The
main
attraction
of
the
function
room
at
The
Ellington
is
to
enjoy
the
show,
so
it
was
really
disappointing
that
the
staff
couldn't
get
the
AV
system
working.
We
didn't
get
to
see
or
hear
the
band
that
was
playing
apart
from
some
muffled
bass
coming
from
downstairs.
We
kept
asking
when
they'll
have
it
working,
they
would
answer
"soon"
but
then
just
ignored
us
when
we
asked
for
updates.
During
the
intermission
I
went
downstairs
to
find
the
manager
who
admitted
it
hadn't
been
working
for
a
few
months.
Basically
I
was
mislead
in
order
to
secure
a
booking
so
they
wouldn't
lose
a
sale.
We
had
pre-ordered
food
which
came
out
late.
Extra
food
that
we
ordered
was
arriving
sooner
so
I
think
they
had
actually
forgotten
about
it.
The
serving
sizes
were
pitiful
for
the
amount
paid.
There's
a
good
range
of
cocktails
on
the
menu
but
many
were
not
available
as
they
didn't
have
the
ingredients
to
make
them.
The
soft
drinks
were
flat
and
warm.
I
asked
the
manager
if
they
could
compensate
us
by
discounting
the
bill
but
she
was
dismissive
of
my
complaint
and
wouldn't
even
give
this
small
gesture
of
good-will.
I'm
astounded
that
a
music
venue
can't
get
an
AV
system
working
or
even
restock
the
bar.
It's
so
disappointing
to
see
this
once
wonderful
club
ruined
by
such
poor
management.
I've
been
a
regular
patron
of
The
Ellington
for
many
years
but
after
this
experience
I
won't
be
going
back.
