I had ETS surgery approximately just over 4 years ago for facial blushing only.. since surgery I suffer dry hands, they shrivel up like prunes.. moisturise daily that's ok.. but I sweat soo bad from my chest, back and legs, also feet it is like a dripping tap. I change my clothes 3 times a day. But the worst side effect from this surgery is it has destroyed my thermoregulatory system.. I over heat even in cool air conditioned rooms.. my back and neck feels too hot as if I'm laid of burning coals constantly. Not only this but it has caused severe fatigue, I have had to quit my job as a fifo HD mechanic as I am heat intolerant now. This surgery has destroyed my life and has led me to severe depression. If I could reverse back time I would never of had this operation done. Please note this operation has been banned in multiple countries across the world including the country it was invented in. This surgery should be banned in Australia. Guys and girls please please do your research and home work before proceeding with this surgery. It also hasn't cured my facial blushing and in temperature changes it is now actually worse than before. I contacted Mr Sanjay Sharma with my symptoms I was experiencing.. only for the receptionist to email back saying Dr Sharma hasn't heard of any of my symptoms and doesn't know how to help or treat them. If you do not know the full extent of the side effects in which you specialise and operate in the field you shouldn't be performing the surgery in the first place. I am now taking legal action and a class law suit against perth sweat clinic with specialist medical lawyers.

I would not recommend this clinic. I had the sweaty armpits treatment twice because the first time it didn't work. The first treatment was $2,500, while the second was $1,500. I have not seen any change in my sweaty armpits after spending a total of $4,000 on them. I called the clinic and inquired as to why the treatment had failed miserably for me. And I've been told that I'm one of the small proportion of people who won't benefit from the treatment. I inquired if they could assist me because I had already paid $4,000 for nothing. They declined to provide any additional assistance. If anyone is interested in receiving the same treatment, please read this and think twice before throwing your money away.

DEATH SURGEON. Pls contact me before you do the swearing surgery. I did it 6 months ago and the biggest regret of my life. I trusted dr sharma I wish I didn’t. Wish he was more clear with his explanation . I wish he said the procedure he’s doing was banned in Sweden and that’s where they invented this type of surgery and I wish he said everyone will get sweating in other places. He made it sound so simple and it’s low percentage you will get sweating in other places. I have been depressed for months now and still am. There are many Thank You cards in Dr. Sharma’s office from past patients which is a testament to his care and consideration. He always has a smile and discusses each procedure in depth - usually with a diagram to show exactly where and what will be impacted. Your concerns and questions are answered without rushing. My last operation was keyhole and ended up being internally more challenging than expected but I still have barely noticeable external stitch sites after 8 weeks. Many of his patients are long term and the ladies in reception go the extra mile to accommodate each and everyone.

Extremely happy with the results. Hands would dry up a fair bit for the first couple of days after the surgery, only have to moisturise them every couple of days now. No more sweating!

I underwent an endoscopic thoracic sympathectomy under Dr Sharma in 2019. I went to him asking to have botulism toxin in my hands, he told me that it was a waste of money and talked me into an ETS. I believe he did not go into the side effects enough, rushed me through the consent form and had me booked in without giving me an adequate cooling off period. He also did not explain that the procedure has actually been banned in the county of its origin Sweden due to the incidence and severity of compensatory sweating and other side effects. I have attempted to contact him several times in the last 3 years for any help with the horrible living conditions I am now in due to my sweating and his receptionist always claims he will call me back, he never does. I used to have to wipe my hands on my pants before shaking hands with people, now I have a permanent band of sweat around my abdomen and can't wear any colour other than black due to this. I am embarrassed to hug my loved ones and avoid physical contact at all costs. This surgery ruined my life.

I underwent a bilateral thoracic sympathectomy a couple of months ago to treat severe palmar hyperhidrosis. Got the Bilateral Thoracic Sympathectomy for facial hyperhidrosis and the results have been great. Had it at Mount Hospital and the staff and doctors were super friendly and accomodating. A little compensatory sweating here and there but absolutely nothing compared to my sweating prior to the surgery. I'd suggest doing some research and going for it - definitely a huge difference.

I had suffered with facial and head sweating for over 15 years and tried multiple different things to improve it, all unsuccessful. Dr Sharma explained my procedure (bilateral thorascopic sympathectomy) very thoroughly and we discussed all the potential adverse events. He made me feel very calm and not at all anxious. I went ahead with the surgery at the Mount Hospital 4 weeks ago and it wow, it’s been life changing! I no longer sweat from my face or head, I can go out into the sun, drink and enjoy myself now. For most of my life I suffered embarrassing facial sweating when eating. I had a bilateral thoracic sympathectomy 3 weeks ago and facial sweating has stopped. Although there is some nerve pain under the armpits and across my chest after the operation, the procedure was worth it. This pain should clear up when fully healed. Dr. Sharma was upfront about possible side effects and I did get some compensatory sweating on my back, chest and legs but only when working so I can live with that. It is so good to be able to eat food without being embarrassed anymore.
