Our first visit to Sumiya Gin and also our first time eating wagyu beef and it's on a hibachi charcoal grill. It's a great experience even though there's a slight hiccup with our reservation but nevertheless we give them a chance and they proved their worth! The ambiance is very welcoming and charming. The food is absolutely amazing and the beef melts in the mouth. Service is delightful and staff are friendly, fast and efficient. Booking is strongly recommended as this restaurant is rather small and very popular.

Got recommendation to try this place. And surely well deserved to visit. The restaurant itself is small but it has enough tables to accommodate their visitors. Advance booking is always recommended to avoid long waiting and no table

This place came highly recommended from a friend and once we tried it we can see why. The Japanese Wagyu was incredible and just melts in your mouth. We spent quite a bit of $ for 4 as we mainly got the high quality cuts and wasn’t completely full by the end. However we later found out that there’s a $69(ish) pp deal that is suppose to be a really good value for money so we’ll have to try that next time! Also this place is BYO (as at the time of our visit) which is really nice.

We had the $65 special menu deal where they bring out a variety of dishes. It was sooo filling and the service was prompt and friendly. We were celebrating a birthday and we really enjoyed the cozy setting on a cold night. I'd highly recommend booking at least 2 weeks in advance if not more as it's a small restaurant.

Best BBQ in Perth. The beef was extraordinarily yum! Genuine Japanese BBQ yakiniku. Free refill salads. Beef skirt and thick beef tongue was great!!! Definitely recommended!

Very nice food and selection from $98 menu for 2ppl. It was a lot of food and we have to take away some. Need to book in advance if you want to dine in. Staff are very friendly and patience. Best charcoal BBQ in Perth, yes yes yes. The taste of the marinade mainly is more on the sweet side. Takoyaki is nice too. The spicy pork belly and all the beef marinade are very yummy.

Best quality JBBQ/KBBQ meats in Perth. With the fattiness in the meat, you'll become full a lot sooner than you'd expect. There's not much point of going to a buffet elsewhere; this is one of the times where quality far outstrips quantity.

The set meal for two is very good value, and the meat is of good quality. It is a very authentic Japanese yakiniku restaurant. However, due to the small space and the smell of barbecue, and the seats are crowded and close to the guests at other tables, I think the dining environment is not very comfortable.

Definitely have to book in advance. Attentive and quick service through out. The wagyu's natural flavour was perfect on its own and was buttery thanks to the marbling. Also tried the cod, which was delicious; served with a salty sauce and orange. Yam chips made for a good start and yuzu ice cream capped things off nicely. 🤤

I love this place so much! Japanese bbq 🤤 I need to find out what they put in their cabbage salad because it is so damn good! And it has endless refills 😍 The A5 wagyu melts in your mouth like butter. The original pork belly slices are so delicious. The tempura prawns, karaage chicken, takoyaki, sauces all amazing. I don’t think I’ve tried anything here that I didn’t like! We don’t bother getting rice as it would probably fill you up too quickly but if you wanted to keep the bill on the cheaper side it would be a good idea. Book well in advance for weekends! Parking can be tricky but we always seem to be lucky and get parking out the front, otherwise you should be able to find street parking down one of the side streets.

You go for top grades wagyu in this shop. Remind me of such shops in Kobe. Sushi was good as well. BYO. Wish they can sell beer to go with the BBQ.

Very complicated feelings about this shop. 1. It’s real wagyu. 2. The scotch fillet (not inc here) 45 aud per 1.5 thin slices 2mm thick. 8 dollar per bite. 3. ITO wagyu, rounds about 230 aud / kg, fat trimmed price. 4. We hv some fat non trimmed wagyu. Won’t visit again for casual dining. I dont understand why will this shop needs a 3 wks ahead booking.
