Rio Tinto is amazing natural playground for the kids as well as their parents to spend their time playing, climbing and exploring the place. It was a great experience, thank goodness we had a chance to go there since it was closed few weeks ago for some renovations. It would be better to keep a close eyes on your kids cause they might get hurt so easily. What my kids liked most was the ropes playing area. The playground close at 4pm, so better to come early.

What a fabulous place! My grandchildren absolutely loved it. They're 3 and 1 and had a great time playing in the water and exploring the park. Naturescape is a very apt name. I can't wait to take them back when they're older, when they'll be able to access even more of the park's facilities.

Lovely place for kids to play and learn, informative and fun. Challenging climbs and ropes, and nice water area to tread water and also a stone pit to make stone stacks and forms. Bumped into a staff member also who was very friendly and helpful.

A really well put together nature play, and 100% worth a visit if you have kids. Being a nature lover, I’m not personally a fan of the pumped artificial creek, but the kids enjoyed it! Lots to explore here…

Nice place, but almost always closed. They close it when its hot even though no fire activity in this place, not even a gas bbq. What's the point in having a water park activity if you close it when people need it the most?????????????????????????

Stupid opening hours, so many people arrived the same time as I did on a sunny Saturday (we drove an hour to get there) and we all arrived to a closed gate and a sign saying 8:30-12:30. What park is open those hours on a warm weekend in the school holidays? Absolutely stupid.

There are many different areas within the nature scape to explore. You can wade in the water, but it is advised not to go deeper than the knees as the water is not treated. We attended during school holidays and they had a fun worksheet you could complete also.

Excellent park aimed at those adventurous kids who love all things nature, water and climbing! The park has a long winded loops of foot paths with various play spaces with mainly climbing equipment aimed at the older kids that can climb safely - not very ideal for toddlers. There's also no rubbish bins or picnicking areas, as well as time limits due to COVID-19 so keep your visits short.

The local and state government have all done a fantastic job at creating and maintaining some of the worlds best public spaces and this is another fine example. The naturescape is an amazing place for people of all ages to learn about Australia's long and rich history. Weather a tourist or local I encourage everyone to check it out.

Rio Tinto Naturescape is a hidden gem in the heart of Perth, Western Australia. As an avid nature lover, I was thrilled to discover this unique and immersive outdoor experience. First and foremost, the design and layout of Rio Tinto Naturescape are truly impressive. The park is divided into different zones, each representing a distinct Western Australian landscape. From the lush wetlands to the arid desert, every area is meticulously crafted to resemble its natural counterpart. This attention to detail creates an authentic and educational environment for visitors of all ages. One of the highlights of Rio Tinto Naturescape is the emphasis on hands-on learning. The park encourages children to explore, discover, and engage with nature in a safe and controlled setting. There are numerous interactive activities and play areas that promote creativity, problem-solving, and physical activity. From building cubbies to climbing trees, kids are encouraged to get their hands dirty and truly connect with the natural world. What sets Rio Tinto Naturescape apart from other parks is its commitment to environmental sustainability. The park utilizes recycled and natural materials in its construction, and there is a strong focus on conservation and biodiversity. Visitors can learn about the importance of preserving our natural resources and the role they play in maintaining a healthy ecosystem. Another aspect that impressed me was the knowledgeable and friendly staff. They are always available to answer questions, provide guidance, and ensure the safety of visitors. Their passion for nature and commitment to education is evident in their interactions with both children and adults. In terms of facilities, Rio Tinto Naturescape offers ample amenities for visitors. There are clean and well-maintained toilets, picnic areas, and even a café where you can grab a bite to eat or a refreshing drink. The park is also wheelchair accessible, making it inclusive for all visitors. The only downside I can think of is that the park can get quite busy, especially during weekends and school holidays. However, this is a testament to its popularity and the positive impact it has on the community. Overall, Rio Tinto Naturescape is a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts, families, and anyone looking to reconnect with the natural world. It offers a unique and immersive experience that combines education, adventure, and environmental sustainability. I highly recommend spending a day exploring this incredible park and discovering the wonders of Western Australia's diverse landscapes.

This is the way children should play. Visiting Naturescape was a wonderful experience. We enjoyed building a fort with branches and just exploring and enjoying nature in this unique setting. Wish there were more of these playgrounds around. You can easily spend an entire day here, be prepared for water play, getting dirty and your children not wanting to leave.

This is a fantastic nature playground for kids of all ages in the heart of Kings Park. It is free to enter. There are maps and a lot of signs explaining the do's and don'ts of the area. There are many different areas within the nature scape to explore. You can wade in the water, but it is advised not to go deeper than the knees as the water is not treated. We attended during school holidays and they had a fun worksheet you could complete also (photos attached).

Such a thoughtfully designed play space for kids that make them think they are playing in nature. Kids love getting wet and going climbing on the rocks and on the play equipment.

Nice place to bring kids! Something different from the usual city parks. The small river stream is the highlight where almost everyone gathers there.

Wow, what a fantastic place for kids to play. Set in nature & beautiful backdrop with interesting equipment for children of all ages to try out. Little pond where kids can dunk their little toes to walk around in & throw some pebbles to pass time. Do check for opening hours as they aren’t open daily.

Great place for families to explore. There is number of large wooden climbing structures. Watering hole is perfect for little ones. Water isn't too deep. Perfect spot for a picnic. Toilet facilities are located here.

I’ll try not to bang on about the fact that an industry like mining should not be funding children’s play areas. It seemed so blatant to me that the goal was to seed the idea from a young age that the mining industry is a) a great vocation opportunity and b) an industry that actually cares about societal and environmental issues. (vomit). I’m acutely aware that that industry has been the sole reason that Perth has seen such great economic prosperity over the last few decades, so I get it. All of this aside, my toddlers (2 & 3) didn’t really ‘get it’. It was over thought out and they kept asking ‘where the playground was’.

We went as a large group of 5 families. It was lovely to have a walk around with the kids in the afternoon. We found a cabana to put our food and drink down (being mindful of the birds). There was a neat toilet available and accessible and lots of courses for the kids to climb.

We visited with our 8 year old and 2 and a half year old grandsons. We had 2 hours only and stayed in one area as they wanted to play in the water but if time was not an issue we could have stayed a full day! Beautiful naturescape, covering every child's adventurous dream. We will be back for sure.

Awesome park with native vegetation and a semi-natural forest setting. It's set up for kids to explore, play and learn about the environment. There are places to climb, make cubby houses, or paddle in a stream / pond. There are activities for kids from the ages of 1 to maybe 10 or so. Adults will need to watch their heads in many places as the play equipment is sized for kids.

Excellent Australian Bush adventure play space. The running water is soothing, and each area keeps the kids happy too. The formal classes for 3-5 year olds, Zippy's adventures, is excellently planned and executed. Each lesson having a story, a craft, learning about the bush and Noongar words. Runs in line with school term.
