The local ‘not so secret’ Pay As U Wish cafe in CBD on a Friday serving up Malaysian buffet has been a favourite for a long time. Unsurprisingly, the place can get filled up very quickly so a good tip to start early. Ikhwan Cafe serves up delicious Malaysian & Indonesia fare, and the special spaghetti bolognese last Friday was the first I have seen. The buffet comes complete with drinks and desserts too, so it is highly recommended to try it at least once on a Friday, and to pay as your heart & tummy dictates. My colleagues and I have paid between $10-20 per person, and it’s truly to each their own. May they continue with this offering to satisfy our craving.

Lunch at Ikhwan Cafe for their famous 'eat all you can and pay as you wish'. I was really impressed by the quality and quantity of food they provided. Beef rendang and sambal egg plant were my favourite. They even have roti made and cooked freshly right in front of you. All the dishes were tasty and flavoursome.

Went here on Sunday when 'pay as u wish' promotion is in effect. Yes, u can pay a dollar if u want to. Buffet nasi tomato with chicken kurma. Decent food. Though that promotion was more for charity than business as usual. It's to serve Muslim community in the area. It's a halal certified restaurant.

I've tried their Friday buffet a couple of times. Priced according to what your heart or budget allows which is a nice concept. Quality of food varies probably due to it being cooked by volunteers. Sometimes tasty, sometimes not so much. I always enjoy the chicken curry and sambal chicken when it's on. Nice fresh salad and rotis cooked to order. Worth a try. Opening hours do not always correspond with those stated on the door and google !

I tried the Ikhwan cafe stall at Canning Vale market today. I am a Malaysian but I never have such a bad taste Malaysian food. My advice, don't try unless you want to torture your tongue and stomach.

I've gone twice on a Friday for the pay as you feel buffet. The food is really tasty but it is a very flustering experience as space is limited so you are crammed up with a bunch of people. I'd recommend going at lunch on Fridays as at night there tends to be much less available.

Pay What You Want Friday AND tasty food? What's not to love!! Great authentic recipes for the dishes and close to perfect Malaysian flavours. Would definitely be back to try out the normal menu.

Good place for lunch. I always comeback to enjoy their famous beef rendang. You can mixed whatever you want on your plate! Cost only $10 for 3 dishes in 1 plate. So it won't hurt your pocket.

We always like to support your Friday buffet however we turned up at 11.40am and you were not open. Paid for limited time parking so we had to go somewhere else to eat. Maybe change your opening hours to be more accurate?

We came here twice because the food was really good and SPICY. It was the kind of pedas-ness that we like. The cafe was under semi renovation when we came. If we order food off the menu, the waiting time is much longer as compared to buying from the ready to serve options (nasi padang). But still, overall i recommend the place because we wiped our plates clean! What we ordered: nasi goreng pattaya, nasi goreng kampung (twice), nasi goreng paprik. Loved them all ❤️ thank you for the hospitality

    1) Mee goreng- absolute failure. Extremely salty. I couldn’t eat beyond two fork full 2) Teh tarik- sweet but on point 3) Staff’s response to feedback on Mee goreng - 1/5. No response or action taken by staff

I've literally never left a bad review but this chicken curry portion size is actually embarrassing, seriously hope there was a mix up in the kitchen or something.

A beautiful restaurant hidden in the Pier St. The food they serve has home made taste. And prices are reasonable too. Staff is friendly. On Friday the food is unlimited and you can pay as you wish for the food. This is one of my lunch options. Thank you for your service.

Seriously, just rice nothing to have with rice! Cakap pay as a wish! Tapi kat counter suruh Bayar 10.00 dollars! If satisfied with the food, don't mind!!! On the burn marry everything is empty and not refilled! The owners bring food from the kitchen and have it!😡😡

Absolutely unhygienic, I would be seriously looking into their kitchen and cleaning processes or perhaps suggest they create some. A trail of ants and 3 flies spotted in the 20mins spent waiting for my takeaway order for one. Never again!
