Genesis Bentley is a conveniently located gym with ample floor and parking space. The staff are friendly, there are countless different group classes available and there is a strong sense of community amongst the members. However, that is where the pros stop. One year ago I made a post in a members group enquiring about a few concerns that myself and several other members had. These concerns included broken machines and machines that were supposed to be arriving in the gym. My post was kindly responded to by the gym owner who highlighted that parts were being ordered for broken machines and explained the reasons for the delayed arrival of new machines. As stated by the owner, the gym was about to go through a procurement process where a new cardio fleet and several pin-loaded machines would replace existing equipment, and that COVID was causing a delay of 3 - 6 months (this was in March 2021). One year on from my post and the gym is in the same, if not a worse off condition. Cable systems are consistently broken and the stairmaster is at a point where it’s spent more days on the sideline than it has as a functional piece of equipment. I have noticed much of the gym community growing increasingly impatient regarding the implementation of the so called “procurement process”. It is quite disheartening to see gyms both north and south along Albany highway undergo renovations and receive new machines during the pandemic, whilst members of Genesis Bentley have been promised, and are yet to receive, a pec deck for close to 3 years now. I have also noticed the steady cancellation of members in recent months (some of which were training at Genesis for 5+ years) due to dissatisfaction with the gym and the opening of competitor gyms offering better/cheaper services. Finally, to whoever is reading this and is wanting to know how you can gain the remaining 3 stars; if machines are needing to be fixed at least once every 4 - 8 weeks then they are probably write offs and need replacing, spread out the (monetary, regarding the many giveaways) efforts from just Coaching Zone and look at how you can improve the overall experience for those like myself who have a hypertrophy styled approach to training and stop pushing members to refer friends. I’m extremely confident that if the gym was in a better condition then people would tell their friends on their own accord.

I was thinking to join for 3 months but I noticed if i join as students I will pay more than standard M !... why do you charge students One-off Payment!. 12 weeks standard M for $282.4 12 Weeks students M for $290.4 wow looks like good deal lol. You should offer students free join fee and weekly discount.

Enjoyed using the ladies gym and classes while I was there. Signed up for the flexible membership instead of the 12 months contract knowing that I couldn’t commit for long. It was really disappointing that it was not brought to notice that there’s a 30 days cancellation period when I signed up. After the cancellation proceeded, I was still being charged one extra week on top of the 30 days.

Not coming again…. It has a females only bit but a big open door men can look into and they do when they walk past? They have a lot of equipment but often not whipped down , and if you ever want to cancel you have to pay almost 6 weeks still worth of $20 a week to cancel ?! If you miss their calls being at work they threaten debt collection , or they don’t cancel your membership and keep charging you , waste of money.. the staff can be very rude too when I was going there

It's big in size, gets busy sometimes but always have something free to do. Some equipment needs replacing, I guess they're old and some out of order. Loved the massage chair, wish everyone cleaned after using the chair or even the gym equipments at night. When people know there's no staff there, they just don't use the towel, leave weights around and not clean. May be someone needs to check the cameras and give these members a call.

Pure scammers stay away from them. There is huge cancelation fee and other fees that they don't tell you about upfront clearly. Only when you try to cancel they will rip you off

Unprofessional PT — Chrissoula. Making appointments but stood up people. I don’t think they can take care of students. That is ridiculous. 1) I finished Job at 7:00 pm, waiting for 2 hours just for 9:00PM appointment. 2) During the phone conversation, double check is it in the evening and she said yes. 3) 8:43pm I had to start to call and double check, get cut directly. I think she walked past me since getting evening PT class, so until 9 o’clock cut the phone and replied at 9:02 saying she was in bed. I don’t think this kind PT can really be responsible, so disappointed. Wasting time and at the beginning even no apologies, so rude.

Have cancelled my membership as less than half the treadmills are working and this has been an going issue...I pay a full membership I expect to use the full gym. During peak hour it's already busy enough and with so many machines out of order it makes it hard to complete a work out. Staff have always been friendly and helpful so it's a shame to leave but will have to look for a gym near by with more machines available.

Very shady and pushy customer service that don’t disclose terms of service and add undisclosed special conditions on membership that make it a nightmare to downgrade the membership or cancel it, without having to pay extra. While the experience and use of facilities itself was okay, the sign up and membership process lacks integrity and the staff lack basic decency and common sense to manage the situation cooperatively, and show a complete lack of empathy.

Trained for 5 years there. Really liked the big open space and abundant equipment. Over time the equipment became dilapidated due to lack of maintenance and the place and company just wasn’t that exciting anymore.

I normally hate going to the gym, but I was lured in for the Six Week challenge and really enjoyed it. Staff were very positive and helpful towards me and motivational to all members in the coaching zone class, creating a rewarding social team environment where everyone encouraged each other irrespective of the varying levels of fitness. Weekly challenges were a bonus at creating a competitive spirit and designed to encourage all to participate.

They have best Ptrainers with good knowledge and experience but the management is really unprofessional. You will not get any reply on your emails and their response is totally different from the conversation over the phone. If you put account on suspension still you will be charged with no explanation. They will ask you to support them during covid lockdown but you won't get any goodwill gesture in return if you are hospitalised.

I feel Genesis is a very good gym. They are well equipped and the staff is also very cooperative. They even offer you 2 free classes of training session.

No one telling me about the cancellation policy. Still keep charging me for 5 times. Even I already stopped attending it.

The best thing about this gym I absolutely love is the facilities in terms of variety of equipment in an excellent ratio to the workout space available! Also the ladies gym room as a separate component is one of the biggest reasons if not, the main reason my partner signed up as well.

Being at Genesis Bentley is an amazing experience. The coaches are very professional and classes are enjoyable. I’ve tried the coaching zone, pilates, and pump class and I repeat it every time I can. There are many schedules for classes, which can be booked from the Genesis app. There is also a special zone for women with all the equipment we need to train. Give it a try you’ll love it.

Been with the gym since the beginning when they first opened in 2014. They have recently had an upgrade to the equipment and also changes to the layout of the gym. A wide range of equipment for cross fit and power lifting and classes as well

Went to the reception, asking how to cancel the membership. The lady at counter was very lude and impantient. Not helpful at all. Went to the gym with happy mood then she ruined the day...

Love this gym, and love that the second entrance to the women’s gym was walled off in the last year or so to close the space in a little more. Patiently waiting for the day a hip thrust machine gets added in, loved that machine at my old gym👀 staff are always friendly and equipment gets fixed fairly quickly😊

Love this gym. Recently returned after a break to find that it still is a nice place to workout. I come in around 3/3:30am during the week with my housemates and it is nice and quiet. The only thing missing is a steam room! Only reason i would look elsewhere

Nice gym! Who ever sign up please be aware it minimum 4 weeks payment. Which is after the 6 weeks free or whatever they offer! Also i was charged $10 each time - saying the payment dint go through! And i am 100% sure, had enough money to pay the weekly in my account!

First gym I’ve actually stuck it out in- the Coaching Zone was the best decision I made though I admit I wasn’t sure when I first started. A few months later and I’ve just completed a 6 week challenge of 3 sessions a week and I actually enjoyed it! Coaches are helpful and friendly and invested in helping you reach your goals.

I joined the gym yesterday for coach training sessions and during the conversation the lady emphasised that I could start the next day and she would be present. It was a waist of my time as no one was there to help and there wasn’t any training for the 6pm class that I was informed to join. I surprised because when I entered I saw and greeted the person that partially completed my registration form but he was rushing to close the door and I saw him walking out without offering any assistance even though he saw me waiting in the gym. I approached the count to sort some help but there was no one to help, I called but no one responded and I decided to train by myself but the two treadmill machines I tried couldn’t start rolling. Then, I approached some people who were having a conversation and asked for help to start the machine, one of the people was a Genesis employee but he was unhelpful. I was extremely disappointed with the lack of professionalism or consideration of the people who pay for the services which are not provided. I will go and ask for my money back and cancel the membership and I would stay away from this king gyms where they don’t provide what they advertise. I am very disappointed ☹️

Genesis Provide positive environment to the beginners and all others. They staff motivates to the clients fir yoga and fitness classes which absolutely including in regular price of the gymnasium. Large gym with plenty of equipment on offer, including olympic lifting platforms, so you will rarely need to wait to use equipment or need to 'work in' with another gym goer. Staff are friendly and will pass a greeting to you as you walk in. Plenty of shower and change facilities available also so ideal for people who need to drop in to the gym before heading straight to work. A worthwhile gym overall as they don't try to force annoying rules on members like some other gyms. Management also has been listening to feedback over the years and improving upon problem areas which is reassuring.

The positive side : gym is very spacious with good equipments. Negative side came to picture after being a member for almost 2 years when I wanted to cancel my membership. I gave them a notice on 28th Jan via their website and received an email that they received and it will be cancelled after 30 days cancellation period. I was charged on 29th Jan and then till 5th March - which is well beyond my cancellation period. When asked for explanation they could hardly explain except repeating - "we have not overcharged". After asking a few more times, they told to contact DebitSuccess and just shrugged off the responsibility in this matter !!! While I would have accepted a reasonable explanation, it is completely unprofessional about the way they treated a customer and denied to explain direct debit - it is almost illegal ! Looking at the reviews, I now can see there is a pattern about how they respond to cancellation of memberships or old members. More focused on new members than to retain old customers !!! THINK TWICE - you might find other gyms better and more professional.

did a trial here 6 months ago when they were the only gym in bently. I really didn't enjoy it, that coaching zone is awkwardly placed. I have friends there and they said the manager is kind of a jerk and i definitely got that vibe off him too. super spacious and big but a lot of the equipment was broken down. Really important that a gym is close to me so i decided to just not join any gym. Then a brand new place opened up across the road luckily out of nowhere so have signed up there instead.

The one thing I notice was , They love to money taking , if you will rise a issue to settle the funds as they took wrongly, they will not give you back, They have plenty reasons to digest them , Stay away

Just moved across from Goodlife and couldn't be happier. Massive gym with plenty of equipment and 24/7 access. The gym is kept very clean, there is always plenty of wipes available and never weights left lying around or left on bars.

The Genesis team us friendly and understanding to your needs. Gym facilities are clean and floorspace is huge!

The place is spacious, clean, doesn't smell like a sweat shop. Layout of the gym is neat and doesn't feel out of place which is why I choose Genesis Bentley in particular compared to the other gyms around this area. Staffs are friendly, attentive and polite, and of course the gym equipments are not old and regularly maintained. Would definitely recommend Genesis Bentley to anyone who is interested. 5 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟

Been in this gym for months now. I have never stayed in a gym for this long. Maximum was probably like 3 or 4 days. it has a really clean and friendly environment. it has good equipment and all the equipments are in order. it has staff that have a good heart that are really friendly and kind and are always smiling. They make you feel like you are at home and don't treat you like you are some sort of stranger. Plus starting the gym with a personal trainer is the right way to start if you are exercising and weightlifting for the very first time. Getting a personal trainer is very important for a beginner going to the gym with no experience. Never had any problems with this gym. Would highly recommend this gym to everyone. Not really good with doing reviews but if I contribute to new people coming in to the gym then that will make me happy. :) 🙂☺

Cons - The personal trainer I was assigned (Jack) was as useful as a chocolate teapot. I always showed up warmed-up and ready at the time of my PT session, and he actually only ever showed up once. I never learned how to even use the equipment. Quite a poor introduction. Pros - Great admin staff, easy to sign up.

I went to Genesis Bentley in 2014 - it was good back then, but it got even better now, with new equipment and Lady's area only. Aerobic/cardio Classes are great and you really enjoy yourself working out!

So many areas and equipment that it never feels claustrophobic! There’s even a ladies only section!!! 🙌👏

i feel bad with their sevice because when you ask for cancel the membership they dont reply quickly. i sent email a week ago but they replied me that they need to review the contract and policy and it takes up to 2 businessdays. i cannot understand thing is member management is using the computer program, and they can check all the information and just click cancel or such like that kind of button but they said it take 2days, worse thing is 4 businessdays(6days from mail recieved) pass, still i dont get any message from them. 30days notification is understandable because it is on contract, however, i cannot understand to process the cancellation for a week.

Gym is amazing, wow what a complex, got it all, great vibes too. Most of the staff I have interacted with a great, however the manager seems a bit rude and slow in communication.

I was enrolled to 6 weeks challenge where they said I will not be incurred any cancellation fee and can cancel any time I like after 6 weeks. There were no extra terms and conditions. But, when I went to the reception after 6 weeks and requested for cancellation. Now they told me I am in a lock in contract and have to pay for extra 30 days. I asked the guy why didn't you explain this things before I joined the club.!! He showed me the contract paper without my signature. This is nuisance to pay $49.99 for no reason. Totally unsatisfied with this behaviour.

I first joined Genesis about a year ago & have loved it ever since! The group classes & ladies gym are amazing & I got so much from the free 2 week membership at the zone when I first started. Definitely recommend 👍

Been in Genesis for over a year. Ever since I started I've been welcomed with friendliness and kindness every single day! The Genesis Bentley community is filled with the nicest people ever. The layout of the gym is beautifully designed, making it easy to find your way around the place. Did Coaching Zone with my mother, the classes are very fun yet challenging. The coaches always makes you feel hyped for the classes with their energetic attitudes. Overall this is the best gym ever and I love it 10/10 would recommend Genesis.

Honestly such an incompetent gym to deal with. Their cancellation policy is such that it needs a 1 month notice, which I had requested for over the phone. A month later I'm told that there are no notes in my account, they don't do cancellations over the phone and I need to go online, starting my new 30 day notice.

I bought a voucher from Groupon for one month trial for $15 for 2 adults. Being a senior, I thought it was cheap, so I decided to do the trial. I had done only two sessions with my friend and then the Health and Fitness Club was closed due to Covid 19. When I stopped I asked one of the staff, if I can continue once the Fitness is re-opened. He told me yes, you can continue. Today 9 June 2020, I went there, only to be told that the Groupon voucher has expired and they don't deal with Groupon anymore. To add insult to injury the male staff member told me and I quote "That voucher for $10 is not worth, as customers are paying $20 per session. I thought this was very rude. They had an agreement with Groupon and they should have honoured Groupons vouchers. They entered into the contract to sell their products to Groupon. I even told him I am Senior and he bluntly told me "We don't have any special for Seniors". Now I have to write to Groupon to explain to them that I am not happy with the way customers are being treated by Genesis because I did not bring Covic 19 to Australia. Myriam

Even it’s a NO LOCK CONTRACT membership I have to pay for 30 days for no reason. Will it take 30 days just to click on cancel button? NOBODY EXPLAINED BEFORE.

Have been associated with them for last couple of years and found highly professional team of trainers and management. I got highly personalised training mentorship and I could see results on myself now.. Highly recommended for all including those who want to get individually tailored programme from scratch.

Stay away from this one. I recently joined up with a membership, requested the start date to be scheduled from 2 weeks from date of signing the contract. Was assured this would have been done. A one-off admin fee and membership weekly fees started coming out of my account days later. Made numerous attempts to cancel before the contract was supposed to begin, emailed form intention to cancel contract, called no answer. Got time off work on Saturday to sit around for 3 hours during staffed hours when there was nobody on. Took more time off work on the following Monday to be informed that I was past the cooling-off period and there was a $300 + cancellation fee. Stated I would try to attend some days. Now I receive an email saying membership is cancelled and the fee is only $150 ? What happened, is it actually being cancelled? This isn’t in the manner and form in accordance with the contract.

You can see how well this gym was managed when there are only two treadmills working out of the whole gym for weeks, not days.
