First time here and was pleasantly surprised. From the front it is very deceiving and you think its going to be small inside but totally opposite. Huge inside and goes right back to an open air outdoor alfresco dining. Menu is reasonably small with not much under $20 food wise but substantial serves. Staff friendly, polite and helpful Toilets clean Have all types of milk.

Group of 6. Great food, friendly young staff and we thought the meal size was very generous. The best crunch chicken on mine.

Brunch - Group of 4 Food could be improved. A little bit understaffed for a Sunday. Food and drinks were coming out one by one. Very family friendly. There's a sandpit area for the kids to play and a very spacious seating area inside and outside.

Interesting coffee food location down Beaufort st, towards the city. Coffee was good and strong and the chocolate muffin was warm and scrumptious. The decor, like the establishment, is very eclectic, but makes for good table talk. There is place for the kids to play out the back. Parking in the area was very easy this Saturday morning.

I love the decor and architecture of this cafe. It has deep woods and heavy chairs which give it an urban but friendly feeling. The atmosphere is pumping with a mix of young groups and families outside near the play area. The food is delicious! It's a bit pricey but there are lots of fresh ingredients and good flavour combos on the menu. I would recommend the nourish bowl but you could probably share it with a friend if you're not that hungry. The coffee was very average. The beans I believe are Toby Estate so they were rich and strong but all of us agreed that the milk wasn't hot enough so it was a let down. I would return for food but not for coffee.

Very friendly service. Nice kids play area for the little ones. Food is top notch. Really flavourful, beautifully presented and tastes great for a very reasonable price!

If you're looking for something different with your morning cuppa, Blacksmith is the place to go. Unbelievable, yummy chili scrambled eggs. I'll definitely be back to try something else.

Waited nearly 20 minutes to order my food and drinks. Assuming they were short staffed which is not the end of the world. Then back at my table realised the burger I ordered doesn’t come with chips. I asked the waitress if she could put an order through for chips without having to line up for another 20 minutes. She refused saying it wouldn’t be fair to other customers which I disagree with. I had already spent my time in the line and acknowledge that I made a mistake but surely the solution here was fairly simple especially given I had cash for her to complete the payment without me having to walk to the front of the line and disgruntle anyone else waiting to order. The hair in my food certainly didn’t make the experience any better either. Overall the food was mediocre but it was the waitress’s attitude that left a bad taste in my mouth.

I visited here, for breakfast, with my family, including two small children under 4 years old. Inside was pleasant, calm, and air-conditioned. Outside was ideal for children and parents. The children enjoyed playing in the sandpit and were safely enclosed. Parents can supervise but are also able to eat while the children are happily occupied. The food was good. I'd definitely recommend a visit.

We have been here many times for breakfast, brunch and coffee stop. Nice food and service. This place is kids friendly providing Indoor and outdoor sitting area and spacious nappy change table in the toilet. The outdoor space has a small sandpit and playroom with roof cover so the kids still can enjoy the space on a raining day.

One of my favourite cafe's in the Highgate/Mt Lawley area. The food and coffee's are amazing. The staff are really nice and the atmosphere is great. Their seasonal menu's really makes things exciting, gives you a reason to come back to try new dishes.

We arrived very early on Sunday, they had just opened, and it was the best experience! Our food was perfect, the chocolate&hazelnut croissant is one of the best we had so far... Worth the try! They also have amazing muffins (especially the chocolate one, in my view). Going early means you can avoid the children, if you're concerned about that. We also sat in the front, and it was lovely in a sunny morning!

One of the easiest 5-stars I've ever given. A great atmosphere with an original and delightfully delicious menu. With a 5 minute walk from Hyde Park this is a great brunch date, we'll definitely be coming back! (It should be noted that they don't do the Beetroot Latte anymore which is devastating)

Gorgeous spot for breakfast! The meals were delicious, great coffee and perfect outdoor play space for the little ones. My toddler loved the sand pit which meant we could relax and enjoy our meals!

One of my favourite breakfast places in Perth. It is consistently great on quality of food, good variety of breakfast menu and excellent coffee. The staff are always attentive and friendly. The outdoor seating has a great kids sandpit and playhouse area.

Best breakfast I’ve had in Perth! And super friendly staff ❤️ absolutely loved it

  • 5/5 Lilach M. 1 year ago on Google
I loved this place for its decor and its food both being a little quirky but very taste full. The seats are beautiful but extremely uncomfortable. If you have a chance, sit on a sofa at the booths. The service was attentive, and made for a great place to add to my coffee map.

Thanks for today. A few more points I’d like to make... Firstly, how quick the orders came out was phenomenal!! So fast and hot. Secondly, the patience and courteousness of the wait staff delivering orders was great. Placing orders amongst 30 odd people must’ve been tricky but they were polite and quick about it. Thirdly, the young bloke at the register always had a smile on his face. Quick and polite. Fourthly, the food was fantastic. Chips were too delicious! Steak burger was good. But definitely trying the pork next time, as you suggested. Lastly, but not least, you. Your smile and service was fantastic as always. The way you run that place to me is superb. You always make me feel welcome and it’s why I chose your business to celebrate this milestone.

Came here the day after getting ice cream from the Kuld Creamery pop-up store next door to check it out. The food was delicious and well presented! I had the Truffle Mushrooms and my partner had the Pulled Pork Benedict. Also a very cute and rustic place, a great "vibe" as they call it.

Thoroughly enjoyed our visit for Sunday lunch. Lots of space, fast friendly service and great food. The cold brew coffee is 100% recommended for a hot day, it came served in a chilled glass with water frozen inside on one side. Very refreshing and speaks well to the level of attention of something as simple as a cold coffee.

The owners really know how to provide something unique here. The restaurant is filled with gorgeous metal works and the theme of Blacksmiths is definitely not just a name. There is also a play area for the kids out on the back patio. The food was extraordinary and the drinks were amazing. Would definitely recommend for anyone wanting a great breakfast with the family.

There are many things I love about this place; food, the kids play area, the fact that the restroom actually has a nappy change table and the just the general vibe of the place is excellent. But I wanna give a major shoutout to Amy. I visited early this morning and not only did she greet my boys and myself so warmly, she was really prompt with service (the moment we were done eating and my husband stepped away to the restroom, she politely asked if she could clear our dishes) and she was so thorough in cleaning. She sprayed and wiped down every kids chair AND the other chairs at all the tables. Simply wow. Amy, thank you for being such a gem!

Overall not the nicest experience, chips were still half frozen, milkshakes were warm, the waitress forgot one of our meals, and we found a live beetle in our salad.

  • 1/5 Sumee M. 3 years ago on Google
Coffee was bad, burger was basic. The waffle was a frozen waffle with cheap ice cream. Not worth the money paid. Nothing outstanding about this place besides the atmosphere of the cafe and kids friendly section. This is not a place I will return to, nor recommend to anyone.

Really great cafe/restaurant! Went there with my toddler and ordered the pancakes which were so good! While I was having my breakfast my daughter was playing in the sandpit which has lots of toys and kept her entertained while I was eating my food. The sandpit also has a gate around it so you don't have to chase your kids around the cafe! Win! Thanks guys for thinking about us parents :)

Plenty of tables well located just on the edge of the Beaufort Street strip of shops. Warm and friendly staff.

  • 1/5 Hasan S. 3 years ago on Google
Nice place, let down by the less than impressive service. Just don't try to substitute something of one dish for another side. Their system doesn't allow it apparently so they will gladly take the item off but won't add something less expensive on it instead. Cos you know...the sytem...it ugh yes...doesnt allow it.

Yummy brunch. Inside was warm, but the back courtyard looked great. Food was super yummy, but for the price if felt like it was just a little small. One staff member was a little to busy on their phone to take our order, but it eventually happened. Overall, worth a try.

Great cafe, very kid friendly as it has a great play area and sandpit. The food and coffee was great as well. We had the mushroom bruschetta and the beef burger, which was really good!

  • 5/5 B P. 4 years ago on Google
Tucked in the lower end of the Beaufort St entertainment, it is a large hall and expansive kitchen cafe with a decent large menu and each item looks delicious. The best part was the large spacing between tables that is pram friendly that suits my family and friends with kids play area. (Added bonus of spacing between tables if we end up doing that social distancing thing). I had the Korean fried chicken waffles this time , I would have liked the chicken crunchier but it was still well flavoured and tender inside, with generous kimchi coleslaw, bacon, well fried egg and syrup. Will come back for the other menu items.

My partner and I used to come to Blacksmith often and always enjoyed the food. However, the quality of the food has gone down, and the presentation and taste aren’t like what they used to be. I think they have changed the chef. Service was also a bit slow, and none of the tables outside were cleared of dirty dishes. Such a shame! We hope they improve on these things.

  • 4/5 no n. 4 years ago on Google
Great food only downfall they are unorganised with there bookings and tables/chairs can be uncomfortable but this is minor . Fast service polite staff. Food is different and generous.

  • 3/5 Ivy C. 4 years ago on Google
The place has very kid friendly vibe, a playground that's undercover out the back. The service was okay, maybe I went on an off day. The lady was all flustered talking my order and wanting me to pay later rather giving her cash.

  • 3/5 Lavinia N. 4 years ago on Google
Been a few times, only really keep coming back because its an easy place to get a coffee where the kids can play. Meals are tasty and quite large, but majority are overpriced. Smaller cheaper meals would be better. Kids meals are hit and miss, again, some of them definitely not worth the money. Coffee is good, most of the time. They use MilkLab which is a bonus. Decor is funky and the place is roomy, never had to wait for a table. Kids play area could do with a bit more attention. Most visits staff have been good, however have had a couple of 'off' days (but thats everywhere really!)

  • 5/5 Brad 4 years ago on Google
Went there for a coffee this morning, decided instead to have breakfast as well and all were pleased with this decision. I was there with my wife and a mate. We ordered different meals. I had the Lamb Benny, my wife the Eggs on Fire and my mate the Tuscan Beans. We each had a coffee with this as well. The service was relatively quick, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the café was clean and well presented and the atmosphere was relaxing with an indoor area that seemed good for small groups (i.e. friends having a catch up / enjoying light conversation) or larger tables out the back and also includes a play area, which seemed ideal for families with young children. The meals were all ample in size. Very large in fact. And delicious. No complaints with the coffees either. All in all and simply put I'd summarise this place as fantastic and a must visit. And when you do you'll definitely want to come back. Or at least I know I want to. Great job!

Love the decor. Staff are amazing, and very accommodating. The bike rack from out front went missing, so they let my cousin bring her bike inside. Fast service. Not terribly priced. And pretty good menu options, mildly limit menu, but all sound delicious. Plus there's parking right next door.

Yummy coffee, outstanding decor, lovely staff. Not a fan of the green hollandaise sauce, or it would have been 5 stars.
