Come here to spot the endangered black cockatoos, really cool that local council has put in water sources for the birds.

Absolute Hidden Gem! Awesome bush land reserve lots of native flora and bird life, highlights were seeing black-faced cuckoo shrikes and rainbow bee-eaters

The Bushland Reserve is right next to Harold Rossiter Park which is a large off-leash dog exercise area when it isn't being used by local sports teams or other groups (I've seen LARPers having great fun a couple evenings a week as well as a dog agility group). The Reserve is a beautiful mainly fenced (I assume so people & dogs don't disturb wildlife or trek in/out dieback) reserve for people to enjoy a short bush experience in the midst of suburbia! It has recovered well from a fire in 2016 and is a testament to the ability of native vegetation to bounce back as well as the efforts of the volunteer(?) community group Friends of Jirdarup Bushland. There is a public toilet & BBQ facility at the clubhouse at Harold Rossiter Park, but please be aware that the Park is an off-leash area and the Reserve is on leash. Please, bush rules or simple care for the environment rules exist, ie all poo or litter goes in the bin & is not to be left for someone else to deal with (usually regular park users or the friendly Rangers)!

Love walking through here, lots of birdlife and in spring the native flowers and wildflowers are lovely. It's great to see so much pink myrtle, donkey orchids and yellow wattle, smells lovely in spring too. Great dog park nearby also. There's a lovely frog mouthed owl family there also 😀

All paths in this park are fenced on both sides so that no one can walk in the bush. Great running corridors for dogs but not good for those wanting to look for and photograph flora and fauna. I saw some interesting spider orchids which I had to try to photograph from six metres away from behind the fence. I won’t be coming back to this park.

A hidden gem away from civilisation, in the middle of the suburbs. It's summertime now and the wild birds are having a good time chasing each other. In spring, there's the wildflowers.

This really is the jewel in Victoria Park. Wildflowers in abundance and some beautiful bushland. Get a breath of fresh air here!

Only went as quick stop for my dog, definitely going to return & take a good look/walk. Went back today (perfect weather),took the path walk around bushland, good walk, only downfall dogs have to be leashed, but still a nice walk. Then you get back to oval & dogs can run & play unleashed. It's only 15mins,& seemed to be many different smells for dog,she enjoyed the walk & ball play.🤗🐶

a.k.a. Jirdarup (Nyoongar word meaning “place of birds"). Lovely area of preserved natural bushland. Good place to spot black cockatoos, among other birds. If bringing dogs into the area please keep them on a leash as per the many signs.

Easy flat walking paths on limestone gravel pathways. Some birdlife and bobtails can be seen. This is a remnant bushland you can't get lost in. Nicer viewing in autumn and winter months. Summer this place is very dry and not much to look at.
