Have been here a couple times and have tried the savoury crepe and strawberry and cream french toast. Both meals were nice and filling. It gets busy but there’s plenty of seating and the service is quick. The menu has a decent range but is unnecessarily big (in size) and you have to order at the counter but overall a nice cafe in a great location with a view.

I normally go to another Cafe when I'm in this area, however it was very busy this time, so for the first time I gave Toast Cafe a try. I was pleasantly surprised. I've always thought when walking past that it doesn't like very inviting from the front and something about it that used to make me think twice about going here. But this time I did go and I'm glad I did. Staff were friendly, service was prompt, and the coffee I had was excellent. That much that I had 2 coffees in the end and a piece of carrot Cake. The carrot Cake was a little stale but I asked them if they could just zap it for 10 secs to soften it. I would certainly be going there again to try some other menu items. Great work guys.

It was going good until I found a giant hair in my Filipino Rice. They've been in business long enough to know about hair nets by now. I could see the cook was not wearing one. I couldn't be bothered complaining - I just won't go back.

Every time I have come here, (usually Saturday or Sunday mornings) they are hopping. Fantastic coffee brunch for me and my beau. He enjoyed the savoury Spanish Scrambled Eggs, and I ordered Fritter Me Timbers. SSE was complete with light spices, chorizo and fantastic fluffy eggs. FMT, oh my! The layers off sweetness off set by the grilled halomi made those poached eggs into the best dipping sauce. I was over the moon. And as always - the Almond Milk Lattes were great too!

Nice spot right on the river Tried the Turkish eggs which was delicious, a pretty good size and good value for $21 and a cappuccino My buddy got the chicken rosti, it looked delicious and be liked it , pretty expensive for $24 I think but still nice. Worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood.

Absolutely amazing breakfast here with my daughter on a mid week visit. There’s a lovely view across the water and seating both inside and out. Great breakfast menu from which we both had the poached eggs on sourdough toast and I had the smoked salmon.

I got the beets me sourdough and I can assure you you would not regret it! Extremely refreshing and just enough for a satiating and satisfying breakfast! Didn’t have a strong beetroot smell and the ingredients were super fresh. Pulled pork Benedict was not bad but too heavy for breakfast IMO. Might be better for brunch/lunch. Overall damage was A$55.7 — would return just to have the Beets Me Sourdough again or try other items. And there is also a nice view when the sun hits :) Coffee was quite average though — too much milk in the flat white.

Stopped by for breakfast. Great location and ambience. Wide range on the menu but settled for eggs and toast with bacon. Wasn’t disappointed!

It's a nice little cafe by the river. The food is decent and they have a good variety. The service, however is bad. We went for brunch on a Sunday so I got the fact that it was really crowded. But they forgot to put in some of our orders and we had to wait an abnormally long amount of time for our food. The AC was not working in peak summer, so it was extremely uncomfortable to be seated indoors. Go on a weekday and save your hungover-self a lot of headache 😅

The location is great. Parking (Wilson Parking) is convenient (opposite the café) but may be bit pricey but it depends how long you wish to park. The food was well presented and the service was quick. Enjoyed the Winter’s avocado :)

Bustling vibrant cafe, good food and great, friendly service. Efficient ordering and drinks out super quick despite being super busy food followed shortly after even when warned about a wait. Manager/owner so friendly and all smiles which was so refreshing. Food tasty and great range on the menu. Great spot can't wait to go back.

I dined here for breakfast I ordered the Egg and Bacon bagle whilst my significant other ordered the smashed avo. Both meals were exceptional and I was very impressed on the wait time as the restaurant was very busy with maybe 2 tables spare. The price was pretty fair at around $55 all up for two meals and two drinks. Have recommended to all my friends that they should try it at least once.

Love this place & have been there many times! The food is always great & the location down by the water’s edge is absolutely stunning. You just can’t beat it for breakfast on a beautiful day!

Nice little Cafe on the Claisebrook cove overlooking the water. The food was 50/50 for me. My rosti was disappointing but hubbys nasi goreng was delicious with massive amounts of fresh seafood. The coffee was great but grapefruit juice was not fantastic. Its a cute place with a nice vibe but I'm not rushing to go back any time soon

Busy little cafe, staff was very attentive and the food was great. Our food took a little long to arrive, and the manager came to apologize and he make sure we had a great experience. Will definitely come back. 😁

Fantastic location for a meal. Nice view with a good atmosphere. Food was very nice. Staff very professional, quick and efficient. Only complaint I have personally was the large hot chocolate I ordered, it was just a cup of hot milk with a hint of chocolate.

Busy lovely lil'cafe. We had made reservations in advance so did not have trouble getting a table but place was near max occupancy. Had to queue to place our order and then had a bit of a wait (30 to 45 minutes) for food to arrive. Lots of time to chill out, read and chat 😀. Food when it arrived was delicious and lovely!

Beautiful location for Sunday brunch. They have amazing food, and as there is ample of it, if you can't finish you can ask to takeaway.

  • 1/5 Kelly B. 2 years ago on Google
While the food was good, we couldn’t get past the cleanliness or lack there of. It was busy but there were plenty of staff, I had to ask someone to wipe our table down and remove dirty napkins and cutlery. The water glasses were disgusting, I went back for 2 more but they were all the same - grubby and not clean. Our juices also came in dirty glasses, I watched the team member making juices and the glasses were wiped with the same cloth that was used to wipe the bench. Sorry but you want to feel like you are eating and drinking in a hygienic environment. Won’t be back.

The food and the place was great. The owner made sure we were well taken care of and took our feedback seriously. We ordered the farmers breakfast, cheesey scrambled eggs and smoked salmon on a potato cake. Some of the food came either bland or too salty. I think it’s a one off mistake, neither of which took away from the overall experience which was amazing, as they took great care of us and the food actually tasted really good. 10/10 will recommend to anyone.

Brilliant service, the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Very welcoming. Food was cooked amazing and big servings too. The hot chocolate was the best I've had in a long time. The caramel latte was actually made correctly, wasn't burnt and best here in Western Australia that we have had so far.

Had lunch there today, very busy which is understandable for a Sunday. Beautiful river view. My mushroom dish only had 1 piece of mushroom and a piece of bread and some rockets on tje sides. Flavour was OK but feel like portion size is a bit small for the price. My partner liked his pesto Gnocchi thought again a bit small. Overall not bad.

We called to book brekkie last minute on the weekend for 12 of us. The staff were so accommodating!! We were sat at a big table but after arriving the sun moved and was in our eyes, so the staff graciously made room for us at a big table in the shade! It was perfect. We all ordered and the the food came out pretty quickly, we all enjoyed and had such a good time. Amazing views too!

Enjoyed an ice coffee, smoothie the best carrot cake and a tasty fresh chicken toasted club sandwich. An hours walk around the beautiful scenery and a perfect spot for a take away to sit in the park and enjoy the quiet relaxing atmosphere.

The location is beautiful. We had a table outside and it was very pleasant. A few things I wasn’t so happy about are 1) the tea and my latte were lukewarm, almost undrinkable. 2) not enough vegan options, which sadly is normal of 99% of Perth cafes. 3) it’s pricey for what you get. For our party of 2, our bill was $77 for 2 drinks, 2 dishes, a bagel and extra toast. One of our group ordered the ‘big breakfast’ vegetarian option with a slice of toast and it was very underwhelming with less than a teaspoon of spinach (we measured it). The 1 slice of toast was an additional $3.50. I’d recommend Toast for coffee (hopefully hot) but if you’re vegetarian/vegan, porridge is your safest option for money value and portion size.

Today My friend and I have a breakfast here, the coffee was absolutely delicious. The cutlery and plates were clean, the food was delicious. The staff were friendly with nice smile. The view is absolutely beautiful. If you don’t mind the crowds, this place is absolutely amazing for breakfast in weekends.

Very friendly service even they were full house and under the pressure! Love their coffee but I am quite disappointed on the foods. Pumpkin was burnt and spinach was very salty.

Super disappointing. Called in with my niece while on a nice walk around the cove for a quick takeaway of their homemade apple soda and a honey ice tea. Both fav's of mine. Served by a friendly young fella who was obviously learning the till and order system. Thats ok, we all gotta start somewhere. But it did take about 6 minutes, and had to repeat the order 3 times. Then left waiting for 10 minutes while staff walked around seemingly not doing anything until my niece and I noticed a huge cockroach crawling over the counter. I have to say, the place is looking tatty, and all the corners and nooks where dust and grime has collected. Asked about the status of my order, and three different staff members each said the other was doing it. It was NOT at all busy in the cafe. A full twenty minutes of waiting and I asked a bit more firmly, and the manager started the order, but then left the premises without explanation. I found out later she had gone to get ice. The staff still there seemed surprised that I was a bit annoyed. We ended up asking for our money back after 25 minutes had passed, and left with a refund, but the fact I had to ask so many questions rather than the manager simply saying to me that she had to get ice, or tell her staff what was up, was so unneccesary. It's the latest in a series of poor experiences at this place and its so disappointing as it used to be so good. What's more, the unfinished order of our cold drinks without ice were not even correct anyhow. They had begun to make a strawberry soda instead of an apple soda. I live local and want to patronise local businesses, but Toast, the nearby Partisan, and Kinky Lizard are all the same when it comes to less than impressive service, staff who are clearly only working "coz its a job", passionless, unable to communicate with each other, much less the customer, particularly when all these places are charging way more than what's deserved. Get your act together Toast.

AMAZING!!! Great coffee, great staff, great location. If you are lucky, you may even spot some dolphins. The chilli mushroom is amazing, I always get that. The coffee is good too. I go there often, and just once was the chilli mushroom a little bland then usual. Not a major problem in my books though, still give it a 5star.

Really disappointed as we've been here before and it has always been great. Wasn't too busy, the barista was very rude to staff and seemed to ignore everyone, she even made fun of a customers name openly with other staff who looked uncomfortable with the joke. I ordered a vegan breakfast which came with cow's milk, my husband went and asked for soy or almond, the barista wasn't impressed and made me wait at least 5 maybe even closer to 10 minutes for the correct milk. We definitely won't be returning, customer service should be a main focus. All other staff were lovely

The food was a 6/10, the lady with tattoos who was serving was quite rude, no smiles or manners at all. Would constantly say things like “oh so I’ve got to do everything myself do I” and was swearing whilst customers were in hearing distance. We sat inside and she began to put the chairs up and sweep whilst we were mid way through our meal. It seemed extremely unprofessional on her behalf. The other workers seemed nice however. Inside where they were preparing food seemed quite dirty also with dripping food on surfaces etc. A bit of a disappointment over all given the price too. Won’t be returning.

You can tell from the huge number of people and river views that this place does an amazing trade. The food is great, lots of smoothies to choose from and a chance to sit in the sun (or shade)

I ordered cheesy baghel breakfast, with banana mango smoothie. My friend ordered a bacon breakfast which had sourdough Bread, which was very very very hard. Nonetheless, I liked the view and the terrific smoothie... Customer service could have been more better. So four starts for now...

Friendly service, lovely setting to relax and take in the view near the water. Pricing is middle tier but tasty and we'll presented. If you are looking for a place to chill out and unplug then I would highly recommend.
