I had the worst experience with this hostel! We had booked a week from our arrival in Perth for a private double room. 4 days before we were informed that due to technical problems they would cancel our reservation. Instead of them offering me alternative accommodation I had to request it myself. (And already here bad). Eventually we managed to book two beds in a women's dormitory, I ask several times by calling even if it was confirmed and they say yes. We arrive in the evening and the receptionist was not in his office, a hostel guest had to call him. He tells us after at least 20 minutes of waiting that they were overbooked and the only solution was for one to sleep in the lobby couch and the other could in a free bed. Not satisfied though, he also asks us if we would be back the next day. After a Sydney-Perth flight and an 11:30 p.m. arrival we had to look for other accommodation. Don't go there

Unfortunately very disappointing. Nothing good to say except for the wonderful location. We had a private room. The bathroom was dirty and there was mould on the walls. It felt like the room had not been cleaned for 2 months. I found rubbish and old sunglasses under the couch (if anyone misses them). The bed almost broke when I put it in, and it kept making noises when I moved it. Internet is only available at the entrance but not in the room. Of course we don't have to discuss the price, but a certain standard and hygiene is part of every price. Sorry guys.

I was there for a couple of weeks, the best Hostel in Perth compared with price. Big kitchen, full optional, air condition and locker in EVERY ROOMS. STAFF SUPER FRIENDLY they really understand your needds I REALLY RECOMMEND IT.

of the three showers, only one worked, the bathroom was not cleaned, the bed was old, the mattress was not comfortable, the bed had no rails, the window was broken and could not even be closed, and the roommate who lived there was nervous, scared, two nights was enough, I would have preferred a 3 star hotel,

Double booked my room, didn’t bother to tell me, accused me of being rude and hung up the phone when I asked them to fix the problem. Left me on the street in Perth at midnight. Never book this place - you can’t trust it.

We went with a larger private room and it worked for us but what really makes Emperor Crown the standout compared to other options near the city is the price, the facilities (especially the kitchen where you have 5! operating full kitchen stoves), the general facilities (plenty of workspace, plenty of game area, 2 outdoor areas, general tv area), large storage for our food in the kitchen and well managed meaning things did not go missing during our stay. The rooms are kept clean and tidy with access to extra pillows or blankets never an issue. What makes it easy to recommend? The Staff. Johnnie and Andrew are the two guys you will deal with and they are always helpful and happy to assist but the rest of the staff are always available (even at 2 am in the morning) and manage the place well with no trouble for family or couples.

The worst experience ever! I booked for a night on the weekend that Coldplay was in town, so no other place was available by the time they suddenly cancelled on me 2 nights before. By email, not even a phone call apologising for the situation they’ve dumped me into. I replied to the email, no reply at all. I had booked well ahead of time, and their excuse for cancellation was a glitch in the system?! They cancelled on me 2 weeks after booking confirmation, don’t think it takes 2 weeks to identify system glitch. And of course, they never explained what the hell happened.

I booked a room 2 weeks before my arrival. I had a message the day of my arrival (30min before) to tell me they are overbooking and they can't accommodate ! I knew their reputation wasn't good but it's a shame ! Now i don't know where to sleep... Never go there !

First hostel ever where I arrived and had a breakdown bc I was so disappointed. Good things first: Staff supernice, got me from my original 6dorm with 5 guys to a 4dorm with 3 other girls - no extra fee. Staff remembered my name even though we only spoke at check-in and when changing rooms. Kitchen huge, still not toooo much space in fridge, quite clean for all those ppl cooking. Downside: not really backpacker hostel, lots of ppl staying already there for months or even more, working. Biggest downside was the (bath)rooms. Old, wall was falling off in mine, looked moldy, smelled moldy (the entire hostel) even though we had open windows all the time. I was showering with shoes bc dirt on bathroomfloor seemed to be there the entire 6 days, toiletbins not emptied in a week, no toilet paper in 1 outta 2 toilets for 2 days… Apparently they’re renovating but 45$ per night for that? Didn’t want to touch anything bc it looked and smelled bad. Would add photos but can’t….

Worst Hostel I never seen in my all life. People staying there are most of them using drugs or drinking. TV on the ground, no heater in the room so 10 degres in the room and when we ask them for the aircon they said we can give you a extra blanket. At 1:00AM a girl start to put music and singing like it was 4PM. That a joke. Horrible experience. This Hostel must shutdown as soon as possible for the respect of normal. humanity. Stay far away from this Hostel.

Rooms is fantastic and clean, staff are very helpful and attentive. Kitchen facilities are superb.

Made reservation 2 weeks prior to arrival, rocked up and they had cancelled my "confirmed" reservation. Dirty floors at entry, not recommended place to stay

Rooms and common areas are kept reasonably clean (but could be better). Rooms are an ok size. Not all rooms have a working reverse cycle air conditioning unit. The communal kitchen closes at 9:30pm so is not very convenient. There isn't much of a common area. There is a couch that seats seven people in front of a small tv in the foyer. But there always seems to be people sleeping on the couches in the tv area. There are a few couches in the hallway. Wifi is not very good. And I got locked out because I wasn't given the up to date code for the front door, and when I called the number that was provided no one answered. There is a $10 deposit and dorm rooms are $25 per night. If you want to stay somewhere quiet and keep to yourself than this place is ok.

I can't recommend this hostel enough! It's incredibly affordable, and the staff are simply amazing. They're always available, 24/7, and go above and beyond to help with anything you need. The kitchen is spacious and spotless, making it a joy to cook and mingle with fellow travelers. The overall vibe is warm and inviting. Plus, the location couldn't be better! It's a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and great people. I'll definitely be coming back here on my next trip!

As someone who used to stay there for a year- I highly recommend this place. Specially now, that this place has had major upgrades. Always kept clean, amazing staff who always want to help & a great place to meet good people. Ideal location, just a 5 minute walk to the city area. Cherry on top of it all are the great affordable prices. Thank you for the kindness and lovely space.

I've been staying at the crown since February. I have enjoyed my stay because of the awesome staff especially Phil. Phil has put a lot of time and effort in to emperors crown always willing to help when needed. This place has changed for the good since I last was here and that due to the hard work time and energy executed by Phil. I would also like to thank Shane as well, awesome hospitality all round. Really bad attention. They call me at midday to say me that the room that I booked was full, so I can’t go there. And also, they doesn’t want to cancel the booking, so I had to pay for the night. The man in reception was more than rude. Completely disappointed.

They rang me the day before our booked stay saying we couldn't stay there due to maintenance issues. Now we are stuck as all the reasonably priced hotels are sold out.

Been staying here since I arrived in Perth last week. Moved here with my partner to relocate for long term career opportunities (I'm a technician and she's an engineer). Since arriving here the staff have made our stay fantastic. Johnny and Tee are awesome, any requests or issues and they sort it immediately. The location is perfect for being close to the city, walking distance to everything you need. The rooms are tidy, facilities are great, and many of the other people staying are very friendly and welcoming. Me and my partner are currently looking for our own house, but right now we're very happy to stay here as it's welcoming and friendly.

Mid range priced accommodation for locals, and long term overseas backpackers. Prices start st $25 a night fir a shared room with three other people. Efficient and effective management run the place well

All the staff is soft spoken, well trained, highly professional specially Andrew, Appreciate his help during my stay in Crown. All the services are available in 24x7. The environment is very clean and air conditioner are available always on demand. The water is available in kitchen is very clean.

I stayed in this hostel for 3 nights, very well received. The rooms are really nice and the mattresses rather pleasant. If you've been traveling for a long time and you want to relax a bit, this is the ideal place, quiet and close to the CBD. See you soon !

Great management. Communal areas kept clean and tidy. Clean sheets and pillow for a single bunk $35 is great value. Keep your room clean and be respectful to your share mates and this is probably the best value for money places in the city. Check it out...
