Visited this lovely park Sunday evening with friends. A good number of food vans a.k.a. street food or South Perth Eats created a lively selection of food choices. I selected chicken tacos from Tango Tikka. Yum yum. There were a lot families enjoying the balmy evening. Plenty of room for larger groups and to kick a ball around. I didn’t photograph the food vans as there was too many people around and I try not to post people without permission, especially children. Highly recommended.

Lovely spot to park and walk, plenty of playgrounds along the south Perth side of the river. And so much bird life along the river and rivers edge.

A lovely park along the Swan foreshore. A few lakes full of wildlife, plenty of trees for shade, excellent cycling and walking tracks, fabulous views of the city and frequent events at the western end. What's not to like?!

Beautiful park overlooking the city skyline. Huge open space, ideal for picnics and games with the family. The only thing that lets it down are the usual cyclists speeding through there without a care about anyone else and the ignorant dog owners that don't keep their dogs on leads.

Sir James Mitchell Park is a sprawling green space along the southern foreshore of Perth Water, offering stunning views of the Swan River and the city skyline.

Beautiful park over looking the river to the city. Could do with some more shade in places & some heavy foot traffic areas could do with some extra grass. Magic views though.

Great place for family outings or picnics, with children having the playground for them to make use of their energy. Large expanse of greenery to play almost any simple game, just walk along the paths, having great time with your dog or just simply relax viewing Perth City skylines along with your friends and family having a great time there. The lakes on one side and the river on the other side provided a natural atmosphere to watch for the wildlife birds.

Such a beautiful place! For all ages and styles! There’s lots to do around there, my friend and I went to the Boatshed restaurant and then for a walk with the kids, they had so much fun observing the ducks in the river and birds all around the pathway! Can’t recommend this place enough! It is a must go when visiting Perth, or if you live in Perth!

Love to have walking session in this park (we walked here at night after dinner and evening i walked alone (feel safe) - with my music on and thoughts running around my head 😅). I see a lot people there walking / jogging / with kids / with dogs.

Great place for a picnic and watching the sunset. It is huge, no space problems. We rounded the lake by bike, after Elizabeth's bridge you have to cross the road to climb to another bridge, mind the cars.

Pleasant breeze. This park is in the south of the Swan River. You need to take the first exit after narrow bridge from the perth city. One can come directly from Elizabeth quay through the ferry ⛴️. The evening views are excellent with cool breeze on the Swan River.

Great park by the foreshore of South Perth. Great for cycling, exercise and leisure walks. Like all WA parks, free BBQ pits are provided with nearby toilet and washing areas. Have an awesome view of Perth City from across the harbour. A ferry service is available nearby to shuttle you between South Perth and City Harbour. Highly recommended!

Lovely park, day or night, I've been coming here since I was a kid, watching the fireworks and all the events down there. It's a prime location to view the fireworks display, when they're on! Great park and a good spot to take the little ones and burn some energy! Hah. Barbecue facilities are available, and outdoor seating near the river while having a meal is a great time! Would recommend! 😊

Great views of the Swan River and Perth skyline, and there were two black swans close to shore.

Stunning vies of the city wirh so many options to arrive here: from the driving by car to taking a ferry ride fro Elizabeth quay. Place has everything you need for a rest - playground, picnic areas, restaurants, running tracks. Loved it.

  • 5/5 Mel C. 2 years ago on Google
Stunning location overlooking the Swan River and Perth City foreshore. The Black swans are so use to people they'll happily perch next to your picnic spot. Willy Wagtails are typically cheeky and fun to watch and you can often spot fish jumping in the water, if the birds don't catch them first! There's catamarans for hire by the hour and loads of green space for running, cycling, romancing or electric scooting/skateboarding.

Sir James Mitchell Park is a beautiful park located on the South Perth foreshore, overlooking the Swan River and the Perth city skyline. It is a popular spot for locals and tourists alike, offering a variety of activities to enjoy, including walking, cycling, picnicking, and sightseeing. I recently had the opportunity to visit Sir James Mitchell Park during my trip to Perth, and I was thoroughly impressed. The park is well-maintained and clean, with plenty of space to relax and enjoy the outdoors. There are also a number of amenities available, including toilets, playgrounds, and barbecue facilities. One of the things I loved most about Sir James Mitchell Park was the stunning views. From the park, you can enjoy panoramic views of the Swan River, the Perth city skyline, and the Kings Park Botanical Gardens. It is a truly breathtaking sight, and it is easy to see why this park is so popular with tourists. Another great thing about Sir James Mitchell Park is the variety of activities it offers. If you are looking for a leisurely stroll, you can take a walk along the Swan River foreshore or through the park's many gardens. If you are looking for something more active, you can go for a bike ride on the cycle path that runs through the park. And if you are looking for a place to relax and have a picnic, there are plenty of grassy areas to choose from. I also appreciated the fact that Sir James Mitchell Park is home to a number of sculptures and art installations. This added to the overall enjoyment of my visit, and it made the park even more unique and interesting. Overall, I highly recommend Sir James Mitchell Park to anyone visiting Perth. It is a beautiful park with something to offer everyone. Whether you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy the scenery, or you are looking for something to do with the kids, you are sure to have a great time at Sir James Mitchell Park. Here are some additional tips for making the most of your visit to Sir James Mitchell Park: Arrive early in the morning or late in the afternoon to avoid the crowds. Wear comfortable shoes, as you will be doing a lot of walking. Bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses, especially if you are visiting during the summer months. Bring a picnic lunch or snacks, as there are plenty of places to sit and enjoy a meal. If you are visiting with children, be sure to keep an eye on them, as the park can be crowded and confusing for young children. I hope this review has been helpful. Best acai bowls in Perth are found here at the little travelling van 'The Acai Corner'. Love walking along the South Perth foreshore in general - such a vibe!

Great spot right in Swan River. Food vans are there from 5pm Thursday to Sunday 5pm to 8.30pm. Great variety of food to choose from..Vietnamese,Korean,Pizza,Indian, Canadian & more.. Large grassed area, plenty of shady trees . Plenty of parking tho payment for that is required ,credit card only...1st hour free.

Love this place, was actually the start of a sponsored walk ‘Walk to Remember’ in aid of Alzheimer sufferers but is popular for a few events. Generally a food truck ‘açai bowls’ is here along with an ice cream van. Has plenty of open grass area, bbq’s, shade and is on the waters edge so plenty of wildlife can be spotted. Has a playground for smaller kids as well and can be accessed by car (plenty of parking) or the cycle/running track. The cafe is along the waters edge and no more than 5 minutes walk which apparently does great food but I’ve not tried the food.

A safe, spacious with lots of parking, and accessible spot in south Perth. Launched the kayak recently here and it is a really good middle point if you're considering whether to head right to the causeway bridge or left to the swan brewery /UWA area. There isn't any access to water if you need to rinse your kayak but it does have a ramp for launch, and plenty of grass and seating around.

Excellent geographical location, staff member Kelly was amazing, the cabin was clean, needed some work in the bathroom. I would stay there again. Recommend the $185.00 per night(off peak) ocean view cabins which I didn't have. The pictures, taken as sunset, show the view over the ocean and what these cabins overlook. Book early.
