First time here, had heard it was a great pub. Well, don't bother with the buffet, not sure about ordering off the menu, but noticed not much to choose from. After reading other reviews, it's obviously recently changed hands. The buffet was not enjoyable at all. Fish was cold & undercooked, as was the chicken. Reported the undercooked fish, no response, no apology, nothing. No roast meat left, and was not replenished. Chips & veges were disgusting & cold. Saw a couple other people take up their plates and complain about the food too, and were just given clean plates. Salads looked dry and distasteful. Need some major changes in the kitchen guys, and definitely not worth $30.

We went to the Bistro here for dinner a few nights ago and I am so happy to have found this place. Ever since moving to Perth I have been on the hunt for a local, down to earth pub with good food and a good atmosphere and I have finally found it. We were really impressed with everything here - the food was absolutely amazing and the prices are u believably cheap. I paid only $20 for my fish and chips and it was so nice. Not oily or covered in thick batter, just beautiful fresh, light fish and a lovely salad and chips to go with it. My partner had the grilled fish and was 10/10 happy with that too. The portion sizes were very generous, especially considering the low cost and high quality, the seating and tables were comfortable, the Coke was given to us in cans (with glasses) which I am a big fan of for avoiding flat coke that you often get on tap and all of the staff that we encountered were really lovely and welcoming. The menu was quite extensive with lots of nice looking things I’ll try in future and they also have a buffet which is a cool option. I did also notice a cocktail menu that had some really amazing sounding cocktails on it. I didn’t try any this time but I will another night and update the review. I very rarely find cocktails that I like but these all sounded great so that’s another big tick. All in all, this is just a really great place and I’ve lived down the road from it for many years without ever really noticing it so I’m glad we finally did.

We went for a farewell dinner last night and was going to get the buffet but after checking it out we were not impressed so opted for something off the menu. My husbands meal was good but my meal never came. After reminding the staff again we waited and still no food. As everyone else on the table had finished eating I decided to cancel the order and got a refund. Had a piece of toast when I got home. What on earth happened to this place!

I understand that if there’s a no takeaway policy on the buffet then that’s the policy but if you’re in the business of hospitality you should probably be able to treat your customers with some level of respect, there are plenty of ways to kindly let customers know about store policies, that should be implemented before being blatantly rude, hopefully it was just a one off for you guys.

We enjoyed our visit. Looking forward to coming back to try some of the good food we saw. Sports Bar had a good atmosphere.

I used to be a regular at this pub 6 years ago back when it was famous for its food in those days it was a definite 5 star every visit. However it has changed hands and has gone way down hill. 2 stars is being very generous for old times sake, the lady behind the bar and catching up with old mates was the only thing enjoyable about this visit. Definitely not going to recommend this one. Whatever you do don't order food.

We went to The Bayswater hotel for lunch today for my husband's birthday. We chose to have the buffet, as on previous occasions it had been quite nice! So disappointed the food was disgusting. It was all served stone cold. The roast beef was tough, Roast vegetables were not cooked through, potatoes rock hard. The salads were a soggy mess. The only edible food were the hot chips and bread rolls. So a plate of chips and a tiny bread roll for $25 each 🙄 Everyone seemed to be complaining to staff. Don't waste your money!

Have been going to bayswater hotel for years and went Saturday night for a birthday party at 6pm opening time. Was the most disappointing meal and service. Ordered 2 jugs of lemon squash that were soda water as they run out of the lemon squash. Bad news for a pub. Paid $92 for two adults and two kids for buffet meal. Wow got up there to find only a tray of mixed root vegetables all dried up, no chicken, no roast meat, tray of dried rice, some pieces of poorly battered fish with little amount of chips mixed in with the fish. Obviously they don't understand the phrase cheap as chips. Paid $16 per kid to basically eat watermelon oh I forgot they had run out of buns 😡 it's the simple things 🤔 when I reported to the manager about the issues he replied it's a buffet so we could go back to get more but I said to him there wasn't any more so he was going to go have a word to the kitchen staff. I get the need for prices to rise that's OK to a point but crape service doesn't work. Sorry Bayswater hotel you've now lost our family business. Maybe get Gordon Ramsey to come and show you how to run a business and treat customers 🤔 😡

Extremely disappointing. I have often given rave reviews for this hotels services, location and staff to friends, colleagues and Expedia. I have stayed here numerous times in the past but will never be staying again. After flying into Perth international and navigating my way around the construction at Bayswater station to the hotel I was presented with cyclone fencing around the border of the hotel and directed to go around the back of the hotel to a temporary reception block, where I was advised by young staff that no hotel facilities were available, only accommodation as the hotel is under renovation. I was then asked for a deposit of $150 ( which is expected for a “Quality” fully operational hotel. Staff stated that they have experienced damage in the rooms in the past and are now requiring a premium deposit to settle costs. I am not happy and feeling extremely ripped off by the Quality Bayswater Hotel. There is no compensation for inconvenience and I have paid the usual premium price for a twin room (I was given a poor queen and my room is a long way from an upgraded premium) even though accommodation is all that is on offer from this supposed Quality” hotel. When I expressed my dissatisfaction with the price, and no notification of renovation and no services. I was told by a very very young man “ if I didn’t stop complaining they would ask me to leave.” As I paid through a third party they were not the least bit interested in assisting me, only taking my money. All up today I have paid $315.00 for poor service and accommodation. ($150:00) I expect back. Don’t book this hotel. You can stay in 5 star accommodation with full services in Perth city for the same price.

WOW its amazing what a few years can do to a good thing….. my son wanted spaghetti, well he smelt it and said dad is this normal? So i trued it and deadset it tasted like absolute crap…. Took it back and chef says “oh it smells fine to me”….well champ you better start tasting your own cooking because that was absolute dog s**t and as for the buffet if i can give any advice to anyone, please do yourself a favour and stay right away from this joint what an absolute disgrace. I hate mcdonalds but id much rather spend my money there then it in this terrible excuse for a restaurant. Will never return EVER

Ate here for the first time today with my family. We got the buffet lunch, very disappointed! For the price it was a very average senior citizen style meal. I was just about to eat a bit from my chicken and noticed the blood from were it was undercooked! I informed the staff and all she did was say try another piece. Mine wasn't the only piece that was raw. I'm disgusted that the chicken in the buffet was just left there and not removed to be replaced with chicken that was hopefully cooked. The staff didn't care! Everything is out dated, cold and average, I wouldn't recommend eating here!

Here's my recent experience at the Bayswater Hotel's Front Bar: Accessibility: ⭐⭐⭐ For wheelchair access, you'll need to go around to the Bistro side. Facilities: ⭐⭐⭐ Accessible restrooms and seating, but they are located in the Bistro area. Quality of Offerings: ⭐⭐⭐ Food was quite appetising and well-presented. Safety Measures: ⭐⭐⭐ The environment is relatively safe for individuals with disabilities with minor safety concerns. Community Integration: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ The hotel's efforts in promoting community integration are noteworthy 👏. Overall, a 3-star rating ⭐⭐⭐ from me.

First time visit. Big place with several different bars/eating areas including beer gardens. Good selection of beers. Pizza I had was really good: thin crispy base nice tasty toppings for a reasonable price. Friends had garlic prawns (tasty big prawns in sauce with rice) and seniors buffet (which he said was really good). Right next to train line so an easy destination if you don’t want to drive.

They offered very fair price buffet and drinks. Really enjoyed the food here. The buffet only costed $30/pp. Not way too many options but good enough to be very full.

My family and I went for the buffet yesterday at lunchtime for my birthday and we were very really happy with the food. My fave was the battered whiting which was exactly like the fish and chip shop. We will be going again soon 😋.

Came for dinner. Very poor choice of food in the buffet. Everything looked stale and cold. Choose to get the steak as it was the special that night. Normally $34, but was $22. Glad I didn’t pay top dollar cos it wasn’t even worth $22. Steak was fatty and sinewy. Cooked very poorly. This was accompanied by some shrivelled lettuce. Garlic sauce had split. Was gross. Won’t be back.

First time here today and will be the last. Booked a table for the buffet and when we arrived were told the buffet was closing in 15mins. The booking was made a week in advance for a birthday lunch and I called 2 days prior to confirm booking and time. We ended up staying and ordering off the menu but unfortunately it wasn't worth what we paid.

Went there for the buffet. It makes up in quantity what it lacks in quality. It is probably better and more cost efficient to order al a carte. Pizzas looked good. I don't think I'll be going there again. Staff were friendly.

Shower needed attention, the shower head wouldn't stay at the top so we had to improvise and tie it there with some dental floss. The rooms are ok but I guess you get what you pay for.. Have the opinion that the cost of a hotel/motel is the comfort of the bed , the rating of the shower and how easy it is to park and get to the places you need to be. This sort of ticks the boxes but could be better. The room is cleaned daily though. My little cow liked it.

Last drinks at 8:30, closes at 9:00 on a weekend? Look forward to renovations. Tasty craft beers on tap, food decent but somewhat basic. Music is a classic pub playlist. Decor is homely but dated, service is mixed, depending on who you get. Again, look forward to renovations Will be good in the future

Have been here a few times over the years, I used to love it! Went today & so disappointed! Not much of a choice & what they did have the trays were empty! & what wasn’t empty wasn’t too tasty… I understand they were busy but hire more kitchen staff to keep up!

Buffet wasn't on which we weren't made aware of when we booked our table of 20. A lot of the menu was missing too because we were there over new years period and I guess it was minimal staff and stock. The steak was amazing! The other food seemed ok but I think steak was well worth the price (it was steak night) The whole place could really use some brightening up from paint, updated decor to new carpets, it all looks very dark, old fashioned and tired.

Good pub food at a reasonable price. The all you can eat part seemed to go off at lunch time on a Friday. And the sports bar was good lots of space and a pool table.

As always great food. So nice to see the usual considerate staff. Wins me over when you go there and they retain the staff. Not much turnover.

Been coming here regularly with my sister the past few months for the buffet as we have 5 young children between us, 4 of which are 2 and under. With the playground and low buffet prices it was an affordable and family friendly place to have lunch or dinner. We have never been charged once for our 4 younger children (two 2 years and two 1 year olds) until today when they wanted us to pay $16 for each child. When asked why when we've never had to pay before they said they changed things. I understand paying something, but $16 for children under 4 is absolutely ridiculous. $16 for a one year old. Even sizzler wasn't that much of a rip off. Maybe scale your pricing to reflect ages of children. Just a suggestion.

Have been coming here for years and it has always been great food and service. Come tonight for my daughters birthday and omg it was so bad. I ordered the buffet which was half empty, the food was stone cold and there was absolutely no variety and tasted terrible. The other people with us that ordered a meal had to wait at least 40 minutes to 1 1/2 to get their food. Very disappointing and definitely not worth the $30 I paid for it.

Very average, food very ordinary and staff overly not that impressed to be working there. Not the most inviting atmosphere.

👍 Nice venue but nothing too spectacular either. Was busy on a Sunday morning and staff did well to accommodate everyone. We had one of the specials, fried chicken and rice bowl, and eggs on toast. Both were what you expected. Had a cascara iced tea, also nothing too special. Service was fast and frie...

👍👍 DEFINITELY stop by this place on your way to/from Bunnings, or go there just for the food! Whatever you choose it'll be good as it's all delicious. Bao buns, baguettes (better than Subway), desserts, pies, burgers, etc. I'm a burger connoisseur and these are certainly great! 10/10, highly recommend!

👍👍 I visited this place because me and my partner have been meaning to try it for a while and finally decided to try it. We are sure glad we did.
