👍👍 Completed my clinical placement on the Restorative Unit not long ago. This is an older adult rehabilitation ward. As a student nurse, i didn't have much expectation since my placement before this one was horrible but i couldn't be more pleasantly surprised. Firstly, this place is a very busy ward... People often mention care, staff, hospital, nurses, Lawley, time, experience, good, surgery, ward,

Completed my clinical placement on the Restorative Unit not long ago. This is an older adult rehabilitation ward. As a student nurse, i didn't have much expectation since my placement before this one was horrible but i couldn't be more pleasantly surprised. Firstly, this place is a very busy ward to work on. What struck me most is how gentle, calm, kind and caring these nurses are towards their patients. They work diligently and pay attention even to the smallest of detail. Send your parents to this ward people, they will be looked after very well. Secondly, the nurses work as a team. My preceptor for the shift had to leave due to a family emergency and the rest of the team took over and looked after her patients. Another nurse took me under their wing, i was never made to feel out of place or unsupported. The nurses are supportive and willing to teach if you are keen to learn. They make patient comfort and safety a priority. Thank you for restoring my faith in the profession to the RU Nurses and thank you for all your hard work.

My son had surgery there today and I asked him to rate his experience upon departure. First ever hospital experience that he can remember anyway. Rating was … 10! Personally, from the moment we walked through the doors, we were made to feel welcome, comfortable and were attended to immediately. Admission time, probably 2 minutes. Going up to level 1, we were escorted by the lovely Andrea. Handover was fantastic. He was taken away and was very well looked after by a number of staff. When he returned from theatre, again, nurses constantly checking on his well being. Offered my husband and me the use of their interior lounge while we waited, with refreshments as required. Soon after, took us to see him and wait with him while he recovered from the anaesthetic. Anaesthetist - superb. Surgeon - superb. Nurses and support staff - superb. Cleanliness - superb. Friendliness and care - superb. Highly recommend the hospital. Thank you!

Arrived with knees pain, lady at the reception wouldn’t even let me finish explaining. She straight away assumed that I was unvaccinated so I shouldn’t be at the hospital and told me I could only be there if it was for surgery or an emergency. She got up from her seat and told me I had to leave and couldn’t be inside. Horrible service, there are nicer ways to turn someone away instead of making assumptions and being rude.

I had surgery here on Wednesday 31st May. I can’t praise them highly enough. From start to finish they were amazing🥰 To the gentleman who put my diathermy pad on whilst I was awake, in future could you put it on once the pt is asleep? You were right, it was bloody freezing.🤣🤣 To the staff on 3rd floor you are amazing. Thank you for your care. To my surgeon, thank you for your care and skill. To my anaesthetist, thank you for keeping me alive so my surgeon could do his good work. To the recovery staff, thank you for the laughs and great care. SJOG Mt Lawley. THANK YOU🥰🥰

Disappointed. Admitted at 10 am. Went for surgery at 2.30pm!! Ridiculous. Daytime nursing staff really good. Very helpful. But since coming back from surgery, seems like I'm on my own. Had a double Hernia procedure, which all went well. But the aftercare seems non existent in the hospital. I was told I had to stay the night. But to be honest I would of got better care from my Wife at home,! I realise it's to keep check on me, but I've been back from surgery for 3 hours, and the only interest I got from the care staff, was when I rang the buzzer, and then she looked at me as if to say., what do you want. I needed the toilet and wasn't sure if I was allowed to get up to go. But the attitude I got was why did you call me for. Just go!!!! Not impressed. Feel I'm expected to fend for myself. If I have to have any hospital admissions in the future, I think I'll try and get in somewhere else! For a private hospital, that I'm paying a premium for. It's not good enough. I must add that the Nurse in question has improved, and doing a 👍

An incredible hospital with incredible staff. The maternity facilities and services are second to none. People often referred to this hospital as a ‘hotel’ to me when I was pregnant and now I understand why! I am forever grateful for the nurses who changed our lives forever. Thank you.

Under difficult times JSG still provide a caring and professional service. The food is excellent and offers size options. All the staff are caring and really lovely in every way. Adam one of my nurses gets 5 stars from me he was very skilled and attentive. Despite the government claims our hospital system needs more support.

I just had a poor experience on the phone while enquiring for fees on a medical procedure. I called Mercy Endoscopy Service this morning. I got private health provider. The person on the phone turned what was a genuine question into a confrontation to then blame me: "You confused me"... I think having individual fees and being the patient's obligation to find out on their own is stressful enough, no need to add to it. I am not sure why people would choose and keep jobs taking calls if they are not happy to do so. At this point I don't feel like going any forward or having this procedure at all :(

Never delt with such an inept social services. 6 calls on the day of discharge of an 85 year old man to not 1 call returned. Not 1 service sorted for the day of an 85 year old man being returned home, multiple conversations over 3 week period promising everything was sorted. The whole team there should be ashamed of yourselves

In the past I had a serious illness requiring ICU. I fell in love with the people of the nursing profession then. Today I had a simple procedure and the beautiful people are still there. And particularly after 2 years of pandemic we should treasure them even more. Thanks to Nancy and all the happy crew in endoscopy.

a very disappointing experience with this hospital this was my second time here, started of by being placed on the incorrect surgeons list, some of the nurses were quite rude, ran off without saying anything and hours later came back, patients arrived after me and they went in before me i was made to be last on the list, pharmacy staff handed me incorrect patients medication, was never giving an update on when i was going in, ended up having a different anaesthetist my initial one had to leave, fingers cross there will be no charge because my previous anaesthetist has an agreement with my health fund, went back to the ward post op never offered a hot drink or juice was given water and sandwiches with egg, im allergic and its written all over my notes, last but not least was made to get my own medication. absolute disgrace for a private hospital and paying them for what exactly!

A big thanks to Dr Patrick Wu and birth team (midwives: Ella,Cath, Britney, Nadine… sorry I cannot remember all their names). I had a wonderful experience as my first baby Cedric was born there in November 2022. They are very patient and responsible . I’m confident to say this is best hospital and team for maternity delivery. I just recommend my friend to Patrick as she has confirmed pregnant. Please pass my thanks to midwives Thank you so much Best regards Can C (Connie)

My partner and I just spent 5 nights in the Family Birthing Unit and Special Care nursery. I cannot speak highly enough of the wonderful men and women who delivered and cared for us and our baby. From the second we arrived it felt extremely personable and comfortable, we knew instantly that we made the right decision. By the time discharge had rolled around we felt sad to be leaving. The staff treated us like family and made us feel so important and valued. The special care team devoted so much time to make sure we stayed on track and understood the jargon which can be tricky with minimal sleep and unexpected stress. Thd building is great, the equipment is clean and modern, the food is outstanding but nothing compared to the hospitality from the staff. A huge thank you to Amber, Kerry, Kate, Marie, Jesse, Jen and anyone else who touched our hearts.. We look forward to hopefully seeing each of you again over the years.

Very lovely staff, good food and lovely luxury of being able to order over the phone whenever you want! Only problem is my nurses don't seem to be used to dispensing much medication, so I've had to keep a close eye on what they're giving me, and let them know whenever they forget something (which happens every day). Other than that I'd rank this a 5 star hospital!

I left the hospital the same day as I had a quadruple hernia operation as I felt I would get way better care at home . I feel that they are way understaffed. I had a call from the hospital asking what they could do I told them they could refund me my excess. On that I was told it was not their decision and they would take it higher. Never heard from them again.

I gave birth to my first baby on the SJOG Mt Lawley maternity ward and I was absolutely thrilled at the care and genuine compassion, support and love we received from the doctors, midwives, nurses and reception staff. I couldn’t be more happy with the care that was shown to us. My partner got to stay with me the entire time and we were not rushed out to leave (staying and extra night to care for my baby because we needed it). The rooms were beautiful fitted out and the food was super fantastic even for hospital food. We had loads of fresh fruit and snacks daily we could never finish it all. I will forever remember my families amazing experience and the beautiful ladies who looked after me and my baby (and supported and taught my partner to change nappies and help with feeds) during this time. The lactation consultants are incredible and the follow up care was phenomenal. Everyone just seemed genuinely focused on our care and comfort and sharing lovely stories with us. Thank you Mt Lawley for making this such a wonderful experience for me and my family. We will absolutely be returning for round two ❤️

Yesterday was my first visit to SJOG Mount Lawley and when i walked through the main reception i was greeted with this friendly tone from Sandy the receptionist / switchboard operator. Whilst waiting for admissions i had the pleasure of listening to Sandy acknowledge patients face to face and over the phone and her demeanour was welcoming. I felt re-assured and comforted sitting in the waiting room that if this the first person i have seen and she has such a friendly disposition i am at the right place and will be taken care of. The only critique i have is...please consider upgrading the reception/waiting area at the main reception - when the sliding doors open the gust of wind was rather chilly (bearing in mind that most of the patients waiting have been fasting and as such our body temperatures are low, we feeling apprehensive, first time patients scared of the unknown..) which made this uncomfortable. i would hate to think what it feels like during winter. Thank you to the nursing staff and surgeon for an awesome experience and if i ever have to have another procedure i certainly will opt to come back to Mount Lawley. Sandra Angrilli

Because it is a smaller hospital, all nurses, doctors, anesthesiologists, surgeons are actually able to do they work on a whole another level, better level. They are more interested to really help you with even more support if you ask for it. Special thanks to my surgeon Dr Cecilia Wee who have been with me every step of the way, truly went over and beyond to accommodate my health needs. Really good service and I strongly recommend them.

Never have my wife and I been so thoroughly disappointed with the quality and service provided to us by a so-called private hospital. I can list out 20+ of the glaring issues that we experienced while we were at St John of God Mt Lawley. The only reason why we even opted for Mt Lawley is that our doctor (Perkovic, God bless her soul) had her clinic there and the fact that my wife works at Subiaco and she wished to have a ‘private’ delivery. But no, we are not going there anymore. Let me give out 5 of the most prominent ones here so that since it is a public forum, they will at least know people who are planning to opt for them are reading. I am not going to take names, but I will commend the two midwives who did a tremendous job while they were on shift for my wife. Number 1. Midwives are not supposed to come and tell a woman who just had a C-section, that they are busy! (when the entire floor had only maybe 5 babies) and that if we need any help, they can buzz us. I do not care if you are a ‘senior experienced staff’ but lady, I would have sued you if I was there when you made that statement. Number 2. All women do not have the same size of breasts. So, when a patient needs a breast pump, you need to have options. Not stare at my wife like she is speaking Greek or Hebrew to you. Number 3. When we do buzz for some help, we do not mind waiting for 15 – 20 minutes. Not expect to see the entire floor empty with only one nurse in the neonatal (who was by the way equally rude) and not get any attendance at all. Number 4: No, you do not have quality benchmarks. If a serious quality check had been done in the unit, most of the midwives there would have clueless about policies and procedures, let alone caring for their patients. You are supposed to have patient interaction and handovers at regular intervals no matter how busy you are. Number 5: If we wanted to a DIY hospital to check in and check out. I cannot believe that the ward clerk dared to tell me that she does not have a customer feedback form. And that for any of my requirement, I can speak to my nurse. In addition to this, my wife and I had to do our check out ourselves??? What cheesed me off is that while leaving. Ms Ward Clerk, you do not offer us a teddy bear after confusing us on where we should get the medicines. We don’t want your teddy bear. The only two people who knew their jobs were Midwife Rebecca who attended us while my wife was induced and took extra care of her. And Midwife Joan, who helped us in the middle of the night without being told or asked when we needed to rest. People, most of you do not know what to expect in terms of care and service. That is why you see nothing wrong with any of the service they provide, but trust me, do a session at SJOG Subiaco or Murdoch and then go to SJOG Mt Lawley, you will see why Lawley is super sub-par. Always speak to professional and take advice from people who are experienced and then make your choice.

I went to One For Women to have my baby at your hospital. Seen by a GP, delivered by a specialist and only $1250 out of pocket! It was too good to be true. Your hospital endorsed them and advertised them and so did HBF. OFW went bankrupt and the founder and owner is working from the same rooms in your hospital as if nothing happened. I am told I can still have my baby at your hospital at no extra cost but it will be delivered by this doctor who already took my money, but he is not a specialist. I wonder how many women who decided to still go with him even know this. It was certainly hidden very well form us until we made enquiries. Why is a GP allowed to deliver babies in a private hospital? Why is a doctor that went bankrupt allowed to still see patients? Why does his name come up when you search your website for a specialist? Why don't you make it clear to people that he is a GP, instead your website says 'GP' and 'Obstetrician' and 'Anaesthetist as if he is both? He cannot even do c-sections? What other things are there that he cannot do? You should be warning women instead you are supporting this doctor. We'll rather drive all the way to Murdoch! It is a disgrace!

A 7 STAR HOSPITAL As soon as we reached the Family Birthday Unit on the 8th Feb 2023, we knew already we made the right decisions. The staffs in this department made us feel so relax and we were extremely comfortable. Our friendly Dr Vincent lee and his team made the delivery of my wife in a very smooth way and we were never stressed during this process . Big thanks to Amber O’Neill who took the best photos and videos during the delivery even though how busy she was. I would like also to thank all the midwives and nurses who helped and cared for us. Rhonda, Chantel, Jessie, Amber, Kate, and everyone who touched our hearts. The food have been unlimited with lots of options and very tasty. I highly recommend this hospital and doctor Vincent Lee.
