Where else can I go ? What else can I do except come here ? God help us if we ever get a real emergency like a plane crash or gas explosion or something, this system just can't cope. NO CAPACITY ! Had to drop daughter off as she had a pain in her gut that "felt like a laser cutting her in half". No pain relief for hours and hours. I think if I went to a vet I would get faster help at that stage and I wouldn't let a dog suffer like that. I am angry, really angry about how this system let her down. Where is the effing empathy ? I can appreciate that this is during covid, but common we have had 2 years to prepare for this. Waited for over an hour and finally gave up on an ambulance, put her (with difficulty) in the back of my car lying down with no seatbelt and drove down to emergency. What century are we living in ? Are we in some 3rd world country or in a war zone ? Certainly feels like it. I don't know where the fault lies here, all I know is it's not working. Why ? Money ? People ? Seemingly overly complicated and bureaucratic systems that are more concerned with getting your name rank and serial number before actually treating you ? Which country do I need to move to to get a system that can work for our family ? This is a 3rd world grade system. Great job all you "professionals". Fairy claps all round.

Waited 3 hours without seeing anyone. My GP sent me there as I have a chunk of metal lodged in my eye that’s gone rusty and the pain is excruciating. Couldn’t sit there any longer as was told it could still be a while before I’m seen. May as well lose the vision in my left eye and be in pain in the comfort of my home. Staff were not in any hurry whatsoever and were more interested in socialising with each other. Useless!!

As soon as I walked through the door the staff were immediately rude to me, the receptionists/nurse told me I wasn’t sick before doing any testing, because I provided her with my symptoms she did not believe we’re good enough for emergency services. I arrived at 5am and was still not called in by 6am so I left. This is a service that is supposed to help people and I was treated very badly. Disgusting, will neve be coming back.

Bought my son here tonight after a football injury. Even so they may think all is ok they take every Precaution to make sure he gets the best care. Great hospital, great doctors and amazing staff members. Not that I wish anyone needs to go to hospital but if you do need to go this hospital is high on the list of one you want to be at.

Wife had a tumble taken to ED, broke her shoulder internal problems etc etc. The staff are absolutely 💯 super heroes. If you imagine what the perfect hospital and its angels are, then St John of God Midland ♥ is it. All the visits we make there are always stress free. We are all so lucky to have you.

I recently presented at the ED at Midland Hospital for a head trauma. My GP recommended that I have a Head CT as the wounds were very deep, in fact you could see the skull bone, and he was very concerned about bleeding on the brain. The triage nurses were fantastic and had me taken down to Radiology were a female from that department turned me back and told the nurse accompanying me to put me through the other door. After 30 minutes I was taken to sit in the inside triage area where I sat for 6 hours awaiting a review of my wound. The doctor who I eventually saw, immediately asked if I had had a CT and finding I hadn’t immediately set up the appointment. Things moved more quickly after this 4 hours after the CT scan the would was stitched, 19 stitches and I left the hospital. My suggestion If you have a serious injury avoid Midland ED and drive to RPH or even Charles Gardiner. Coal face staff are friendly but very overworked. Mc Gowan says there is no problem. Put him in the ED and see what he has to say then

My last review was deleted for some reason. I will try again. I came into the Emergency Department suicidal. I was kept for 26 hours in Critical Care and then discharged because I wasn't a priority and they didn't have enough beds to move me. I made it clear I was still suicidal and they did not care, they still discharged me without transferring to a mental health ward. They said again, that there wasn't enough beds in the mental health wards situated around Perth. Thanks Midland.

Wow this was an unexpected visit to the ED Wednesday evening at 10:30pm- approx 14 people seated and we were triaged by the loveliest nurses immediately and efficiently. The nurse later took all OBS in less than an hour - we didn’t get out of there until 3 am but that’s honestly to be expected. Female Doctor we saw provided relevant info and medication. But truthfully the Triage process was outstanding ! Thanks ladies for letting us charge our phones too ! ⭐️ You all deserve more praise ✨ Thanks 🙏🏻

The nurses, doctors, x ray technician, and admission personnel were all amazing!!! Empathetic, clear on options and going out of their way to help where they could. The wait was unfortunately very long due to resources and emergencies. I was however checked in on every now and then and asked how they could help. Someone even went to fetch my partner to explain the situation as it unfolded. Sharron, Natalie, Casey, Tina, Margaret, Anoosh, and the 3 other medical gentleman in Ortho thank you so much!!! Grateful thanks for the expert care in trying times and circumstances.🙏❤️ Best wishes to you all,✨ Liezl

If I could give minus stars I would. Absolutely disgusting place. I'd have been happier with no care than the so called "care" provided here.. Family made to leave with a seriously ill family member not expected to live through the night due to what we were told was strict management policy. Despite repeatedly attempting to explain there was no transport available at midnight. Staff were unconcerned one family member would be sleeping in my car due to having no other options & wanting to have immediate access to their loved one after flying in from interstate. Just making a horribly traumatic situation even worse which we didn't think could be possible. A couple of lovely caring nurses beside that but noone willing to use any common sense or empathy towards patients & their family. All about following policies they were unwilling or unable to justify. Terrible place, avoid at all costs if possible please 🙏

I made the decision to go here because I had glass stuck in my foot. I was prepared to wait a couple of hrs to be seen but not 5 hours. A doctor never saw me, no health care staff even attempted to try and pull it out. No advice on what to do, no questions on whether I had a recent tetanus shot, no referral to see someone else, nothing but an x-ray which clearly wouldn't show much. I basically went in there for no care whatsoever. The nurse told me to go home and wait for it to come out. Really? Isn't an emergency hospital suppose to treat patients. I had to go see a podiatrist to pull out the glass which could have got infected. What a useless place Midland emergency is.

I would like top congratulate the staff at Midland St John of God emergency department. There is always a long wait but that is understandable from the amount of people that go through there, im no expert in this field but it seems to me that alot of people come with there symptoms not an legitimate emergency. This is what i can see is why there is a long wait, the staff there were run off there feet and did the best they possibly could to help everybody. i ended up with a female Dr Ashlea Fox in which i would particularly want to congratulate for her patience, kindness, bubbly personality especially under the circunstances being in servere pain with a broken arm she made me laugh and reassured. What a lovely person, a big well done.

Waited 5 hrs to see a doctor for severe kidney stone pain and told to wait for another 5 hours. Even 3rd world countries have a better health system than here. Completely inhumane!! YOU GUYS DON'T DESERVE A SINGLE STAR.

Mixed bag really - some very personable nursing staff which were great vs some staff that didn’t know what they were doing, overall rated a 3 as I was not provided any clear answers - one nurse telling me results of scans only to be told something very different by another; one doctor giving me a diagnosis and then another telling me again something completely different. I now need to go to my gp and find a specialist for referral to due to having no real Diagnosis and no real assistance. Oh except they did offer to refer me to a physio program that runs during normal business hours - are all patients in midland ED unemployed? Actually are all doctors in midland patronising ? More the point …. Will endevour not to return to this hospital if I can help it - one of the lowest rating spots on the list

I have worst ever experienced with the emergency department. I went there with severe lower abdominal pain last night. All staff including nurses doctors were so unprofessional. I was in pain and doctor and staff was busy with one child and they all forgot that I was in the emergency department as well. Doctor came after 3 and half hours. No body even bother if need any water or anything for 13 hours. They really need improvement in their service. It's really disappointing

Although the staff are nice, I went in a few months ago with a CT scan referral from my doctor and was refused as “nothing was showing in my blood” and “we don’t want to effect the risk of you having child” (even after I begged). I have been dealing with severe nausea and stomach/abdominal pain for over a year now and everytime I go in I’m never taken seriously or looked any further into than blood and urine.

I was 2 short stay unit for Acute appendicitis and the staff were absolutely amazing I was so grateful and impressed with our public system. Clean, efficient and kind staff. Special thanks Dr Vanitha Budhavaram con, Dr Elsabagh ,healing hands, Very competent doctors are there. The service, support and care I received recently were excellent. Couldn't fault it, and the doctors and nurses did all they could to reduce my pain and ensure I was well enough to leave. fantastic Staff was really great and friendly. Thank you all.

I took my 85 year old mum to the emergency with a suspected shingles outbreak. Although we waited just under two hours, the triage staff were always courteous and kept an eye on everyone that questioned their wait. Yes, my mum had shingles, but the doctor gave her a script and her service of my mum was commendable.

I had an absolutely terrible experience here. It was my first time ever in an emergency department and honestly was the worst experience you could imagine. I sliced my toe open and was prepared to wait for help but not for nearly 15 hours. I was kept overnight for no reason at all, was given no pain relief (even though I asked three times for some), was forgotten about in a room by myself (the nurse didn't show me where the call button was or even ask me if i needed anything) and they didn't even clean the wound. The management was in shambles. I am truly disgusted by this place and recommend absolutely no one EVER.

My daughter was taken in by ambulance at 10.30 this morning. She was left waiting in the green area with vomiting and diahrea for 6 hours. She was dehydrated. It is now 10 pm. Nearly twelve hours later and she is still in emergency!! I have just rang to see what is happening and the doctor said she will ring me back in 15 minutes, as she wants to review her. Omg. Fantastic medical system we have. It's like being in a third world country. So disappointing.

Fantastic caring staff. Although there was a couple of staff members that could use a refresher in their bedside manner. Doctors were wonderful.

The service, support and care I received recently were excellent. Couldn't fault it, and the doctors and nurses did all they could to reduce my pain and ensure I was well enough to leave. A big difference from my visit, two years ago, where the care was terrible and I ended up leaving whilst still very sick.

This hospital is only a few years old with the distinction of being a training hospital. The staff are professional and respectful of their patients. Besides having both private and public wings they house a mental health unit with equally incredible service. The hospital is located on Clayton Street about 1 kilometre from the Midland town Centre. The 4 story establishment has well over 300 beds. 28 beds in the ED plus 12 in an adjoining area. The entire 4th floor is dedicated to the Mental Health field where all the professionals and patients are located. The eastern corner of the hospital is dedicated to ambulances for easy access to the emergency room and is spacious enough to have multiple ambulances use the facilities at the same time. For family members that wish to accompany their loved ones whilst in the hospital have the quest hotel which is only five minute drive away and was partially purpose-built for that reason. There is a beautifully presented reception for you with wooden staircases leading up to the first floor, also a cafeteria for all your dining needs Midland is slowly getting a facelift and the hospital certainly has contributed it’s part in this process.

Very good service. Yes, I had to wait a long time but it is worthy of the wait. The doctor did all the tests necessary and i am pleased with the communication.
