Worst hostel in Perth so far. We stayed there for 3 weeks. This hostel has the worst rules in the world and it one of the more expensive in the city. The shower in the room was horrible, leaking everywhere even during the night and the water jet was messy so it makes ur shower a nightmare. A guy broke the light of the toilet and they manage to fix it after 2 weeks!! Beds are really bad and noisy. Laundry opens at 2 pm so if u need to wash ur clothes in the morning you can’t. Kitchen close at 10 pm!! Unbelievable, if you finish work late and you want to grab some food or a beer that you have in the fridge you can’t!! The guys at the reception are so rude and unkind and they don’t even give us back the deposit for the keys. Swimming pool we never used it cause it looks really dirty and they barely clean it. In the evening you can’t even stay in the common area cause they stoke all the chair in top of the tables.

This is the worst hostel I’ve ever been to. male receptionist who wears glasses was so rude and arrogant. He took me to a bed which was not clean and he forced me to clean it by myself. He finally threw the sheet to me. The room was quite dirty. I wouldn’t recommend here

Lady with coloured hair at reception was extremely rude. I don't feel welcomed into this hostel. She screams at people to put their facemask on while eating, and she is not wearing one herself. The kitchen closes at 10pm, If I have a nightshift I can't even cook after I come 'home'. Other receptionstaff are really friendly. Just feel like her attitude towards people isn't very professional.

We are extremely happy with our choice of this hotel. They allowed us an early check-in. The room is very large and on the pool side of the hotel. It has a very nice and quiet feel. The location of the hotel is amazing. There are so many good restaurants, bars, and cafes nearby. This is a very fun place to stay.

Would definitely not recommend if you are a solo female traveler. One of the worst hostels I’ve been in Australia. Felt very unsafe, one of the first thing the staff said to me is to keep my rented cutlery in the room as people steal things in the kitchen…not very reassuring. It was also very dirty with a rowdy crowd. Police had to come to kick someone out the hostel…

One of the worst hostels I’ve ever been to. The room was so dirty, there is no comfortable chill out area, the pool is really dirty and I couldn’t sleep, as the people out of my room walked in and out at 1am. If you want a cozy comfortable and clean Hostel go to the Shiralee Hostel.

Probably the worst backpackers I’ve ever been to. Really dirty room that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in months - cigarette butts all over the floor, heaps of rubbish all over carpet and under beds, old mouldy food sitting on plates under beds, and very smelly. The sheets I was given to make the bed were stained and so was the mattress. Not a welcoming environment at all. I decided to check out within 20 mins of being there, I told reception why I was leaving and they didn’t even go and check the room after being told of its condition. I also didn’t receive a refund even though I was there for a total of 20 minutes. Would not recommend at all

I always enjoy staying at Billabong, always such a great stay. The staff are Amazing! They're nice, friendly, a great laugh and work hard too to ensure a great stay. Rooms are always clean, laundry facilities avaliable on site, breakfast included, pool + recreation area, parking on site, and it's perfectly located that you can get anywhere quickly. Perfect for people first arriving in Australia and FIFO workers. Would definetly recommend!

I highly recommend ! Had a blast at the Billabong, quite a busy hostel so easily made many friends from around the world, the kitchen is spacious with all the amenities needed, they have a great pool area with picnic tables where everyone relaxes and met other people. I found the staff to be welcoming and helpful if i had any question. if im ever back in Perth ill definitely be back.

It's not so easy for me to give the review for this hostel. On the positive side is a free breakfast and dorm rooms with walls between some beds, so it feels more private. On the negative side is, that it's not really clean and although we booked a lot in advance, we didn't get a room together and had to switch rooms after a time. I think it could be an amazing place with more cleaning and a little bit better organisation. The staff was still nice, but a little bit to unorganized. Still thanks for the stay. Maybe thia review could help you.

Stayed for a week, really noting to fault, the staff are very accommodating and friendly. Amenities are a little dated but clean. Really good location. Good walking distance to Elizabeth Quay. Do recommend!

Good location rooms are alright for what it is the pool and washing and dryers are very good the price is what it is when choosing to be in the city but it's close by everything the bus is out the front to Morley or city bus station. The BP across the road has all the essential stuff and the front desk at the Billabong also has drinks and snacks for sale . At a reasonable price. There is parking on site but it is paid Parking thru the city of Perth . And a lovely park 100meters down the road and on the other side you have a hairdressers and a decent choice of little bouquet cafes and restaurants and bars. Close by the Brisbane hotel with a beautiful restaurant and Bar . Not far from the Brass monkey and Patriot Bar .

I would really urge anyone not to stay at this hostel. I stayed here on and off while I worked at the mines. I stayed most of the time in private but sometimes shared. I was a pretty low maintenance guest as I just kept to myself but I noticed the staff were becoming more and more rude to me. One day, I was studying on an app for an English exam and some guy came up accusing me of recording him in the lobby. I offered to show my phone but he just cursed and walked off. I thought that was weird but just ignored it. I came back to pick my stuff up when I returned from working and I was informed by a lady called Lucy that I was banned for recording women. So the guy made up a story and without actually investigating it the staff have banned me. She said if I’m nice to the manager that maybe I can return. I was in shock. Such a ludicrous, defamatory claim with no evidence and she wanted me to plead with management to comeback. Anyways, I wouldn’t recommend this place. They’re lucky I didn’t sue.

The hostel always depends on the people who you shared with. We had lucky to stay with two good respectful partners of room. There’s a big kitchen and a pool. Sometimes is noisy at night but the thing that for me it’s the most important: cleanliness of bathrooms and rooms was good. There’s breakfast up to 10 am that includes cereal, coffee, tea, sugar and bread. Good point. An advice: book in advance.

Extremely rude staff, they discriminate against Australians and got hung up on just because i am born in Australia with a valid Australian passport. Incredibly upset with how i was treated. Very expensive too. $175 a week for a 2 star backpackers hostel with a green dirty pool is a joke!!. This business seriously needs to reconsider how they treat the public and Australian citizens. Im from over east and still travelling.

Extremely dirty dormitory. other dormates were disrespectful and I booked a female dormitory but a girl bought a guy to dormitory and was very loud all night. Reception young lady was really nice and helpful but sadly they have strictly no refund policy. unless you are a person looking for crazy nightout and sleep at a dirty loud place. please don't go here. waste of money

Loved that they have free breakfast. Love that they have 5-dollar meal to buy for dinner. Love that they have a pool. I did not like that they don't have proper sun chairs and that they only clean the rooms 1 time per week. They should at least clean 2 times per week and the walls should've been made more soundproof. So if you like to live in a quiet place don't go here. They're like no sockets in the rooms and there really should be AC in all rooms and not only AC's that make such an awful sound that you can't sleep.

Basic double room for $45/night - good value. Mostly friendly staff, a couple ladies were super helpful! Unfortunately the wifi does not reach all the rooms and even in the common areas it was really really slow. Lovely to have tea and coffee always available. Pool is an added bonus. They close the kitchen completely at 10 which is a little early but also keeps drunk people from munching on your food.

Great hostel! Stayed here for just shy of a week and had a great time! The facilities are really good, with one of the most feature-rich kitchens I've seen in a hostel (ovens and gas hobs... Unreal!). The common areas were large and plentiful, movie room, large dining room, pool etc. Couldn't ask for much more. Could imagine it'd be a great place for living longer term also, not just for the short term like myself. Loved the location, stones throw away from everything! 24 hour reception so I always felt safe and secure. Could not fault it! Stay here!

Nice place to stay with a swiming pool, but the outside close at 11pm and the kitchen at 10pm so it's hard to keep your drink fresh for the night as all the fridges are there or even if you feel hungry late

The worst experiences I had with the staff. There was only one helpful. If you are looking for an environment supported by the business, that's not the place. As a big hostel you will always find nice guests around tho.
