all. The duty manager gave the me kids menu options because of my clients chronic Dysphagia. They charged fairly but they could have done the opposite. Great customer service and empathy.

The Windsor is my 'go to', with friends, family or by myself. The service is always great and the is food superb - I've never had a mediocre meal there yet - oh, and the wine is competitively priced! With free parking (compliments of the Windsor) who could ask for anything more?

Love this classic pub. Vibe always cool and staff friendly. Highly recommend trying the Ogden's bewed beer, Arctic Light. Perfectly crisp and fruity for a typical hot day in Perth. Chili mussels also a must, probably the best I've tried in years. Location also very hip. Enjoy!
