Nice small cafe on the water in the city. Good selection of meals and nice coffee to complement! With a visit to escape the busy city and relax

No worth at all to have breaky Ordered not crispy bacon but they cooked so fast i think they cooked in advance and just served it without checking my order. This menu, Sunrise breakfast is coming with mutigrain on the menu but it looks normal sourdough I waste everything

Came here because we wanted to have breakfast by the river. A small cafe but very crowded on a friday morning. Service is ok. Eggs benedict - The muffin was TOO hard. Impossible to eat. But spinach, eggs and sauce were ok. Buttermilk pancakes were too dry. Coffee was a little bad. So was a little sad to start our friday morning with a disappointing coffee. Parking was easy on the street. But will definitely not return again.

Beautiful place with amazing staff. Wish there was more heaters around the outdoor seats though.

This is a great little cafe in the beautiful swan river. Great coffee, with friendly staff and nice chilled vibe. I seriously had the best bacon and egg roll ever here! Really post experience

Family and I went to this place for lunch. It was a summy day and we say outdoors. Great view of the Swan River from where we sat. The food tasted great. I had Fish and Chips. It was 18 dollars. My son has Scrambled Eggs on Toast. He left some so I got a tasted. It was 12 dollars and it was a good helping. My wife ordered a Chicken Wrap. I think about 12. Coffee at this place is good

Great coffee, good food, nice location. It has a potential to be a great cafe! We went there almost every morning for their coffee while staying at the nearby hotel. Quite popular and could get busy at certain times. They could do with another pair of hands to help clean and set up the tables. The polenta & corn fitters were nice but needed some acidity (or something) to elevate the flavour. I’ll definitely come back to try out more on the menu.

Tasty breakfast, messed around with my order a bit, but okay. Rather simplistic dishes.

Great cafe with great atmosphere. The music is very vibey which makes it a nice place to relax after a bike ride, run or catching up with friends. The staff are very nice and accommodating. I was provided with a free Large chai latte because I was waiting for 8 minutes to be seated. Good menu options with a variety of diffent things to try. I will be returning in the near future.

Went for breakfast, they have a limited standard menu - nothing too fancy but it’s decent and done well. Waitress was lovely and views were great.

Great location on the water next to the Doubletree hotel and over the road from the Supreme Court gardens. Coffee was good and the bread for the toast was very tasty. The pancakes unfortunately we're not good. They were both dry and quite hard. Needed some force to push the knife through them. Wouldn't discount the place on the pancake fail, but would order something different next time.

An absolute delight to kick start my day with breakfast and breathtaking views! The "big breakfast" truly lived up to its name, satisfying my hunger completely. The long black coffee was brewed to perfection. What made it even better was the serene ambiance, allowing me to relish my breakfast in tranquility. A must-visit spot for a peaceful and delicious start to your day!

The big brekky was absolute rubbish..... zero flavour, poor quantity.... its as if they only put in 10 percent effort, or the good chef had the day off. I'm aware it's hard to find good people currently, but for the price point it should be edible

Best place for breakkie in Perth. Food was very good along the river. Despite the self service, it’s a very good experience here!

bad day? i sat at the park benches whilst my family used the scooters, waiting for someone to clean the used tables, no one came near , 20 mins waited for a sign of cleaning, we ordered 2 bottles of water and got out. if you want quick turn over of people, the tables should be cleaned immediately. very disappointing 😞

Coffee and the ambience are the reason why I came to this place. These two combinations are complete each other. Coffee tastes good, ambience is different with other coffeeshop. You should give it a try!

We ordered 2 meals with drinks, the fritters and the big breakfast. The food took 30 minutes which isn't unreasonable but on a busy weekday morning we were hoping for a little faster. When the food arrived it looked very nice. Disappointingly when I cut into my fritters 2 of the 3 were completely uncooked in the middle and the poached eggs were overcooked and extremely cold. We left these on our plates as they were unedible. We didn't have time to request a redress so I did not raise the issue with the restaurant. During our wait we also noticed some small mix ups with other orders.

Excellent coffee and great fish and chips. The batter on the fish was superb, but the fish was a little dry. Probably because the batter was so thick, but it was delicious. My mother had a really great looking salad, and the old man had nachos, which smelled amazing. Keep up the good work.

  • 5/5 Rebecca P. 1 year ago on Google
Very accommodating and polite. Perfect view though it did get quite breezy (my salad blew off my plate). Staff closed the shutters and I enjoyed my meal and drink. I ordered smashed avo and requested for no bread, the staff obliged happily.

Absolutely loved it. The food was so delicious and yet affordable. What I liked most was the service there. The ladies where absolutely lovely and I’ll be back for sure :)

Wonderful location and great freshly squeezed juices. That’s about it. Used to visit this place very often for all day breakfast until I’ve noticed the serving sizes started getting smaller and smaller over time. They served me eggs benedict with two tiny slices of bread. I thought they may have run out of bread (?) as it was close to closing time however a few days later the same situation happened. Again my eggs benedict were served with two ridiculously small slices of bread. Ordering two breakfast meals + drinks which was totalling about $70 each time, we were leaving the place semi hungry. That’s definitely not right. Ever since, I avoid this place and support other cafes that actually serve me what I paid for.

Greeted with smiles, beautiful location and the dish I had was quite possibly the tastiest breakfast I've had anywhere in perth! Would have been 5 stars if I didn't find shell in my eggs, the coffee was average also... not that it would stop me going back for more though. Great spot ladiesπŸ‘πŸ½

Fantastic cafe that has a compelling menu and wonderful service. We got a mocha and a banana smoothie along side the dill and corn fritters and avocado on toast. The dill and corn fritters tasted a little flat but overall was tasty. The avocado on toast would be better sold as a tomato and avocado on toast. Despite this, the location is wonderful and the service is great.

Lovely location, large portion sizes, good produce. Water in bottles for tables tasted a little odd?. Place gets busy on the weekend after 9/10am, so good idea to book ahead. Great value for money, beautiful views, & lovely area to walk around after your meal.

We were looking for a place with water views and atmosphere and stumbled on Rubra. Sylvie had Herbed Mushrooms on Toast and I had the Crab Croquettes with salad. The meals were outstanding for presentation, taste and size. The lady who served us was efficient and very helpful and friendly. We would recommend coming to Rubra if you're looking for a lovely spot to have a drink or meal. Well done and thank you to the Rubra team

I stopped in for a flat white. It was ok, pretty average. I like to have more espresso flavour, and this one was a bit milky. Some places have more espresso flavour and others more milk. But the view and being right on the river make this spot special. You can get it and sit to watch the river or take it and find a bench nearby. I'm likely to come by again in the future.

This place gets 5 stars purely because of the Barista with a brown ponytail/ undercut and big kind eyes. His coffee is consistently perfect and his service is patient and careful. As long as he is making my coffee I’ll always come back!

Best breakfast I have had in years. I had the 'hush puppy'. Every element was delicious and the eggs poached perfectly. Coffee was great and hot (the weather is freezing). Staff were efficient, welcoming and polite. Rubra is highly recommended! Fab view too.

Nice place, although the person taking the order was abrupt and rude, but waitress delivering my order with a smile more than made up for initial service findings. A friendly smile and warm welcome shouldn't be too much to ask for when you place an order. Food service was fast and delicious.

We were lucky enough to stay at the Ritz. When my partner told me she had great coffee and food at Rubra twice before, it was certainly on the visit list. The food was amazing, the coffee superb. We each had full breakfast and coffee for around $50, looking at the Swan River with really friendly staff. As this place oozes quality, the locals know this, so be prepared to wait and lap up the amazing scenery over the Swan. 11/10!

Can't believe how well the old rowing club fits in to all the crazy new development. Delicious food and coffee and served in good time despite the busy car racing weekend.

  • 3/5 Calum M. 3 years ago on Google
Slightly above average. Great view, prompt service but was a little offside with the following. Our 'cold milkshakes' were luke warm because they were put into really hot, fresh out of the dishwasher, glasses. In addition I guess I expected more of my meal, I had the pancakes and they weren't anything special... delicious of course, but I could have easily prepared them at home as it was basically pancakes with jam on top. I guess I just expected to be wowed, and it's what I look for when eating out.

I was having my breakfast alone. The birds came to bite my food when I was getting the ketchup. I am not sure is the food still safe to eat so I decided to tell the staff. The staff took my food back to the kitchen and came to told me that the chef will re do it but he was not really happy. I felt very disappointed on the service. You should be understanding and If u offer to re do it then you do it willingly. I could just left my food without eating it. Maybe u doesn't care to lose a customer but this is a bad experience.

We went there was juice and was given literally half the glass , since we ordered without ice, my wife had been to the same place a week ago, and was given a complete glass on the same order. On questioning the two ladies they said, thats the amount we give if you order without ice. Also the beet root juice was full with residues.

Food came out quickly, but everything was stone cold - which was surprising considering how quickly it came out. Kids pancakes on the menu said they came with strawberries and maple syrup, however came out covered in chocolate sauce. They offered to change them which was nice. Coffee was good and it’s a lovely location on the water.
