Presented with severe abdominal pain due to an already diagnosed miscarriage. 3 hours later was taken in, the dr was extremely condescending and would not listen to me. Was sent for an ultrasound, the tech confirmed no heartbeat and baby was still measuring at the same dates from two weeks prior. Dr told me “I just got my dates wrong and it’s probably early pregnancy despite no heartbeat” when I tried to explain that there was a heart beat two weeks and baby has not grown in that two weeks. She shrugged and said “that she didn’t see it so it didn’t exist and that I was probably seeing my own blood flow” even though I clearly stated the tech showed us. She was not interested or empathetic in any way. Very cold. Told me to go home and manage with Panadol. And to come back when I start bleeding. By her logic and dates, baby would have had to been conceived on the day I got the positive pregnancy test. How very cruel to give a patient false hope all the while totally ignoring them. I was spoken down too and there was not a shred of kindness. All the nurses where wonderful and same with the ultrasound tech. Just this one doctor who was so callous. *UPDATE* I went to the public hospital Fiona Stanley on the Monday and I had to have surgery the following morning. As I was showing signs of infection. They were kind, compassionate and efficient. Nothing like St John of god doctor. So note to that St John doctor. Maybe from now on in, it’s worth listening to your patient and reading the paperwork from her drs…. You could of saved me a weekend in pain and a developing infection if you had only taken the time to listen and review all paperwork.

Why do advertise 24 emergency and send patients to other hospitals when they present? My daughter attended yr emergency department today at 2.30 am as she had severe ear ache only to be referred to Fiona Stanley Hospital where they told her she would need to wait for 6 hours to be attended to. She came home in the end still in severe pain. In the meantime her ear started oozing fluid. Surely you have Drs qualified to at least have a look at the patient. Unbelievable and disappointing

I landed in there on Thursday. I was absolutely got smacked $300 before you even walk in the door to see the doctor and then on top of that all the x-rays and everything you gotta pay on top and then if you’re admitted another $500 is this a murder crime or is this a hospital? We meant to help people why are we paying private health insurance and why are we paying Medibank levies for our work and on top of that paying these fees as private patients what are your directories doing getting pay raises every 5 min….. God said to help others gods never said, rip people off .

My husband needed to have surgery as a Day Stay patient. It would be a 3 year wait at a public hospital or if we paid to go private, he could have the surgery within 2 weeks! Fortunately, we had just enough in savings to cover him going to a private hospital. The care given at SJOG Murdoch was exceptional from start to finish. The money needs to be paid upfront if you are uninsured (my husband is on a Disability Pension) but the treatment received was well worth it.

My name is Alicia Bordes..I had surgery on 11/8/21. I was under the care of Dr Bhandari and his team. I needed to remove a big cyst from my liver which was causing me a lot a pain.Since my first meeting with Dr Bhandari to discuss my options he was patient with me , he answered all of my questions and took his time to explain everything that I needed to know before the procedure until the surgery date. every person that looked after me like Susan,Carmel, Ro, Issy...they were the peoples names I remember. they made feel safe and I was in very good hand..I stayed for one night in the hospital and the attention I received was more than 5 stars..I want to say a big thank you to the whole team that made my experience at St John of God an amazing one..

What superb care my darling 95yr old Dad received in their A&E dept!!!! The Male Nurse, 'Nappy', was so kind, compassionate and approachable and so gentle with my Dad. Thanks to him, I was able to take my Dad home later this afternoon, problem rectified and my Dad in much better spirits too! The triage Nurse was really lovely and the clerk, Julie, was also incredibly kind, calm and compassionate. They are a shining example of what all A&E Department should aspire to! So very grateful! God bless you all. 🙏🏼🕊🙏🏼

My father's surgery at Saint John of God Murdoch Hospital on 24 july 2023. From the moment we arrived at the hospital, we were met with a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Dr. Paul Taylor, an orthopedic surgeon, was assigned to my father's case. From our initial consultation, it was evident that Dr. Taylor possessed an extensive knowledge of his field and had a wealth of experience. He thoroughly explained the surgical procedure and addressed all our concerns, putting our minds at ease. The day of the surgery arrived, and we were amazed by the efficiency and organization displayed by the hospital staff. We were guided to the Saint Rose Ward, where my father would be staying during his recovery. The ward was immaculately clean and modern, providing a comfortable environment for patients. The nurses and support staff were friendly, attentive, and truly cared about their patients' well-being. Throughout my father's stay, we witnessed firsthand the dedication and professionalism of the hospital staff. From the nurses who diligently monitored his vital signs to the physiotherapists who guided him through post-surgical exercises, each member of the team played a crucial role in his recovery. They were always available to answer our questions and provided constant support. Their knowledge and expertise instilled a sense of confidence in us, knowing that my father was in good hands. Not only were the medical professionals exceptional, but the hospital itself also demonstrated a commitment to ensuring the comfort of its patients. The facilities were well-maintained, and the amenities provided a sense of homeliness. We were grateful for the efforts made by the hospital to create a calm and tranquil environment, as it greatly contributed to my father's overall well-being. Looking back, I am filled with gratitude for the experience we had at Saint John of God Murdoch Hospital. The exceptional care and support received from Dr. Paul Taylor, the nursing staff, and the entire hospital team made a lasting impression on our family. Their dedication and professionalism went above and beyond our expectations, and we are immensely thankful for their role in my father's successful surgery and recovery. The memories we have of this experience will remain in our hearts forever. It serves as a reminder of the incredible individuals who work in healthcare, selflessly dedicating themselves to the well-being of others. We will always remember the Saint Rose Ward and the genuine care shown to my father during his time there. In conclusion, our time at Saint John of God Murdoch Hospital was truly remarkable. The outstanding care provided by Dr. Paul Taylor and the staff in the Saint Rose Ward left an indelible impression on our family. We sincerely appreciate their professionalism, compassion, and unwavering commitment to my father's health. We will forever be grateful for the exceptional experience we had at this remarkable hospital.

My son just had his tonsils out here. The boarders fold out couch has to be the most uncomfortable thing I've ever slept on, not that I got much sleep. Considering we pay private health it is pretty poor. The new ordering system where you order food from the menu is bizarre, I ordered the pancakes from the kids menu (on menu it says pancakes with banana, Blueberrys and maple syrup) When it arrived it was just a dry pancake on its own. When I called I was rudely told I had to specifically order all those extras on top (apparently I have to be a mind reader also) Definitely other better private hospitals around that's for sure.

I was admitted to st. John of god on wednesday for spinal surgery. (The words spinal surgery still freaks me out) My first night was tough but with drip controlled pain meds got me through . My second night changing to oral was an experience I'll never forget. The staff at st. John of god where truly AMAZING I felt like i was being cared for by my own mum. Thank you to all at At St. John of god Murdoch

For you own sake and bank account (hidden fees), keep driving and go to the public ED further down the road. Worst organised Hospital in Perth. I guess I know now why it was very quiet when I was there and they were happy to see me🤣 As a private hospital you expect better services🤷 Go somewhere else 😊👌 Nurses were nice tho👍

I went to emergency on Monday and the care I received from the nurses and doctors was amazing. I was admitted to the Bridget Clancy Ward and everyone was amazing. I would like to especially thank Dr Cooke, nurses Tina, John, Winnie, Amy, Bonnie, Alyssa and everyone else on the ward for caring and taking such good care of me. Also the doctor and nurses at SKG. Peter, Roz and Irra were so amazing in my time of need. Thank you all so much, you all deserve medals

Disgusting to even call this place a hospital, gp referred me to emergency department on Sunday due to having chest pain in left side, they did some blood test and X-rays couldn’t find an issue, could not tell me what was causing it, sent me home with anti inflammatory, visted again today due to having numbing pain and tingles through my left arm and ongoing chest pains and they tried to charge me again to admit me, told nurse to transfer all my results from Sunday to another hospital, said they couldn’t do it and I said if I have a heart attack because your doctor couldn’t find an issue I’ll sue them, nurse responded saying “no problem”. Absolutely disgusting

Just had hip replacement surgery on Friday and have to say the nursing staff on the orthopaedic ward are absolutely amazing, cannot fault a single thing. The care they gave was amazing, thank you all. The food is brilliant and like proper hotel room service, amazing. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a hospital to have surgery at and are undecided.

We delivered our first child at SJOG Murdoch this month. The care and service provided by all staff (including ObGYN, Paediatrician, Midwives and Lactation consultants) were nothing short of spectacular. Special shoutout to Kristen (the midwife that delivered our baby and took care of my wife during the initial stage post delivery). All our questions and concerns were patiently handled and amazing service was provided to us 24x7. We had a dedicated midwife that stayed with us during the entire delivery phases. The food at this hospital is also worth calling out, it is comparable to a 5 star hotel - in quality, variety and service.

It's disgraceful for a hospital that holds itself out as one of the premier hospitals. They are not equipped to care for elderly and frail patients who as we well know often suffer from poor appetite and require more intensive attention. . My wife who in her 80s, is frail and weak, has been in there for two weeks and no one has checked her food intake. During the two weeks she only had mostly soup. I had to point this out to them and request for food supplement to be provided. The nurses explain that they are understaffed and can only provide the basic attention and care. On the other hand the nurses are polite and kind but obviously stressed.

Best hospital in WA. I will literally refuse to go anywhere else. Standard of care is 10/10 from the room attendants to the head of departments. If you are sick, or in need of surgery, you are in the best hands at SJOG Murdoch.

Had a very poor experience at ED at SJOG Murdoch. Doctor was abrupt and appeared to be disinterested with no compassion. Presented to ED with a back injury in a huge amount of pain and I was completely dismissed and told by the ED doctor that there’s no cure for this problem, however she never specified what ‘this problem’ was as she did not do any assessments, scans, investigations or anything! I woke up the next day unable to stand or walk, 2 weeks on, nothing has changed and I now need to see a spinal surgeon but with Christmas etc I have to wait to next year. The doctor at ED did not demonstrate any of the SJOG values (compassion, respect, hospitality, justice, excellence). At least a little bit of compassion would have been nice.

I have just returned home after knee replacement surgery at Murdock. I have to say it was a pleasant experience after some of the places my wife has been in recently. The food is excellent and is run on a room service sysytem were you ring up and order what you want and they deliver just like a hotel. They have a very extensive menu that would satisfy the most discering of patients. The nursing staff on St Francis ward were very kind and efficient and I would thoroughly recommend this hospital.

Brought my pregnant partner to the emergency with chest pain, received the standard checks then waited 6 hours for the doctor on a Wednesday night. Considering it cost you 300$ to be seen, not anywhere close to good enough. Beds are shocking and out dated, appliances all tagged out of service. Very disappointed. Next time we will be going Public, nothing special about it at all.

Murdoch. St Mary's Ward. We have just had a newborn baby boy and are utterly disgusted with some of the staff dealings we have had to endure. The main two staff members in question we're incredibly rude and abrupt with any dealings and we we're made to feel like we were inconveniencing them whenever involved. Both staff members attempted to dismiss anything that we said. One clear example was our baby was crying in the early hours of the morning and we're told earlier that we could ask for help in order to acquire a couple hours of sleep. Upon requesting help finally, the midwife lectured us upon not filling out the feeding schedule form (not once explained or told to us), then explained that she is quite busy and may bring him back if she gets anymore busier. Upon leaving she then burst the door open and was frustrated that we had fed baby 2 hours ago? We at this point asked her to leave and took back our son. If we wanted terrible service and a quick "in and out" experience we would of gone public. This is most disheartening and sickening because this is not the experience and service we expected, not what we believed the St John of God service was about and definitely not something we will be letting down lightly. Would thoroughly recommend new parents reconsider what you are paying for if expecting a universal good service and support and comforting environment.

Had surgery here early May. I have to say the staff and facilities are top class. Staff always polite and prompt. First time ever in a private hospital. Also, there is catering which is easily ordered once admitted. They even let you order you meals in advance. The food is delicious. (Highly recommend the apple pie)

Great care compassion and kindness in an extremely busy ED recently despite a very long wait. Triaged after about an hour but pain treated effectively. Eventually seen by an ED Consultant, and given excellent professional care and advice. Very happy with the staff and service in ED. Thank you!

On Monday the 25/07/22, I was transferred to St John of God Murdoch from Midland to have surgery to remove my Gallbladder. I’m giving everyone 10/10 stars. All the nurses on level one were the BEST and was taken care of from the time I first arrived right through until discharge yesterday. Amazing people, and thank you everyone for your fantastic work.

Thanks to all the staff at Murdoch hospital. I took my 90 year old mum into emergency on Wednesday May 11. She was in a lot pain. Within the hour we were put in an isolation room where mum was given pain killers and a bed to rest on X-rays done in the bed and bloods taken. She was given a delicious roast lunch before she was moved into a ward. From arrival to me leaving took around 6 hours and mum was treated with care and respect the entire time. Thanks to all involved. Liz Polini

I was recently admitted to SJOG Murdoch to have a knee replacement. My stay was in the St Rose ward and may I say what an overall pleasant experience it was considering the reason for my being there. Staff from the initial contact checking for covid to the admission people, nurses (ward and in the operating area) orderlies, food delivery staff and staff maning the kitchen phones and cleaners, I've probably missed someone but in the four days I was there not one grumpy person, request denied, nothing was too much trouble Special thanks to my orthopaedic surgeon and anaesthetist. Food was cruise ship quality and delivered as room service from 6.30 am till 8.00 pm dial up and ask for anything on the menu, I put on 3 kgs heh heh Thanks again, I have another knee to get replaced soon so see you then. We'll done all.

I was admitted for scheduled surgery on my spine, I hobbled in the door in extreme pain and left relatively pain free and feeling like I had spent 3 nights in a good quality hotel. I can honestly say that I was treated with dignity , respect and kindness by every single person involved in my care. From the nurse passing the entrance, who was clearly on her break , but who still took the time to ensure I was given a wheelchair and was as comfortable as possible on my way to admissions, to the orderly who wheeled me to my partners vehicle upon discharge, I can honestly say that I was treated with dignity , respect and kindness by every single person involved in my care. My room was bright and clean and it was so lovely to choose and order a variety of good quality meals when I felt I was ready to eat rather than on a set schedule. It made such a difference to regaining my appetite post surgery. Thank you so much to Mr Narula , his team and all the staff at St John of God Murdoch for your excellent care.

The ladies at St Mary's ward were absolutely amazing! first time pregnancy with some pains at 25 weeks - being scared and not knowing what to do - they got me straight in and kept me over night for observations on me and the baby -very re assuring and they were all so kind and treated me so well. The midwifes Ollie and Nicole are an asset to the hospital :) Looking forward to coming back and staying once we have our baby.

Went to ED on then Saturday 3:30am with Heart palpitations with extreme fatigue and a fever and with my partner immunocompromised due to her current breast cancer treatment I needed this reviewed straight away to much sure she doesn't get it. With the fever and fatigue I was put in an isolation room and tested for COVID. I knew this was going to happen and a nurse came in to take some blood samples and do a COVID swab, but she felt the need to tell me I shouldn't come to hospital for a COVID test and drain hospital resources, without knowing any contents of my admission. I felt very unwell (too sick for the COVID testing sites) and was there mainly due to my heart palpitations and partners condition that led me to go to the hospital. Everyone else were great, but I don't understand why she felt the need to try lecture me. I am a health professional in the public hospital system and wouldn't dream of my first interaction with a patient without knowledge of the situation to lecture them, best she just help sick patients, unfortunately people like this can ruin your experience and almost make U feel guilty for seeking medical help

After severing an artery and nerve at my workplace, I was directed to attend SJOG Murdoch for reparative surgery by Dr Sharon Chu. From the moment I set foot in the hospital, the level of kindness, care and competence was exemplary. Orderlies were extremely kind and attentive, the nurses and doctors were super efficient and lovely, I couldn't fault anyone I came into contact with. My anaesthetist, Dr James Miller was similarly amazing, taking my past history with genersl anaesthesia into account and ensuring I did not wake up sick and vomiting after the GA as I usually do. I woke up in recovery feeling great, with no hint of nausea. Dr Chu was similarly impressive, not only by doing a great job on the repair, but by being kind, attentive and very reassuring. Her smile lit up the room and completely put me at ease, it made all the difference and eased my pre-op anxiety! My breakfast the next day was superb and ordering off the room service menu felt as though I was in a 5 star hotel! It was delivered promptly with a smile by another lovely hospital employee and was hot & delicious. I truly felt that I was having a lovely holiday, with just a bit of surgery thrown in for good measure! I cannot fault my experience at SJOG Murdoch and give my heartfelt thanks to all imvolved in my care!

Very disappointed staff are lovely but sad that you wait 5 hours and still don't get a bed for day surgery, why? because there are none!! This is a private hospital? Private is not better at all or is it just St John of God Murdoch? or is it my health fund which I pay $$$ for or is it inflation or haircuts and dental who knows. Just not happy and it is for a cancer patient.

Both times I've called the reception, they were so quick to dismiss my request over the phone. It felt like they didn't want to waste their time talking to me. I was trying to explain why I couldn't get someone at the Drs rooms where she had transferred my call due to Drs room closed on Mondays. She was quickly brushing me off. I felt like she didn't want to listen to me.

Almost 2 weeks after surgery I was told we had to pay sgofg hospital $704 on top of the $3000 I had already paid for just a day surgery for my son!!( this didn't include surgeon. I challenged it thankfully because they checked with the surgeon nothing extra had been done. And to they were sorry there was no extra charge. I advise everyone to check there post op billing. Cause if I paid this. It would of been for no reason at all but to fill the pockets of the CEO's who benefit from us. I'm discussed and saddened to think I'm a mug. Never again Murdoch saint john of god!!!¡!!! You should be ashamed of your self 😞

Everything from admission to checking out was outstanding. My first time being out under anaesthesia so I was very nervous But everyone from the nurse checking me in to the nurse pushing me down the hall to the waiting bay The nurse going through my details Every nurse that walked by had only kind and comforting and encouraging things to say as I tried to hide my scared tears. I wish i could remember their names. Dr Sader and my anaesthetist were equally as outstanding. And my recovery nurse Kimi was next level amazing. Don’t even get me started about the food… the food is restaurant quality.

Abysmal. SJOGH Murdock, claim excellence of service but. Do not apply their own stated standards. Top hospital private insurance, does not cover in hospital necessary services, such as x-ray. Scans, Physiotherapy, blood tests, medications. Plus, plus. Specialist practitioners are Lords in the wards, with no peers. Public hospitals are better equipped, have multiple specialist practitioners, who converse opinions on patient care and diagnosis.

I recently had the privilege of being cared for by the amazing nurse, Aisha, during my stay in the Thomas Furlong ward. I am truly grateful for her exceptional qualities and unwavering dedication. From the moment she walked into my room, her great and caring demeanour, positive attitude, and ever-present smile instantly brightened my day. Aisha's remarkable bedside manner and communication skills played a pivotal role in making my stay more enjoyable. Her ability to connect on a personal level and make me feel heard and understood was truly extraordinary. Her excellent communication style fostered a sense of trust and confidence, as her positive attitude radiated from her every interaction. She consistently greeted me with a warm smile and a kind word. Her positive energy was contagious! I cannot recommend nurse Aisha highly enough. Her exceptional care, positive attitude, excellent bedside manner, and outstanding communication skills made my hospital stay an experience filled with comfort and reassurance. She is a true professional who goes above and beyond for her patients, and her commitment to delivering top-notch care is commendable. Nurse Aisha deserves nothing less than a glowing five-star rating for her remarkable service and compassionate approach. Thank you, Nurse Aisha, for being an extraordinary healthcare provider and for making a positive difference in my journey toward recovery.

My experience as the support person of a patient hospitalised for weeks (rather than days) was very variable. Some staff were friendly, helpful, caring and very competent. Some were…not. The lack of listening to my relative’s answers distressed her quite a bit, as did those times she received patronising responses to her questions or requests. When issues were raised the team leader was responsive and tried her best to help with improvements to the concerns raised to her.

Visited back in March for an ear condition and had an exceptional experience. Was attended to by a range of nurses, all of which were very caring and patient despite being extremely busy. After a small wait, was attended to by Dr Andy, a fantastic doctor who was very friendly and respectful, and ultimately was able to advance my specialist appointment months ahead, which in hindsight may have greatly improved my chances of a full recovery. Cannot recommend this establishment or the people working their enough, I am extremely grateful. Thank you

I found no appreciable benefit going to the ED here at opposed to FSH. Wait time was equally as long if not longer. The staff probably triaged me wrong - they didn't bother to open the bandage to see the gaping wound in my arm. When I told the nurse to re evaluate how serious it was, she said 'wow that's impressive', and I was back to the waiting and nothing happened. Note to BUPA folks, you'll probably still have a gap of $295 for the ED visit. Fewer people, but fewer doctors so wait time is equally as long if not longer.

I been admitted in this hospital, I have kidney stone procedure and lot scan been done. I paid my excess. I checked with insurance company am I cover they said yes, after procedure I was receiving SkG radiology bills and clinal lab bills even I was inpatient ( written on invoice ). I called hospital , insurance , SKG. I found hospital hire outsourced radiology and lab. Which is funny thing. They can charge whatever they want no other choice you have . As hospital staff I have no problem , great staff thank you for that but not happy at all. I like to suggest everyone before you go make sure how much you have pay for out of pocket. You might end up thousands of $$$$.

My elderly Mother-in-Law had taken a tumble and badly bruised her hip & buttock (losing the ability to walk). We admitted her to the ED of SJoG Murdoch and the service from all of the team members was fantastic. From the pre-COVID screening team, to ED & admissions, to the doctors, nurses and carers. Whilst it did take a while for her to get the necessary scans, and a room allocated. I understand that theres a system in place that needs to prioritise patients based on their injury/requirements and this obviously impacts the timeframes in evaluating a patient. One of the surprising highlights of her stay was the quality of the food on offer. Generally we think of hospital food as being nutritionally sound, but pretty bland/boring. Not at SGoG Murdoch - their "Room Service" food menu was off the charts. Patients can order meals at a time that suits them, and the menu selection is better than some hotels i've stayed at - tasty snacks (muffins, banana bread, mini-pies/sausage rolls), pasta, salads, soups, sandwiches/rolls, burgers, stir-frys, grilled steak/chicken, deserts, smoothies, milkshakes - it was AMAZING. Hats off to the Kitchen team for thinking out of the box in delivering a solution that exceeded expectations. Whilst no one wants to spend any more time in hospital than they need to. The combined effort of everyone involved with my MiL's stay, made what is usually a pretty stressful situation, into something very bearable - thank you all again!

Having recently had bypass surgery I would like to express my absolute thanks to the teams that looked after me. The staff in Ward 4 C & D and ICU were incredible. The care, comfort, support and informative conversations will never be forgotten. The cheery hello's and banter from the catering staff was much appreciated. Last but not least a massive thanks to the surgical team for the work on me and the care they took to keep a Ta Moko intact for me while removing the bits they required

I have been in and out for a couple of surgeries over the past couple of years with back and SI joint issues and I have to say the staff on ward St Rose have been amazing every time I’ve been in. The nurses and orderlies on ward do an amazing job making sure you are taken care of and always have the time to help. You guys have a fantastic team who I can’t thank enough.

Once again absolute 5 star care from the staff at SJOG Murdoch!! From admission, through to theatre, to ward care and cleaning/food crew, the level of care, competence and help is always absolutely amazing. If given a choice - I will always pick SJOG Murdoch for any surgery needed for my family and myself.

My wife and I had the 1st AZ vaccination on September 8. On Saturday 18, my wife woke up at approximately 3.00am with a severe headache. So she took 2 Panadol and a few glasses of water. The headache didn’t get any better, so we spoke to Fiona Stanley Hospital who recommended we see our GP. We had an appointment with the GP early Saturday where my wife was examined and sent to have blood tests. At approximately 2.30pm the GP rang and advised that the blood tests indicated some blood clotting and advised us to go to the Emergency Dept to obtain a brain scan to verify if there was a serious issue of brain bleed. Due to previous experiences with Fiona Stanley we elected to go to SJOG Murdoch. We were triaged at approximately 3.45pm and as my wife indicated that she had a slight cough when she woke up at 3.00am, the triage nurse considered possible Covid-19 and we were advised to sit in our car in the carpark adjacent to the Emergency Entrance as the hospital had 1 isolation room which being used. After 2 hours my wife needed to go to the toilet and initially the hospital advised she could not use the toilets in the hospital. SJOG was advised the alternative was to use the hospital gardens, so SJOG then made a cubical available. After nearly 4 hours from being triaged my wife was finally admitted. In this time period besides being escorted to the toilet, SJOG made no effort to check on my wife’s condition. We had to make contact with the ED on progress for admission as they only contacted us once in this time period. On 3 occasions their phone rang out. Their customer care taking into account the GP advised concerns of adverse reaction to the AZ vaccination, was unacceptable especially for one of the largest Catholic providers of health care services in Australia. From our experience if you have any issues related to vaccinations or Covid-19, then SJOG lacks the capacity, protocols and procedures to effectively manage these situations.

I had the best experience at this hospital, staff, nurses and doctors all so professional and friendly. Food was great... it was like being at a great hotel... I was not going to leave a comment but my son was in joondalup private hospital and I realised how good st John is relative. Big difference

Disgusting, atrocious treatment from hospital staff towards our family from the Thomas Furlong nursing team and Senior Social Worker . My 76 year old Indigenous father who Is Vietnam Veteran, has been hospitalised for one month and is terminally ill, refused calls and visit from children, grandchildren, family and friends at the direction of the non-Indigenous carer. The hospital have no regard for the Reconciliation Action Plan RAP on their website. Our father will die alone.

We took my mum there in emergency. ED staff were good but ED doctor was condescending - forcefully suggestig we take her to Hollywood hospital despite me explaining why we couldn't. Mum was then transferred to SJOG inpatient wards. First ward was good. She was then taken to another ward (St Emilies). The horror started then as the doctor in-charge tried to push her out ASAP. Nurses were stretched thin and couldn't provide the required care. She went home 3 days later and then her asthma/breathing relapsed. We had to call in an ambulance and they took her to Hollywood hospital where she received much better care.

I waited in plastic triage chair outside ED from 6.30pm to 1am in December for an admission despite a letter from St John Urgent Care requesting that I be admitted for IV antibiotics for a serious skin injury. I then waited another 3 hours until they found a ward that could take me. On the second night I was given antibiotics as a syringe dose instead of a slow machine drip. All previous 4 hourly administrations of the antibiotics were via a machine over 30 - 60 minutes. Intense pain was followed by thrombophlebitis and the later discovery of a 13cm blood clot. According to the hospital "investigation" the nurse acted "within protocols" and did nothing wrong - despite giving me the drug in a totally different manner to all previous nursing care. I am appalled by the lack of transparency in the subsequent investigation and look forward to an investigation by AHPRA. SJOG management appear to be caring then want a disclaimer signed for any reimbursement of costs so far, so that no further compensation can be sought if the injury continues to cause me issues, despite me telling them I have had nerve pain since the clot. This is for an injury that was caused by the hospital and which is more severe than the one for which I was admitted. Initial apparent concern and verbal support lulled me into a false sense of security. A letter soon followed that showed the true level of care. Will I ever attend that hospital again - not a chance.
