It’s my first time here. I’m so lucky that a friend asked me out to city today as I’m still very new here and I wouldn’t be able to find this place if she didn’t bring me! Love the food here 😋 I spent $9.80 on a curry rice and gigantic kakiage. There’s free flow of tea too. Authentic, delicious and affordable, what a gem! Definitely will recommend my friends 👍🏼

By far one of the best places to get Japanese noodles. Even though the queue was very long, we didn’t have to wait for too long due to the self service and efficiency of how fast the noodles come out. And if you’re worried about the noodles not being fresh, don’t worry because you can see them making it right in front of you when selecting your dishes. I also love how the place looks like a traditional Japanese shop but during peak hours, it could get very loud.

Went here couple of times for dinner (it has different menu) but first time for lunch at Hifumiya. It feels a bit different on the day time, but I always love their decoration. Went there at 2pm, so it wasn't crowded and can order right away. Very fast and efficient service. In terms or taste, hands down for one of the best udon in Perth. We ordered udon, curry rice and fried dishes. We spent $37 for two people, with one drink. It was really good and ended up very full.

It is a very noisy lively place on a weekend night. Japanese tapas, lots of options if you can read the menu. I found it a little hard to read what was what. Lots of alcoholic choices, especially sake and japanese fruit wines, to go with the food. The braised pork belly is a must. So delicious. Subtle sweet and salty flavours that just floats on our tongue. Pickles and rice oh so yummy. Lots of traditional dishes. Braised chicken and vegetables are root vegetables. The flavours aren't heavy or over the top, subtle and delicate. It is very traditional and very nostalgic. Reminiscent of home cooked meals that your okaasan would have made you. Service was excellent and helpful. When they didn't know the answer, they went to find out. Toilet facilities available. Almost like public toilets, luckily not dirty.

Get really busy on the weekend, the queue move fast. The share seating arrangement I don’t like and get very tight at time. Good ramen yes, good size yes. Price is toward the mid to high.

WE LOVE IT HERE! Food is amazing, filling and well-priced. The atmosphere and vibes here make us feel like we are back in Japan whenever we come here…and Japan so happens to be our favourite country too! Will definitely continue to visit for sure!

The food is always fantastic and no matter what I order I am always delighted with my meal! You will find the udon culture in every aspect of their shop, from the natural based interior, family-size wide shareable table, to the warm greetings from their staff and the hearty bowl they serve.

Don't let the queue scare you to not go in. It moves along quickly. Authentic Japanese udon at a good price. I am sure this shop is one of the many reasons for people to travel to Japan. I had the beef udon (warm, fish broth), not sure if it is Japanese culture, but I always finish all my food plus the soup. These guys only open for lunchtime because they don't need to open for other times, they are that good. Will recommend to all my friends. Thank you for bringing such good food from Japan to Australia.

Hands down best udon in Perth! Dishes are so authentic, customer service is fantastic, a beautiful venue, (transporting you back to the streets of Japan) and really reasonably priced. Don’t forget to grab their loyalty card on rewards for future visits. Great for me, as I’m a regular here. From someone who lived in Japan, and visits there often, this is the ultimate comfort food 💖

I don’t think I’m overstating when I say this is the best udon shop in Perth. The location is busy, but the canteen-style ordering makes things move quickly. Staff are cheery and welcoming. The atmosphere is fun, with common seating throughout as well as some smaller tables for couples. Prices and portions are very good with a large lunch for under $15. Food is fantastic. So many menu options and everything is fresh. Heaps of great side dishes and tempura.

One of a kind in Perth. This is my partner’s and I favourite udon place. It brings me back to Kyoto when I had that weird noodle dish that I did not like at first although I’ve always loved udon. It’s the authenticity that reminds me of. Beef udon and the spicy pork miso are my go to. The rice bowls are nice too and tasty. Side dishes are also great accompaniment to udon. Vegetable tempura is my favourite. The owners of both Hifumiya and Jigoro are both lovely people. The free fried udon noodles and green tea is something I find very thoughtful of Hifumiya. We keep coming back although we try to avoid the long queue by coming in early, 11am or just before 12 otherswise you may find yourself on the street for a queue.

Immensely popular freshly made udon restaurant that can attract long lines at opening and peak times. The restaurant is structured for efficiency to get your meal out quickly, kind of like a cafeteria with trays that you push along as you collect your main then any additions and finally pay. Udon is continually made and cooked and served very quickly almost like fast food. They have hot and cold, soup and dry udon, as well as some rice dishes and sides which are largely tempura snacks and meat skewers. The udon itself is very good for the quick, easy and relatively inexpensive type of establishment, thick and slightly chewy and toppings are varied but typical of an udon restaurant with plenty of deep fried options. The dining hall is crammed when they're busy. There's tables that range from 2 seats through to large tables with bench seats that become communal when there's not enough smaller tables to go around. However, turnover is quite fast from service through to people quickly eating then leaving.

Udon is made in the shop. Texture is special. Had the cold udon and was fantastic. Onsen egg was cooked to perfection. Staff were energetic and happy. Shop has a nice ambience. Well done guys will definitely be back

The go to Udon place. Have been here numerous times. I always go for their spicy ones. However, I do find all of their menus are delicious. You order at the counter with the tray provided and wait for the food you have ordered. The food do come out very quickly as they prepare them for you there. You can also get some of their side dishes such as takoyaki, terriyaki chicken on sticks, vegetable tempura and so on. Water and hot green tea are free and self serve along with their crunchy nibbles.

Lunch Udon is great and I've give you 5 stars for the Udon but we ate here last night and your other dishes really failed. Night menu is different to the lunch menu of Udon Couple really simple dishes just not enjoyable. Firstly your eggs had no flavour, just egg. You rely too much on the topping and forgot the core part of this dish. Please fix it. Mirin, Dashi, soy seasoning and actually taste it before serving it. Also your fermented miso topping on the cucumber, I understand you want to be different with this but it's just not good. Honestly a different miso would be so much better. Sorry.

The proper traditional udon soup and chewy udon noodles were impressive. It feels like the taste of Japanese udon for the first time in Australia. The amount is generous and the price is reasonable. If you go to Perth, I recommend it.

Hands down the best udon place in Perth (even though it’s the only one I know as well). It’s quite an experience from the ordering of the food through to the picking of extras, the way they prepare in front of you. Haven’t yet been to Japan but the feeling is definitely one of an authentic Japanese experience. Menu is massive, overwhelming for a first timer - but there are so many dishes that look good that I’ll have to go back and try. Ordered the original (since I couldn’t decide what to get) and didn’t regret, the flavours are great even though the dish is simple - will spring for something more complex next time. Also love how they give fried udon noodles/fried onions for free to anyone who wants - great touch. Restaurant is not small, but fills up insanely fast. Arrived at 11:30 on a weekday and there were only a few people there, by 12 it was completely packed with a line of people waiting for tables. Not their fault, the food is just great. Prices are very reasonable and most people will find a regular portion to be more than adequate. Staff are great and helpful, even when it’s busy. Huge parking complex next door makes it easy too! If you’re an udon fan then this a no brainer, you have to give it a go.

Absolutely amazing Udon, we arrived 10 minutes before opening and the line was already long. Line moved fast, were lucky to get a seat as it was very busy, but everyone ate and left just as fast. Great food but be prepared to wait a bit if your coming during a busy time. Definitely worth it though. Udon was bouncy and firm with a great texture, the Dashi was tasty and not overpowering. All the tempura was great and the addition of the free crispy items was a happy and well received extra.

OMG, this was like Melbourne‘s Udon Yasan. So so good!! Luckily I didn’t have to wait long before ordering. Service was quick and efficient. I had Curry Udon. Udon was freshly made and the Japanese curry was just wow! Highly recommended!!

Just got back from Japan recently and I was craving more japanese food. I heard about Hifumiya from friends and decided to check it out. Yummy and delicious food. I had curry udon, terriaki chicken rice bowl and japanese curry as take out. Definitely recommend to anyone to go check it out if your in the city.

One and only udon specialist in Perth, and this place is such a hidden gem! I've been here numerous times and will keep coming back. They have hot and cold udon options, price is very reasonable and portion is big. I've tried different selections each time and all of them taste excellent! You can also feel the staff working there are very enthusiastic, which makes you feel very welcoming. Many of my friends recommend and like this place too! However, they only open for lunch, I hope they can open for dinner time too!

Amazing amazing amazing. Finally i can taste a real Udon in Perth. I ordered Beef Curry Udon. The location is hidden. Its better come before lunch time, otherwise its gonna be a long queue, but the service was fast. I would love to come here again and it’s the best Udon in Perth 💕

Udon (which is made in house) texture was really really good. The fried tempura and fried items u can probably skip. I prefer tempura fried upon order.

Everything you want from an authentic Udon joint, exactly like they're suppose to be in Japan. Food is delicious, portions are generous and the tempura variety is great! The udon noodle texture wasn't perfect and meat ingredients could be better but otherwise an awesome place~

Have visited on multiple occasions and the food is great EVERY time! Good value for money. If you're heading there for lunch, get there around 11:45 to beat the rush and get a seat. Not a great place for large groups as you are likely to be split up to be able to sit down.

  • 5/5 Kipp L. 10 months ago on Google
Usuallya buzzing place and queues during lunch period. No need to fret about getting a table as usually someone will leave by the time you order. Food is served quickly. Love the complimentary topping and tea. Loads of variety on the menu and many options as additional sides. Mini rice bowls are a bargain too.

The best udon place in Perth!! The hardworking team is all so nice and friendly. Always feeling welcomed! I have been back so many times, although I am always trying to miss the busy period 🤣 お疲れ様でした!❤️❤️

I cannot get over how amazing this place is in value. Sometimes, there is a line out the door, but it is always well worth the wait. It was hot the day I went, so I got cold Udon, and it is so satisfying seeing your meal prepared so quickly right before your eyes. Once you have your meal, you can add sides to your bowl (even though regular Udon is VERY deliciously filling, I almost didn't finish). There are plenty of seating set-ups for groups or pairs. My favourite Noodle House to go to in the city.

I've never been to Japan but my Japanese friends say this is one of the best restaurants in Perth. The noodles it's perfect, I love the beef curry. Teriyaki beef it's always a good choice and takoyaki was really tasty. The environment it's very cozy and friendly staff. I'll be back soon 😋

Really delicious udon! We came here for lunch on the weekend. Although there was a longish line it moves very quickly. The staff are fluent in English and Japanese. You are able to pick the main you want and then add on toppings after. All the food is really fresh and the udon is made in house. A main is around $10-15, very affordable.

Affordable and authentic japanese food! i ordered the curry udon with a side of chicken karage. Curry sauce had a good balance of spiciness and sweetness. Karage was well fried, crispy outside and juicy inside. definitely worth a visit

Simple lunch and very affordable, texture of udon was amazing! Generous portions and staff were super sweet. Highly recommend the cold mentaiko udon :-) 100% would travel here for lunch again.

This place is what I will always describe as the best eatery in Perth. Extremely high quality and consistent food, excellent service and staff that very clearly care about what they are doing, and their place in the industry. Highly recommended.

Hifumiya, where can I start? Firstly, this place is awesome. Hands down one of the best places to get lunch on this side of the city. All the dishes i've tried so far (chef's recommended and beef curry udon) have been outstanding. Beware, curry udon tastes awesome but will cover you in sauce if you're not careful hahaha. The service here is warm and lightning fast so be prepared to move along the line with your tray pretty quickly. Hifumiya is worth your time and money 100%.

Awesome Japanese food and customer service here..super fast, hot meals. 1st time here with work mates and it won't be my last! soup is delicious!!! Hidden in a lane way, so keep an eye out if your looking for it.👍🏽

This place is quick, affordable and delicious! Hidden little gem.... Highly recommend, it never disappoints. Good quality Udon and other delicious dishes. I keep coming back for the beef Curry Udon and chicken kaarage. This place turns into another restaurant at night called jigoro and has an entirely different setup and menu. Both worth checking out.

Authentic udo, great udo texture. Delicious fried sncks, yakitori was the best. Not much drink choices. Service was just average. The teller was in a rush. Some flying birds were standing on the tables with the customers to have our food.
