Booked a room for tonight and got to the hostel for check in. Received a confirmation email this morning, and was told when trying to check in that the booking doesn’t exist. Was told there were no rooms available and that we had to leave. Heard the receptionist on the phone with the manager saying that someone had called up and booked our room for 2 weeks, whereas we were only staying for one night, so they chose to give the room to them. Paid for booking in advance a month ago.

Very bad attention. Very dirty and with old and broken mattresses. Any other hostel is better

I don’t recommend this place at all. The internet doesn’t work, “free breakfast” is a lie, showers are broken and nobody cares. The whole hostel looks dirty and the rooms smell disgusting. I am attaching some photos 😉

One of the best hostels I’ve stayed at in Australia. Such lovely people and social, yet you can also keep yourself to yourself when you fancy. Super clean, lovely hot showers and the most gorgeous, lovely hostel manager - Amy; she is so hospitable and kind. The rooms are big and spacious. Reasonable pricing. Big private outdoor area. Just such a nice hostel in general. Wasn’t expecting much but wow what a lovely place! Thank you Quokka’s- I shall be back 😊

The receptionist was very mean. She throw away 100$ of our food in the fridge because she didn’t pay attention to the name written on the bag. No camera at this tome so no one was cleaning the dishes. Bathrooms are dirty. We got a private room : terrible mattress, no windows, « double » bed, poor quality of service compares to others hostels. Location is great, that’s the only good point.

Not worth the value for money. It is a literal "backpacker" hostel. There are young people from different countries, they make noise and do not let you sleep, the hostel says that you can't make noise and party but these guests do Not care and do not respect others. The cleanliness of the bathrooms is not very good. The private room was clean but there is no access to a window, it literally looks like a celll. What I can highlight is the kindness of the guy at the reception and the good location of the hostel.

I stayed in a private double room for one night. It was small and simple but did the job for the price. The staff super helpful and friendly. The only thing is the room had one of those ceiling windows where natural light comes in as soon as sun rises. If you’re an early bird is not a big deal. If you can’t sleep with bright natural light bring sleeping mask.

Very nice place, much better than a normal hostel. Good sized kitchen with all appliances to use. The beds are quite comfortable. A wonderful amount of people to be there. I would recommend...

One of the greatest hostels I've stayed at in Australia is the Quokka Backpackers Hostel in Perth. So kind and social, yet you may choose to be alone when you want. Very clean, great hot shower, and the prettiest hostel ever. Thank you, Quokkas! I'll return!

There is a guy with long, curly hair in the reception is nice and kind! And the room and kitchen is clean, someone clean all the space twice a day. I stayed one night originally, then I stayed three finally👍🏻

Mould in the bathrooms, no toilet papaer, my things were stolen and destroyed. People were openly smoking weed out the back. I was was put in a room with three other men, who weren't exactly Gentlemen. When I told staff I felt unsafe, the basically turned a blind eye. If youbwant cheap and nasty, stay here but sleep with one eye open.

Basic room, but clean, comfortable, well ventilated, and quiet at night. I liked that the room I stayed in had a skylight and vents to let air and natural light in despite the lack of windows. I would have appreciated being shown around a bit more on check in as I only realised on my last day that there was an outdoor area available, when a different staff member was showing another guest around. The location is amazingly convenient as it's near a nice park, multiple great restaurants, as well as short walking distance from a well serviced train station, Perth Cultural centre, and the CBD. I wouldn't rate the 'free breakfast' that much as it's just tea, coffee, oats, and cornflakes, but the kitchen amenities are pretty good so I was happy to keep ingredients there and cook my own breakfasts. Overall I would happily stay here again next time I visit Perth

Staff is amazing and so helpful. The room are clean and tidy and the facilities are perfect. The outside garden is much appreciated when sunny. The hostel is close to everything. I had a lovely time staying there !

Clean hostel and quiet hostel maybe too quiet there is no ambiance at all feel very boring after a few days especially. WIFI is not working and staff seem to not care about it and the breakfast included should not be mentioned at all because it is not one. One or two socket per room also is far from enough when there is up to 10 beds. There is better options in Perth.

Poor breakfast, but ok for the value. Confusing reception, not so well placed in the city, they put 50% water in all washing liquids and hand soaps. There are better places to stay at a low cost as well.

Staff were making me feel disrespected and out of place. Speaking mandarin around me with smug looks, I felt like an outsider in my own country. Very poor hygiene, ppl blowing their noses in the sinks and basins, not covering their mouthes coughing and sneezing. A very noisy place to stay as well. Never again.

Very clean place, staff are very friendly. I can't believe that the place is so new when I first time came here. And the price is very affordable. And it is very close to the city and easy access to the bars and restaurants. Awesome location.

Flat out giving one star. The showers dont work. The manager is super un friendl. Ignores you if you have a question. Each room has no windows or air circulation, The rooms are dusty! Homeless drug addicts everywhere. Avoid this place like the plagu. The place needs to be reported!

You simply cannot advertise “free breakfast” when all you provide is a jar of cereals which must have been sitting there for years. No milk, no bread, a tiny little bit of jam. There’s only paid parking as well. Some people are not taking a shower and the room smells like sh!¥.
