In my opinion is one of the best bbq pork wonton noodle you can get in perth. The pork is so succulent and tasty. Noodle is always springy and tasty too. Service always good. The only thing is you gotta get in early to avoid the queue! Take aways are also easy. One of my favorite place to eat!

Edited latest: been here many times over the years & just wanna say they still maintain the food standard in terms of the taste. Drawback is always the size of the store unable to "match up" with the flow of the customers. Another gem hidden in a not so busy "Shopping Centre". Though 1st time here (through recommendation), all the food we ordered were really nice & tasty. Free flow self service Chinese tea & plain water. Place is slightly on the narrow side & hence the dining table is not big. Can be a bit tough if you intend to order a few dishes & drinks. Service is quick & efficient. They accept Eftpos with no surcharge over $15.

Had the most authentic HK style Wanton Mee ever in Perth! Fatty char siew that melts in your mouth, bite sized dumplings that's smooth, and flavourful noodles that's just the right texture. Will definitely be back here again with the family!

This signature dish here is the cha siu wonton noodles, and I can tell you that this place is better than many restaurants in Malaysia. It is totally authentic down to the perfect texture of the noodles and the egg flavour. In fact the wontons might be the best I have ever tasted, even better than Malaysia. The cha siu is excellent as well with just the right amount of fat and char (see the photo). Tip: order the cha siu noodles and get a side dish of the premium wontons. You get more food. The standard cha siu wonton may not be enough if you are a big eater. Downside: the restaurant is tiny and everybody knows about this place so seating is very difficult. And you don't want to take away either because the noodles will go soggy which is normal for this type of noodle.

The staff was friendly and guided me smoothly from ordering to snagging a spot. I ordered Penang Asam Laksa but it didnโ€™t quite hit the spot for me. The price was budget friendly. It got pretty busy at lunchtime.

Delicious bbq pork noodles! 5 star when in good form ๐ŸŒŸ Can be inconsistent on the odd occasion and be a 4 star (Not as charred or tender) Portion size is also a tad smaller than some other popular bbq noodle places in town Overall, still worth a visit to satisfy your cravings!

This place has char siew and QQ noodles that top many eateries in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. The meat is tender and charred well. The noodles are cooked just that bit of springy al dente, we Asians call it "QQ". Highly recommended! Can get busy at lunch time, so come earlier to get a seat

The staff is very friendly and efficient. Place is small but clean. I drove a long way to try their wanton mee with bbq pork (char siew). I am not disappointed and very impressed. The noodle texture is perfect not too soft and still chewy, the wanton was very good and the bbq pork is very authentic (sweet, charred and the balance between fats and meat is right). Not many wanton mee can impress me in Perth so I am really satisfied. Tried their garlic roasted chicken rice and curry chee Chong fun, both were amazing. The only feedback for the curry chee Chong fun is to add more vegetables (bean sprouts would be ideal, or bak choy or choy sum is ok too), so as to make the dish less โ€œheavyโ€. There was only 3 long beans in it. Overall well done, I will definitely come as it is worth the drive and I would highly recommend Hong Kei.

First impression was the place is tiny. However, service was quick. I was there for a quick lunch. Tried their prawn noodle soup and Bbq pork noodle. Prawn noodle soup was delicious. I found their Bbq pork noodle was a tad too sweet. Overall its a quick and satisfrying lunch.

Tiny place but staff was above average in service and friendliness for such an establishment. Ordered famous bbq pork in 2 forms. The rice version has a good mix of fat and lean meat but still not quite melt in your mouth as reviewed by some. The noodle version was very lean and not easy to eat, especially when the slices are quite thick. Seasoning very dependent on the sauce and didn't quite get into the meat. It would have helped the experience greatly if they sliced the pork thinner. Wonton was great - thin skin with substantial meat content. I take 1 star for the pork and another star for the price of the rice version, which is a tad higher for what I felt was not a balanced offering in terms of sides.

I have to say this was one of the best wonton noodle I have ever had the pleasure of tasting. The pork was really juicy and tender. It's ran by a mum and dad team with occasional help from their school going kids. It's a hole in the wall concept so space are limited but the atmosphere authentic. Price for a regular is $12.90 or $14.90 if opt for the premium.

When I say this food is good, the food is good. This is literally one of the best restaurants in Perth. We got the char Siew with wonton noodles, hainanese chicken rice and curry laksa, all were splendid and tasty. The lady at the front greeted us with a smile and guided us down to narrow dining area. The whole shop has a hawker atmosphere, the kitchen is very close and you can hear the wok and the flame. Very good and definitely recommended '(

Hong Kei undoubtably served one of the best barbecue pork wonton noodle dishes in Perth. They are famous for this local favourite and will not disappoint. Another dish which we love is the Assam laksa with prawn paste sauce. However be mindful that the only con would be their limited seating and you canโ€™t make reservation during peak time. They were packed on Monday evening at 530pm, and the hectic staff tried hard to keep up with the rush and crowd between phone orders, queue and front counter.

Apparently this place is famous for its bbq pork. It is indeed a small but busy restaurant. It is in a sort of run-down condition. There was a long queue and customers were blocking the entrance. We ordered two bbq pork noodles and 2 chams. The bbq pork was delicious, sweet and juicy. It was a casual and quick lunch.

I recently had the pleasure of trying the BBQ pork at this establishment, and I must say, it was an absolute delight! The texture of the pork was incredibly tender, and each bite was a burst of flavor. The meat was so juicy and succulent that it practically melted in my mouth. It was evident that the chef had put a lot of care and expertise into preparing this dish. However, there is one aspect that left me a little disappointedโ€”the vegetable accompaniment. While the BBQ pork was undeniably fantastic, the serving of vegetables was inconsistent. On multiple occasions, I found myself receiving more stalks than leaves, which was a bit off-putting. It would have been more enjoyable if the vegetables were consistently served with a good balance of both leafy greens and tender stalks. This inconsistency took away from the overall dining experience. In addition to the BBQ pork, we also decided to try their Teh Tarik drinks. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend them. The flavor was not up to par, lacking the richness and depth that I had expected. It was a bit of a disappointment considering the excellence of the BBQ pork.

When you have a hankering for char siu or Chinese bbq pork this place should be on top of your list. They make one of Perths best tasting bbq pork and it is there signature dish. whether you put it on top of noodles or their Laksa or even on rice you need to order it. If you donโ€™t feel like bbq pork they make pretty good chicken rice, Chee cheong fun, and wantons. Small Asian stall vibe and yummy, authentic ๐Ÿ˜‹ food!!

Arrived at 12.45pm Thursday lunchtime and got a table - there were a couple free and others out the back opposite IGA - heard it could be packed but good today. By 1.45pm the place was empty - so perfect to be served immediately ๐Ÿ˜‰. Asked the friendly owner the difference between Wanton noodles with wanton BBQ pork and premium (only $1 extra) and she said it had larger wontons, so I ordered famous dry char siu, No.2 from the menu $14.90 with the home-made barley tea - hot $4.00. The home-made tea would be good too if you like it bitter $4.50. #hongkei
