This beautiful beach attracts a lot of people so you may have tough time finding a parking spot around there. Water clarity is usually high which makes itโ€™s one of the greatest snorkelling spots. Itโ€™s pretty safe for kids as itโ€™s shallow ๐Ÿ

Beautiful beach, perfect for snorkelling with kids. Loads of fish and if youโ€™re lucky youโ€™ll see an octopus or sea dragon! A good sized toilet block with changing rooms sits behind the main beach and thereโ€™s some showers to wash the salt and sand off you before getting in your car. Can get busy at weekends and holidays so try and get there early to nab a decent parking spot.

Highly recommended if you enjoy snorkeling. Such amazing marine diversity. Am a regular visitor now. Also great for surfing in the high swell season. Beautiful spot

Good if you like snorkelling and being touched by any of the untold horrors the ocean has to offer. Little shallow, but I can't really blame the pool for the tide, now can I? How do you review a natural place, it can't take on board my constructive feedback?

Named after Frank Mettam who created the pool from the 1930's to the '60's with a pickax and a few explosives. He cleared the limestone to create a safe beach and today it teems with fish. Go Frank! ๐Ÿคฟ๐Ÿ ๐Ÿ‘

My favourite, safe and welcoming snorkel spot. Fantastic and safe with the kids and when you want the extra thrill just head out the back of the reef where it drops down 10 meters. A great spot to explore and so safe you can practice doing night dives to build confidence, without the risk of ending up shark bait!

Lovely beach section if you donโ€™t want a big crowd or a bodyboard/ surf sess. I felt very safe, just be careful as there are some rocks when you first go into the ocean.

Went snorkelling here and was overwhelmed how beautiful the beach and shallow reef is. As a beginner to snorkelling I found it really easy to navigate and found plenty of fish to watch and places to dive down to aswell. Highly recommended for anyone and perfect for kids too as the reef is protected from the ocean waves.

This is an amazing swimming spot and great for snorkellers of all abilities. It's a good idea to check wind conditions before heading down as visibility can be am issue here if the weather isn't right. However, some of my most favourite snorkels have been here. Make sure you've got a buddy and if you're up to it, head a bit further out. There's lots of swim throughs and it's spectacular.

This beach has the best outdoor shower in Perth, real good pressure and watertemp. Try it out after your swim in the ocean you'll love it.

Nice relaxing rest with nice sea views.

My second visit. Even though the water was a bit rough the showing was great with a large amount of different fish and beautiful rocks. The beach is nice too with she's areas. Good footwear is recommended because of the limestone rocks.

Best place for snorkeling, inside the reef is perfect for kids, outside the reef is amazing if weather permits. Get down early though as parking can be difficult.

Reef is doing well and thereโ€™s lots to be seen if you are snorkelling. Lots of fish. Pretty packed on the weekends but nonetheless enjoyable

Today, 2 Jan 2024. We went there 5am. The water was clam and cool. great day for a swim.๐Ÿ˜Ž

Went there early morning, it's summer and expected the car park to be full at around 8am. Lucky we got one, thanks to my praying son. ๐Ÿ˜ Beautiful spot for a swim, for a walk.. I love WA.

Good little spot for a snorkel. You can park on West Coast Drive or at the Bennion beach car park and walk down. Thereโ€™s outdoor showers and taps to rinse off. Doesnโ€™t get a lot of shelter but good on a calm day. Saw plenty of fish.

Mettams Pool has issues with coastal erosion and it shows as you walk in an incline along the beach. Large waves and some current made it challenging to snorkel as it also contributed to poor visibility today this evening.

It was a bit windy and wavey when we went so it wasn't the best. Probably best to pick a calm day for better visibility. We found parking pretty easily in one of the back/side streets. The main carpark was busy though.

Great view of Perth if you walk down hill about 100 meters you can also have good clear view of south of the river, u would allow 2 or 3 hours to have a good look around, there also loads of plants that are labeled individually to look at, parking and toilets are available in this area. #GoogleMaps, #LocalGuides.

Nice tiny little beach. Lots of little fish. But no sharks. So thatโ€™s nice. Why canโ€™t councils use our ratepayers money to have that one shower they โ€œprovideโ€ have a water stream that lasts for more than 1 exact second? Would be nice to have a button that someone that isnโ€™t Arnold Schwarzenegger can push it, too.

Beautiful spot day or night you can sit in the carpark with a clear uninterrupted view without even leaving the car.

The best spot for easy access snorkeling. Amenities very close by and a good amount of parking even on the busy days. Try to find the channels for loads of colourful fish

Not a bad place for swim, but at times it can bee dangerously rocky, both out of ware and under the water. I cracked toe nail of my right foot by a rock just a millimeters under the sand.

Beautiful spot for snorkeling but can get very busy

Had a great time here! Swimming and sun-bathing! Better to go in the morning (7-9) where it is low tide and less crowded.
