We were out for a new breakfast experience 😋 at a venue new to us. This Clancy's Fish Bar looked rather appealing which was short lived. While the venue itself was great, lots of patronage being on the beach front with plenty of seating both indoors and out the service seemed somewhat lacking. Asked for tea, as our choice of hot drinks with our breakfast. On receiving this, there seemed to be floating substance in the milk, 🥛upon enquiry about this were informed it was only coffee, this was quickly replaced but should not have happened period. The meal, while hot 🔥 and substantial, lacked appeal as in, presentation. Butter had to be requested for all servings, no serviettes available at the table. This was a topic for discussion amongst all 4 at breakfast which made the person, who chose the venue, feel rather inadequate for poor choice. Agreement to not return was clearly agreed to unanimously.

Came here for dinner by myself whilst on a trip to Perth. Was staying in como and took me about 20mins to drive here. Friendly service, and explained how to order. You order food with the wait staff, and order drinks on the iPad on the tables. Food and drinks came out very quickly. I ordered the snapper special, and whilst it was delicious, the sauce covering most of the dish was cold. That was the only let down. Nice cocktails too! And ladies, be sure to look at the signs in the toilets 💕 Thanks guys.

Ordered a seafood platter for $95, enough for 2 people. Really fresh seafood, very delicious and had a table with sunset view. Staff were super easygoing too! Would definitely come back again!

Great atmosphere next to the ocean. If you are there at the sunset time, it's very pretty. I ordered fresh local fish & chips. It was fresh and tasty. The wait time can be long, especially on the weekend.

Awesome place , right on the heart of city beach. Nice place for chill at the bar and they served really good food. I had two beers with my friend , relax, chill and cozy atmosphere. Then I had a battered local snapper for lunch. Was really great. The staffs are very friendly. Great location, great food, great beers !! Five stars !!

This is one of the worsts experiences I’ve had at any restaurant. Not only are the prices higher than the Empire State Building, I had to wait a whole century to get my food. I watched whole families sit down, order, receive their food, and leave before I even received a morsel of food (keep in mind I was on a table of 2 with my girlfriend). We had to ask the waiter 3 times where our food was and finally after 40 minutes, the food came. We expected some sort of apology but there was none. There was no ‘sorry for the wait’ or even any acknowledgement of how late the food came. We would have appreciated any sort of acknowledgement even if they didn’t mean it (Customer Service/10????). When we finally got our food, I thought I had accidentally ordered from the kids menu. The portion sizing of the fish and chips wasn’t even big enough to feed my 6 month old nephew and I paid $26 for it. Overall bad experience. Do not want to get scammed again.

Grilled fish and salads were good. Too hot for summer lunches. Waitresses too keen to take plates/cups away from table, would be great if they're taken away after customer leaves the table or requests them to be taken away.

5 stars for the ocean view. Ordered beer batter snapper and chilli lime squids today. Tasted okay, not the best but were good. Love their sesame slaw on the side and lemon lime bitter with soda was great.

Not a bad place for some fish and chips, but fairly over priced compared to competitors, and not the freshest option available. Beer options in the casual area are very slim. Some average table service by what seems like inexperienced or non-confident staff.

We went to The Standard on a Saturday afternoon for lunch in the courtyard. First up we ordered some cocktails which were divine. Definitely worth getting one if you are here as they were very nice - both tasty and beautifully presented. We ordered the Lazy Susan share plate which was definitely enough food for four people! We even had a little left over. But if you are big eaters I think it could be tackled by three people. The share plate was delicious and everything cooked to perfection. A great try if you are looking for something different as the food & flavours were quite unique. The only let down was the service at the start, we were kept waiting a while for our table by the hostess as she sorted out another customer's billing issues. I understand these things happen but there were other staff walking around who we asked where we could sit down - they told us to keep waiting. Althought not their responsibility it would have been nice if they had taken iniative to look at the booking sheet to let us know where to go and sit. Instead we were left standing akwardly at the counter. However after this our assigned waitress was attentive and friendly.

Love this place for many reasons; personal and otherwise. Always good food; though sometimes pricey. Nice ambience. Staff are top par; and very professional and genuinely friendly. Beautiful views of the beach and ocean and of those that play upon. Good parking, too. Always a pleasure coming back and trying something different and/or my usual, which I have a few.

Very good service. Have ordered the snapper and chips, chilli mussels is very nice than expected. Plus a glass of wine and a chai latte for total $90. Not cheap but we are happy with the experience.

Beautiful view and atmosphere. The food was delicious and the service was attentive and friendly. Ordering through the smart tablets at the table worked well. We went for a birthday and they were more than happy for us to bring a cake along and there was no cakage fee.

Before I begin, you must know I was not the biggest fan of some of the Clancy's chain. There was such a casual attitude and lack of attention to detail, just a themed bar and pub food. So to say that Clancy's City Beach has ditched that reputation is an understatement. High touch, high tech ordering had our drinks and meal delivered to us faster than you could say McDonalds Now...... the food was simple, but amazing..... I mean Fish tacos and Chilli mussels..... how simple is that. Simply...... delicious.... and as an authentic Chill mussel as I have ever had. It has taken me a few hours to compile this review..... because I will still stuffed, hours later. The staff were on the ball and attentive, you are paying a little extra, but then again, no more extra than any venue with stunning sunset views right on the beach.

Clancy's is a great place for seafood that's great value and well prepared. Situated right on the beach with amazing views and easy parking. Lots of space for big gatherings if needed and a great atmosphere. Good beers on tap. Never disappointed here, did I mention great service too... Yes I really like Clancy's.

I had a lovely farewell lunch there with some girl friends, what a great spot it is. Right by the ocean, beautiful city beach can have crashy waves, but that day was perfect for swimming. I love this place, when I am back I will go again. There is plenty of parking and the foreshore was full of families and singles enjoying the best of Perth summer. The food was great, they cater for everyone. Prices were very reasonable and serving of food were generous. Service was excellent too, but best of all was the atmosphere; people come here to enjoy themselves. I cannot speak highly enough of the place. Locals and tourists from all walks of life are welcomed here, and nothing is too much trouble. Staff were happy to oblige with every request. There was no pressure to leave, the place was packed. This is an instance of excellent management, they do not take advantage of the spectacular location by serving shoddy food with horrible service like some other beachside eateries such as 'Coast' on Port Beach. Clancy's at City Beach is a star-player.

Always a great place to come and watch the amazing sunsets. Nothing beats it. Great seafood and what a wonderful way to end the day. The menus are different between the different locations around Perth, so you can always ensure to get some variety with the menus. This one along the beach with views overlooking the Indian Ocean are stunning. Well worth the drive or if you’re passing by.

I went to Clancy's Fish Bar with my family to grab some food while down at the beach. The food here was fantastic and well worth the spend. There weren't large queues, and I could walk in, order and be out of there with my food within 5-10 minutes. Well worth heading there if you're after a great feast.

Great service. I left behind an item and the waiter found me half way into the parking lot. A bit disappointed in the fish tacos. Served on unfortunate flour tortillas (always should be corn), too much salsa to fish ratio, and not enough sauce.

Terrible customer service. We were told to ring for staff via the iPad provided. So we rang it 4 times and still noone came. So we had to wave one of the girls down after waiting a while. The young girls were just standing around the pay counter talking amongst themselves. And when we got up to pay. Noone even greeted up or asked us how the food was and they just told us the amount. You would be better off sitting and eating at the cafe outside. Their customers service might be better then the actual restaurant.

Valentines Day dinner! Great table service, staff are very friendly and attentive. I had the fish of the day (some sort of snapper) in a strange mango soup. My companion had the BBQ chicken. Her portion was so much bigger than my soup... For desert, portions reversed and I had the more generously sized popcorn mousse. Food was good, portions need to be a little more even... Plenty more on the menu I would like to try. Atmosphere is lovely. Book a table and eat on the roof top 😍

I love going to The Standard. Great place for a few cheeky bevvies or a lovely meal (date night anyone?). The Asian inspired menu is TASTY and the upper rooftop deck views are bliss at sunset. Check out their hawker Wednesday and lazy Susan specials and thank me later.

  • 5/5 lisa k. 3 years ago on Google
We found this place by accident. Sweet little garden out the back and you can sit indoors, in the garden, or on the rooftop. Staff come to you for drink orders so you save your legs. I loved the inner city vibe of being above the action and catching the breeze. The food menu looked interesting too - asian style share plates.

Giving 3 stars for a difference of opinion. This is a yuppy bar so the people giving it 5 are from this demographic. Despite this, the beer selection was poor (only 4 tap beers, two of which were raspberry and mango flavor.) Food was great quality and reasonable price. However, most of the tables are booked and not all food was available due to being "reserved".

  • 5/5 Clayton P. 3 years ago on Google
Couldn't rate this place more highly! AMAZING food, beautiful venue and all at an affordable price. The food was, honestly, top draw. One of the best meals I've had in a long time. It was intricately pieced together, and packed full of rich flavour. Will definitely go again!

    Outside beer garden is great

  • 2/5 Mark S. 3 years ago on Google
I found it ok but nothing worth shouting about. The beer choice was tending towards craft beers which I fine if you like beer to taste of something other than beer. Personally I like my beer to be Faithfull to what it is. The food was ok but again not worth shouting about for the price it was. We had a waitress that I think hadn't been fully trained on what was available both in terms of drinks and food which is fine as we all have to learn but I would have thought she would have been shadowed by a more experienced member of staff rather than just being left to get on with it.

  • 5/5 Tessa H. 3 years ago on Google
Always feel relaxed when visiting the standard. Staff are great at offering suggestions when you are unsure of what to eat.

  • 2/5 James M. 3 years ago on Google
Not great service, make sure if you want the lazy Susan on Saturday/Sunday, you book the food in advance... we asked for three however was told we could only have two as the others had been reserved which was a shame given the fact we had booked table and wasn’t asked to book for this in advance. The food itself wasn’t great either, not worth the money.

  • 5/5 Elisa D. 3 years ago on Google
Well isn't this a bit of a hidden gem (for me it was anyway). Definitely worth investigating! Had the pork share lazy susan thing and it was a wonder!

    Just Delicious....

  • 2/5 Georgia 3 years ago on Google
Food was awesome but the dining experience was terrible. The lighting was so dark that we needed phone torches to read the menu and the music was so loud that everyone in the room was shouting to be heard, which means no one could hear a damn thing. It was obvious that even the wait staff were struggling to cope with the noise. If you plan on having an actual conversation, go elsewhere.

We had booked for a birthday. We were seated outside which was great. We chose outside thinking it would be a bit quieter. The background music wasnt exactly that. We asked if it could be turned down a bit which they did. The food and drinks arrived not long after ordering and we werent disappointed. We had shared plates which gave everyone a chance to sample what was on offer. Our friends hadnt been before and they were impressed. They said they would come back in the future. There should be a description of ALL beers on tap not just put 2 names on the beverage list when there are more to be had.

What can I say about Clancy's ? Difficult to know where to start... I guess first of all I better talk about the place itself. It's located bang on the beach with views of the ocean, Rottnest, and epic sunsets. Most tables get a decent view. There are also more cosy seatings around a few log fires that take the chill off in winter. The ordering system is really great with a little electronic pad for ordering drinks as and when you need. There's a great selection of drinks and beers. Staff are attentive, friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They will take your food order when you are ready. The menu itself is varied, with daily specials etc. And all food is of a high standard, tasty and decent portion sizes. Really, very hard to find any negatives... My father has been visiting this beach since he was 5 years old... He's 77 now and Clancy's is his go to watering hole.

Clancy has a great location here with lovely beach views. There's a nice playground outside the beach bar for kids to be entertained, and the staff were pretty kid friendly. Overall the service was good and fast Ordering at the table via a tablet. The decorations and eclectic decor make this a fun quirky setting, but the fabulous views are truly the star of the show. The good is good, and decent selection. I would definitely come back. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Friendly service, generous and delicious breakfast menu. Kid and dog friendly. Reasonably priced. Staff efficient and pleasant despite how busy it was. We recommend the loaded bagel and the scrambled eggs and bacon (and the fish and chips from an earlier visit). We’ll be visiting again soon.

People would line up around the door to get in to Clancys just because of the million dollar beach views. The good news is they don’t rely on their location to fill seats and instead deliver beautiful meals as well. It’s beach casual with a great vibe. Get there an hour before sunset if you want a table with a view. Breakfast recommendations: Corn Fritters with smashed avocado, Eggs Benedict, milkshakes. Dinner: Margarita, Fish Tacos, Fish and Chips.

Make sure to take your favorite people here it is such a good spot. Excellent food and service, catering for families, singles, tourists, home-towners and everything in between. We've been to the Clancy's at Applecross, Freo and down south at Dunsborough. Clearly we're fans. But this one at City Beach stood out! 🏖️ The food was great across all of them, the service here was excellent, enthusiastic and attentive, but what stood out was the restaurant ambient/deco, the view of the ocean and the beautiful west Aussie sunset! 🌅 You can't beat this one. The chilli mussels seem to be a larger portion and very saucy which we love. 🤩 We really enjoyed it and will come back for more. Love it! ❤️ The menu is slightly different between branches so you get to try new dishes.
