A good hotel in Northbridge. I can walk to the Perth Mosque for every prayer, and jog to Hyde Park every morning. But there are not many halal restaurants around here. The room is clean and comfortable.

There were some good and bad things about this place. The value for the money was good, and the location is really great. The hotel rooms felt a bit old and while they were clean, it felt more like a one-night budget hotel. Kind of... the bare minimum. The people working the counter were very nice, but I went to check in, and was (politely) directed to use the self check-in kiosk. I am not sure why I could not just do the whole process with the person behind the counter. Again, super nice and helpful person, just my personal opinion on wanting to interact with a person. It is ok for a night, but maybe just a hotel for passing through the area. Not really what I would consider great for a longer term visit.

Good location, Rude staff . They made us feel like we were doing something wrong by asking to check in and they had no interest at all in us. Can't fault the cleaners though Rooms are pretty decent. The rooms with no windows are quite nice but make sure you get out in the sun at some points

So came here when I landed from my long flight. Just a place to lay my head for the night before being picked up. The place was basic but comfortable. I had a windowless room so felt bit claustrophobic but it was fine if you just want a bed for the night.

It's hard to find a place this close to the city in this price range. Pretty much the cheapest hotel around and I will say that it's actually a pretty good hotel for the price. Not dingy at all as you might expect from a cheaper place. Airline staff from Batik and Air Asia use this as their stopover hotel so that says something. My wife and I stayed 1 night for a quick trip to the big smoke. They have secure parking underneath the hotel for $15. If you have a bigger car it will be a squeeze. Hotel was pretty quiet and had a really good sleep. Shower was a dream with good pressure and very hot. Fridge in room and kettle 👍

Charge for parking that is already full... Needs to flush 7 times for toilet to work properly. Bed sheet doesn't fit well... But staff seems friendly :)

I have always stayed at this hotel whenever I am in Perth but after my last visit, I am definitely getting a different hotel next time. I got the worst room ever. If EVER, I stay there again I am definitely not staying in lower rooms close to the basement car park. The rooms are not sound proof and could hear people from next room.

Stayed here Feb 2023 for 5 nights. On Positive note,,, excellent location. Restaurant 1903 located in hotel excellent. Food is something else and well priced. The restaurant staff are credit to hotel and exceptional at quality of food and service. Negative notes,,,I was allocated ground floor room which had no window. At first I didn't mind but as there 5 days I was feeling cabin fever. On entering room I found previous guests socks under desk and lots of hair and general dirt lying around room on carpet etc. The hotel in general is excellent but house keeping need to up standards. Overall enjoyed stay here esp food and relaxed atmosphere. Due back in Perth in coming weeks for spell again but not sure would repeat stay esp in room with no natural light. Pity as location is excellent.

I stayed here for 4 days. The room with a window was quiet and tidy. The price was right. It was cheap, but it was a good place. Above all, the smile of 'Shili', the breakfast restaurant employee, made me happy every day.

Stayed for 2 nights. On the second night, I randomly moved the pillow and found 2 bed bugs under it. Reported to reception next morning. They apologised and just refunded $12 I paid for breakfast. I paid $300 for the room!

The hotel is decent and the price was good but my partner and I have called reception over 5 times (!!!) (My partner twice and myself over 3 times) today after we checked out in order to get a tax invoice mailed to me. The same lady was answering both of us, and after 3(!!) conversations with her I still don't have the invoice in my mail even though all my details were taken during 2 out of 3 conversations. Every single conversation we had with this receptionist was difficult and amounted to nothing, even after she assured both of us the receipt would be sent. The first conversation with my partner resulted in "If I can mail it to you I will" and she simply hung up without taking any details. She was very difficult to communicate with and seemed to lack the proper English skills for her position. I am not sure if this is a language barrier issue, but we just need a tax invoice and don't understand why we have had to go to this length to get one. We also sent an email to the hotel requesting the invoice after the failed conversations and still received nothing. It's unacceptable that I have to beg for something that is supposed to be issued by law and still not receive it. Absolutely horrible customer service experience, a waste of our time and energy, and I don't think that the mentioned receptionist should be answering the phone

I don't often write reviews but I have to write this one because of how upset I am. This hotel is a joke. After staying here multiple times and paying using the same debit card they decided it is not good enough anymore because it doesn't have my middle name written on it. Provided them with my partner's debit card but the arrogant people won't accept it either. And cherry on top they cancelled by reservation 24 hours prior to stay knowing fully well that I won't be able to rebook. Not sure what is wrong with this hotel but there is something seriously wrong.

I've stayed here a number of times & enjoyed the friendly & professional service. It's very clean, comfortable and central to Northbridge and the city. Walking is very do able, otherwise public transport is handy. There is a nice breakfast in the morning at a very reasonable price & dinner if you wish to dine in.

Staff is flexible and easy to help out. Rooms are tidy for the price. Compared to one i stay earlier at an expensive rate this one rates 10 x for lower price.. therefore I extended my stay twice so far..cant get any better than this..very conveniently located 20 minutes walk to city centre as well..

I absolutely do not recommend this hotel. The wall is so thin that you can hear your neighbor's snoring as if you were in the same room. Then a drunk guy screamed… In a nutshell, I couldn't sleep all night. Nothing was done to compensate. As I said, if I paid for a room (almost 300 AUD for 2 nights), it's not just to sit on my bed but to sleep. To be noted: the WiFi is very very low. Very very disappointing. Contrary on what you said, the problem has not been resolved promptly as I prefer to leave on 4AM because the noise was too really unbearable. (While the drunk man was still in the hotel). Regarding the standard of the room, please advise clearly on the website.

I found this hotel at the price point excellent. Reception friendly and efficient. Rooms clean, good clean linen. Nice stay. The 1903 bar/casual dining in the lobby is in my humble opinion very good in quality and price. The staff are what I would consider to be on point, busy but attentive.

Definitely value for money, more like a decent motel. Read on if you mistakingly think this is a good review. At the time of staying the floor was being painted and had heavy smell, the TV is 28” and the water runs yellow.. but the cleaning staff are nice and location is good. Avoid Ganganath at reception at all costs, I was looking to book an additional 2 nights and the Agoda website was playing up so I tried to book it manually downstairs - I was called a liar infront of staff and other guests, told that I am trying to start something and that if I wasn’t careful he would cancel my reservation on the spot (with my partner already in the room). He also had cancelled my booking on Agoda when I handed him my phone to show that the reservation was processing / refused to stop talking over me and acted like he had all rights to my comfort knowing I needed to stay another night. I had to pay extra in the end instead of with Agoda but atleast I have the option of charging back directly with Mastercard. I requested the card or contact details of a general manager or someone else to speak to about other matters that I didn’t want to converse with the rude Duty Manager Ganganath and he refused to give anything other than the front reception email address for complaints. Sad as the hotel has been a great stay for years but to be treated like a second class citizen is not what I expect from them. Will be sharing my experience with as many as I can while I remember the snark smile I was presented at the end of my awkward dealings.

This Hotel is amazing!! The staff is really friendly and can provide good advice for local sightseeing. The lobby is beautiful and all the electric doors are so cool! The room is clean and tidy with supplies. I booked again after yesterday. The location of the hotel is also great, easier to many places, Thanks!

It’s a really great hotel. Easy walk to Northbridge centre. Close to restaurants and shops. The room was very clean and the staff were friendly and welcoming. We had the added breakfast which was value for money. The hotel overall was very clean and a real compliment to the staff and management. Well done.

Great value for money! Have stayed here many times; our go to for an affordable one night stay in Perth CBD. Only cons are - rooms are not sound proof so can be quiet loud at night, no windows, and some rooms smells quite musty, and no microwave. Plus side is, there’s a self check in/out station for a more rapid process.

Place before that I always been a regular customer on this place ne always had an average service this time I’ve been quit disappointed. I couldn’t get the room for new year becuase too late which was reasonable and fine but unfortunately my car has a high clearance which means I needed i high covered park and as a customer I thought to give a call to them for use then car park service in a “ full public service” at the call the manager said to me that wasn’t a problem and that the fee would be 20 dollars a day which for me was perfect the problem is when Ive arrived at the hotel, two guys at the reception answer me in a really rude way, one of them run in the office for don’t even talk and the other one didn’t even look at me in the face while I was explain the situation. I found anyway better place to stay and where to park, probably one customer less. Rude service and total disappointment.

Stayed in one of the budget rooms with no window, could be very loud at night as the room had an adjoining room with a locked door in between. The room itself was pleasant enough no complaints. The staff was very friendly and super helpful with questions. Overall a decent stay for the price.

Beautiful establishment in Northbridge. Reasonable rates I am having for a week. My room is comfortable with queen bed and TV and ensuite and small fridge. Reception was easy. They made me feel at ease.

  • 2/5 C 8 months ago on Google
Price has doubled since I last stayed here which is pretty bad considering the state of the rooms. The room I was in had patches on the wall from damages, the shower was awful and almost flooded the bathroom while in use and had mould in it. The beds are so hard and uncomfortable. My back was killing me and the bedding isn’t warm enough during winter. I probably wouldn’t care about any of those other things if the bed was just comfortable enough to be able to actually get a good nights rest. Not sure if I’ll stay here again.

Big room but the carpet stink. Rarely see a hotel with fan. I like it because air-conditioning is dry for me. Nice located at Northbridge which Asian can easily have food here. Little China town.

I would had given 2 star for the lovely lady at the front that gave us an early check in, her service was absolutely amazing. The walls of the room are covered in marks, looks they haven’t been cleaned since early BC. Paper thin walls, cleaners bashing and crashing around in rooms. Then it came to the end of our stay. I rang reception talked to Ganganath, asked if we could have a late check out. Yep! No worries. It came to my partner and I looking for a new place to stay, found a great deal with the same people on Agoda. Done deal! Except, the app was bugging out. Rang reception talked to Gilgamesh again, asked if he could price match - he could only do us extra $2 lol.. amazingly, after a few mins, the app worked and it was processing! Then we kindly rang reception once more, and let them know it’s just us and to rebook our room so they didn’t need to worry about the cleaning of it etc. Well… then things got REAL sour. He didn’t believe the app was bugging out, my partner had to go down to reception and speak in person. He grabbed my partners phone and changed the screen to ‘cancelled’. Unknowingly to us, he had cancelled it because he knew we were staying an extra night so he could get an extra $2. We realised this was for certain when checking his email when he got back to the room, seeing successful confirmations and one cancelled one, at the time of the face to face talk. We then had to pay, not through the app, so we couldn’t do anything with Agoda because their service is impeccable. Agoda is expecting money because of the confirmed booking and we are Gold VIP. In the end, our stay was terrible. I DO NOT RECOMMEND this hotel! P.S… I’m from the Great Southern, this does not feel Great Southerny at all. Maybe with the marks on the walls 🤣

Cheap hotel yes...we all have our good experiences and we have our bad. I get that. But when a hotel offers guest wifi and a smart TV.... Why would they lock that smart tv out of the internet even there own??? Link your bloody TVs up to your own internet??? It's embarrassing

Staff are always polite and friendly, but the last 2-3 times we've stayed here, the room smells really bad, last time we went prepared with a bottle of Glen to spray everywhere. We only stay here because of the rates. The room seems clean for the most part, so I don't know where the bad smell comes from.

Brilliant, helpful staff on reception and domestic staff. Bathroom didn't smell fresh. Smelt like someone had been smoking in there. Grout on floor near toilet needs scrubbing. Sprayed with Glen 20 each day. Great choice and variety of food places within walking distance, including supermarket

Really disappointed with our stay! Have stayed before and never had a bad experience like this .. asthma puffer left randomly on the floor, floors were really dirty, and it appeared to look like somebody urinated on them wall .. didn’t expect 5 star for the low price but really unhygienic. On a positive the breakfast was good and so was the customer service.

  • 4/5 Samuel E. 1 year ago on Google
Comfortable enough, with friendly helpful staff. Room was spacious and clean, but a little noisy. Good cooked breakfast. Reasonable walking distance to Perth station. Close to Northbridge restaurants.

I have stayed at this hotel multiple times and was always a really good experience! Unfortunately my partners and I most recent stay was not the best. We decided to pay the bit extra and get the room that cost a bit more then normal thinking we were getting a nicer room to treat ourselves. Unfortunately that was not the case, I was beyond disappointed to find the bathroom was the exact same as the other rooms even tho it is advertised different online when booking! My friends rooms were nicer and they just got the standard! Our walls were dirty and just wasn’t worth paying the extra. Also not to mention as we were all checking in the person behind the counter was rude and did not make us feel welcome at all! I’m sure it was just a one time thing as usually this hotel and staff is really good!

Horrendous……every single sound from other rooms or the corridors echos through your room at all hours of the night, it makes sleep impossible. Being cheap attracts a certain type of clientele, a guest tried jumping out the window one night, security, police, ambulance …..don’t do it, pay a bit more and enjoy staying in Perth

I booked this hotel because it was almost the cheapest thing available. Although the rooms are dated. The price is very good. The food and drinks in the hotel are better then most 5 star hotels. I can't express how impressed I was by this hidden gem!!! Shocked.

  • 5/5 Terry C. 2 years ago on Google
This really is a great little hotel and is very affordable. Friendly and helpful staff, clean and modern rooms. The room i stayed in I have paid twice the price before for half the quality. The only 2 faults I could find was the bed was a little hard and the hotel restaurant does mainly asian food which I can’t eat due to allergies. I didn’t eat there but I would have if there had been more western options that I could have eaten. That said when you are paying $80 per night, you really can’t gripe because they really do deliver

Pleasantly surprised with the hotel. Better than I thought it would be for a low end accommodation. Parking was available for $15 extra. Staff were extremely pleasant and professional. Wasn't located in the most picturesque streets in the area but made up for it in presentation. Highly recommended.

The room is not sound proof and the mattress needs updating. Great price at the hreat location, so the nice restaurant downstairs did not get a look in by me, but it was pretty busy in the evening with diners and drinkers. So close to great restaurants and bars.

Having previously had an alright experience we decided to book again and after our experience this time I just wouldn’t bother again. The hotel decided to undertake maintenance work on an electrical fault in the room next to ours which meant drilling and banging from 8am. This was then followed by the power to our room being turned off with no communication. The room we were in has no windows, so we were stuck in the dark, with no aircon or power for appliances or devices. When I asked reception about it they offered no time frame for the disruption or apology for the noise. I had to come back down to reception and ask again before they sent someone up to find out. Even then, no attempt at remedying the situation was made. No solutions were put forward. How hard would it have been to invite us to leave our room and have a complimentary breakfast in the restaurant or access to another room just to shower and be able to start our day properly. It was incredibly disappointing customer service. No communication prior to the planned maintenance and poor resolution offered after. The rooms are clean but barebones. A kettle and 2 shallow teacups with a teaspoon each are the only crockery. Not even a glass for water. I had to ask reception for one and was given a paper cup instead. And don’t get me started on the lemon-scented lobotomy that assaults your nostrils every time you walk into the foyer. Overall, clean but severely lacking hotel stay. The rooms lack basic amenities that are standard for the industry, the customer service leaves a lot to be desired and the self-rated 4 stars on the website is way off the mark. 2.5/5
