This is a breathtaking and fresh 3.5km walk around beautiful Lake Monger. It is a flat and well paved walk, with a short board walk at the end. It is adorned with a large variety of birds and a few pagodas that extend a short distance into the lake; they allow you to bask in the tranquility of the still reflective waters. Very kid and elderly friendly with coffee and acai fowl food trucks and a skate park at the end as well.

Great place to run, cycle or walk and plenty of parking. Fun place for the family to relax and enjoyed the fauna. This time of the year plenty of ducklings and baby turtles.

Beautiful walk around the lake. Very popular with walkers, joggers and runners. Unfortunately there is an algal bloom at the moment, making the water very green and not the most pleasant smell.

A beautiful location close to the city. This is the fastest 4.5 km walk you will ever do. it is flat circuit around the lake. It is so tempting to stop at the many interest points, where you'll see turtles, bird life, snakes and drones. Don't be put off by how busy the car parks become as many people are there just for the playground or for picnics. We were heading to the coast for a walk but parked at the second of three parking lots off Lake Monger Drive, to answer the phone. Realising that we were already at a nice spot, we chose to take advantage of the lake walk. The path is wide, on the freeway side there are dual paths, the old and the new path. Shoes? Almost any comfortable shoes will do, I saw people wearing thongs. Its a clean smooth walkway. Water bottle? Take water as there's only the one tap near the playground. On the day we came across a caravan at the west end of the park, which was selling snacks and drinks. No jacket required. The pathway weaves in and out of shady tress. The trees provide shade along the way. It's clean and fresh. We'll be back!

In early September, I deliberately came here to look for black swans, but I didn't find them, but the lake view is really beautiful, and I even watched the sunset.

We absolutely loved walking around this lake yesterday afternoon. There were a couple of parks on the way, which my daughter thoroughly enjoyed. Could have sat down for hours as it was so peaceful.

Great place for a walk , picnic, enjoy the sun etc ! Wildlife everywhere! Workout facilities situated around lake monger . This is a perfect place to start or end your day . Easy accessible parking on both sides of the lake . Bike lanes that takes you around the lake and into Leederville also continues to many more places . Recommend! Gem of a place !

A beautiful lake and very idyllic. It's lovely seeing the variety of birds and being in nature. Makes for a great stroll during the day or evening. Well lit in the evening. If you're walking during the day, make sure it's not too hot as when you're walking around the loop there isn't much shade. There is lots of shade by the playgrounds though.

Beautiful and tranquil lake that is the beating heart of Wembley and a key landmark for the Greater Perth region. The reserve itself is fun for the whole family, with many observation decks and pathways serving as lookouts for the natural flora and fauna of the local area. There is also an abundance of open space for playing sports, or exercising in. Looking beyond the south side of the lake, backdrops to the stunning Perth city skyline, and the whole atmosphere of this reserve, creates a sense of peacefulness, a sense of belonging, and deeper appreciation of God's creation.

An expansive park centred around a gorgeous lake filled with wildlife including ducks, swans and other water fowel. Close by to Leederville, it has several carparks, a bowls club and a kid's playground. A lovely place to watch the sunset.

Great place for an early morning walk and to watch the sunrise and bird life

  • 5/5 Jen 2 years ago on Google
What a beautiful spot for a morning walk with a friend. A lovely even track around the lake (about 3.5km) with plenty of opportunities to check out the local birdlife. A few snake warnings posted so probably good to keep an eye out in summer, but there is a lot of foot and bike traffic on the path so if you stick to that I doubt there would be much risk. We started and ended at the playground near the freeway entrance - there is a reasonable sized carpark there as well as new looking toilet facilities. As a bonus, there is a gorgeous little acai van parked near the playground making beautiful fresh, healthy breakfast bowls with a lovely spot to sit and enjoy it.

A great view of Perth city from this tiny lake in West Leederville. Pedestrian path round the park for cyclists and evening joggers. Great place to view fireworks on Australian Day but make sure to arrive a bit early as it can get crowded on such occasions

Good place for a walk to get the steps in. I quite like a morning trip here with the kids. Usually parking is not an issue on any side of the Lake. A couple of good play parks for them to play in. Wildlife is good and kids enjoy that too.

YOU CAN SEE THE CITY HIGHRISE FROM THIS LOCATION. Always beautiful and peaceful place, good for a bike ride with the kids or for a quiet walk to relax. The lake and the swans are amazing all year round. Playgrounds are good and conveniently located on different corners of the park. In spring, cignets and ducklings are not to be missed.beware of the parents, though
