My young daughter had major dental work through Bicton and Cockburn Paediatric Dentistry at Southbank Day Surgery last week. I could not fault the customer service, professionalism and ability to put children at ease. Special thanks to Dr Joy Huang, Dr Phil Russel, Nurse Cielito, Fiona Zele, the recovery room nurse and general staff. It was the small touches that made all the difference to my daughter, from the Southbank Day Surgery colouring book, large range of age appropriate toys in the waiting room, getting to choose the flavour of the sleeping gas and unicorn balloon on discharge. Thank you to everyone involved for making a highly stressful and emotional day as a parent, as positive and smooth sailing as it could be.

Really professional and a great experience when my son had his teeth removed at Southbank Day Surgery for orthodontic treatment last week. The staff were lovely and it felt very relaxed. Great location and easy parking too.

My toddler had her dental surgery here on Tuesday. The nurses, dentist and anaesthetist were outstanding and genuinely seem to enjoy the work. Everyone is friendly and accommodating. My daughter was hard work on the day of the surgery (understandably) but everyone was still amazing. Thank you everyone who helped on the day. What would have been an incredibly anxious day of my toddlers first GA and dental work was made easy because of the incredible team at Southbank day surgery. Thank you so much.

From the minute I walked in the door the service at SOUTHBANK DAY SURGERY was absolutely 5 star! Friendly, caring, compassionate (I am a needle phobe/very anxious) and this hospital visit for my tooth extraction was the best I have ever had! The secretaries/desk staff, the wonderful concierge Janine (apologies if name is misspelled) and the amazing doctors/nurses, especially the person who held my hand whilst going under - thank you from a very grateful patient. The follow up phonecall to make sure I was ok and that I understood my discharge instructions - appreciated!! I have recounted my positive experience at Southbank Day Surgery to many people since my discharge. Please thank everyone who made the day an enjoyable one instead of the traumatic one I was envisaging. THIS is healthcare/patient CARE! Warmest regards, Kerry

A month ago I had rhinoplasty at Southbank Day Surgery. The reception staff are so lovely and friendly and helpful and have a very pleasant welcoming manner which is very much appreciated when you're feeling a bit anxious. The nurses were really great and I felt very safe in their care. The hospital was so very quiet and relaxing, I didn't hear any noise or see any other patients, it was a very pleasant atmosphere. I highly recommend this hospital and all of it's wonderful staff. Thankyou Southbank Day Surgery.

The nurse who made this visit traumatic needs to be replaced with staff educated about the rights of disabled people to have their carer or support worker with them until surgery. Disabled people also don't need to explain their disability or why the carer is needed. They also do not need to be told it's only children who are entitled to an accompanying support person and that to ask isn't fair on others. And when staff are told not to approach the distressed person and carer in the carpark as they don't want to talk, it's not an opportunity to grab a mate and go beard them sitting crying in their car. TWICE. These are serious and even illegal systemic discriminatory issues.

Here with distressed patient. We experienced nasty discrimination being asked why we needed a carer/support worker then being denied one. A scary nurse chased a disabled person out to carpark and attempted to chat twice AFTER being asked not to approach. Disabled person had to wind up windows in the heat and turn their back twice in self defence. Scary. Even the brilliant reception staff can't make up for that.

My son had a dental procedure here under GA last week and it was a great experience, wonderful nurses in pre surgery and also in recovery, as well as our great dental surgeon and anaesthetist. A lovely day surgery practice where we all felt very cared for.

Recently had my wisdom teeth removed here and every person you speak too at this day surgery is so kind and helpful. Right through from Reception to Aftercare, I get really anxious going under general anaesthetic and the nurses were so calming and always made sure I was doing okay. Nothing was too hard for them!

My daughter had day surgery at southbank. My daughter woke up from sedation and had a big melt down she is 2 and can't express her emotions properly and was clearly in pain it was a paediatric ward the staff should be well prepared for situations as such instead i got remarks and looks one nurse made a face and raised her eyebrows then we basically got kicked out they didnt even wait for my daughter to have any fluids my daughter was still very distressed and they expected me to pick her up and carry her straight out to the car park in the middle if it all. it was like my daughter was a burden and disrupting everyone else. Very disgusted!

Booked time off work for my son's surgery. Morning of, I get a message to call them and they tell me "sorry, we've had staff call in sick, the surgery has been cancelled". Seriously, a private hospital that doesn't have staff on call to cover shifts??? What a joke!!

My 9 year old daughter was in for dental work today, and we were both pretty anxious leading up to it, but from the moment we walked in, staff were absolutely amazing. Making us feel super comfortable and always reassuring us on what was going to happen, always willing to listen to our needs and questions. Highly recommend this amazing place, especially for little ones who are anxious and nervous. Such a relaxing atmosphere. Very professional and respectable team. Can't recommend them enough.

Highly recommend the staff are so friendly and caring. We live remotely and had to travel for my son’s surgery, all the staff at the hospital went above and beyond from me booking appointments in advanced up until we got released from hospital yesterday. It was my sons first surgery and they made us feel so comfortable from the time we got there to the end, highly recommend thank you so much to the staff at the hospital especially to the doctor, nurses, receptionist , anaesthetic and. Dental surgeon that cared for my son yesterday we are extremely grateful

The staff at the surgery go above and beyond. From the reception to the release. Us parents were given warm blankets while we waited for our children as the foyer was cold. All the staff go above and beyond. We had a great experience with our sons surgery here!

The hospital staff are lovely but it just seemed very rushed. They had no beds so I was waiting on a garden chair. After surgery they had me out of the surgery room and changed/ discharged in the span of 30minutes. It felt as if after the surgery they wanted you out of there. Considering I was paying for a service it seems it could have been a little better. There are public hospitals that treat their patients better than Southbank. I also found it concerning that the nurse wasn't certain about whether or not my current antibiotics could be taken in conjunction with prescribed medications, specifically the antibiotics they recommended. Based off previous reviews I doubt I'll get a reply, overall it was disappointing.

Southbank Day Surgery Centre was magnificent. From the reception right through the whole experience the Doctor, Anesthetist, Nurses and other staff were truly professional excellence, friendly, patient, helpful, knowledgeable and couldn't do enough for me. I couldn't have been in better hands and the staff are special. I would strongly recommend this centre. Staff also gave me a follow-up phone call the next day to see how I was.

Impressed with highly experienced opthamologist, professional anaesthetist and medical team, giving personal and compassionate care. Amazing level of nursing care, organised admin staff, clean and well presented day surgery.

Went to Southbank for some dental surgery for my daughter. She enjoyed her experience that much she wants to go back. Couldn't ask for a nicer group of staff. Thehy should be proud of the great work they're doing. Everything went perfectly from the minute we arrived until the aftercare was complete. Special mention to Dr Craig Simms and Dr Jane Ho.

Very positive experience. Had my dental surgery here. It was quick well organised. I didn't feel a thing and the procedure was over. It's not too busy, and very relax feel at this place. If you have an option to pick your own hospital for any surgery. I would recommend this place.

Our son who is aged 41 and has special needs attended this day surgery on 7th June 2016 for dental surgery - removal of five teeth under general anaesthetic . The staff were very caring and professional allowing him to stay several hours longer than normal because of his epilepsy and the extra time he needed to recover from the anaesthetic. At all times the concern and caring of the staff put us at ease and we came away feeling very positive about the whole experience.

I have had right and left eye cataract surgery at Southbank Day Surgery. Being greeted at the door and then treated as if I was the only person there, was very reassuring and relaxing. All the staff were friendly and concerned for my comfort and wellbeing and the explanations they gave were very helpful. They also followed up the next day which was appreciated. Would definitely recommend Southbank Day Surgery.

I had some dental work done today under general and every single person in this professional surgery was absolutely amazing. Couldn’t fault a single thing. Thank you to everyone, I feel well cared for and glad I went through with the procedure.

I had to attend the Southbank Day Surgery for an eye operation. I spent approximately two hours in the hospital of which were 1 1/2 hours waiting time and approximately 1/2 hour in surgery for my operation. For this I had to pay the amount of Au $ 1489.00. I consider this daylight robbery, as I am not able to claim anything back from Medicare. Therefore I cannot recommend this hospital.

😠 Have your surgery somewhere else. I worked here for 2 months. The building is falling apart. The roof leaks in the theatres. The staff are rude and will literally treat you as a number. The nurses are the only nice thing about this place.
