Aweseome pizza/pasta here! Great service! We ordered the squid ink pasta and lamb shank pasta. Both tasted amazing. Very generous serving size and freshly cooked food came out relatively quick. We also ordered the truffle fries and enjoyed that. Service was great even thou they are understaffed. The waiter for our section said she had a sore foot til to the point she barely couldn't walk but still came in and served us (10/10 service)

Absolutely appalling, rude service. We were told there would be a half hour wait and put on a wait list. An hour later people that were behind us is the line and added to the wait list had already been seated, we were then told there would be a huge delay, no one called to let us know. Staff were rude. Will never return, il ciao and ciao italia still offer the best Italian and actual customer service. Dont waste your time supporting rude arrogant businesses

Everything about this place - from the food, to the river views and staff - was beautiful! We managed to get here 5 minutes before their kitchen closed (due to finishing work incredibly late) and were very grateful that we made it! We really enjoyed the delicious squid ink spaghettini with blue swimmer crab and fungi truffle pizza, as well as the stunning river views from our outdoor table. Between 2 girls, we managed to polish off all the food, and still had room for their tiramisu! The staff were very friendly too. I will AUTOMATIC-ally be recommending this place to friends for a fab Italian meal from now on!

Staff were very friendly and very switched on. Service is impeccable. Food didn’t take long to be served, good serving portion and definitely my favourite tiramisu. I would definitely recommend coming here again😍

This little spot on Mends St South Perth. Its amazing I'll be back for the pasta menu. I ordered the mushroom bruschetta. It was everything I imagined it to be. Pesto and pine nuts with the pecorino cheese was a party in my mouth. Coffee was delicious brewed perfectly no bitterness. Almond milk was creamy. Great service all round, ambience was very laid back with good views of the Swan facing north. Well priced. Will be back again no doubt! Only complaint was no butter on my toast.

Went during lunch, service staff informed us that due to staff shortage there will be 20mins waiting time. There were only 2 service staff but we didn’t felt the service took too long. It was prompt enough. When the food arrived, boy were we delighted with the pappardelle and the capricciosa pizza we ordered. Pappardelle was absolutely delicious with the fresh pasta and amazing sauce of mushrooms and duck. Capricciosa pizza with leg ham and artichokes was also great! Service was not overly warm but friendly enough. The guy wearing a gucci belt and a rolex serving you the food is just so cool and makes you know your food is served by an Italian. Love this place; trust the vibes at night is even better!

We were a group of vegetarians and a vegan. The vegetarians were happy with the choices available and the staff worked with the vegan to create something good. All our food was absolutely delicious! We all ate pasta, but the pizza looked and smelt amazing. We'll have to go back for that! Our waitperson was delightful and really helped to make a special occasion more special. One word of caution: share the profiteroles - the serve is huge, but delicious!!

Great Italian cuisine good service and reasonably priced. A warm friendly atmosphere with a decent variety of dishes. It's pretty busy so we did have quite a long wait for the meals.

Duck Papadelle was AMAZING 👌 Def recommend going, just to experience the taste sensation within that dish! We had Arancini balls to begin with - They were ok... Handmade fresh pasta is a winner in my book every day of the week 🍝

Lovely setting. The staff were fantastic, so helpful, welcoming and entertaining. The food of great quality. It did lack seasoning however everything was fresh and made with skill. The fungi pizza was a highlight. Will be back.

Today I had the avocado bruschetta, absolutely amazing flavours! As you can see I cleaned my plate up😋 I ordered my usual dirty chia with almond milk, I took one sip and knew straight away it was full cream milk🤢. For that, a star was lost👎🏽 because I clearly ordered almond milk! Otherwise, staff were friendly and the spot had great vibes all round. Definitely recommended for a tasty breaky!

Went for dinner with some friends and their daughter. Great food and atmosphere. It gets a bit loud in there which shows its popularity. Staff were friendly and good service. Large drink list plus menu. We will be going back just for pizza as we were too full to fit it in. We ordered the Spaghetti Marinara with white sauce which tasted light and full of seafood, the lamb shank was massive and could fill 2 people with a rich sauce. Our friend loved the barramundi and mushroom pasta. We will be back again for sure and will recommend

The ambiance is lively, with the patrons appearing to enjoy the music and food. Given free reign to choose my seating with my date, I choose the back of the restaurant that has plain black seat on one side, and a cushioned long seat on the other with the wooden wall as the backing. The menu appears to have vast choices suitable for all ages and food needs. They also have a side section of which shows what food is marked with gluten free, vegetarian, contains nuts, vegan or dairy free. Business hours are listed as Wednesday to Thursday 5:30-10pm, Friday to Saturday 5:30 to 11pm and Sunday 5pm to 9pm. The drinks menu offers a large section of cocktails, beer and cider, sparkling, rose, white, red, then your regular juices, soft drinks and sweet wines. My first interaction with a server aside from being given choice on where to eat was being offered tap water or sparkling. Once my date arrived, we ordered an entree of prosciutto that was brought out fairly quickly and was, as to be expected delicious. Next we ordered our mains which was 2 of their pizzas, the carnivora and the funghi. They unfortunately weren’t really great pizzas, as they weren’t very hot and the base was soggy and not cooked through. The sauce also left something to be desired. This was a shame as the place seemed to be very popular and packed and has many great reviews, but with the mains being so poorly cooked I doubt we will come back again. Upon paying they asked if everything was alright and they informed me after I told them about the soggy pizzas they would left the chef know, and that was all they did. Due to the ambiance and friendly staff, that was at least worth the 3 out of 5 stars I’m giving them, the food is why they aren’t getting more.

It's okay. My parpadelle was a bit salty and the dishes are a bit oily and creamy. Tables are too close together Place was a bit crowded and I could practically share the food of the next table. Can't fault the service though.

Busy place yet the staff are all very warm and friendly. Pappardelle confit duck was ok, our fave was the beef carpaccio.

My girlfriends and I reserved this restaurant over the weekend for dinner. It was absolutely delicious! The squid ink pasta was to die for and the mushroom truffle pizza was divine!! We ended up ordering the lemon cake and tiramisu for dessert which was a great way to finish the night! The staff were friendly and attentive! Highly recommend it!

Friendly and helpful staff. Tap beer is a plus. Food was good - there was a very generous portion of garlic in the Spaghetti, such that it was a bit overwhelming. The lamb cutlets were very nice, as was the tiramisu. Recommended!

I've been here 2 times (lunch and dinner). Portions are huge, so be ready to eat a lot of delicious italian food. Good price overall. The place is nice and cozy, but can be very noisy when is crowded. 100% recommended 😉

We stopped by for a sneaky pint and pizza because I've heard great things about Automatic. Meh. The location is great, we snagged good parking right out the front and all was shaping up for a splendid experience. The wine selection was awesome whilst the beer range was weak. The food choices were overwhelming but since we don't eat meat, nor do we eat much, we settled on sharing the fungi pizza. $30! Nevertheless, the description left me salivating what with the smattering of mushrooms, cheese and a drizzle of truffle oil. My favourite! It came out quickly and really looked the part. Good size, good coverage, lame taste. It really was lacking. Nothing rich, nothing sharp, just, just average. Like flat beer. Better than nothing but nowhere near as good as something you'd easily knock up at home. Perhaps other options on the menu are more in keeping with their cost.

Friendly and efficient staff with a good knowledge of the food on offer.. ordered the Lamb Shanks with Mash, and my partner ordered the Marinara, and both meals were amazing and decent size portion. Very happy with everything this place is and offers. Would recommend to anyone looking at an Italian restaurant or even any restaurant.

I really enjoyed everything I had at this restaurant! The staff are very friendly every time we come and the food is just brilliant! Their Linguine Ai Gamberi is absolutely amazing!!

Food was absolutely beautiful... BUT it came out to us a little too quickly and luke warm as if it was sitting in the kitchen for a while, and portion sizes were very mean, I'd say about kids size but even that is a bit generous. Could have eaten two mains it was that small, and for the price it's ridiculous. I'll only come back here again if we get our food fresh and hot, and if the portion size improves. If you have a stomach the size of a grain of rice, this place is for you. Otherwise, don't waste $26 for 6 pieces of gnocchi and a splatter of sauce.

Fabulous food and great staff. For the extra star the plates could be heated so the pasta is warmer when it arrives at the table and as it was too noisy for our table of 4 to hear each other, perhaps the acoustics in the restaurant could be looked at? Overall, the food was great (pizza, paparelle and risotto), location was great and we will definitely go back and look for the extra 🌟!

Last night my partner & I had Dinner @ this restaurant and we enjoyed the food & service was quick considering it was our first time there. Possibility we could come back for another lovely evening.

Went back with friends for a second visit, was a bit disappointed, one of our pasta dishes had to be sent back because it was raw. It was replaced and then it was fine. The pizza was over topped. When there is so much prusetto on the pizze it doesn't need so much more salty parmesan on it. It lost a star in my book. Won't be back, expect better from a main street restaurant with main street prices. We had a nice dinner, our piazza was very nice however they were too generous with the parmesan cheese on it making the pizza a bit too salty for my taste, considering the prusetto was salty enough. The quid ink pasta was very flavourful and so was the octopus starter. Portion was a bit small to share so I'd recommend one serve each. They were accommodation to our child which was also nice. The service was prompt and attentive.

Coffee is great. Stuff are really nice. Toilets are clean. We cannot taste the food because kitchen it was already closed but highly recommended for coffee and drinks.

My friends and I grabbed take away pizzas and three side dishes from here the other night. We ordered the truffle fries, arancini and side of greens. The food was delicious and I would happily go back and eat in the restaurant next time. The pizza bases were just how I like them. Not too thick, not too thin. Great location on Mend Street where you can enjoy a walk down to the jetty after dinner.

Poached Eggs on GF toast (arrived with no butter) and the disaster of a serving of Pork & Fennel sausage meat you see on the plate they have the audacity to charge $5 for.. the picture says it all - I stopped eating after a few mouthfuls because I was so disappointed 😥

Updated review - I ordered the spanner crab pasta and it was very disappointing. For $30, it was very not worth it, tasted like food court pasta. The pizzas are nice and crispy (they do cut it quite big though, so if you’re sharing with a few people you can request to have it cut smaller). The only downside is that the tiramisu was quite dry, the sponge was not soaked ... it tasted good but just dry. Would be coming back for more.

Sorry ladies n gentlemen, i disagree with all those of you who rated Automatic a 5 star. Visited there for a birthday party, ordered Pappardelle and was very salty, so does the Spaghettini, even though we ordered the linguine upgrade. The margherita pizza was a complete disaster, the dough was not right, the cheese were barely can be seen and the tiramisu seemed like missing the coffee flavour of it. The white wine also taste a bit off. The only one thats good was just the Cotoletta. Maybe this was just us, but they shall take care ALL customers, not just 95% of all.

Friendly and comfortable. Only had a cuppa but it had a great atmosphere.

This place has such delicious sweet treats that I haven’t seen anywhere else in Perth. Service is super friendly and the coffees are the best!

We had lunch at Automatic. Its ambience made us feel like in Italy. Food is very tasty. Gregorlo gave us good recommendation on dishes to order, and paired them with good wine. The gelato is good, too. We will visit this restaurant once a week if we live in Perth.
