Severe unprofessionalism from the security staff, was denied entry to the line as we did not meet the dress code (rules are rules so that’s understandable) we exited the line without any fuss at all, as we were walking away the security guard continued to say that my mate looked like a tea-towel as he was wearing a checkered shirt. Considering that we hadn’t provoked any of the staff this is highly unprofessional and management should strongly reconsider their staff that represents the venue

Absolutely horrid experience. Security let us all through ID check after they confirmed we were on the guest list. The short security guard with the black and blond top knot hairstyle was very rude and stopped one member in our group since he was wearing 'trainers' as it wasn't part of the dress code. We waited outside the club, at least 15 people were let in with identical shoes. When we asked why they were let in, the security guard replied that they were 'trainers' or 'casual' shoes (Airmax, Converse & Vans) and that my friend had "runners" on. They lost the business of our group of 12. A girl in our group had said that on her first visit a couple months prior, the same security guard was very rude when she wanted to go back in and find her friends. We won't be coming back. The security definitely had a favouritism to certain demographics.

Severe lack of professionalism from the security. Multiple people kicked from line with no reason provided aside from a supposed ‘guest list’. No identification was done at all. No one from the group of people I was with was refused entry because of dress code or being too intoxicated. Upon asking people who were inside, there was no guest list. Security threatened to push someone on public property when asking why they were not allowed inside. When asking how to create a guest list, security said ‘I don’t know’ and walked off. Gaslighted into thinking that there was a guest list when multiple people inside entered upon general entry. Kicked a girl out of line who was crying because she lost her phone and dealt with a rude security guard prior to this at the same venue. When questioning the girl at the door she stated that the security guards ‘decide whenever they want’ to nullify general entry - meaning there is no set time limits for general entry versus the supposed ‘VIP entry’. The lack of honesty was hard to overlook. Multiple friends were inside the venue under no VIP list. They entered after my friends and I were removed from the line - meaning they should have been general entry. Comments from security such as telling people to ‘Fu** off’ and calling people stupid are unnecessary and off putting. Difficult for customers to respect security when they cannot provide them with the same respect. The lack of consistency and honesty is what stood out. Management should look into the multiple negative reviews regarding security if they wish to be a long term business.

If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst security ever. Website states no shorts or singlets "FOR MEN" and yet upon arrival, a female friend of our group was declined entry as the 'door signage' simply states *no shorts* and she was wearing knee length shorts. No consistency with website and front door signage. BLATANT DISCRIMINATION as another friend was allowed in with a SKORT which was shorter than the shorts the other female friend was deny entry had on. 100% DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. ONLY SUPPORTS SLEAZY BEHAVIOURS. Speak with your money go to a place that is more inclusive and safe for females.

Security showed me a dressing code on his phone that was different from the one printed at the venue. It was a waste of my time lining up. By the way i was wearing a blazer, trousers with brand new sneakers and i was completely sober. They ONLY apply this code to whoever they feel like as people inside were clearly not dressed according to their policy. Obviously i will never go back nor recommend it. Unfair treatment, spend your money elsewhere.

Waited in line for 30 minutes. Then got told by the bouncer that the club was closed to the general public and I had to leave. 1 minute later after I left he let in about 30 random people that were behind me. My friends were inside, they were definitely not on the vip list.

Rude staff and security, the dress code is appalling - denied entry for wearing basic trainers, my mate was kicked out for ‘silly drunk dancing’ whatever that is… 🥴🥴 Definitely will go elsewhere 👍🏼

If you are hosting ‘latin parties’ the least you can do is to be respectful with latins, but the treatment in this place seemed excessively racist and senseless. Security are an absolute disappointment, I’ve been to several clubs in Perth and this is the first time to have any kind of problems. I don’t know if they think of themselves as Gods because they have a little bit of some kind of ‘power’, or is it just because they are too bored and just enjoying to ruin other people’s nights. Such a sad way to handle costumers. Never coming back and telling all the people I can not to come here.

Why would my friends be silently talking outside having a vape and your guard comes and grabs my friends? You should be ashamed, even making comments about my friends appearances? Sickening.

Looks like a budget club but has a dress code stricter than the Australian club. Also has bouncers hired exclusively from Steven Seagal’s gym.

Came to butterfly with a trans person that identifies as a woman would not allow her to come in. As a woman I am allowed to come in with shorts and my friend identifies as a woman and was not allowed in with the shorts. The bouncer laughs and says it doesn’t work that way and doesn’t matter what ‘he’ identifies at. Didn’t realised discrimination was at this club in 2022.

Me and my friend had a bad experience yesterday , the security guards are rude. Since the beginning they didn’t want to le us in , we asked a simple question and the security guy reply with a bad attitude, finally we were denied entry for dress code and ID issue. But the point it’s that it’s not the way to treat people and potential customers , I can perceived discrimination against Latin people.

Very disappointing first experience at "Butterfly" as a female. Dancing with 4 male friends and I was singled out and told I was a problem for dancing. he told me to "just stay in your space next time" like I hadn't been attending clubs and concerts since i was 16, very offended that none of my male friends received this treatment for dancing. After this encounter, I recalled a 6 foot male trying to force his back into me.. multiple times, but also recalled ignoring it as I was with my friends and not concentrating it. Not impressed to see they don't welcome females and always take the male opinion. None of my friends could understand what was going on when  I was singled out. The security, would not leave with reason, only ic I agreed with him I was in the wrong. I work in a male dominated field and It's clear this wouldn't of happened if I was male. Sad to see butterfly is a hundred years behind as well.

To start very rude security, that screamed with us in the queue before even got in! As an add on my friend received homophobic slurs while we were in the dance floor. Not a nice place to enjoy with your friends

It used to be THE best tbh in Perth. But now they let everyone in on a Saturday and the venue gets too packed like I get you don’t want people waiting in line but it’s get to a point where there’s too many people in the venue. I’ve been coming here for awhile and it’s been dead for awhile now. Please change the djs or play better music and stop letting everyone inside. It’s too much. It’s the reason I stopped going and had to choose a different club to enjoy.

I was hit quite hard on the arm by a male staff member (not accidentally) and when I asked what the hell that was for he walked away, I tried to tell 2 other staff members about what happened to me but I was dismissed.. was enjoying the club until then.

Absolutely ridiculous my partner paid for me and her and I paid for my partners two friends one of which was her birthday we waited a minute at the door for the friends I just paid for entry and the security guard attempted to grab my arm and lead me out I asked him not to touch me and said just a second please mate I just paid for two more people to come in they are right behind us. My partner and I were lead out of the premises after 5 minutes costing us 80$ I cannot actually believe the incompetence of these people …. First and last time. Drove home competent of blowing under..

Hands down one of the best if not THE best clubs in northbridge. Lines are always fast, staff is superb especially the Bartenders still being able to put a smile while pouring a deadly mix of a vodka redbull. One staff member that really made my night was a bar member by the name of Isabelle if I remember correctly she was amazing! Lovely club and I’m sure I’ll be coming here again

worst security i have ever seen in my life. They wouldn't let in because i was wearing jordan 13s and they told me they only accept jordans from 1 to 5…completely nonsense!! And icing on the cake they kicked me out saying my friend was too drunk (which is not true) and 4 of them jumped me just because i was talking quietly to one of the bouncers, then choked me until I passed out EDIT* I’m typing this after getting a response from the Butterfly social media team. You said I pushed the security guard and the team acted professionally after that, I have multiple witnesses stating that I was choked out after being immobilized and that the guard Who choked me out was nowhere to be found after that. If your team is professional im sure youre more then happy to release the video footage to me or to the pollice to prove your point right?

They are so racist! We came with our friend .. he is from Venezuela and he was showing the ID as a permanent resident in AUSTRALIA! And they said it wasn’t a valid ID which is a completely lie!! The discrimination in this place is just incredible ! They didn’t let him in even if he was in a dress code .. it was just because he is from Venezuela ! It’s not acceptable!

Horrible management, kicked out a friend who sober for “walking too aggressively to the the toilet” by a short ginger man with a beard, tried to get in contact with someone to raise this issue further however had no help by the several people I tried talking too. Please hire new staff.

It is ridiculous that the fat blond doorman (just a description) did not let us in because we drank a bottle of non-alcoholic sprite and a member of the group told us to come back tomorrow that tomorrow we can enter but not tonight. He was also very disrespectful and with racist comments, I can assure and recommend not to come to this place

Been coming here for the past 3 years and the Saturday nights never fail to impress. Good vibes, and bringing international clubbing experiences to little old Perth.

I love coming here! The dress code idea is so good because it looks really classy, staff are so nice and security always make us feel safe, they do such a good job at making sure it’s a safe environment, will always be my favourite place to be, if people don’t like the dress code they should find another club to go to.

Butterfly 73 is perfect for an after work get away and party nightspot. A wonderful venue offering private booths and hostesses to serve cocktails, cognac or prosecco. Thursday nights is Latin, Friday and Saturday RmB and Hip Hop. Worth a visit

We had a group booking for Saturday Night it was a Hens Party. We were told upon entry that we couldn't enter as we did not have heels on, back straps on heels but allowed sneakers. However on the email is didn't state a Dress code as we wouldve dressed accordingly. Security weren't helpful they were very argumentive towards a group of ladies. Also the Duty Manager was not very helpful at all. We wont be going back to this club would've at least spent around $600 easy.

Generally good atmosphere for Thursday night in Perth, but one of the barman that worked tonight (19/10) is very rude and unprofessional. He felt in title to push aggressively my arm away from the bar, and I was just resting on it while waiting to be served. I wish I could tape the moment. And yes if I can I will report him.

Honestly one of, if not the best place to go in Northbridge! Fridays are my favourite as the music has a selection of r&b & trap which is my go to preference but Saturdays are also great if you’re wanting to switch it up! The vibe is always immaculate and fun. Drinks are all reasonably priced and bartenders are always knowledgeable and great! Security are always looking out and glassies are super nice without pushing and barging especially on the dance floor. The location is close to everything, I always manage to get parking up the road if not then dropped off outside. Food is around everywhere and other clubs are close by once Butterfly closes! Only heads up would be to read the dress code before hand to avoid disappointment as each club has their own rules!

Went out to have a great night with friends checking to see what best nightclub to go heard this was a good club to go too but apparently not the security guards are very rude and abusive like as if want to attend a boxing match massive anger issues fresh out of jail understand you gotta control the crowd but not be rude bout it . I'd rather take my great night out to paramount and other clubs in the city Than this club

Always a great atmosphere and venue. Jeremy and his team at butterfly's are outstanding.

If you're expecting to rock up on the night by random for a good time, dont. The nightclub has a guest list / private event only. The bouncers can kick you from the line for wearing shoes they deem unworthy, and if you are a male, expect to wait in line cause they only allow women to jump the queue to get into the club.

The music is sooooooooo loud. It's good. But they are not taking the dangers of tinnitus very serious.

I used to come here almost every Thursday for about a year now and the music you play is not good latin/reggaeton music you used to play. A shame since it is the place where most latin and non-latin people go for dancing, sometimes you can’t even dance on that mix of songs!

Always amazing Parties there and it’s probably one of the best venues in Northbridge. Good vibes, really good music and a really flirty place as well. I go there regular and definitely recommend this place if u love good hip hop or Latin music on Thursday’s.
