I am 2 days out of Hollywood hospital. I was in for a gastric sleeve, my nurse on the first evening after my surgery I rang for her and asked if she could assist in disconnecting my electric compression socks so I could go to the toilet and assist me to get up. She looked at me like I was a complete inconvenience and said I need to do this on my own. This was the day of having my stomach taken out and I shouldn’t have been bending. I didn’t ring that bell at all for the next whole night as I felt like I was inconveniencing the staff. The night time nurse that night was nice but then again the following day I had issues with the other nurse. I asked if she could fill in the chart which explains who my nurses are and what I should be doing and information etc, she told “me they don’t do that around there” I had one nurse say that I could lay down flat then when I woke up a couple hours later to another nurse telling me what I was doing was wrong, I was not made feel welcome at all. For the amount of money I have paid to stay in a private hospital with a very intrusive surgery I would expect more. I didn’t have anyone coming in to assist me to walk the halls. Go to the toilet or anything there was nil to no communication other than taking my vitals and asking if I had peed. I will not be staying at that hospital again I think for the amount of money you pay to get cared for in there I was left feeling quite sad and dissatisfied. So much I called my family wanting to come home early as I felt neglected. Didn’t set me up for a good recovery at all.

I dont think I will ever go back here. Everything is so slow, from getting registered to getting ultrasound result. We arrived around 10am and it is now almost 4pm and still here waiting for the doctor to see my stepdaughter. On top of that I kept getting asked “and who are you?” In a sarcastic way. I honestly didn’t feel like my stepdaughter was looked after very well when one of the very first thing they tell you is that they charge 200 dollars to get checked by the doctor that we still haven’t seen up to this point.

Night at Hollywood private. It was 1230 am snd I was strapped to a sleep study machine on the Guerny Ward at Hollywood Hospital. An incredibly rude nurse at the request of the sleep Dr bought me a sleeping tablet. BUT, with No water so I had it dry. Then she finally offered me water. She took the thimble sized tablet dispenser and went and filled up it up in the bathroom (see pic below) with a couple of drops of water. Unbelievably terrible. Other than that the staff were amazing. This is the second time at this hospital on 2 different wards staff have behaved unprofessionally. The Hope Ward as well when I received a new knee. By the way the room cost just under $1500 for the privilege for 1 night. But no water supplied.

I’m absolutely disgusted with this hospital. 17 weeks pregnant, with serious pain in my stomach. Only to be turned away !! So much for your oath ?? Pathetic

I was admitted for a thyroidectomy and identified as a fall risk on admission( maybe due to drug allergies). Post procedure I was returned to my room in a bed with broken guard rails. We were asked to order my meal from the new room service menu- it took almost 3 hours to arrive and I had been fasting from 8am. It was 715pm when it turned up and it was over cooked salmon, undercooked broccoli and what tasted like packet mash. I was initially only given a pillow and after asking several times for more(to keep me elevated I was given 2 plastic pillows with disposable slips. At midnight after sweating it out in the stuffy hot room I was supplied with a fan and the door was left open. My pain management was limited to Panadol( due to allergies) and as an alternative the nurse on got a night script for neurofen. In the morning I requested more neurofen at 845am in between my dose of Panadol but was told I needed to have it with food. I mentioned the previous delay for food and asked if the nurse could order as ‘urgent’. I was told I had to order. She then offered me crackers as an alternative- not easy to swallow post op with a sore and swollen throat! When I called room service I was told it would be over an hour and a half to get some scrambled eggs. The operator suggested I ask the ward to make some toast, I replied that they only had crackers and was told there was nothing they could do as they were too busy. As a result I was unable to be given any pain relief. After asking to be discharged I was told my script could take two hours from the hospital pharmacy. I then offered to get it privately and then the nurse delivered it to me 20 minutes later. Post my discharge I was left in my room, I was in pain and left to fend for myself. I was left to dress and get myself out: My friend and i went past the desk to leave and nobody acknowledged us so we left. It was a horrible experience and one that I had paid dearly for. The quality of care post operatively can be greatly improved. Take note Ramsay Health!

My partner hurt her finger last weekend. Decided to pay the $250 so we didn't sit at a public hospital all day. From entering the hospital until leaving was four hours. Had to pay $120 for X-rays of her fingers. Doctors and nurses were so through and excellent. Would pay the extra to visit this hospital when needed again.

The medical facilities and doctors are great, the infrastructure such as available parking is pathetic. As an example, it took me 30 minutes sitting in a queue on a Active road to merely drive up to a ticket machine. You then need to hope and pray somebody leaves the carpark within the hour so you can enter. After that you might need to re-mortage the house to pay the parking fee

The emergency department was the best experience I’ve had in a hospital. I have a very complicated pain disorder and weak lungs. I was on my 6th lung infection in 8 months and was exhausted. Went to a public ED department a week before for the same issue and waited 4 hours to be seen and was only kept for about 20 minutes… no bloods nothing taken. I came to Hollywood ED one night desperately in pain and struggling for breath and I’m so glad I did. Unfortunately the triage nurse I had was rather rude and wasn’t compassionate at all. Once I got through though I was treated so wonderfully. The nurses were beyond beautiful and the doctor I had was the most wonderful doctor I’ve ever encountered. He treated me with so much respect and gave you his full, undivided attention. He took all my concerns seriously and I felt like he actually wanted to help. Unfortunately with my chronic illness I have come across many doctors who aren’t interested as my case is so complex. This doctor has restored my faith and I honestly can’t get over how nice it felt to be treated like a person, not just a body sitting in a bed. He helped me so much and I finally have gotten better, with not another lunch infection since. If I ever need to go to ED again, I will only be coming here. Thank you to the lovely ladies that looked after me once I was through to a bed and thank you so much to the doctor who treated me, you are an absolutely beautiful person and you were born to do what you do :)

Hope you're not hungry! It's 50/50 if your meal will even arrive! When it arrives, you better check it for the allergies you advised them of too! They lose your order and there's no set meal times! Absolutely shocking for a hospital! I desperately feel for the staff who have to serve the meals to us patients so late and incorrectly, it's not their fault. What on earth is happening in the kitchen!

I will not even give this hospital any star and they need to show it's rating in minus. Worst Hospital by all means. Patient handling is pathetic. Nightmare for families and patients. Strict inquiry is required against staff who misbehave with patients so regularly. Long waits, wrong information to patients is part of their daily practice. GUYS AVOID THIS HORRIBLE PLACE. They are with less staff and more people at their hospital. There is communication gap between doctors. They all tell you a different story.

I went to visit my friend at the palliative care unit at Hollywood Private Hospital..I entered the main entrance and I gave the name of the patient and a piece of paper was given to me without a word...there are three staff at the receptionist, they are not busy. It was a hot day, driving and trying to park there is a nightmare..I hold a piece of paper without any explanation from the lady ...I wonder why she was employed to work there if she has no compassion to help people..especially at the hospital.

A friend went to visit an elderly relative today. For some absolutely mind boggling reason she was told to discard her NIOSH approved, highly effective N95 mask at the door and don one of their badly fitting, ordinary surgical masks instead. Shameful!!! How can a hospital actively work against the best possible protection of their vulnerable patients?

A couple weeks ago I had the worst healthcare experience I have ever had with Hollywood Private Hospital. After some time to reflect and share my story with friends and colleagues, neglect is the word that I feel accurately summarises this experience and so would recommend seeking care elsewhere. For those interested, more detail below. I couldn't wait to finally get an extremely painful abscess attended to, after having to bear through the pain in Covid isolation (eventually unable to walk / waking up throughout the night). Unfortunately the GP-prescribed medication hadn't helped in the early days and after seeing my GP on the first day I could be out of isolation (Day 10), they advised that I needed to go for day surgery given the abscess size and complexity. I was referred to Hollywood Private Hospital that afternoon, and received a call from them that evening to go over what to do next. I was told I would need to wait until the next morning, and should fast from midnight just in case. Additionally I would need to have a negative RAT and arrive just before 9am. I got up early the next morning to ensure I had enough time to check-in (given my impaired movement). Produced evidence of a negative RAT as previously instructed, and began the registration process including paying the excess etc. The final task was a questionnaire, where I then discovered the hospital wouldn't be able to see me given I was only 3 days out of isolation. The hospital's policy was an additional 7 days on top of what the state mandates (i.e. 15 days post positive Covid test result). Not once was I or my GP told about this requirement. I had even checked the hospital's website before which only specifies this 15 day period for visitors, not patients. In the waiting room, whilst still in pain, I was then handed a phone where a doctor (I hadn't yet and never did meet) informed me that I would need to go somewhere else. They suggested the public hospital ED next door as they didn't have time for the extra precautions, and it was only a 10 min walk away. To top it off, when asking about a refund for the excess I had just paid, I was told that only the finance department can do this and I would need to wait for a call on Monday from them as finance doesn't work on weekends. Effectively, I was asked to leave and turned away from care whilst still in untreated severe pain. I cannot express enough the disappointment I have for this hospital. I could also tell the check in staff who attended me (and were great) had also been let down by the mismanagement of this place. While I recognise measures need to be put in place to protect others, I feel that it is a reasonable expectation to have them either aligned or at least advertised. At this stage I'm questioning if private healthcare is even worth it, or perhaps it's just the management of this particular hospital. Since the above occurred, I did end up going to the Sir Charles Public Hospital. They were fantastic and I cannot thank them enough for fulfilling their duty of care to me. Even with a significant number of patients going through and perhaps some wait time (no doubt increased due to policies such as that in place by Hollywood private), they were able to help me and I never once felt unattended or that I was an unwanted burden. I haven't yet heard back from the Hollywood private hospital's finance department about my refund. I did get a call a week later from a doctor mentioning they had received a referral from my GP about an abscess. This was the same doctor who arranged for me to be booked in the week before, I'm guessing they completely forgot, but I wasn't surprised.

Nursing care poor & total lack of supervision during showering verging on negligent. Repeated mix-up with medications. Nursing staff not following surgeons instructions. Very basic & restricted physiotherapy offered. Wonder how someone who was unable to self advocate would get on. Service cuts severely impacting quality of care. Frankly, they seem more interested in offering a restaurant style meal service...which doesn't cater for diabetics, than a professional medical experience.

Poor administration - the interaction I had over the phone with the outpatient clinic was highly transaction and with next to zero empathy. I had missed an appointment due to moving house and hadn't realised that updating medicare and all other Government information wasn't enough, and I never received the text message I was told to expect. Some degree of empathy rather than blame shifting would be appreciated, especially given I've waited almost a year for a surgery I was told initially would be seen in a few months. I've had nothing but positive interactions with other pub hospitals so I hope the clinicians are kinder than the admin staff!

Went in for a total hip replacement two weeks ago and was treated like a VIP...the service was unbelievable I can't speak highly enough of the job my surgeon and dr's did and the nurses on the ward were gorgeous and nothing was too much trouble. I was sad I only got to stay in one night but that tells you how well I felt one day out from a huge op.... congratulations to all I met and who helped me.

Please train your reception staff to deal with transgender people. They got all nervous, cut me off, and were ignorant as to how to even connect me with someone to provide a routine treatment I've gotten elsewhere with no trouble. That's just embarrassing for a hospital. Will be going to St. John's Urgent Care instead since they were great in the past.

I had shoulder surgery and eventhough my room was next to the construction site, the noise was keep to the minimum, my experience was terrific. Being a healthcate worker myself, I understand how hectic hospital can be. Right from arrival, admission, theatre, recovery and so on ...everybody were very kind and attentive, most especially the nurses, AINs and the specialists. The only thing I'd suggest is that the menu to be prefilled the night before for overnight(or more) stay to avoid waiting too long for breakfast, because sometime there is med that had to be taken with meal. Still will give 5stars. Thank you ever so kindly for the team that have looked after me.

Good food, good rooms, nurses are great except for the male nurse who made me see the light with a fast shot of morphine then proceeded to gaslit me and ask if i suffered from anxiety attacks!! I am still waiting for the hospital to call me back in regards to that - 9 months later... I spent some time in the neurology ward after getting very sick post covid - I never saw a neurologist. I am guessing Dr Badshah never read the discharge summary from Charlie Gairdner Hospital - otherwise he wouldn't have told me that I was just "stressed". After leaving Hollywood and reading my discharge summary and seeing a few untruths ie: referred to this Dr and that Dr. I decided to called the Doctors I was "referred" to in order to discover what happened to the referrals. They informed me that they never received a referral from Dr Badshah or anyone else from Hollywood. 10 days later I was back in hospital with Pancreatitis - and was under the care of Dr Kawryshanker - who didn't know why I was there - wouldn't listen to a word I was saying. Would come into my room to "tick a box" and then leave. Told my husband I was there as I wanted an operation and told me that my husband didn't want me to have an operation - both of which were wrong. I was told to go straight to emergency by a GP after he reviewed test results... I was not there to have an operation nor because I wanted to. A terrible experience I am in no hurry to repeat. Very scary Incompetence.

This wasn't a good experience. It was my first visit to the hospital & I sincerely hope it will be my last, as it was my worst experience in over thirty years. Initially asked to arrive at 6.30am, we chose to stay in a hotel nearby the night before. The day before surgery they advised me my time for arrival would now be 8.30am. Initial contact with staff was excellent, the woman who helped me was pleasant and understanding of my need for a support person due to chronic mental health/anxiety issues. She asked me my preference regarding a room and I explained that social anxiety is a big issue for me, and I would far prefer to be in a private room. Once I got into the day surgery, things began to deteriorate. The only interaction I had with staff was the initial paperwork/put on a gown part. The wait ended up being quite long but not once did staff offer a reassuring word, or advise delays had affected my surgery time. In fact, if my husband hadn't been there and taken the initiative to ask not just once, but twice as suggested times came and went, I wouldn't have had any contact from staff for more than FOUR hours. Due to the lateness of my surgery beginning (finally went in at 2.30pm) my husband had another engagement he couldn't get out of so had to leave me, despite my anxieties. If we'd known that surgery would be some SIX hours after we arrived, we would have arranged plans differently but we'd travelled up from Bridgetown for this surgery and in many years I've never had to wait so long to be taken down to theatre. We'd figured maybe three hours or so waiting time and were frustrated with both the delay and the lack of information being passed on. Surgery itself went okay, but I was quite disturbed on waking to find myself in a shared room. Not being willing to cause a fuss, I watched as one woman was presumably moved to a private room and assumed that I would be moved as soon as it was possible too. No such luck. I'm telephone phobic so ordering my own meal was an ordeal, but I was told it was the only way to get a meal as I had to order my own. Thinking that it better be worth it, I finally worked up the courage to call about ten minutes before ordering finished. Unfortunately, the meal was dreadful. I decided on porterhouse steak and besides having a big lump of fat in the centre of it, the steak was as tough as old boots and unpleasant to eat. I had mashed potatoes and vegetables on the side, both of which were average but at least hot. The cheesecake I ordered for dessert would probably have been lovely three or four days before, but it definitely had the taste and texture of a cheesecake which was well past it's best before date. The final event which made me determined to never go to this hospital again? At 11.44pm the other lady and I in the room were woken by an elderly Italian lady being brought into the room as she'd come through the emergency department with a broken leg. Besides speaking loudly and constantly, she shrieked, wailed, moaned and cried throughout the entire night. The hospital's solution to this? The overnight nurse brought me a pair of earplugs, as though that was possibly going to help. The woman apparently suffers from dementia and her daughter was with her, and while I totally understand this was a difficult situation, I wonder why with the costs of a hospital stay, I had to put up with this. Surely somewhere in the hospital they could cater for patients coming in in the middle of the night without disrupting other patients? All in all, it just wasn't good enough and I'll avoid Hollywood Private Hospital in future. In fact, I've had superior treatment in public hospitals in the past and would recommend that people seriously consider what they're getting themselves into. As to the reason I gave 2 stars? Because some of the staff (the lady who discharged me, the lady who admitted me and the lovely young porter from Kalgoorlie who had only been working there for a week) went above and beyond with their pleasant attitude and commitment to my care.

I had to try so many different phone numbers to contact the Osborne Park Hospital. Each time I called the call rang out and was disconnected. I was on the phone for 10 minutes. The reception needs a shake up and they need to learn how to use positive communication skills as the male receptionist was very rude and abrupt. I finally got through to ACAT and I received a recorded message that they would ring me back. The government say there is plenty of money in public run hospitals then why am I getting the run around. You wouldn't get this treatment ringing a private hospital. Please employ more receptionists to answer queries.

I went in for a colonoscopy, the experience is demoralising enough but the nurse who admitted me made me feel totally humiliated! (Not theatre staff or the gentlemen who took me to theatre). I’ve had two previously at other hospitals and never experienced anything like I experienced at Osborne Park!

I have to wait for more than 40 minutes at the reception. came before the appointment time leaving other stuffs but had to sit waiting. I asked the reception and was told that hospital is busy today. (Wondering, why do they make appointments then) I am still waiting here, 38 weeks pregnant and it is bit hard for me to sit.

Had to wait an hour in the waiting room. Finally got called up went into a really small room with just a curtain. Everything she was saying you could hear from outside and I could hear other patients problems too - it made me uncomfortable. Then 2 random nurses walked in as I had my top off (was showing her a skin problem I had that I didn’t really want anybody seeing) and that made me feel horrible.

Wife was booked in for a procedure originally 11am, we'd left home as it's min a 1hr drive from home, while on our way to hospital the hospital called asking can we get there earlier as the doctors running early we arrived at 10am, it's now 14.15pm my wife's waiting to be wheeled in to surgery now with me next to her, we've been in this curtained enclosed for nearly 3.5hrs and we've seen nobody. And nobody has come to see if everything is ok?? Not even an offer of tea or coffee while I wait with her, a pretty poor effort by staff while the stand at the desk. I appreciate their busy but some consideration towards waiting patients and family members with them would be nice. I'm absolutely starving thirsty but don't want to leave my wife until it's necessary, by which time I feel the cafe will be closed

Travelled up from Mandurah for a procedure only to be sent back because I previously had covid. Their policy is fifteen days after the infection and I had only done 11. This wasn't mentioned in the phone call I received for admission. I told them of my covid infection,. They then talked to a supervisor who then said I need to talk to the surgeon to see if he would go ahead. He was happy to. Better education to their staff would be a good idea.

I wasn’t a patient, but I was a student on placement at the mental health ward. Out of all the placement I went to, the nurses were the nicest here. From the minute I stepped foot into the hospital all staff were so helpful. From the ordalies, kitchen staff to the nurses and doctors. My first day I was lost I didn’t have to even ask for help one of the ordalies saw that I looked confused and came and gave me a helping hand. The Clinical facilitators were so nice and understanding and made me feel confident. All the nurses were nice, kind and helpful. The kitchen staff always offered to make me alternative food if I didn’t like any food that was made for the day. I just feel really bad that I forgot to give them a box of chocolates on my last day of prac and hope they see this review. Thankyou so much for helping me have a good placement.

I went to emergency department in hollywood private hospital at the start when we came they did not appreciate that my family came with me ask them to transfer chair. The nurse talking to me like I cannot understand, he shows me how to use the blue patient clothes. When they getting my veins they kept on tapping harshly my left arms to get blood sample, he did not used the light and when he did not see he just threw his used gloves in my bed and kept on walking, he waited for lady nurse. They told me they will admit to hospital around 10pm thats why I asked my family to go home. Around 1130pm they changed said they discharged me and give me antibiotics. I'm in front of nurse station they just passed to me until they changed nurse shift no one take out the needle drip on me. Someone told me I should be discharged by that time. I asked the nurse and she just pulled it out quickly, and I asked to give my discharged form and medical note. Its not good experience when you are in severe pain. I know they are tired and exhausted but they shoud work with compassion.

My Mother was on a public ward at this hospital. The Ward was staffed by the nurses from QE2 who had come over with the patients and their care was good. The State Government was paying Ramsay to take these vulnerable patients out of the Public system and keep them safe from Covid 19. It was obvious Hollywood considered these patients not desirable (despite being paid for their beds), meals were delivered at odd times, often very late and with little to no thought on presentation (one meal had a whole half an avocado dumped on top of a salad, Mum refused to eat it, the look of it turned her stomach). My Mother was a palliative care patient and when she died, the switchboard staff member I spoke with was very rude when I asked for help to talk with someone about releasing Mum's body to the undertaker. No condolences were offered and her tone of voice was harsh, rude and dismissive ("I don't even know who I could put you through to, to help you" in an angry voice). It was very obvious the only interest in this hospital was profit-motivated.

The catering is the dumbest i have ever seen in hospital. Meal times vary up to 2 hours from day to day. Not told there are 2 mutually exclusive ordering system. When meals were missed, no one knew. The tone of operators on the phone ordering is harsh and unapologetic. Its always your fault even when the patient did not get breakfast.

After 5 nights in Hollywood this is the sequence of events . Requested phone charger x 3 was told they had one but didn’t receive one . new medication given without explanation resulted in op being delayed 2 days . Meals were acceptable delivery times irregular . While some nurses were competent there were several that lacked what seemed like basic skills in infection control. . I have worked in the health industry for over 30 years eg managing nursing homes . Through no fault of my surgeon I found myself fasting for 3 days due to the actions at ward level . Day before discharge I was told the ward was being vacated by 1pm next day and was told my surgeon was coming to see me prior to my discharge . Unfortunately the city to surf fun run was on and surgeon to my knowledge didn’t get to the hospital . On day of discharge, I didn’t receive my scripts, discharge info or post op instructions and the nurse advised me to go and she would see that scripts were sent to me electronically, at this time the ward was empty and I felt pushed to leave. . I contacted my surgeon Sunday because I didn’t have antibiotics, he said a nurse said I had said to her I didn’t need the antibiotics and was leaving the hospital. . I requested a wheelchair and was told it would take a considerable amount of time . When I left the ward there was nobody in sight, had been closed down . On Monday morning I rang the hospital requesting discharge notes and post op instructions. I received a call back from a male person asking me questions his final comment was he believed what I said and would email info as requested . To my dismay my daughter received a call from a female informing her I had just left the hospital on my own accord. She also informed my daughter they will not email the info requested due to privacy. . I list my grievances but for anyone interested there is more I haven’t referred to Wietske Parrick 28 August 2023

Attended the ED for my mum and basically got told by the triage nurse ‘we don’t have that many specialities here, she’s better off going to a public ED. We specialise in cardiology but that’s all really.’ What an absolute waste of an Emergency Department. There’s no waiting time and you’re seen by lovely stress free staff because the service can only help a minute portion of ED presentations. Note the triage nurse was kind and professional, the staff and facility are lovely but the system is broken.

I had surgery here for a sporting injury and required an overnight stay. The nurses were amazing here! Shout out to Delta and Marie for looking after me during my stay. I can't recall the other nurses names, but everyone was so helpful and loving during this hard time for me.

Day 1 I thought Hollywood Private would be better than Joondalup because of the emergency department- wrong- the ED was quick and care was good if not a little slow. However, after my mothers transfer to the Omeara ward it went downhill. We had an erratic nurse deal with my mother with dementia - she was running around - dropping things - doing everything at a rate of knots and was rough in bed handling. I had absolutely no trust in her so I stayed the night. During the night there is1 nurse to 10 patients so it is very hard to get someone to see to the IV alarm which kept going off because cannula was not correctly fitted. The nurse disconnected it to fix the alarm but that meant no hydration. Mum was in pain the whole night - we never saw the doctor who was meant to review her pain so Mum just suffered. We could have stayed home with same result. So despite the allure of quick emergency department I would avoid at all cost- oh and the beds are awful-a thin and slumping mattress -there was no repositioning and no 4 hourly incontinence pad change. Nurses on the ward ignored family members and do not provide any info unless you continue to ask; they are unfriendly and do not look like they particularly enjoy the job. They did not particularly care for my mum - I found the nurses at Joondalup private were 100% better trained and with a better attitude. I hope we get out alive- an extremely stressful time made worse by indifferent care Day 2 Well …we have now been moved to the Percival Gratwick ward and what a difference- its like night and day - the attention and nurses have been wonderful - what a relief- they are happy helpful and really considerate of my mothers welfare. Thank you to the lovely nurses in this ward !

Went there this evening for colonoscopy. Went well. From start to finish, all staff so friendly and nice, admin, Gastro dept and doctor and nurses where I had my procedure done. Seemed over quick. Nurses in Gastro dept, so friendly esp one that attended to me tonight. Feeling good as I left...thank you all.

I want to share my experience of the following. Private Health Insurance v Public Hospital. My personal experience over two procedures. Hollywood Hospital operation under Private Top Health Insurance in Day Surgery. The worst and most disgusting process I have ever had. I went from a waiting room then told to sit in a chair in a cubicle in room full of empty cubicles with NO beds, next to the operating theatre room door. I think this would we waiting room. I walked into theatre and got in the bed. The Anaesthesiologist was so bad I wanted to get off the table. His multiple attempts to put in the dart in my hand was hurting so much I was crying. After surgery into a room. On discharged a bag full of drugs for me that I did not need. I paid for Surgeon, Anaesthetist, $500 excess, and all drugs. I cancelled my Top private health insurance I have held over 30 years. Compared to Public procedure done to day at Osborne Park hospital. Paid by my taxes. Straight to bed in Day Surgery. I stayed on my bed and wheeled to theatre. Exceptional professional staff including theatre. Zero cost to me. 100% grateful and relieved.

I am an aged pensioner. I was booked in to the hospital for a colonoscopy for March 28. By that date, I had received no information on the procedure by email (as promised) and text messages and phone calls went unanswered. On the morning of the scheduled procedure I received a phone call asking why I hadn't shown up. The administration of the hospital is non-functional.

This morning I had a gastroscopy procedure at this hospital. Care was second to none. From admissions through to the actual procedure, staff, nurses, surgeon were so courteous and informative I felt at ease throughout the whole process. My sincere appreciation to all in attendance. Cant praise the maternity unit and all the midwives and staff there enough. From my first antenatal appointment I was put at ease and right up until labour and delivery the staff have been outstanding. Very professional, caring and empathetic staff. So glad we had our baby there and a big thank you to everyone who works there especially to the midwife two team. You guys are amazing at what you do.

Great and sophisticated. It’s nothing here to compare with messy “Joondalup Health Campus “. It was the right choice to move to Osborn Park Hospital from Joondalup Health Campus for my ongoing treatments and operations . All staffs from A to Z deserve this 5⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️review!

@radiology (a woman at reception and a supervisor, male) 18/01/2019 -4:12pm The worse customer service ever! They refused to do the scan because I was 12min late after 2 weeks waiting for that which at the time of booking I mentioned I might be little bit late due to my work. Today also I spoke with the reception before I get there and I mentioned I'll be 10 minutes late but when I got there they refused to do the scan. Such a time wasters! Someone have to look at this kind of matters.

Had a one night stay at HPH and best hospital experience ever. The room was better than some hotels I've stayed in and every doctor, nurse and support staff worker I met was so professional, helpful and remarkably upbeat given the hard work these guys do. Even the food was good, so highly recommended if you have a choice of hospital.

Im not one to use this to rate experiences, more to read other peoples views, but after attending Hollywood Endoscopy Suite, I'm sharing my own views. From the friendly helpful receptionists, (both the surgeon and clinics) to the warm caring nurses, to the smiley orderly, to the understanding reassuring anaesthetist, to the friendly assistant/nurse in theatre, to meeting Dr Micheal Bray with his easy going warmth and friendliness, my experience was five star!! The recovery lounge and attentiveness afterwards was so well coordinated and pleasurable too. Being my first time I feel very fortunate to have encountered such warm caring professionals and they are a huge credit to themselves and the hospital. Thank you again.

The most painfully long day I’ve experienced at a hospital before. Nurses were inconsiderate. Been here 9 hours for a 40min operation. Nurses misplaced my med chart so I’m post op without any medication for the pain. Feeling helpless and frustrated

This hospital and their staff are excellent. They looked after my very sick mother with a caring and very professional manner. They are all very friendly and my mother recovered in "quick time" and exceeded our expectations largely due to the quick and accurate diagnosis then the care and physio all conducted with a high level of competence. This includes the emergency, ICU and the ward. Ie. The whole package - faultless. Thoroughly recommend.

No one likes to go to hospital, let’s be honest. But if you have to go, try and get to Hollywood Hospital. I had a day surgery yesterday and from the moment I walked in to the moment I left I was made to feel like I was the only person that had to look after. The nurses on the ward, the orderlies who moved me to everyone I interacted with was 100% professional but also with a sense of humour when it’s called for. I could not be more happy to thank them all and to recommend Hollywood Hospital for any procedure needed.

This is getting ridiculous…I understand that there are/were Covid restrictions in place for certain places. But there are circumstances that don’t fit around your short visiting hours. You’d think you’d have some more compassion given you are a hospital. Covid does not cease to exist between 4 and 7pm. You don’t even make sure visitors are out by 7 anyway, and you don’t check the date of the rat test evidence. Your door staff are incredibly rude and difficult to understand. Very frustrating and just makes difficult times worse at a place no one wants to be in the first place. So disappointing from a hospital that previous I would have given 5 stars to. Everyone else is moving on and learning to live past Covid.

I have been reading some other reviews with some alarm this morning. First - my bouquets. Some of the nursing staff are truly amazing and really try and give time to their patients. Most of the doctors I have seen have been very helpful, but the Indian lady, whose name I can't pronounce was matter-of-fact, to the point and really "got" me." Special thanks to Olivia the physio. Now, my concerns - I understand that the workload for nurses is high, however, I am an anxious 61 year old woman day 3 after a knee replacement. I need reassurance and that is why I have brought my husband in as my support person/boarder. Only one nurse has asked about Michael's well being. Being a support person is not a cushy job... The acute pain team has also been most compassionate and competent. I was very scared with the concept of getting my regional pain block removed this morning and having appropriate pain management. I also had nausea and vomiting plus diarrhoea and have been very drowsy up until this morning, which was unexpected and confusing. Now recognition of my issues is improving today. Thank you to Maryanne and Brad of the pain team. Food - "trial room service" has been patchy. Looks great on the menu, but mostly cold and overcooked. Choose carefully. No lactose free milk for first three days, when I was told it would be supplied. Explained some of the diarrhoea. Also stopped drug that was contributing to my discomfort. Maintenance - manhole in the bathroom was left open. Safety and duty of care issue. I hope I have explained why I have given only 3 out of 5 stars. Yours sincerely, Kate Sofoulis

I was rushed to Hollywood Hospital from Rockingham Hospital Saturday night with Bradycardia at 32.resulting for me to have a Pacemaker, I was terrified but, soon felt better with the care I got from the nurses. They made me feel special and very attentive. The room was comfortable, food was good and arrived as soon as you ordered it, radiology was well handled no waiting.

Had a two night stay there after surgery. The rooms where you are put just after admission are very old and desperately need upgrading. The bathrooms are disgusting with rust stains all over the sinks etc. The private rooms after your surgery are beautiful! Total contrast to the first room. It was just like being at a hotel. The staff were lovely and so caring.

The admitting nurse was soft spoken but efficient and very helpful. After the procedure you get nice sandwiches, coffee, thee, fruit juice, cracker and cheese. As soon as your next of kin arrives one of the nurses walks you out making sure you feel okay. All in all good experience.

Please I beg you do not bring your loved ones to this hospital I’ve been in here 4 weeks came in for a suspected Insulinoma and had a picc line put in I then got clots in my arm and a serious infection. The doctor looking after me at that time told me it was my fault that I got a blood clot and an infection I had a family member here and heard it too this Dr was so rude and made me feed so terrible I still can’t lift my arm properly and I’m feeling very sick. Dizzy nauseous, severe headaches and severe pain in my arm. The nurses here are so busy and understaffed that most days it takes ages for them to come and see you and give you medication, when you ring the bell there is no communication to your doctors.either so you need to talk to your Dr yourself My surgeon didn’t even know that I had been so unwell these last three days food is always missing and you have to make you’re own coffee and tea and now want to send me home although I can’t wait to go home because being in hospital is awful, but I am scared for my life to go home with blood clots in my arm and feeling so unwell but you’re really on your own in here. I have an amazing surgeon looking after me but as for the rest of the hospital it’s just a nightmare I’m only writing this because I really don’t want anyone else’s loved ones to go through this and I would never allow my children or loved ones to come to this hospital , I don’t even know what to do whether I leave here and go to another hospital as I’m worried for my life, especially with the blood clots you are made to feel like a burden when you ask for help whoever owns this hospital really needs to do something because it’s not acceptable. We actually pay for private health and I would’ve been better off going to a public hospital which I might still have to do. I know this is very risky writing this while I’m still in here, but I am actually so worried about my health and my family is so anxious about me and like I said before I just don’t want anyone else’s loved ones to go through what I’ve gone through. It’s just not good enough. full stop my gp is also very concerned I really hope this helps someone to not go through this PLEASE CONSULT WITH YOUR DR YOURSELF you have to be you’re own advocate it’s just ridiculous

We are very happy with the wonderful and benevolent team at the hospital - special thanks to Vicky, Chris, Sharon, Lucy, Colin, Lacie & Elaine🙏Our baby was tiny and got caught by the umbilical cord, the team paid an extra attention to the heart rates. Eventually, they assisted my wife to go through a cesarean, and it was very smooth and professional. We will never forget about your kind support, guys!! In addition, the hospital is situated only a couple min from the highway, and easy access for parking areas 🚙

I am not sure what other have experienced, being late or poor communication. My treatment went well and I felt safe and secure. I was asked a number of times to confirm who I was and what I was having done just to confirm there was no mix up or they got the wrong person. I had never been to this hospital before and the thing that made me laugh when driving there was the sign that said "no emergencies" as there is no A & E Department. This hospital is purely for the standard procedures for patients. Good experience and money well spent 👍

During my stay in hospital, it certainly wasn’t the experience I had expected for a private hospital. The night shift pain meds weren’t handled properly. Resulting in my surgeon ordering a reset of drugs. Whilst most of the teams were on point there appeared to be a tick the box approach with some other team members. When pain management was with my meds I mentioned to shift nurse about the change and I was told no they haven’t! No apology when it was checked I was correct! Dizzy faint spells I was left without support for 3/4 of an hour. Catheter was supposed to be removed in the morning and wasn’t done til late afternoon. First time showering after four days of strong meds and I was left on my own. Nurse voiced her concern about having to do a redressing and said it was an expensive waste of a dressing! Other staff were brilliant physio on the ball seeing my distress. Night nurse working swiftly when I suffered chest pain. Senior and long term staff had much more time and empathy and surgical and pain management staff brilliant. Shame it was spoiled by relief staff.

But was told not to worry they would ring me when I went home with an appointment for test and appointment with specialist. Well 15 days later nothing . It seems once you’ve left the hospital that’s it. I wonder if my gp has recieved my notes . I don’t hold out much hope . I’ll find out when I see her .PS STILL WAITING TO BE CONTACTED, I sent my details . I just hope I don’t have a problem with my heart that should have been properly investigated.. very disappointed. Why should I have insurance. Pay the extra and have absolutely NO follow up with essential test and specialist appointments. Not happy Jan

I presented to the nurse at emergency with chest pains and I have aneurisms. I got told they would not accept me as there was no heart specialist that would ascot a cash out to come in. Got told to go to Charles Gardner. I then had to go outside and get an Uber to CGH. Very poor for a hospital to do this!!! Appears they send people in to CGH often. I had private health insurance as well.

Photo of map at main reception (bottom left) - 04AUG23 Main reception opens at 0600 they are very helpful with directions that are printed and send you on your way to respective locations. For longer stays, I would recommend a roller bag if you can because you cover some distance on the transit to wards. Staff are friendly and professional, happy to have a chat, but quick and efficient. Staff 10/10 Facilities 10/10 Parking 7/10 (only because of walking distance, if you are dropped off, it is fine)

We arrived at the hospital at 8 a.m. for my wife's varicose vein surgery. We followed all of the instructions, checked in, made payment, changed clothes and waited. The nurse told us that the operation scheduled about 11 a.m. We transfered to the holding area at 11 a.m. and had been told that the operation will be very soon. At about 12 p.m. , the surgeon doctor came out and told us that because he run out time the surgical method need to be changed to laser method. We had the choice to go home or sign the consent form for the change. She had no choice. Waiting for another 2 hours, we came back to the first area at 2 p.m. My wife slept on the hospital bed and let the staff push her around and around. During this period, no one explained or consoled us. At 3 p.m., someone finally called my wife into the operating room. After entering the operating room, my wife said that she did not see her doctor, the attending doctor, but another male doctor. No one informed her that the doctor had changed. We waited for a long 7 hours from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Although the initial plan was informed in detail, but due to hospital's poor time management and change in surgery method, everything was done in rush. There was no further explanation of the medication we were taken. During the whole process, no one at the hospital comforted, explained, or guided us. It feels so bad that the hospital is in disarray and everyone is impatient. Before discharge, a nurse gave my wife 3 pills, which caused my wife to vomit non-stop when she got home. She vomited everything she ate and drank. Normally, my wife’s gastrointestinal digestion is very good. We regret coming to this hospital. We are deeply dissatisfied with this hospital. Fortunately, God bless my wife is still alive.

Had a great experience with the day surgery unit. All the nurses were exceptionally nice & caring. Felt cared for from start of admission to discharge. Extra shoutout to nurses working afternoon shift on 04/10.

Absolute joke, booked in at 11am and it took them nearly 12 hrs to organise me a bed with constant asking about when it would be sorted as I needed to stay with my daughter. All paperwork was filled out. Then they bring in a fold out bed with a paper thin mattress at 10.30pm and I still had to ask for sheets and blankets. Uncomfortable as hell this bed and going to be a shocking nights sleep. Pay big money for discussing service.

Absolutely disgusting behaviour from staffs. They have kicked my dad out of HIS room for wanting to see the specialist. Food was dry and disgusting. The place needs to get cleaned, the toilet my dad had was absolutely gross. The seat was not cleaned, it was all dirty. Staff needs to learn to be more understanding and nicer to patients. Will not return EVER.

Stayed overnight for surgery and could not be happier with the level of kindness and professionalism from all staff from admission to discharge. Everyone was very friendly, approachable and supportive. Room and bathroom were very clean and tidy, food was delicious and staff were continually checking in.
