I was somewhat excited to experience being a patient at Bethesda. Although completely nervous regarding my procedure - I had read and heard good reviews. Sorry to say but my experience was absolutely awful. My oxygen was ripped out from under my nose rudely. The nurse did not like the fact my BP was 90/50 and made it out to be my fault and fussed like I needed to get moving. (If I am not believed of this situation, ask the other staff member that she was taking over from Because I observed her face) I literally just came out of the operation...I have no idea why my BP is low. She says get up go to the toilet...which of course I would if I knew how. I just had my ACL operated on. The staff were complaining there was not enough staff to help. I was late to the holding bay and it was rushed... My leg did not get a wash with the pre op wash because they did not have time to wait for me. (I was there in time but no one came to room to do admission Until after the orderly was ready and waiting to take me). I was never offered help or even asked to have a shower The next morning or at any time and when it was the morning again rushed to leave & literally kicked out without breakfast. 1 visitor could only come between 2 & 8pm...due to covid. That’s Fair enough! However, If someone has covid won’t they have covid in the morning and afternoon?? I do not get the concept...1 visitor is acceptable but should they not be allowed at anytime to help since there is not enough staff. If the patient has that one visitor they can actually get help with morning rituals and dressing showing ect. Taking the stress from nurses. My leg was left uncovered, without compression because the nurses could not get it on After taking the lovely bandage off and did not have time to get a bigger one before I left. I felt neglected and literally cried for two days regarding my experience. The other thing was I kept calling for pain relief and although got something never felt full relief. This may or may not be nurses issue but again I don’t feel in a hospital setting after an operation I should be in heaps of pain. I’d actually feel concerned if I had to go back to this hospital. Would not recommend this hospital at this time. :(

The staff are friendly and helpful. The true issue is one incorrigible lady (I think the woman in charge) displaying utterly shameful attitudes and enforcing nonsensical rules upon grieving families. What a disgrace. Whoever enables this hag has a nice big scratch on their basic humanity.

From my arrival, admission, operation, recovery & discharge, optimum & utmost service and care given. Thank you to all involved, especially Verity in Recovery, Janet & Susan in the Riviera Ward - these women deserve so much praise. Smooth transition back to health.

When you first enter Bethesda Hospital you immediate get the feeling that this is a well-run hospital. From the efficient registration service, to happy volunteers and the efficient ward nurses it simply just all works to make the patient feel at ease. Staff repeatedly stated to me that they actually enjoy coming to work. A special mention for Nurse Christina on the first floor ward, who was compassionate, professional and very understanding. A real credit to the nursing profession.

My wife was a patient recently at Bethesda Hospital and we were reassured by several people it was a very nice, understanding and caring hospital which was reassuring to hear, but I must say we were disappointed in certain aspects of my wifes treatment and it was her wish to post these comments and family totally agreed with her - I have spoken to the nursing coordinator to express my concerns in which she was apologetic - RIP my love...

Just been a patient at Bethesda. I was very impressed! Being a nurse, I know what I am talking about! All the staff were professional, efficient and very caring. From the admissions clerks, volunteers, orderlies, PCAs and especially all the nurses in Day Procedure, theatres and Riveriera ward. The hospital is so clean and everyone was attentive to hand hygiene. The food was amazing and my room with a view was more like a posh hotel! Thank you for looking after me!

I've worked for 30 yrs in a WA govt Hospital and i can honestly say I've never seen such amazing detail to cleanliness as I have seen at Bethesda. Everthing spotless, professionalism from all the staff, well trained, well groomed from the PCA's to the surgeons. Quality care 👍.

Great docs, nursing staff but a total commercial business. Will recommend for any complex procedures but for minor things, save money and chose your local day surgery. Major drawbacks are no medical dispensary, limited hour coffee shop and it's mostly a palliative care hospital.

Highly Recommend this hospital I had shoulder surgery and i spent 1 night in hospital. The staff in the Riviera ward are without a doubt the best nurses I've had the privilege of meeting. Lisa, Janette and Sarah are fantastic nurses that go above and beyond in their role. It's the second time I've stayed at Bethesda and i can't speak highly enough of these wonderful ladies. Thank you Lisa, Janette and Sarah for looking after me.

I had a day procedure. The admission procedure and other processes were efficient. But more importantly the staff, principally Nurse Lorna, were gentle and caring. I am very grateful for the care I received today.

Two surgeries to date at Bethesda. All the staff members were professional and extremely understanding and caring, immediately putting me at ease and helping me manage my anxiety. The hospital itself is maintained to an outstanding level. We are so blessed to have such high-quality healthcare in Australia. .

We were so lucky my father was transferred to the Bethesda palliative care team in his final days and I can’t praise the staff and medical team enough. Every aspect of their service, from my fathers care down to the emotional support they provided the family was wonderful. Thank you to all the wonderful staff.

I have just had surgery at Bethesda Hospital and stayed over night. I cannot recommend this hospital highly enough. The staff are absolutely wonderful and communicate with you every step of the way. The rooms & food are lovely and I can honestly say this is the best hospital I’ve ever been to. And I’ve been to quite a few!

I had an overnight stay at Bethesda and left today. I must say that the hospital is beautiful. The care I received was amazing. The staff were so friendly and polite and all my needs were met and any questions answered. I cannot thank Seena, Sara and Lee on Riverview ward enough. You are beautiful nurses and a credit to Bethesda.

Just had major surgery today and am So so so impressed with this hospital, from the initial entry, my surgical team, the admissions staff, physio, all the nursing staff both in theatre and on the ward. 7 odd weeks ago I had a big surgery at a large private hospital down the road and had the worst ever experience (shocking to say the least). Needless to say for todays more serious surgery, I needed to get it right, choose right and that I did!! Bethesda has been such a total contrast in comparison which has been such an incredible relief !!! Caring, empathetic, and responsive staff, topped by a lovely environment with beautiful views! Im so glad I chose this hospital !!!! WELL DONE Bethesda!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

By far the best hospital I've been to. The staff are all incredibly friendly and helpful. And the cafe is just as fantastic - great staff, great coffee and cakes, and not to mention the great view. Parking is convenient and only $2/hr out front.

**Brilliant** Bethesda is a relatively small hospital, situated in Claremont, that caters mostly for day surgeries. There is also a Palliative Care wing. The facilities are excellent and the care provided by the nursing staff and doctors was amazing. I've been admitted to Bethesda Hospital 3 times since September and I have nothing but praise for the hospital in general...10/10

I had a day surgery at this hospital which went smoothly and without issue. Special mention to Maddie and Sarah who were absolutely amazing in post operative care, as was Charlotte in pre-op. These ladies were professional, friendly, reassuring and overall a pleasure to deal with. Thanks guys.

Recently I got knee repair operation in Bethesda hospital. I have received great care from the one day care unit. the nurse Amanda was really busy to care quite a few patients, but she is trying very hard to care me, because I have had the bad drug reaction. I mean she used her warm heart with the professional skills to care. thank you Amanda.

I sat in the waiting room for almost two hours at pathology for a blood test on a Friday morning. When it was finally my turn, they said they didn’t have a “water bath” which was required for my blood test, so they couldn’t carry out the test. I wasted all that time.

My stay for surgery was similar to staying in a 5 star hotel; the staff were brilliant; highly professional and attentive, room and facilities were very comfortable and the view over the Swan River added to the ambience and peacefulness of my stay. While I was keen to get out to continue my rehab, I would have gladly stayed another couple of days if required!!

Today the 14th feb 2023, frank moved into palliative care at Bethesda from SCGH. He is absolutely in tears upon reaching and experiencing the first round visit by nurses Ali and Dr. P, other care workers and the singer/muscian. The team is very friendly, helpful and highly professional. Hats off to them. Even though our frank got just a few days to live.. He gets to live and experience the best care and best view of Bethesda Health Care. The hospital is the best, nurses are kind and professionals plus the view is stunning...i wish my frank can stay in there for long long and long. Uodated reviews.....on 25th feb 2023 my love left his physical body. As much as we miss him, we are happy he is off pain now. Should not forget to thank all the nurses and dr. A. Wilson for the love, care and support given to frank. The team at Bedthesda health care were solid good and frank really appreciated and grateful to everyone who attended and nursed him. I m bad with names but all the nurses and healthworkers including volunteers who looked after frank from 14th feb to 25th feb 2023 in riverside ward 6 had done tremendously great job. I appreciate the support given to me esp by the nurse incharge...sorry i can't remember names. Losing loved ones not easy, but support and care shown by the professionals DOES help heaps. So, THANK YOU VERY MUCH Bedthesda care team. Thank you

My experience at Bethesda Hospital Claremont left me with mixed feelings. To begin with, I must commend the specialist I consulted, Dr. Okamoto. His approach was fantastic, as he attentively addressed my needs and listened to my situation. Dr. Okamoto provided clear and informative guidance on what I could and couldn't do, instilling a sense of confidence in me throughout the process. The Anaesthetist, Dr. Wenzel, also contributed to my positive experience by demonstrating a considerate approach. He noticed my nervousness and adjusted the medication based on my feedback, making me feel well-cared for. However, my satisfaction took a downturn post-surgery. Upon waking, I struggled to articulate my name and respond to questions. Once back in my room, the nurse hastily called my wife and seemed determined to discharge me promptly. I felt immense pressure to leave, as if I were the last patient remaining. Despite expressing my unpreparedness, the nurse insisted I attempt to use the restroom. The difficulty I faced in walking and removing the robe, coupled with the nurse's comment about my exposure, added to my discomfort. Although I could only produce a few drops of urine, the nurse deemed it sufficient. Feeling dizzy and disoriented, I sensed dehydration and voiced my concern about being rushed out. The nurse avoided giving a direct answer when I inquired about my safety and posed the question, "Do I want to go home?" Examining the paperwork, which I assumed was the discharge summary, revealed inaccuracies, strengthening my suspicion that they were eager to expedite my departure due to the late hour. The subsequent night proved to be one of the most uncomfortable sleeps I've experienced, marked by leg cramps, stomach cramps, and inexplicable hiccups. While I anticipated some discomfort post-surgery, the intensity of these symptoms raised concerns. I reached out to after-hours care for advice, believing that my early discharge might have contributed to this distressing experience. It leaves me questioning whether such a swift discharge borders on medical negligence.
