Not worth the price. The room is very basic, there is no heater in the bathroom, water pressure is bad, the basin tap outlet is so low, there is no place to hang towel and clothes for after bath??? The estate is beautiful, the lobby is impressive but they have totally disregard the room design and comfort. It is not quiet as we get the planes fly through at quite loud

Spent 3 nights at The Colony for a romantic getaway to the Swan Valley with my hubby. While overall we enjoyed our experience there were a few annoyances we hope Mandoon will address. On the positive side the location is great! Easy access to wineries and close to the quaint town of Guildford. Love having dining options "on-site" and within walking distance with the Brewery and upscale Wild Swan. The rooms are modern and fresh and the balcony overlooking the river a welcome spot for a morning cuppa. Housekeeping caused our only issues. The room was never swept during our stay and with two days of rain the floor can get dirty. I finally spot wiped and we wore slippers inside. The water bottles and coffee pods with milk were not replenished until we called and requested it. Ironically the comp toiletries were replenished 3 times even though we didn't use them. Finally the shower leaked onto the bathroom floor...a lot. Basic drain clearance would have fixed it. My advice is take the term "luxury" loosely, note housekeeping needs to step up and don't pay "rack" rates on the room. The grounds and staff are lovely and you'll enjoy your stay more if you temper expectations.

Not worth even close to what you pay. Rooms are ok, but no breakfast inclusion, check in closes at 6pm, internet isn't fast enough to watch Netflix, yet they're charging over 300 a night. Do yourself a favour, check into a hotel in town and save yourself 100 a night, get better room, better service, breakfast and you'll have enough change to rent a car each day and drive to swan or anywhere else you like.

We booked for one night to celebrate our anniversary at the Colony. Unfortunately we can only offer no more than a single star. We did enjoy the fine dining at Wild Swan restaurant and wonderful staff there. However, the main reason behind our low rating is also our terrible sleep. There is absolute no sound proof in the room, and the next is having a huge party and karaoke night (gosh must be more than 7-8 people shouting there in a small hotel room. The noise was started from 6pm and we couldn't sleep until after 11pm. After making this known to late shift duty manager and again to the staff in reception at checkout, we received an acknowledgment of the report but nothing further. The night shift manager even said over the phone to me that it is legal to make party noise until about 12 midnight during weekend (I'm not on a residential site but a hotel?!) What he did is called the room which was making noise and notify our compliant to that room. I think for the price we paid is far beyond reasonable, we should be entitled to a quite sleep and comfy stay at least?! Very disappointed with the lack of empathy shown by staff and what were they thinking to resolve the issue instead of reading out terms and conditions? Would strongly advise the hotel to re-install a proper sound-proof wall in between each room.

Beautiful location in Swan Valley region at the Mandoon Estate. Love the scenery during our 2 nights stay. Serenity from balcony. Great get-away, picturesque vineyard, and relaxing atmosphere.

I first stayed at The Colony when I attended a three day work event, so it came to mind as an excellent local option for a quick getaway to celebrate our wedding anniversary. And it did not disappoint. Beautifully appointed room and bathroom with comfortable bed and quality linen. We were on an upper floor with a balcony overlooking the grassed area down to the river - quiet and relaxing for some bubbles before dinner at the amazing Wild Swan restaurant (and if you're lucky, you'll spot a roo or two!). We were slightly delayed in our arrival and the desk staff were exceptionally helpful in accommodating our later than expected timing. A delightful staycation in the Swan Valley, particularly if you want to enjoy a meal and a few drinks without having to drive or cab/ride share.

4.5/5 Great food, Great Service, Beautiful and clean facilities and a lovely area. Reasons for losing .5 of a mark - the advertised free wifi is patchy at best. we could get it to work for maybe 1min consecutively... ended up just using phone data instead and we would have liked some form of sponge for cleaning our Mugs between drinks (only because we felt bad using beautiful white towels)

Had an amazing stay at the Colony. The staff at the lawn and in the restaurant were so friendly and helpful, they made it a wonderful stay. I will certainly be back for the in-house brewed Kaiser's choice.

Stayed one night, the staff kindly upgraded our room. For a small hotel the rooms are pretty modern and aesthetic with good views of the vineyard and river. For the price we paid I'm pretty impressed with this hotel.

This is the best place I have ever stayed in WA, and I’m a regular business traveler to Perth. Amazingly beautiful vineyard, very modern room, great restaurants and wine tasting on site. It’s so close to all the attractions (chocolate factory, other wineries)This will be my number one choice whenever I come to Perth.

Clean and spacious rooms. Excellent view of the vineyards from the front door and the bush river out the back. Only downside was check in time was restricted.

Great value and location for the price. You’re staying in a peaceful vineyard, with cellar door, brewery and three meals a day just steps away. You can walk a few hundred metres to the edge of the Swan River, or to Sandalford on the adjacent property. Clean, modern, and a free bottle of wine as well. 15-20 minute drive to other wineries, breweries, Coles, and Perth Airport if you’re starting or finishing your journey.

Unfortunately my husband and I would not rate our stay at The Colony more than a single star. We did enjoy the nice breakfast at the brewery and the facilities were modern and clean. However, the main reason behind our low rating is our terrible sleep. The bed we had was almost as hard as the concrete floors (not exaggerating). We both woke with aching and sore backs. After making this known to staff and again to reception at checkout, we received a simple apology but nothing further. I think for the price tag we should be entitled to (at least) a comfortable sleep. Very disappointed with the lack of empathy shown by staff and complete lack to resolve our complaints. Would strongly advise investing in a proper mattress or at least making the ‘comfort’ level known prior to a guests stay.

The mandoon restaurants are great and the location is very convenient but the colony accommodation is very underwhelming. The bed is rock hard. The air conditioner has a ‘money saving’ remote with pseudo temp readings (which in essence means you can’t set it to the temperature you’re comfortable with) and there’s tiny led lights all through the room, so it’s quite bright. I’d only stay out of desperation but don’t count on a good sleep.

We stayed for our anniversary after dinner at the Wild Swan and our executive suite was lovely. Clean, modern room with a nice view, we'll definitely be back.

A cute place to stay. Walking distance from the beer garden and onsite restaurants which was great. Parking was limited for the rooms, numbered parking would be better. Floors were not swept between days, they got quite dusty/dirty from walking in and out. Constant loud dripping noise from the exterior gutters, same issue with other guests on the same nights.

An amazing room. We stayed for 2 nights and it did not dissappoint. TV was loaded with tons of free movies, nice bedding and bathroom. Really liked how the outside area led straight out to the beautiful surroundings. Loved it!

We stayed after a wedding at the Colony, the room was modern but small. Very simple bed and bathroom for the price paid. TV did not work and very noisy adjoining rooms and above. Overall quite overpriced for the stay.

Stayed at the colony after a work function at Mandoon. Rooms are modern, clean and comfortable. Plenty of room. The swan river view from balcony is nice. Quiet. Would have been nice to have some seating out on the lawn but I guess it may take away the privacy for those staying. Breakfast was yummy though not included in our stay. Thankyou.

We attended a wedding at Sandalford next door and you can walk between the properties. We had upstairs loft apartment which was beautiful all the modern comforts you would need, only regret was we didn't get enough time to spend in the room. Will definitely be back.
