Appalling behaviour from what I thought was a respectable establishment. Dishonest staff asked to leave with no notice by accusations that were false. Sold my bed out days before I left without letting me know. Leaving me in the dark with minimal time to prepare although I had paid for the full week. No sign of a refund. Facilities inadequate for the populas of the hostel. Poor hygiene and ridden with bed bugs. Overall disgusted with the experience! Worst in perth! FACT.

If I could rate a 0 star I would. Worst hostel I’ve ever stayed in. We were moved hostel without our knowledge and didn’t match up to the pictures. The boss was extremely rude, no customer service whatsoever and no sympathy. Booked a 4 bed dorm but we were in separate rooms… make it make sense.

Very unsafe place, 2 stabbing in just a couple weeks, easily the most horrific place I've been too. Will never stay here again.

Unfortunately there isn't a 0 star option otherwise I'd definitely select it. Perth city backpackers is a run-down, unhygienic, over priced shoddy excuse of a hostel. The pictures are years and years old giving you the impression it's worth staying but I can assure you, it isn't. If the rotten smell, urine soaked beds or the mouldy showers doesn't put you off then the rude and unwelcoming staff certainly will. The best part of my stay was walking out the door and not looking back

Great value for money. I love coming here whenever I’m back from my mine swings. Overall, this hostel offers cheap dorms, clean facilities, and a place very close to Perth city center. The staff is very accommodating and friendly too. Good point as well: 🚎 if you don’t have a car, you can get access to the CBD in a few minutes with the Redcat or yellowcat buses (for free). 🚘 If you do have a car, there is the hostel parking (only 50$/week) or free street car spots from 6PM to 8AM in front of the hostel.

The room was really messy. I mean I found burgers behind the window... And rubbish in the floor... Apparently nobody knows how to use the bin. The bathrooms were surprisingly clean. The staff doesn't have to much experience. The kitchen was a truly mess and disgusting. Really hard to find a fork or spoon to eat (cutlery for 2 people in a hostel).

Simply the worst backpacker hostel i've been Perth, way too expensive for the service (50$ a night), even the best backpacker hostel is cheaper when you choose to sleep in a dormitory. You have to be careful to your belonging it's easy to get robbed, someday it stink of sweat and make you feel you are at the gym club. Even if you book for 2 people they will not tell you that you are not in the same room. And about the guy who got his phone robbed in the last comment, they forgot to say that there are rooms that do not close so he would have been robbed even by being careful. The only thing I liked about this place is the people working here, most of them are very nice.

I'm filing a discrimination lawsuit against you, despite what you think, Australians are allowed to travel their own country without paying 100k in hotels. You are turning away people based on their nationality. Which is completely illegal and you have no idea what coming to you. This has already been proven in multiple court cases.

They messed up my booking. So, I was standing there after a 21hour flight with 30kg of luggage at 9pm, and they didn't even try to help me after giving me this info. 1 Star is too much!

Not accustomed to backpacker life, but yeah wouldn't choose this place if I wasn't homeless..

Stayed in this hostel for 2 months. Staff were very friendly, and met some great people there. Good kitchen area, toilets & showers , that are all cleaned on a regular basis.

Quite central. Bit of a messy hostel, broken furnitures where people sit to relax in the back in the parkinglot, A confusing kitchen where nothing is where it's supposed to be 😅. One of the mens bathroom stalls was missing a door 🤔 We arrived 4 people, with a booking of 1 room 4 people (4 bed dorm, booked 2 months in advance), we got placed separately in four different dorms. I know this might be difficult to arrange at a hostel where alot if it's guests are working and lives there for weeks or months, but two and two could at least have been arranged. Others in the group did not feel comfortable alone nor safe to even leve a bag in the room for the day (they now refuse to stay at hostels). Otherwise it's a ok hostel, would recommend if you are looking for something basic (somewhere to sleep) and traveling alone. First day in Australia and in a group, then I would not recommend this hostel.

Today 23/11,  I was around 9:30 p.m. resting in my bed about to sleep, when the person who attends the rooms of Asian origin comes in, yelling because I didn't tell the new roommate where he was going to sleep when I'm not the one who works in the hostel and started shouting to me, causing annoyance to me, who is the client, and to the new client who entered. There must be a severe call for attention to this person because his behavior was very annoying. I finished my fifth night here and won't come back.

Rooms not as pictured and no ventilation. Bed sheets are left for you to put on yourself when you arrive to your room. Feels and looks like a long termer hostel for tradies.

Terrible hostel, even if you do a group booking you will be split up into separate rooms, we were also moved hostel as they clearly can’t cope with organisation and over bookings for one busy weekend of the year. The boss is rude and even though he reassures you that he knows what he’s doing, he also can’t give you authority for a refund.

Paid 15$ for a bed for a single night. The room was filthy mostly cause of roommates but my bed was fine. The public kitchen, bathroom and showers were surprisingly clean and private. They clean it every morning. The window of my room can't be sealed shut, so you'll have to find a way to deal with mosquitoes. I can't imagine sleeping here during hot summers being pleasant at all. But 15$ gets you the 15$ bedding experience. My roommate was friendly, staff was nice, the overall vibe in the common rooms was energetic albeit, these are the kinds of people who are just getting by in life or living very frugally. They were interesting to observe at the very least. I stayed in Hay street Inn afterwards due to my booking circumstances, but honestly, i think I personally would've rathered I stay here since it's a less socially isolated experience. That's just me

make a lot of friends here, good vibe, huge kitchen, close to Elizabeth Quay and Swan river which is amazing for me Definitely recommend the hostel to my friends

This place is way too crowded to have a comfortable stay. Even with a lot of staff working there, the kitchen is rarely clean and there's absolutely no room for your stuff. The rooms are fine but the bunk beds are noisy with the metal frame cracking at every movement. Bathrooms are pretty good and clean most of the time. The location is also good, close enough to the CBD without being too crowded. The staff's changing all the time, Vey was very helpful and knowledgeable but the others didn't know what they were doing. This place being one of the most affordable in Perth, you get what you pay for.

This hostel is the perfect value for money. Rooms are clean, common areas are cleaned daily and the kitchen is very big. Vy is super helpful and nice, and has helped me a lot in the 2 months I’ve stayed at this hostel. I definitely recommend this hostel!

Convenient for central city goers, but mainly filled with medium termers, car park is limited to maybe 7 cars but you need to expect someone may block you in. Can get quite noisy at night time, the kitchen area seems to make sounds project upstairs but It what it is. Always clean..

It was okey. A lot of older people they just get drunk during the day.. the rooms are very small, no space for anything, we had to leave so many things in the car. It was okey clean, could be better.. Staff was friendly. The carpark is way to small for so many cars I was every morning scared not to get out there for work because a another car is blocking my way.

Shadiest worst hostel ever, and I’ve stayed in a few. Read the other one star reviews on here and they all say similar things. The owner, Dale, and his Vietnamese wife that he has as manager throw people out on the streets without mercy. Someone complained to their reception that half of their laundry went missing (stolen), and next day they were told to leave. They rope people staying there into doing cheap labour in exchange for free accommodation and/or 17$/hour after they’ve worked a set amount of hours. One of the untrained “receptionists” that they had barged into my girlfriend’s room while she was changing and told her off about not replacing toilet paper rolls in the bathroom. When we went to complain that we found this disrespectful, we were evicted the same weekend without any chance to work something out. My girlfriend had worked many hours cleaning their hostel and they also didn’t pay us over $300 owed to her when they evicted us.

Avoid this place!!! Rude manager, apparently passport only check in but nothing on the website to say this. Asked for email confirmation that its passports only but wont give it. Had a west australian drivers license. Refund minus fees on card. Absolute joke of an establishment. Just out to rip you off

Located centrally and provides easy access to everything around Perth City. Generally clean, tidy and well kept. Most things work as they should. Reception open throughout the day. Decent size kitchen and fridge/pantry space. TV room, board games, pool table. Safe and secure access to parking and main entrance. Fairly comfortable beds. Complimentary brekkie too. What this place lacks in character it makes up in functionality, service and value. PS. No proper recycling, all goes to landfill. It's a pity

Good for the price. Friendly staff, though they seemed to have trouble finding my booking. Room wasn't four ppl like advertised and the door didn't lock, but this didn't bother me and the place seemed safe. Most ppl seem to be using it as long term accommodation rather than a hostel, so it's harder to find ppl to chat with or hang out. Kitchen good. Didn't use the showers so can't comment.

My wife and I just stayed here one night for a stopover. It was very good, other residents were friendly, facilities appropriate and hygienic and everything was as described. In contrast to other spots, there was no noise so we slept well :) And finally, they were flexible with late check in.
