I went for the bottomless Sangria Lunch and it was amazing. We feasted on tapas for the full two hours with food being brought to the table slowly throughout the lunch sitting which was very well timed. Food was delicious and I couldn't fault it. The drinks were delicious, we had both mimosa and sangria. The wait staff made sure we always had a drink in hand and were very prompt with their service. Which is the whole point of a bottomless lunch, so that was great. The service was warm and friendly. They made the day very enjoyable. If you are looking for a bottomless brunch in Perth, I would definitely recommend over other places such as The Garden where we paid $65 and were barely served any drinks throughout the two hour sitting.

This place is so lively and the food and sangria is great. It's a nice little spot to come with friends and family and just chill. We had watermelon sangria with tapas. It was great, the service was great too, the sangria jug was never empty. 👌

I dined in with 5 other people and the service was horrible. All the hot food was cold and it took 2 hours and we are still waiting for dessert. I work in the hospitality industry and we would get dismissed if we perform like this.

Casual atmosphere and spanish / cuban food served tapas style. Service was s little slow and it was hard to get the attention of wait staff. I was told the food will not come out together but instead will come out when it's ready... which is fine but it would seem my grilled octopus took longer to cook than my medium sirloin steak!

Without a doubt the worst service I have ever had, I came here and was told I couldn’t order a drink at the bar because it was table service. That’s fine, but after 20 min of sitting at a table and no one coming to ask if wanted anything and also people that came in 10 min after being being served I was not impressed. I then gave the place a second chance as I was staying at the intercontinental and it’s downstairs. Second time I was told I could Not sit outside, despite the fact that only 1 of the tables was occupied (it was 8:30 at night) the place was near empty. Also the espresso martini was terrible !

Non existent service!!! We had a booking for only 2 hours and 2 hours went bar and half the set menu hadn’t even been delivered. Everything took ages to arrive and was cold on arrival. It took 40 minutes just to bring out olives!!!

Great Spanish food, located at the base of a hotel. Unfortunately the Perth CBD is pretty dead and quiet, we were facing an empty building and a big 'For Lease' sign so atmosphere could be better but staff were super friendly and the food was generous, tasty and great value.

I walk past this restaurant relatively often and been quite attracted by the atmosphere and relaxed vibe there, hence decided to go there with several colleagues for lunch. Actually went there on a Monday and was a bit disappointed with the food quality and service. Was told again that we were meant to do the fixed menu (as there were more than 8 people, take note, not mentioned anywhere on Google.) There was only 2 other tables with us and the service was very slow took us 1.5 hours for the entire lunch. To be fair to Heno and Hay, some food was awesome, especially the raciones, the steak (flat iron steak), the chicken (rey Pollo) and the prawns (flash fried prawns) and the Chorizo. The meatballs (Albondigas) were also not too bad.

Really nice. I was there for lunch and the lunch specials were decent. I had the marinated chicken thigh which was delicious. I think this place will really come into its own at dinner. The tapas selection looked pretty good and it looked like it belonged in an evening setting. Having said that it was a pleasant lunch with a glass of chardonnay.

Had a lovely meal, before the opera last night. Food was delicious. Standouts were the yellow fin tuna tartare and patatas bravas. We ordered plenty of food for 2 people. Service was excellent, food came out promptly. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

This is not a place for families that eat unless you want to spend $74 a head + drinks. It is a place to have tapas.. a small plate of food and a drink. Some dishes were FANTASTIC, some ok. All however served in exceptionally small dishes - I was so disappointed. While the staff were lovely... We did have to ask for our drinks twice and one of our dishes... We actually almost ate everything before all our drinks came out (we had 7 dishes to share)... AND we ate 1 dish on it's own, it was forgotten and we had to ask for it again. Other than a sorry, there was no other offer. We could have asked. Some were in such small dishes I felt embarrassed for the place and I felt embarrassed in front of my family for taking them there. Bad choice on my behalf, just wanted something nice for my son's 20th birthday. WE have had Tapas before in many places and usually 7 dishes are plenty. Sad this did not work out for us.

Busy place but great food and service. Was super fast considering we were to attend a show after our booking. Menu can be a little confusing so perhaps changing up the descriptions a bit might make it a little easier to understand. Overall a lovely dining experience.

Don't waste your money. Service is absolutely dreadful, food is average and the prices are expensive. Seems we weren't the only ones who had a bad experience on a Friday night before seeing a show at the arena. We were literally ignored throughout the whole visit, even when we got up to speak to someone to ask them to please take our order - the staff walked past us as if we were invisible. This place needs a serious shake up - it's attached to a five star hotel. Also, little note to staff, if you are asked for a blanket (as the heaters don't work) don't reply with ' you don't really need one' Won't be back!

Went for the sangria lunch few months ago and totally loved it. Excellent paella on the weekdays as well and great grill section with prawns and others. Wish they could open again soon :(

Disappointed with the dining experience. Despite a quiet venue, service was painfully slow. Waited 15 minutes to be served AND we still had to request service since we weren't noticed. First dish arrived 10 minutes later, still no drinks or water. Service between plates dragged on; waited 30 minutes for the last 3 dishes that never arrived. Ended up requesting dessert and the last 2 to go. Kudos to the kitchen for the good food, but at $76 per person, expected better service. Waitress was friendly and apologized, but the three managers floating around seemed more preocupied with secondary tasks (setting up tables and polishing glasses) than managing table service. I can see by the reviews that this is not the first time that this happens.

Great vibe especially on an early summer evening, beautiful and breezy and a buzz with patrons. The service excellent and the menu has a great selection of tapas and cold cuts. Cheese was excellent as were the vegetables, only down side is the limited and frankly poor selection of almost exclusively European wines. The one that was suggested for me was undrinkable, partly due to being open for days....you can fool anyone with that trick. Such a disappointment.

Food was great & so were the drinks & location. Management only had one chef and one server on duty and they were completely overwhelmed even though they did there best. It was opening night at His Majesty's right across the street so the place was packed. It was the perfect example of how appallingly bad perth hospitality has become. Its literally the hotel intercontinental. Zero excuse for providing bad service. Please do better at providing basic, efficient service

Perfect for both after work drinks on weekdays or lazy afternoons on weekends. It can get busy real quick, so call before you go, especially for a bigger group

Wonderful! Twice in a single fortnight and only because the restaurant is fantastic and worth revisits. A great hustling and bustling vibe are complimented by an excellent wine selection and a broad range of tapas. The quality of the ingredients used is sublime, with particular reference to the Jamon and Manchego cheese. Staff add to the vibe and fun of Heno & Rey.

Most underrated Spanish Tapas Bar in Perth. Located in Intercontinental Hotel and not sure this restaurant never pop up in Google whenever I search best restaurant in perth or restaurant around me eventho I’m just around city. I realised this place just because I walk passed before work. Anyway, I ordered Croqueta which I absolutely love it. The best patata bravas in town!!! Must try! Usually i’m not a big fan of patata brava cause is too oily and greasy. Also I ordered their Main Snapper with Chickpea and Spinach on the bottom and definitely love it! Tried their Flat Iron Steak also quiet nice. Their churros should be improve a bit more. Love the texture, but i prefer Churros with Dipping sauce on side tbh. The Sangria need improvement. Not the best sangria. But will come back cause I love the fantastic and memorable service! Thanks Heno and Rey. Keep the good work 😍

One of the biggest disappointments in recent memory, in both food and service. A shame too as this was one of the first places my partner and I went to after our engagement several years ago and we had a great time. Thought it would be a nice idea to return for a Valentine’s Day date and wow were we wrong. We were laughing by the end of the night because of how ridiculous the evening played out. First, the host could not find our reservation, despite it being on the front page of his clipboard. Instead of double checking, he shifted blame to us and asked if we had made the reservation last minute. He then sat us, without menus or water, and walked away. We sat un-acknowledged for far too long before I finally got up and walked over and asked if we could have menus to look at. Our server came over and we placed our drink order, and about 10 minutes later she came back and said they had to get one of the drinks from storage and asked if we wanted the other one now or wanted to wait. I asked to wait and we’d have them together. As soon as she walked away they brought my drink over and my partner sat and waited. Then they brought the other drink to a different table. When the food came out, the first dish was incorrect, the second dish was sent to a table around us and sent back before finally making its way back to us. The third dish was sent to another table around us as well and by then we were almost amused by all the mix ups and mess ups. The food itself was incredibly disappointing and not at all like we remembered. The only enjoyable part was my glass of sparkling. The lady that settled our bill at the bar was snappy and rude, and we left agreeing that we will never return. We had an early booking, there were plenty of open tables and staff, but they just couldn’t seem to get sorted.

Disappointing trip for us. The place smells incredible and has a great vibe however it quickly became apparent we booked in for dinner at the wrong time. There is a theatre next door, and the place was completely packed. As we booked this wasn't a major issue, however I do recommend booking to avoid not getting a seat. (I should note that it completely cleared up about 30 mins into our trip). However, unfortunately after an hour of waiting we'd only received our entree. By this point (7:30 on a Thursday) the place was fairly empty. I asked the waitress about the status of our order and she went to check, but she never came back. 10 minutes later we'd been there almost an hour and a half with no update so we went to settle the bill and leave. I should note that the waitress was holding a dish as we went to pay/leave. That may have been ours, I am unsure. As she didn't say anything about it we paid and left. We will probably try it again because it looks great, however there are lots of other amazing places in the city so I have to rate this low based on our experience. Hopefully next time we go we have a better time. Total came to $55 for a litre of sangria and the entree prawns. Not cheap but probably fairly priced based on the location and quality.

Fantastic food. Very accommodating when our number of guests increased once seated. I would recommend and more importantly I would return again. Service excellent. Food delicious. Thank you for a lovely evening.

Customer service is extremely bad. We had a 2 hour booking and by the time was up we hadn’t had all our food. The table wasn’t cleared during the meal, we had to chase up drinks all night. The staff were friendly, however the service was just incredibly slow.

Very polite, friendly staff. Our table and the table beside us both received our first dish after 30 min but had to ask for the rest of our food after an hour of waiting. Food way okay quality.

Had Ortiz anchovies paired with a nice and less well-known Spanish wine. Very friendly chef. Great atmosphere for thinking and working.

Could not BELIEVE the lack of table service here. Went on a Tuesday, 3 girls on service, not busy, and had to physically go to the counter or flag one down to get a cocktail. Food was delicious, girls were friendly but this was definitely a put off, they should be coming by regularly to take drink orders.
