This
is
just
my
opinion
based
on
my
personal
experience:
I
am
dreading
to
give
birth
here...
The
first
red
flag
arose
when
I
had
a
telehealth
consultation
a
few
months
ago.
Despite
it
being
the
first
available
appointment
at
8am,
the
midwife
was
45
minutes
late
and
the
doctor
who
was
supposed
to
call
me
after
that
appointment
was
also
30+
minutes
late.
The
second
was
when
I
had
an
upcoming
28
week
in-person
appointment
but
needed
to
reschedule
as
my
husband
tested
positive
for
Covid
days
before
hand.
I
was
told
that
I
didn't
need
to
reschedule
and
to
arrive
as
planned,
despite
being
a
close
contact.
I
showed
up
early
to
get
my
RAT
test
performed
and
was
told
by
staff
that
I
"shouldn't
even
be
leaving
the
house"
because
I
"might
have
Covid."
They
proceeded
to
call
the
ultrasound
department
regarding
my
appointment,
for
which
they
were
adamant
didn't
even
exist
-
despite
me
holding
a
letter
from
them
with
the
current
appointment
time
and
date
being
highlighted
by
them
-
almost
like
it
was
very
important
that
I
understood
to
be
there
at
this
date
at
this
time!
I
was
never
administered
a
RAT
test
and
refused
entry
on
this
day.
I
received
a
phone
call
5
hours
later
from
a
doctor
asking
me
why
I
missed
my
appointments...
The
third
was
when
this
doctor
booked
my
appointments
for
the
next
week
and
proceeded
to
call
me
back
to
say
they've
decided
to
book
the
appointments
on
two
seperate
days,
two
weeks
from
that
date
because
I
"might
have
Covid
next
week."
I
told
the
doctor
that
I'm
not
showing
up
on
two
different
days
because
I
literally
cannot
afford
to
miss
work,
spend
money
on
the
fuel
required
drive
back
and
forth
and
be
expected
to
pay
for
parking
(and
probably
a
parking
fine
too,
considering
how
consistently
late
the
doctors
are)
and
was
then
told
by
this
doctor
"well,
we
really
can't
do
anything
about
that.
Maybe
you
can
take
an
Uber?"
The
fourth,
at
30
weeks.
My
ultrasound
appointment
went
smoothly
(apart
from
the
technician
spending
45
minutes
trying
to
track
down
the
password
to
gain
access
to
a
seperate
health
establishment's
portal)
and
by
a
stroke
of
luck,
I
could
actually
make
it
to
the
in-person
consultation
the
following
day.
I
was
left
waiting
for
1.5
hours
in
the
East
Wing
Clinic.
The
doctor
checked
my
blood
pressure,
weight
and
urine,
then
told
me
to
go
home.
Why
was
I
required
to
be
seen
by
a
doctor
and
not
a
midwife?
No
idea.
Why
couldn't
these
measurements
be
taken
by
a
nurse
or
midwife
while
I
was
waiting?
No
idea.
Why
couldn't
these
measurements
be
taken
while
I
was
there
the
day
before
and
have
a
follow
up
telehealth
appointment
instead?
Why
was
I
required
to
show
up
in-person
at
all,
especially
considering
that
"they
care
about
women's
health"
and
want
pregnant
women
to
avoid
catching
Covid
at
all
cost?
This
is
my
first
pregnancy;
I
am
suffering
from
antenatal
depression
and
anxiety
-
obviously
no
medical
personnel
at
KEMH
is
aware
of
this
because
they
haven't
asked
me
or
paid
attention
to
any
symptoms
I
am
exhibiting.
I
am
low
income
but
do
not
qualify
for
any
government
assistance.
I
was
not
asked
about
my
diet
and
exercise,
any
drug/alcohol/domestic
violence
issues,
birthing
plans
or
concerns,
upcoming
vaccines,
etc.
I
am
totally
clueless
about
how/where
I
will
be
giving
birth
and
what
my
options
are,
who
my
midwife(s)
are,
what
I
need
to
bring
when
I
go
into
labor,
what
the
signs
of
labor
are,
etc.
Any
information
I
need
about
pregnancy,
I
have
to
search
the
internet
for
and
it
might
not
be
applicable
to
me
as
an
individual
or
as
an
Australian.
I
consider
myself
to
be
a
patient,
responsible
and
intelligent
person
and
I
genuinely
feel
sorry
for
other
women
that
may
have
disabilities/difficulties
and
less
resources
than
me.
I
have
access
to
transport
and
a
personal
support
network,
yet
every
experience
I
have
had
with
this
hospital
has
driven
me
to
my
breaking
point.
I
am
personally
not
expecting
to
show
up
for
any
future
appointments
because
the
stress
just
isn't
worth
it.
This
hospital
is
unorganised
and
chaotic.
They
do
not
care
about
your
time,
financial,
physical
or
mental
wellbeing.
