Super low rating from me due to not being able to make it to stay last night at this place, asked nicely if I could get a refund due to fact I had a car accident and was stuck a few hours away waiting to the next morning for a new rental car. I was feeling really sad and stressed, wasn't rude at all.. had to pay $2K excess, another hotel, another hire car.... Spoke to 2 different ladies and didn't really feel much sympathy at all, they were just quoting refund policy and that I would have to email them for management to decide. Surprise surprise email today quotes "They have advised that unfortunately a refund cannot be issued as per the cancellation policy. We thank you again for your understanding." So disappointed that they couldn't make exception for my case, won't book or recommend staying here. Also upon reading other 1 star reviews I'm sure a response will be posted from Banksia stating some excuse, probably quoting their policy,, can't wait....

What a superb hidden gem this park is. Booked an ensuite site on a big concrete slab to accommodate our big van. Very clean and tidy everywhere. Quiet with lots of shade, bird life abounds. Good proximity to shopping, even Perth city is reasonably close, good access to freeways north and south. Emily at reception is a wonderful representative. Highly recommended.

The build quality and standard of facilities and level at which they are maintained is exceptional. Kitchen, lounges and BBQs very good indeed. Grass, pool and play area are also nice. Not much noise from traffic and can hardly hear planes from airport at all.

Stayed for 3 nights in a powered site. Firstly the check in process was the most inefficient system I’ve experienced after going around the whole country. We got an email that said check in was after 3pm. We then got a text message the day of check in at 2:45pm saying if checking in after 4pm to follow the instructions in text, but if checking in before 3pm check in at reception. When we got the reception it had shut at 3pm. The after hours check in process was appalling. There was a National number to call that took a long time on hold, when they didn’t answer I called the mobile number that was stated on the reception door for if there was no answer on the other number. The male on the mobile number said “I can’t help you, they’re busy, just keep calling and if you can’t get through leave a message”. I then continued calling the national number and got through and once they answered they required 100 points of ID over the phone before allowing me the safe number to get the swipe card. Secondly there was no water accessible to the site. Thirdly permanent residents using our site as a car park. The park had a very eery feeling with lots of permanent residents hanging around. Maybe the whole check in process just made it feel off but I wouldn’t be staying here again or recommending this park to anyone

A little on the older side with a lot of permanent residents. Has a pool and a great doggy area! Toilets and showers are older but clean- a small bath is also available in the ladies and men's toilets, great for the kids!

Don't Do It The descriptions of the accomodation was misleading and conflicted with titles. Staff were rude, dismissive, defensive and condescending when we presented at the front counter. We asked for management and told they were "on grounds' however they couldn't contact them. I even got yelled at - although I was keeping calm and precise. I was told I could send an email and I 'may get a response' Where has customer service gone? It was an expensive outlay for something that should have been at a much lower price. The grounds are well kept and clean - but we weren't staying in the gardens! The room was clean.... just not as described. Although a non smoking room there was an ashtray?? Heater didn't work . Only four sugar packets .... I could go on. Based on this and more, I will not be recommending this property to anyone.

We had a great stay. Staff friendly and explained everything about the room and park at check-in. Our Room was nice and clean, bed was comfortable. We asked for cleaned towels during our stay and quick service we had them in 15 minutes. The cleaner noticed our floor was dirty so she offered to mop it for us. The manager introduced himself asking how our stay was. He also helped us with the wifi but the signal was weak in the room so he also offered us to use the campers room with a free coffee. This is a first for us as we have stayed at a lot of caravan parks so it was a nice touch to get this extra service. Highly recommended.

I second the comment regarding the lady at front of house being in the wrong job. I think prison warden is definitely a great suggestion for a change of career!! Great facilities here, although some of our personal belongings were stolen by a very unsavoury couple a few spots down from us.

Well we were welcomed with an odd smell but after a few windows were opened it had passed. The light from the shed also lit up the place at night but apart from that The place it's self was fine. Pool was nice and cooking facilities are great. All in all its a place to stay as you explore Perth

Do not stay here if you are disabled- We are very disappointed in the the response to our recent fair and reasonable review. There is no excuse for discrimination to those with mobility issues. Being unable to access the bathroom is unlawful and unacceptable. Please do not excuse yourselves for being unable to offer equitable access to all and do not offer untrue explanations in regards to your young staff not escalating our polite request to deal with a manager over our valid concerns. If you respond inappropriately again to our genuine review to warn others about the challenging environment their loved ones will encounter in your establishment we will take our complaint to the department of industry. (Also known as consumer affairs). All of our concerns are valid and your response thus far has been insulting.

Amenities and cabins are cold and basic. Have been text after hours suggesting im breaking park rules when im unloading belongings out of my car into a cabin in the pouring rain. (There was plenty of room for a car to pass, I was there 15 mins) The laundry equipment leaves something to be desired, I used to drive to Midland to do my washing. I have been insulted by staff at reception an example below. After spending 3 days in their superior pet friendly cabin then transferring across to a powered site on the 4th day. I forgot to take my keycard with me. Needless to say I had already paid online for my accomodation. Anyway, I apologised as soon as I realised and said please don't make me walk all the way back to get it. I will add I had been frequenting the park for the past year and they already have my card details. The girl at the desk stood up, straightened her shirt and stood there like she was a ranking officer of the bloody royal guard. She looked at me and said "So you know Karen, it is the park "Protocol" that we sight your card or you cannot stay here." I will let it go this time only, dont let it happen again! WELL EXCUSE ME!!! From what I've experienced personally, what other people have told me and what I can see posted here, nothing will ever change. I was embarrassed that day and simply didn't have my whits about me. On thinking about this and based on my personal experience working in hospitality I wouldnt dream of speaking to a guest that way. As for her addressing me by my Christian name, I never gave her that permission. Needless to say I'm old enough to be her mother. There was a young man sitting behind the desk at the time, it's possible she was out to impress. Unfortunately it's cost Banksia another customer and im sure after reading other complaints and responses that this will be met with similar responses and excuses. Unfortunately rude staff regardless of what "Protocol" happens to be, will always drive customers away Regards Karen

Bag of rubbish left outside my room during my stay. I assumed the cleaners would return to collect it, however never did. Was going to remove it myself when I noticed there was rats scavenging through it. Travel weary from travels into WA all I wanted to do was wash my cloths and catch up on sleep which proved difficult due lack of washing machines and no where to access change for the dryer. The rats loitered outside my cabin door all night as I could hear them. I won't be returning nor recommending this venue. Contemplating complaining to reception but they were rude at the best of times.

Well appointed caravan park with adequate amenities, camp kitchen and laundry. Stayed five nights on powered site. Pool closed for winter and children’s playground up front and also common room with TV. Bus outside to Midland train station. Senior day rider $4.20, so leave the car and use public transport to Perth CBD and Fremantle sightseeing.

We've stayed at several campsites over the last few weeks, and this is the best of them all. Fantastic showers,so powerful and always clean. Rec room and kitchens are great. Pool is very clean and great for both our 5 year old and 10 year old. Friendly and efficient staff. Thorough welcoming from the lady on reception. Great location for is heading to the airport early for a flight. Thank you Banksia ❤️

Overall, a good place to stay with lovely grounds, amenities and location. A few things to note: Wifi was very limited and there was hardly any phone service in room so unable to stream shows etc, difficult with teenagers! The chalet although clean still had lots of dust under the bed and on lamps etc. Prob needed a more thorough clean. The sliding door was coming off the runner, could not open and close. Thanks

Nice park and facilities. But, sleeping in a tent (cold) it is surprising that kitchen (indoor) is closed from 9pm to 7:30 am. 10pm to 6:30 am is ok.

Went here for Easter and to be honest, wouldn’t go back. There was no atmosphere to the place and we were on the SMALLEST caravan site possible and to add insult to injury, the site opposite had heaps of room and infact it was that small we couldn’t put our awning out all the way plus we had a tree in the caravan window from a permanent site next door. Also the tv and radio was so loud we could barely hear ourselves talk.

We were running late to check in but got a phone call from a lovely lady from the park to give me instructions about how to check in after hours. So polite and very helpful. Chalet was clean and so quiet! Would stay there again if we need accomodation in the city.

We found the staff always a pleasure to deal with - courteous, friendly and helpful. However, our stay in a chalet was ruined by a succession of rowdy and intrusive neighbours who, treated us as if we were invisible. The chalets had common walls and every noise and loud conversation came floating through at all hours. We visited the swimming pool only once; it was freezing! We were ignored by every other camper on the park. We will not return and cannot recommend this accommodation.

Banskia Tourist Park is an extremely wonderful tourist park, pet friendly, and very well maintained and clean. Very peaceful. With close location to a variety of shops. Excellent choice of a variety of different types of accommodation. Highly recommend.

Stayed here with my two dogs in a cabin and was very happy with my stay! My room was modern and beautifully decorated unlike some of the other pet friendly cabins around Perth. The room was a decent size and felt at home in it. Highly reccomend Banksia Tourist Park!

I got a lux pet friendly cabin for two nights. it was magnificently clean! the fly screen was clean on the rails, no rattle. the door locks click and also clean on the rails the windows also clean on the rails and clicked aircon heater was fast to heat the room. shower was a nice size and plenty of room in bathroom the place is quiet and everyone nice. Close to fast food if you need wifi was terrible and my code didn't work. fan rattles a bit in the bathroom i have them 5 stars though.... why? because i left my mobile phone behind in the room after leaving and it got returned. you can the after hours number and the guy picks up or calls back. I'll be going back for sure! thanks Banksia!

WARNING...Do not stay in the CHALETS!! My partner and I stayed Thursday the 7th of July 2022, we were booked in for 2 nights. Staying Chalet H. All night there was knocking noises in the walls continuously all night. It was driving us crazy as we couldn't get to sleep. My partner had to go work at 2am and was late as by the time he fell asleep it was time to go to work. I was suspose to get up at 6am but was too tired from the restless sleep. Just overal nightmare of a stay that was suspose to be pleasant paid $165 per night, mind you. When I told the reception staff, Emily said she would tell Management and maintenance. I also sent Emily video evidence of the knocking noises. I told Emily there was No way we would be staying in Chalet H or anywhere near that room and she said they were fully booked. So they couldn't accommodate us. Emily sent me an email during the day saying they couldn't find where the knocking noise was coming from. Management told Emily that they would refund the 2nd night so they could sell the room but not the night we had no sleep. So they never fixed the problem (the room and rooms next to should be OUT OF ORDER due to maintenance issue) instead they continue to sell the rooms for $165 per night. Emily said the Park would lose money by not charging us for that night which is disgraceful. They are still selling the rooms when they should be out of order for maintenance to fix. I will be taking this further and we will never stay here again.

Pretty good place. Been to a fair few caravan spots lately and this one always has nice grass, great amenities. Clean and tidy. Only con is the phone reception. Horrid. Other then that it's 10/10

The one star is for the aircon. NO INTERNET reception, mattress uncomfortable, dirty dishes The room that I was in had no sound insulation I could hear the people next door every word and even when they go to the bathroom. Internet was a big issue, as I had reports that I had finish and submit. All I got from my complains was that they didn't guaranteed internet that's why it is for free. everywhere I stayed previously internet was free. If you check in late, they only made internet "available"(even there is NO internet) the next morning - so you are without internet till they start working and weekends its only after 10- I arrived after 12pm and was very hungry, as I took out the plates and cutlery it was filthy food stuck onto the plates and cutlery. needless to say that I didn't eat. when I complained the next morning the reply was ... Its not their fault, they are very busy and it is the guest responsibility to clean the up I experience them as reluctant to go the extra mile. Not a good experience

We stayed 2 nights in a pet friendly cabin with bathroom. It was renovated and clean, (minus the no sheet and unwashed bedding for the fold out couch) we brought extra blankets so didn’t bother us much. Dogs loved being allowed in. Great Pool and bbq facilities with huge benches. Doesn’t feel like you’re right next to busy roads. Overall great value

We booked in for 3 nights...positives are close to airport, which is why we booked our last 2 nights here as well. Lovely receptionist, lovely pool. Negatives are... the guests are suppose to clean up after themselves or they are charged $30, our dishes, cutlery, microwave were dirty, the shelf the cups where on was filthy, I know because I cleaned it. 2nd time we stayed different unit, my husband and I had a shower walked around barefoot, went to climb into our white sheets and our feet were black. God knows when the floors were last washed. Towels were never replaced and take your own face cloth as none are provided. 1 roll of toilet paper given and a dollar a roll after that we went and brought our own. Lots of cleaning staff around so I'm not sure why the rooms weren't cleaner. We were going to book units for our next holiday but think I'll look elsewhere.

We were passing through and needed a pet friendly place to stay. Banksia did not disappoint. Our cabin was super cute, affordable and they were so friendly and accommodating. Can’t recommend this place enough!

  • 2/5 Brandy L. 1 year ago on Google
Nice enough park. The customer service is horrendous. One particular lady is really miserable and seems to go out of her way to make the park inconvenient for its users. Not sure how the bathrooms stayed so clean because no one came in to clean them in the 5 days I was camping. Toilet paper disappeared around Day 3 or 4 and wasn't refilled by the time I left. Even if you wanted to let them know it was out, the office was almost always locked with no one to be seen. I noticed a lot of the time, a couple of the same staff mentioned above just sat around the side of the office chatting for hours while I did some computer work nearby. Like others have commented, the tent sites have very little shade, but if you set up anywhere, no one seems to come out of the office to check. The map and the park design is very confusing. I booked into a power tent site and got a cement slab across from a putrid water reservoir. The smell was a bit off-setting, but not unbearable. Apparently, doggie daycare runs under very special circumstances "when its 30 degrees or cooler". Another resident said he had never seen it run. I have yet to find the "dog park". Definitely not as advertised. Pretty disappointing. Its sad because I hear this is one of the nicer parks around.

  • 3/5 Amanda L. 4 months ago on Google • 1 review
Park was nice and clean, abolitions were lovely and clean. Showers were amazing. 😁 The only down fall for us was we had a soft floor camper and the floor of the site was concrete but we made it work. The reason for 3 stars is we received an sms at 6am on Sunday morning to remind us about checkout. Please change your times for this to be sent through, was not a happy camper 😠😤
