My husband and I have been attending St. Andrews for many years and we are very happy with our Doctor and the reason that we continue with St. Andrews. Sadly, the reception staff, particularly those who answer the phone really do leave a lot to be desired regarding their P.R. and telephone etiquette and willingness to help. While appointments could be made on line, sometimes we need to make a telephone call for various reasons – and this I dread, because 95% of the time the person/s I have spoken to have been rude and very unhelpful. And the wait (on hold) is exceptionally long. Just an e.g. A few days back I visited my Dr. for a general health check and everything was good. Just yesterday, as a prerequisite to join a gym, I needed a letter from my Dr. certifying that I am fit for exercise. In fact, I was given a form which only required Dr.’s signature. I called this morning to find out the possibility of this without me actually having to be there. That I would collect the said letter after work. Since I work 5 days a week, 8am – 4pm, I usually need to take time off work to keep a Dr. appointment, (I live in Midland and work in Murdoch). The lady I spoke to (name sounded Carley of Keiley, said she was an assistant manager? To the doctors?) – was very rude saying that if I required anything from the Dr. I need to make an appointment and be there in person as the Dr. is not paid to give out letters. I have not made similar request in the past. (This was just my most recent experience. Several other such incidents in the past). It is mainly the reception staff who seem to lack personality and give the impression that they are doing the patient a favour. My husband visits the centre regularly as he has ongoing treatment/checks and finds the rest of the staff helpful and friendly. After my recent visit with my Dr. I received a "review" form, which I completed with very positive remarks, I now wish I was not that generous with my reviews and should have been more honest re. my past unsatisfactory experiences with the reception staff / telephonists.

The reviews on here make me so sad! I have seen both Dr Tracey Palmer and Dr Rachael and they are brilliant. Dr Tracey helped me so much with my mental health, listens and genuinely cares. Sometimes there is a wait to see her but I honestly believe it's because she gives every patient the time and care they need. I have since moved out of the area and went to a different GP today; my experience there was awful! I will now prefer to drive almost 45 minutes to come back here.

Dr Palmer saved my daughters life. If it wasn't for her and her wonderful skills we would have lost her. I owe her so much

First of all the customer service provided by the women at the front desk is appalling. Wouldn't hurt to smile and do your job properly for god sake. Second of all the doctors rush you, they do not care whether the issue is serious or not. I feel as though the Dr I saw spoke down to me and made me feel pathetic for getting help. Very rude and abrupt. Thanks for making your patients feel comfortable. Won't be coming back.

Came in to see a doctor about needing a referral today, have never been so disgusted with the service I received. Doctor was abrupt and uninterested in the issue surrounding the need for the referral, didn’t acknowledge any information and reasons for the request simply handed a piece of paper to me and said “ here” ! Definitely not a professional and shouldn’t be proud to call herself a “doctor “

The front desk are incapable of critical thinking. Broken ribs = SoB and commonly Pna & chest well trauma... When people want to see a dr not a phone call, and you don’t listen to their symptoms, they’re going to just lie about them to get in to see the dr anyway...so why not just listen, be compassionate, and stop acting like a prison guard...you’re a health professional mate...act like one or dismiss yourself...

Just had the worst expierence with "dr" collis. I have severe nerve pain that has me shaking and unable to walk and he wanted to tell me it should be ok and just give it time. After enforcing that he should look at my report before making a call he reluctantly looked at it and didnt really want to discuss any options. When asked about my previous referral to the neuro surgeon he said he didnt want to talk about it as thats my other doctors problem. I left that doctor to find someone who actually have an ounce of care but alas its one terrible dr after another. This guy should not be practasing. He was so rude my partner left the room crying

Been going there for the last 26 years, had 3 excellent doctors in that time. One stop service excellent medical room, blood and skin checks next door, chemist next door and xrays Ct and MRi round the corner and they bulk bill. You wouldn't get a better medical service in the world. PS Midland hospital round the corner.

Avoid this place, I went in only to wait almost 2 hours because they messed up or forgot my booking or something, then the doctor i finally saw was quite rude and ultimately, unhelpful.

Had an appointment today with Dr Mcbain. So promp and efficient. One of the most caring doctors I’ve seen in a very long time. The reception staff are super friendly and very attentive! Tina helped me throughout my visit but all the front desk girls had a great warm presence. Shout out to the beautiful nurses out the back, they have a very friendly and professional approach to their clinical care! Thanks St.Andrews

I have always received excellent treatment at St Andrews Medical Group, Midland and I have been going there for help and advice since the Sayer Street days. Reception staff are always professional, helpful and kind, whether on the telephone or when I attend in person. Whenever I have received treatment from the nurses it has been done with sensitivity, skill and thoughtfulness. Doctor Cathy Yap has been my doctor, and also my husband's doctor, over the years. I always feel safe with Doctor Yap, and I cannot speak too highly of her. She is attentive, listens carefully and explains fully, and always treats me with a kindly rapport.

I had such a poor experience with these guys, I had an appointment with RACHEL CAMPBELL(missing Dr purposely) and I've never seen such egoistic and unprofessional behaviour, just wasted my time and , instead of getting better feeling gloomy now. I must say, staff serving over the counter at any pharmacy is well mannered than her.

Very unimpressed. They are my parents doctors, almost every visit I am having to argue with them. I will not be returning. They are more concerned about getting the paperwork right/fear of getting sued than they are in helping my mum. Very conservative, like from the ark age. I've been spoiled in the east coast where my medical centre is top notch and so are the doctors.

Dr Palmer is great, however sometimes she doesn't have time to talk about things and you feel that, specially if you have some concerns and English is not your first language. I still recommend her. Alexandra, at reception, is so arrogant, lean some customer service, you are at front desk!

I have had to visit a few GP clinics in Perth due to relocation and this is by far the best in terms of service and support. Reception staff are friendly and efficient. My GP is knowledgeable, supportive and really listens to my concerns. You're not just a number like in other clinics.

It’s always a great experience. Doctors take the time to listen to my needs and provide recommendations to suite. And the nurses are absolutely amazing! I self check in which is always convenient and when I do interact with the administrators they are always friendly and clearly explain what’s needed and are extremely efficient.

Charged me $20 more for a standard consult this morning because I booked an appointment at 7.30am. There is no obvious warning on Health Engine that any appointment before 8am attracts a higher charge unless you scroll down to the bottom. Not good enough and I have written to your practise to demand a refund.

I have seen some shocking doctors at this clinic over my years of living in the Midland area, with one even googling symptoms while I was sitting int he office. The wait times can be ridiculously long and front desk service is nothing special. The one saving grace of this place is Dr Bernadine Gomes. She is hands down the most thorough, caring doctor I have ever seen. After being a patient of hers, I will follow her to whatever clinic she goes to! Dr Gomes deserves her own 5 star rating. I wouldn't see anyone else at St Andrews except for her.

So unprofessional people at the reception and basically don't know how to threat people and how to do there job. I haven't seen people like them in a professional environment . I called a week ago to book an appointment at 5.20 PM but they booked at 5pm. When i arrived there, they asked to pay $80 for not attending today's appointment and an appointment a week earlier that i was not aware of it. People, consider this place as your last option!!! If you go there, you will regret.

The doctors here are excellent. I have seen 3 so far at this clinic for varying reasons as some are specialists in certain areas. I have never had a problem with getting an appointment and never go away from here without being happy with the service. The ladies on the reception are always accommodating and assist in making sure that I get the appointment time that best suits me.

Saw a female doctor who was supposed to specialise in mental health and women. She did not even come out the waiting area to get me but instead yelled out my name from down the hall where I couldn’t even see her. She then lays back in her seat and proceeds to not make eye contact with me while I try to explain what’s going on. She refused to listen and ended up making me cry and having to make another appointment for what was supposed to be sorted out that day. Very unpleasant experience as I was seeking urgent help and that’s not what I received.

Usually St Andrews is really good. Good, kind reception staff and making a booking online is easy and efficient and most of the doctors are friendly but if you want any help don't ask dr Murphy he yells at patients as he is "too busy" and yells till they cry and pushes them out of his office. If you go here, don't go to him!

Giving a 5 star review because those poor girls behind the desks cop so much flack from people who can't book an appointment online properly. It's not their fault your appointment didn't go through Karen, maybe it's operator Error....

Absolutely disgraceful service. As the parent of a young boy, I have the right to question anything you plan on Injecting my child with. Have read conflicting information on the safety of Vaxesil! How dare you belittle me in front of nurses. After Covid and the garbage of mass misinformation you as health care professionals should listen to your clients concerns. I've had enough of this corrupt country and doctors who care more about money then children. As fathers we have one job, protect our families and that includes our children. SIMPLY QUESTION. Is Vaxesil a Ribosomal DNA Vaccine yes or no?? Next you'll be saying I'm a conspiracy theorist because I dare question the science. Previously, I asked you about the Covid Vaccination. Yes all safe sir. Garbage! Never had so much heart pain in my life, I asked you for advice. You're more concerned with money then care. Now i pay the health implications. Lots and lots of data coming out on this con. Why the hell would I trust similar technology injected into my kid. You're all a bunch of muppets. Regards, Converned Citizen !!!

After my GP of many years retired and unsuccessfully trying to find a GP that suited my needs a relative suggested St ANDREWS and one particular doctor. I’ve been lucky enough to find a friendly, thorough, thoughtful & extremely competent GP, she is marvellous. If I could award 10 stars I would.

Incompetent...... Not visited for sometime but in short told me wrong problem....failed to see/ remove foreign body in ear...became more unwell till correct diagnosis was made and commenced on right treatment by another surgery who were also disgusted. Perhaps if the arrogant doctors actually listened instead of trying to rush you out so they could go home early for Easter might help. Will not be returning...my dogs get better medical treatment at the vets and a lot busier and harder work. As another client has stated its who you know...of course a Gp is going to spend longer with you if you have a friend who is a gp at same practice....others just get the rude treatment....and inappropriate comments. Still waiting for St Andrews to send my records to new GP....joke. original post a year old ....edited today.

I brought my 5 week old daughter to see the Dr Yap last week for her vomiting problem. She did a poor examination and gave very unhelpful advice saying feeding her 10ml every time and bulp her. Very unprofessional to answer her private phone call during the appointment while we had waited 30min before seeing her. I left the room crying and begged the staff if I could see another doctor of course no luck. That doctor called back 15 min later while I was driving to give me a sugested brand formula for my daughter's problem only because the reception staff told her I was crying outside at the reception. A very bad experience and will never, never go back to this practice.

Very unhappy with Doctor Hunter. I had Covid for more than 3 weeks. I had a bad cough and feeling unwell. She listens to my lungs, asks me if I’ve ever had asthma?? I told her no?? Gives me a prescription for a asthma preventative??? My blood pressure was above 160 & she sends me home. Overnight my cough got worse, My husband took me to another medical centre where I was told straight away that I have bad bronchitis and my blood pressure was too high. Doctor Hunter is not a very experienced doctor at all. My husband and I are NEVER going back to St Andrew’s Medical Centre again.

I booked thru Health Engine; it was listed as 'Telehealth' (phone consult only) which was OK, as I just wanted bloodwork (cholestorol, etc). Then practice texted me saying 'masks are required'. Confused. I texted back to confirm it was 'walk-in'. When I arrived, the receptionists were *invisible* as the perspex screens reflect sunlight and they are extremely quiet- i heard a VERY faint voice squeak 'next' and had no idea where it came from. Recommend they speak louder and make some effort to be seen. Also, fix your booking links to Health Engine to avoid confusion regarding 'phone consult' or walk in. Geez

Bad, my BP medication had been discontinued and chemist wanted to give an alternative but was told by the receptionist "they won't alter a prescription over the phone, I will need to make an appointment so they (Dr's I presume) can get paid" So it's all about money, nothing to do with my welfare or booking a double appointment next time I go there...I now have to wait till Monday without BP medication so I can see another Dr in a new clinic...never going back to St Andrews
