Fantastic playground and space for families who love adventure and nature. Loads of sandy and nature based play on the ground and off the ground too on the flying fox and tall towers. Facilities include toilets, bbqs and an outdoor shower too. Read more in our review at Kids Around Perth,

The best playground so far in Perth, nature designs, outdoor bbq, river viewing. Perfect for sunny days when you can keep your kids busy at the playground while fishing, kayaking along the river.

Sandy Beach reserve is great. There is a kids park which is currently being upgraded. An awesome picnic area by the river which people are always using. A sandy beach for if you want to swim in the river. It is a perfect spot for the dog to run into the river and swim. There is also a nice short walk track along the river. This has great views of some small pockets of native plants being regenerated and the river.

Great park to relax and watch the river or go for a walk along the foreshore trails. Toilets and barbeque facilities available which is handy, with decent parking. The new nature space playground is coming along nicely and will make a great addition to the area :)

Loved this park. Surrounded by all the trees and near the river it was peaceful and fun at the sametime. Heaps of sensory play/water play great for all kids. There's areas for picnics and tables so plenty of places to sit and eat. Fantastic slides and a massive flying fox highly recommend this park.

Sandy Beach Reserve has a lot of potential as far as family recreational park is concerned. It is still not fully developed. Once completed I'm sure it will be one of the best. You can do kayaking, swimming, walking, etc. You can just sit and relax while appreciating the nature. There are barbeques and public toilets too.

Stunning park that runs along the river. Not super busy and perfect for pets off leash. Great for morning walks or picnics πŸ‘Œ Definitely recommend trying the SUPs on the weekends.

Possibly Perth's greatest playground. From a giant fort whose top tier provides entry to a giant green slide to water and damming features that intrigue and occupy kids for multiple minutes, to a long and satisfying flying fox, to Bio toilets, BBQ facilities, the adjacent Swan River, and a host of other stuff, this is a space you will want to bring your kids back to time and time again. Whoever commissioned this play space is an out and out goddammed genius!

Always take my little staffy there for a walk. Good place for exercising and meeting people who are out walking as well. Lots of wildlife in the area to keep you occupied bird watching etc.

This is a hidden treasure that we happened to come across. It is such a wonderful playground for kids of all ages. There’s a huge slide that’s not for the faint hearted (me) and a basketball hoop. There’s also bbqs with shelters. The whole place is clean and well kept and amongst beautiful trees to keep it cool on hot days.

Easy shady parking. My 2 dogs love this place! Great job by the Guildford Shire, new (looks large) play ground being built at the moment that will even add to a great area, very few people at any time of the day, have a visit, especially if you have young children & dogs.

Great new nature-based playground with a varied mix of traditional equipment like slides, swings and flying foxes along with logs, balance beams, stepping stones and water play among native plantings. Big enough to leave something for little kids to come back and explore next time. Also has water fountain, toilets and picnic tables.

Went to sandy beach today at 5.00pm with Rosie didn't get bitten by any mosquitoes as I made sure I had the areogaurd on this time. We love it. Met some nice friendly dogs πŸ•

Great Playground, along side the Swan River with a nice multitude of things for kids of all ages to do. Public Unisex toilets, as well as Mr Whippy on weekends if the kids deserve a sugar top up. Over all great place to take kids of all ages.

I have been on my own for a walk and enjoyed but be careful of army of ants near trees if you sit down! Interesting to watch them though. My grandchildren love the play area with lots of interesting ideas for children's imagination to run wild. Water features good. Seating available too. Parking good. I never used restrooms.

Best playground! If only we live closeby! Giant slide which is not too difficult for my son to climb up, and the whole playground area is pretty safe for kids to run around. There's a BBQ area and plenty of seats and shades. Lots of beautiful trees surrounding the playground close to the river where people can kayak. Definitely has become a favourite on our list!

Great park, which is likely why it gets so busy on weekends. Variety of playground equipment and the river providing something different to explore. Only one pair of barbecues, though was surprised how hot and even they run - be nice and clean afterwards fellow picnicers.

Sandy Beach Playspace in Bassendean is an absolute gem for families! This place has it all - from picnicking spots to a dog-friendly atmosphere, clean restrooms, and an incredible playground that caters to kids of all ages. We recently visited Sandy Beach Playspace and were blown away by the experience. The highlight is undoubtedly the playground, featuring a massive play structure with towers, bridges, and slides that both little adventurers and thrill-seekers will love. There are swings, climbing frames, a double flying fox, tunnels, water play, and sand play areas, making sure every child has a blast. The best part? No trees were harmed during the creation of this playground, and the surrounding landscaping adds to its natural charm. For those with younger tots, there are toddler-friendly slides and a range of balance activities. Plus, the pathway for riding or scooting is a hit with older kids. Restroom facilities have been upgraded and are clean and well-equipped, with options for all visitors, including those with disabilities and families with babies. Bring your furry friends along, as this park is dog-friendly. Dogs must be leashed, but there's ample space for them to stretch their legs in the reserve area. As for picnicking, there are BBQs and picnic tables available, and you can also set up on the grassy areas. Parking is a breeze with ample spaces around the reserve. We've never seen so many happy families in one place, and it's no wonder why. Sandy Beach Playspace truly has something for everyone. It's a perfect spot to spend quality family time, enjoy a picnic, and let the kids explore in a natural, safe environment. Highly recommended! We can't wait to return for more outdoor adventures at Sandy Beach Playspace!
