First โญ great location, in the heart off the once vibrant subiaco, not far from the subiaco train station on the corner of Rokeby and Hay. Second โญ service was accommodating and with a smile. They offered to make things right free of charge, which is a step up for Australia. Third โญ food, although not what it used to be, tasty all the same. It is better then the majority of Indian out there and certainly worth the trip. When I see chilly I expect it to be hot, ๐Ÿ”ฅ I understood Australians might not be used to chili ๐ŸŒถ๏ธ but they should offer levels of heat to the customer Loss of 2 โญ s for the over all dining experience, maybe some Indian music, dimmer lighting, the table clothes were a nice as on. Cleaner toilets, and fix up the place a bit.

Order chicken biryani. Spicy as order. Pack of flavours. Good balance of spices mixed with fluffy rice and tender chiken pieces. Generous food portions too. Came for lunch, made my tummy full and satisfied

It's a nice place with authentic Indian food. Loved the variety on the menu. The staff were accommodating of us without a reservation. The only reason for 4 stars is we were constantly asked to order in frequent intervals. I do plan to visit again as my overall experience was pleasant.

Went in was taken to table after waiting 15 min went back to counter then 2 minutes later was brought menu plate and cutlery. ( as you can see from pictures wasn't even busy) Ordered 3 dishes and took 27 minutes to come out. Ordered goat curry $23.50 and was 95% bones with only 5% meat and was extremely disappointed and would highly recommend NOT getting this !! I would highly recommend not going here other dishes were average bordering on disappointing.

Exceptional taste and flavour! Explosion of spices aroma! Been to many Indian restaurants but this one definitely stands out with their food. The atmosphere and ambience were also lovely. Not too many people, not too loud music. The service was very nice but it took ages (and namely 45 minutes) for our order to arrive. There were only 2 tables occupied so we wonder why it took so long. The parking may become a problem as the number of slots is very limited. Otherwise it's been a great experience.

The food was absolutely delicious. We had the mixed meat share plate, butter chicken, rice and naan. Best Indian Iโ€™ve had in a long time

Good curry. We had the butter chicken and chicken tikka Marsala as well as the paneer starter which was delicious. The venue was very cold for winter and we were told as we were seated that the prices had been increased which wasnโ€™t ideal. Food was good in general though.

Tasty dishes at a reasonable price. Mango Lassi was rather enjoyable and refreshing. We selected one of the Banquets for 4 and that too turned out to be better than expected. Meat and vegetable dishes, not very spicy but full of taste. All served with Papadams, Pickles and Onion Salad (Kachumber). Finished off with Pista Kulfi, which tasted as good as it looked. Worth visiting again.

Went here for a dine in dinner. The service was great, the food however was average. The entrees were a bit average, naan breads were ok, the garlic one was far too much garlic. We had the prawn lababadar curry which tasted quite good but I think it gave me a good dose of food poisoningโ€ฆโ€ฆ. If I didnโ€™t get Delhi belly, I still donโ€™t think Iโ€™d try again unfortunately.

Came with a group of 7. Ordered some entrees and got the banquet for 4. (The other 3 people ordered separate dishes) The food was pretty good when it came out, but just took far too long... There were about 4 tables with people so it didn't look like a busy night, perhaps understaffed in the kitchen that night? Entrees took about 25 minutes, then main came out 1 hour after, the naan came out 15 minutes after that (very strange that it did not come out with the curry), then our refills on the naan also took about another 20 minutes... (to be fair, the refill naan came out very hot and fresh). Those numbers are no exaggeration, it was pretty disappointing. We were offered water to begin with, but were never offered refills and had to ask staff for more each time. We were also charged for the naan that we ordered as an entree even though we got the banquet (refills are free), we probably could have clarified this with them if we wanted to so I wouldn't put this fault on the restaurant. Taking service out of the equation, the goat curry was probably our favourite, and the other curries were also pretty tasty, (we were also starving though ๐Ÿ˜…). Overall a pretty disappointing experience, it was a little difficult to enjoy the food when we're kept waiting for so long.

Not worth the price. $5 per plate is what I would pay. Absolutely trash burnt zero flavor bread. Meat dish 60% water and less than half meat. Barely full container. Steamed Rice was okay so gave an extra star for that. Delivery bag wasn't sealed. Just not a good effort and it shows. Not happy paying nearly 50 bucks for one meal that's horrifically sub standard.

We came for lunch here and enjoyed the restaurant decor. Service was friendly and polite. We had chicken madras, allo gobi and brinjal bhaji which were all excellent and delicious. The naan was very good too. An excellent place for a delicious and authentic Indian meal.

The place has an eclectic and trendy feel and I had heard great things about this place before coming here. We were a little late for our booking and the entry was swamped as it appeared several other people had chosen the same place for a reservations for after the show across the road at the Regal theatre. Service and first order took awhile because of this, but is understandable because of the influx of people at the time of booking. The smell in the place is amazing, and filled with the murmur of happy chatty dinners. The tables, be them attractive looking, tidy and clean, didn't have the most comfortable of chairs, so I guess it's so you don't settle in for the night. And now to the food- the entree -chutney Mary vege platter. Firstly the Paneer is gorgeous and silky, the touches off deep fried okra was fantastic and a great complimentary flavour. And the vegetables were flavoursome. The samosa was rich and had the right amount of spice. I usually judge Indian restaurants by their onion bhajis, on this occasion they weren't the pinnacle of the chutney Mary vege platter. They would not be a selection I would put on my bill for the next visit. Don't get me wrong the dish as a whole is fantastic. The mains - Kadhai paneer -it had a smokiness about it from the charing of the vegetables and had enough heat that was warmly welcomed. The flavour was rich and complex. A great dish and would highly recommend, my partner loved it. Lamb Rogan Josh - the flavour was Cardomon strong with whole spices to be found, but not excessively. The gravy again was rich and deep with all that a good Rogan Josh should have. I loved it, one of the better ones I've had for sometime. breads- The garlic naans were plentiful and nice and garlic was prominent. They weren't too oily as I have experienced elsewhere. The final say - this is a great restaurant that produces quality Indian meals and located in Subi. I would recommend as a great option if you like Indian cuisine. Price range in the upper bracket, but you get what you pay for. Will be back.

Nice restaurant with great family feeling , old fashioned building surrounded with lots of bars and restaurants, live street and plenty of parking around the restaurant, food really delicious fresh ingredients and authentic traditionally prepared, you donโ€™t need to wait long to be served, very friendly staff and owner also friendly, I ordered chicken Vindaloo, Lamb Rogan Josh with saffron rice. Highly recommend ๐Ÿ™

Beautiful place for dinner, authentic dishes with fresh ingredients. Absolutely delicious dishes with a smashing home recipe cocktail called the Little Taj.

TLDR: Expensive, slow service, mid at best in terms of taste, small servings Not one to normally give 1 star but it was pretty bad. FYI the entire time we were there, the restaurant was only about 25% full, never more. Waited 30 minutes for our entrees to come. They were mid at best, got the garlic naan, keema naan and lamb ki seekh. Garlic naan smells like garlic but there was no garlic taste to it. Keema naan was alright, definitely had spices but whether or not it has lamb? Questionable. Lamb ki seekh was alright, tasted alright but very small and the mint dipping sauce that came with it didn't taste like mint at all. We took about 10 minutes between ordering our entrees and mains, yet it took about 1 hour for our mains to come out. We ordered the Chutney Mary's Special Banquets which came with entrees and mains. The banquet's entree took about 20 minutes to come out, which was an improvement. Chicken tikka was almost tasteless, tender but quite on the tasteless side. Lamb cutlet was the best thing we had that night. The seekh kebab was the same as above. And then the wait for our banquet mains began. We actually had to call one of the waitress to see if our food is still coming, and she said she will check the kitchen. That was about 40 mins since our banquet entrees. Then she came back to take our entree plates and asked if we are ready for our mains, which was weird because we literally just asked if our mains are coming, but we said yes anyway. The most frustrating thing was that, it still took them 15-20 minutes to get our food out even though the waitress asked us if we are ready for our mains, like what is the point of that? Not worth at all. For $55 we got 3 shared entrees and 3 shared mains. They were small. If it weren't because of the fact that we had an extra serving of entrees, we would still be hungry at the end. The only actual good thing on the menu was the mango lassi. But it wasn't enough to make this place worth lmao

Very greasy food, couldn't finish my meal. Garlic naan was so greasy it was slobby. Definitely not worth what you're paying for this food which tastes more like a fast food place with bad rating. I saw an award on the wall from 2020, maybe they've changed the chef since then? Otherwise I don't understand the reviews...

Best curry you can get if you're vegan! I love the garlic naan bread they give to you. Fresh, and hot, tasty from the oven. They have delicious vegan options and those options can leave you feeling full ๐Ÿคค

Amazing food and fast service. Great to go to a restaurant that can cope with both takeaway and dine in without neglecting dine in patrons. Attentive service without being intrusive. Thanks for a wonderful dining experience.

Reading the reviews we were looking forward to some authentic Indian food. Staff friendly and venue clean but thatโ€™s where it ended. Paneer was over cooked and dry. Rogan Josh - small frozen cubes of lamb and tasteless watery sauce. Kadhai chicken ok but nothing special. Sorry but very poor and one of the worst Indian meals weโ€™ve had in a long time.

Very nice samoosas and goat curry. The cheese naan was lovely and full of soft cheese, one of the best around.

My wife has been here a couple of times and really liked it. We got take away last night. The butter chicken was pretty standard, not outstanding, the vegetarian dishes were good, particularly the Bombay potatoes. The garlic naan was tasty but very dense, not light which is how I like it. Overall, it was ok.

Friendly staff...excellent customer service. Chef was able to create dishes without garlic and onion for my guests who had restrictions, without compromising taste. Will definitely recommend and visit again.

Was a great feed, we had a show across the road at 7:00pm and had booked dinner at 5:45pm. We were late to dinner (own fault) and arrived about 6:00pm. They seated us straight away and we had mentioned to the waiter we weโ€™re seeing a show. All staff were super friendly, food came out fast - even on a packed night! All Food was cooked perfectly and tasted amazing. Between 6 of us we all had a different main, entree and Naan bread. No complaints on any item. We also were unable to finish our meals and the staff were kind enough to keep a takeaway box refrigerated until after our show finished. We returned later and took it home. Super happy with our experience !
